Trying to go into temperature settings or the states crashed the app. This is since the update that said Font changes. We need back to the previous version or this fixed immediately. It’s the middle of summer and now we can’t control our unit as intended. Please fix now!!
I see the Developer is telling everyone to download a different app. The problem with that, is that the other app does not have the same functionality. So instead of fixing the issue, which was supposedly just a font change, so that the app can go back to functioning as it should, they are redirecting you to a less functional experience. Also, the nee app doesn’t work either. I have tried to set up schedules and they will not save and when they do save they are not what I set it to and you can not delete a schedule without getting an error that says “please try again.” So, to me, neither of these “smart” apps are working. The developers need to fix the font on this app or get the nee Smart HQ app to work and have the same functionality, or I will never be buying another GE product and neither should anyone else.

Ever since the 8.12 update a day ago, you cannot do hardly anything without the app force closing every single time. You can select the unit, but once you try and click to power it on or off or change a temp, it force closes. Happens from multiple devices where they all worked before. Further, every time there is a power failure, it defaults to “Energy Mode”. There should be a way to to toggle options to remember it’s current settings if this happens. Otherwise, it powers back on and does not resume from where it left off. In a very hot and humid climate, we need the option to keep it on cool all the time to keep air circulating, or it gets to unbearable. Whereas now, if you are not home and there’s a power cycle, you come home to a unit that might be powered off “thinking” it’s cool enough, because it’s in a steel box keeping ambient temp isolated from the room that gets warm and humid faster. This is a design flaw, and should resume to its last settings. And, since you screwed up the app, and it just closes, you can’t even remotely change it anymore.

Last year I purchased a smart GE water softener that detects leaks and provides a remote shut off valve via a cell phone. Since I travel a lot, this is the primary reason I purchased this water softener. Prior to the 8.2 update, the software worked flawlessly. I just recently tried to turn off the water via my phone and the application crashed . Repeated attempts to turn off on the valve all resulted in the software closing when i tapped the valve button. I reloaded the software and reset up the network account in hopes that it would fix the problem. No luck.
This APP will show my water softener modeland the rate of flow, but as soon as I try to operate any functions via the app the software quits.
It appears almost everyone is having the same or similar problems since the latest update.I was shocked to see how many people are as frustrated as I am. I am hopeful the GE app will be fixed with the next update. I will no longer buy any GE appliancesI in the future if the company doesn’t address this substantial software issue.
