Having the watermark constantly on dead-center in the upper third of the frame throughout the film makes it unwatchable for me. Like looking at a film through a storefront window. Distracting and destroys what the willing suspension of disbelief to be reading that with every camera move or cut. If I were the Cinematographers Guild, at least, or DP I’d contractually disallow the practice.
On the old DVD’s it was Ok that the watermark would on occasion and by no means often… randomly fade in briefly and quickly go away.
Surely you can do better?!
I love screener passport. It’s clean and easy to use. I can watch all my screeners on any device and haven’t had any problems. I know someone else said they couldn’t get it on Apple TV but maybe that is an issue they fixed because I could.
I only wish that SAG would put all the screeners on this platform. Having so many different apps for them is annoying.
With the high price of membership dues you would think that the least SAG could do is get a decent app or better access to the titles members vote on. There has been zero improvement with ScreenerPassportMovies. Copyright infringement is important, but you can only do so much before you make it impossible for anyone to watch except for the hackers. It’s a piece of cake on the WB app, even with airplay on earlier appleTVs, so the excuses don’t work. Guess WB is gonna kill at the awards.
App is beyond terrible…worked with their tech dept for hours..could never get my movies to play on my AppleTV…just a continuous spinning icon..played on my iPad Pro..but they won’t allow you to screen share with your AppleTv…frustrating to say the least…you would think that the studios would pick a solid partner to help screen their movies…just look how many bad reviews ScreenerPassportMovies has. Lame.
It’s almost impossible to enjoy the SAG-AFTRA nominated performances because this ap logs you out every 20 minutes. One of the movies this year was 2 hours and 39 minutes, so you do the math and you see why I only gave 1 star. I would think the developer would take more pride in their work. I mean, not many can say they are the AP for Hollywood. *Sigh* Let’s hope next year we will get a new ap so we can actually enjoy the nominated performances.
While I love watching the nominated performances, it is hard to fully enjoy these movies because ScreenerPassportMovies logs off at least 3-5 times a movie. I am using chromecast so I can watch it on my tv, but multiple times a movie the screen goes black and I have to close ScreenerPassportMovies , re log in, and then try to fast forward to where I was in the movie. I hope they get this fixed or find a new app by next awards season.
With all the problems with ScreenerPassportMovies last year, why would SAG use it again!! If this crippling of our voting process goes on any longer, it will be egregiously unfair to the nominated films and actors!! I refuse to judge a performance based on what I see on a six inch iPhone screen.
Please abandon ScreenerPassportMovies and give us something that works. And next year, you might want to do some testing before you launch or just send out DVDs only!!
Note to studios, if this is your call do to financial or piracy concerns about sending out DVDs... you are shooting yourselves in the foot!
Zero stars would be better. The people who built ScreenerPassportMovies oughta be ashamed of themselves and SAG should find another platform to deliver their screeners. Any app that’s supposed to deliver a streaming experience needs to keep the stream going. ScreenerPassportMovies, playing on an Apple TV 4K, with plenty of internet for streaming a 4K picture, goes to black randomly and forces you to step out of the movie to re-“cache”. You will tear your hair out trying to watch a film uninterrupted. It’s an awful experience and practically sacrilegious for a movie-lover. For shame, for shame!
If you’re trying to get us to vote for your film, this is not the way. In fact, it’s a huge turn-off. ScreenerPassportMovies logs you off while you’re in the middle of playing a film. It stops playing, loses your place, and then you have to cue it up to your place while playing on your phone, x out of that, and then go to the cast icon, and then play the film again. The cast icon isn’t even on the screen where you play the film. This happens repeatedly. With so many issues with ScreenerPassportMovies , it would have been nice to be able to cast from the website on your laptop to the tv. All the other screener sites do that. The roku tv app is great, but that was on my personal tv. I couldn’t watch this properly with family on the livingroom tv, which is not a roku tv. These app programmers shouldn’t be doing this for a living. Seriously, find a new career.

App not found in AppleTV. Unable to play on TV. Unable to AirPlay or screen share/mirror from phone to TV. What’s the point? Why?
Forced to download app— ok fine. Don’t have account or password and no way to create one to use ScreenerPassportMovies !!! Frustrating waste of time
I dont understand why you dont allow airplay. I certainly will not be watching a feature film on an iphone or purchasing new hardware like roku. Nor will I vote for any studio that is so restrictive.

But I never saw anywhere to set up ScreenerPassportMovies with a password.
Can’t watch anything, can’t vote if I am not able to watch.
Bad system
I don’t think they could make it any harder to watch a screener. Won’t allow screen sharing from your phone (which was the ONLY way I was able to play the movie.) So I guess it’s cool if you want to watch MI on a 4x6 screen.
Anyone who wants to get voting eyes on their projects should not be going with Screener Passport. It’s simply not ready for prime-time. Whoever runs it needs to spend less time schmoozing producers to get hot ticket screeners and more time ensuring the screeners they get actually stream properly. Multiple issues requiring re-signing in, and then “device limit” locks me out? Seriously? Clowns.
No issues here. Worked like a charm.
I downloaded and used ScreenerPassportMovies yesterday. I watched a two-hour-plus film on an iPad without a single glitch. Whatever problems it did have seem to be fixed.
