Hate is not a strong enough word

If Zenoti wasn’t required by my job, I’d never open it. It constantly crashes. I have to CONSTANTLY log back in because it logs me out. Notes cannot be edited and you cannot use proper punctuation. For an app that does so little, it’s endlessly frustrating to use. It’s clunky, it’s slow, it’s completely useless half the time. I’m standing inside the building I work in and it tells me I’m out of my business location. What?! If I could give Zenoti zero stars, I would. I can guarantee the people who gave it five stars were paid to do so or they were the devs of Zenoti. It’s absolute garbage.

Editing to add new complaints: when I click “clock in/log in” I get a red bar across the top saying it cannot be completed. I have to crash Zenoti to log in. Also, when I swipe to go to another day, it will either not swipe, or it will half swipe. Sometimes it will actually go backwards. It doesn’t keep you on the same day when you go back into it. If it’s Tuesday, the red bubble at the top on the calendar says it’s Friday the week before. The entire development team needs to be scrapped. Seriously, START OVER! There’s no saving this horrible app. I can’t say it enough. It’s garbage.

Not user friendly

Zenoti is super slow (same problem with the website) and too many steps for whatever you want to do (website too). When it comes to appointment domification, the first thing you might think of, is change of the appointment time, but this option doesn't exist on Zenoti. Also, anytime you want to use Zenoti , you need to do filters all over again because it mixes and lists all appointments in one column instead of seperating based on employees (unless you filter)! So many works needs to be done in order for Zenoti to be functional

Awful

Zenoti is terrible. It constantly logs the user out or just crashes and has no rhyme or reason. It’s straight up trash and is the worst spa software I have ever been unlucky enough to use. Unfortunately it is required by my spa. This is what happens when you skimp to save money for a corporation and end up requiring an app that makes all of the employees frustrated. Clients miss upgrades, therapists and estheticians miss money because of the lost upgrades. Horrible experience. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Glitchy/terrible loading

The company I work for uses Zenoti. Every time I go to open it it just keeps loading and have to force quit and reopen it multiple times before it works. It’s always kicking me out and I have to log back in, sometimes even when I just logged in. When it does work it load’s extremely slow. Makes you feel like you’ve went back to the dial up age. I would never recommend Zenoti it is just a huge headache and causes loads of frustration!

This blows my balls so hard

Seriously, why would you redesign Zenoti to work against yourself?! To open the soap notes now, you have to tap on the name, choose the tiniest details tab and click on an even smaller button to input. Previously you can see who got here with ease, now you have to distinguish between opaque free or yellow or blue. Not only that, but it makes you re do the password with no guidelines and it kicks you out completely and you have to restart?! Fire the design team, and ASK massage therapist how to make it better!!!:(

Inconsistent & needs a major backend update

I have never used an appt that is as poorly integrated and works so badly.
Obviously there are major gaps between what is being asked of Zenoti and what the developers have the ability to do. Constantly updating Zenoti in order to be able to use it functionally 20% of the time makes absolutely no sense.

I would suggest investing some of the funds made from hosting services as well as data sales (because what is an app used for booking appointments collecting personal data, if not for selling it) into a team of developers that will at least make Zenoti run efficiently.

I do not write reviews, but I have had such an awful time using Zenoti that I needed to give feedback. It feels like the developers either did not try to make a functional app or that they were not given the ability to.

It’s crap

I know it’s not my phone service or wifi but takes ages to load. Kicks me out, signs me out every time I log in, doesn’t update my upgrades for services meaning I don’t get my proper pay making me lose $8-$60 a service. I don’t have time to wait 5-10 minutes just to be able to read my clients intake or notes. If I can use apps/games with massive amounts of data with no lag with millions using Zenoti , this “simple” app I’m required for work should be able to load with full bars 5g and priority phone service vs simple/average users.

Issues viewing commissions and gratuity!!!!

It seems like right when they’ve gotten Zenoti working great they take a few steps back and make harder for their therapists to use. I’ve been using this app to view my appointments for over a year. I have always been able to view my commissions and gratuity in the same tab and it made it very convenient to keep track of my commissions so I know if there is a mistake on managements part I can quickly get it resolved. Well now it’s in two separate tabs and is also almost never working when I try to view it. It’s very frustrating. Can you please fix this ASAP!!!!

I’m not in the business location which I am, so I can’t use it

I got this because our company is moving to a new software this, yet the only thing I can successfully do is check my schedule when it comes to working.
I can’t look at invoices because it never says that I’m in that location even though all of my location on and precise location is on.
It also takes forever to load, which means even if it did want to let me check someone out the other person at the computer would probably be done by the time it load up

Glitchy, AND no access to full employee schedule???

