Poor design, hard to use

There’s really no alternative to using this official bus app on Malta, but it is a really badly designed app that makes it hard to use.

For example, it chews through battery life.

Its geolocation is usually wing, so the directions and recommendations are often nonsensical.

Journey pages don’t clearly present walking segments as such (a waking person icon would help), so new users can think it’s a bus segment but without the bus number

Showing the bus stop number would also be useful given several same-named stops and Tallinja ’s tendency to suggest one that is not where you are.

If you go back from the detailed directions. such as to look at other suggested routes, you have to start all over again. Your current itinerary is wiped out. Also, several of the line labels have white te t on light backgrounds, making it hard to read the line number. White on yellow, really? Some basic user experience skills are sorely needed by this developer.

Poor UI, lacks features

Clunky to use - the next bus feature takes a while to pinpoint, UI is basic, the journey planner feature is crude and limited. Features to add: MOBILE / CARD fare payment options.

Don’t even bother

Buy a bus pass right at the airport. Tallinja is HORRIBLE

Using Talinja Malta Transport is a jungle and chaotic system especially coming from Bugibba. It's free of use but poor service.