I just think that a business app like this should have the most basic function applicable to all who use this to also “clock-in” for employment. I can ONLY see my own schedule on Zenoti which is so redundant because in the event that I may be inquiring about coverage, I’d have no way to access that information through mobile. I also think it’s so ridiculous how you can’t see the full employee list and access their portals the same as you would on the full site. It’s just a really poorly designed system, and I think they need a full upgrade and turnover.

Zenoti Isn’t Interested in Improving

This may be ok for a single practitioner, but it’s awful if you have a full team. We are a busy massage therapy spa.

First, you cannot compress the screen horizontally to view the entire shift. You have to pan back and forth to see more than 3 therapists. When I contacted their support team, they told me, “Just use the list view.” The list view doesn’t show the day’s shifts in relation to each other, so we can’t easily see how we need to coordinate the floor. So they’re not interested adding functionality. They think their useless List view is sufficient.

Second, the Appointments screen doesn’t refresh when a client is checked in. We have a tablet in our break room in the back of the studio that lets us view the Appointments screen to see when our clients check in up front. But it only updates if we manually tap Select Date - Today. So we cannot automatically see when our clients check in. When I called support about this problem, I was told to “enable push notifications on their phones”.

What is so hard about providing basic functionality and utility in your app? Don’t waste your money with this nonsense when you’ll just be given non-solutions to your problems.

One thing that definitely NEEDS to change

I keep not doing additional services on clients because I don’t see them. If someone gets a service with a beard trim add on, for example, I only see the service itself listed, but not the add-on. If I want to see if they do have an add on, then I have to click on their name and it brings me to another page that then has the add-on GRAYED OUT. Between two other neutral colors. This add on does not stand out so therefore it is SO easily and often overlooked, especially when we are busy. They need to make these more obvious because clients shouldn’t have to remind me what services they are getting. It should let me know on Zenoti WAY more easily and should be way more obvious and easy to find! Please fix this!

Needs added features

We use Zenoti at cosmetology school and it works fairly well except it would be amazing if there was an option that notified us when services were added to our books and not only when clients check in. We get a lot of random changes and if we don’t check Zenoti every minutes we wouldn’t know something have been changed/added.

Not a fan of the new update

80 minute services being listed as an upgrade instead of being a a larger square. Service types that I should be able to see at a glance like Prenatal having to click into to see, though I do click into every client, I don’t always get the chance to in advance of their service and having my table set for prenatal has been rushed and put me behind due to this. And even when I get the chance to look beforehand, the upgrades aren’t very obvious. Maybe I’ll get used to it someday, but for now the new update is annoying and added hassle.

Could be so much better // glitchy

Our company switched from MBO to this booking software, and it has been quite the headache. Every time I open the schedule I have to scroll to find my name and it often is at a random time that I’m not working (like 8pm even when it’s currently midday) - the funnel function on the calendar doesn’t do anything, and on the list viewing option I am always having to reselect it throughout the day.

I used to be able to see just my schedule with the previous software’s app, and look at it in week mode so I could quickly look through my schedule for openings when rebooking a client. As it is, using the rebook option has me having to check every single day and the times available are not super intuitive (I’m always having to do time math to figure out the ideal times when I have a large chunk of time available).

And as someone else said, having a notification when someone books an appointment would be great, as my work does not need the checkin function.

Also agree that the design looks like it’s from the 90’s.

She’s a fixer upper

Zenoti is either always crashing or taking forever to load. Sometimes all of the people on my books disappear, or it does this weird flicker thing where the client will be there then disappear then reappear again. We’ve had too many problems with this app. It has potential to be great. Just fix the bugs and glitches.

I like this app but wish it would notify me

I love this app and find it very easy to use, but would love if it could start to send notifications when you get someone booked on your schedule! I am an esthetician so when I have open slots it’s very normal for someone to walk in and/or book last minute, considering i have to refresh my page to see if i’m booked, it would be so much nicer to get a notification instead!!

Works great, but where are tips??

I’ve occasionally had problems where Zenoti stops working for our whole spa, but once u log out and back in again it fixes itself. My only complaint is: WHERE CAN I VIEW MY TIPS? The old this app app (blue app logo) used to let me view how much my clients tipped on card, and I would really appreciate being able to see that again. I have no way of seeing what I was tipped.

fantastic way to make work just a little bit easier

I used to have to print out membership contracts, which isn’t that bad, except that you’re always dealing with printer issues. I like the feel of the iPad and being able to hand that to customers - it just makes for a nicer experience overall. The biggest thing of course is that we’re saving on all the paperwork and the space that the files were taking up in our back room. Looking forward to moving all those old files into the this app app.

It’s come a long way

I’ve watched Zenoti grow from just a few functions to a very full featured application that does appointment booking extremely well. At first it took some adjustment to use the booking tool, since it isn’t the familiar grid with times and service providers with existing appointments all laid out. But then I used the tool a few times and found it really does an excellent job to triangulate all the factors and pick a good appointment slot. And so cool that the whole thing syncs in real time with the traditional computer side of the appointment book. Nicely done!
