my new FAVORITE photo edit app!

I use many diff photo & art apps, and have for years. It is something i really enjoy doing, especially w my big ipad pro & pencil. But, i have to say upon discovery of HYPERSPEKTIV, out of ALL of them that i use, THIS ONE is my #1 FAVORITE!
My ONE complaint is, as of now, it is an iphone app so i just enlarge it for the ipad. But of all my apps, this one, for me, creates the most interesting & original embellishments that turn any photo into art. I love the quality of what is produced where edges are sharp and the algorithm very smart - many look of commercial quality. But i also love how FAST 7 easy it is to edit and scroll through the various filters. Makes it very easy to compare variations of the images so i can quickly pick my fave for the occasion.
I use my edits for various art pieces(many of these are frame worthy for a cool, retro or more modern or industrial look! I am a self proclaimed interior designer and currently designing and decorating 4 high end units), but also use this for fun family albums, as well as social media posts!
QUICK, intuitive, and well done photo manipulations .
Please get an ipad version, & prefer a purchase app model over “subscription”.;)

Congrats on Your App Store Feature...

"You can't try to follow trends or capitalize on moments or cash in." That's verbatim what you said in your latest App Store feature interview today. It's very funny you said this I think. You don't follow trends or cash in on moments??! What the heck do you call taking this once premium app that we all paid our hard earned money for in the good faith that we actually bought a, pay once, premium app. And following the disgusting and unethical TREND of shady developers taking their single pay premium apps and turning them into pay forever subscription apps then??! I'd sure call that following a TREND and definitely CASHING IN on all us customers who trusted you 3 guys to uphold your end of the bargain of all of us having bought what we thought was a premium app. I would have never given you a cent if HYPERSPEKTIV started out as a pay indefinitely, subscription app. I just feel ripped off still. If I don't start renting HYPERSPEKTIV that I already paid for once. I'll cease getting new filters and updates. That's just plain extortion and betrayal in my opinion. You couldn't pull this type of shady action in any other type of commerce.

Subscription only? Gross

I wish I knew who is responsible for starting the trend of making every single app that’s not even worth a one-time payment of $20 a subscription model and fleecing people for all they can get. It’s ludicrous. This isn’t Adobe Creative Cloud, man. Charge us $10 for the thing and be done with it. $35 a year for software I can’t own just to do some video filters? Extremely hard pass.

It would almost be poetic if every small developer that makes tiny apps like calculators and cameras and todo lists lose their careers and have to work minimum wage jobs at fast food restaurants, then juggle bills and worry about overdraft fees when their stupid video filter subscription hits that month after they lose their job to the plague. It’s getting to where the average person isn’t just paying for internet, they’re also paying for 6-7 different streaming services, cloud services, we even have subscriptions to cars now! Paying for this feels like paying $3 a month for a flashlight app and it’s disgusting.

Deliver me from this idiotic business model.

disappointed with the new direction

like many i have been using HYPERSPEKTIV for a while and find this new subscription stuff to be a real downturn. i really like HYPERSPEKTIV would otherwise give it 4-5 stars but i can’t support this new change. being able to save your own work in hd quality should be a free part of the basic functionality of any app and sadly used to be possible with HYPERSPEKTIV without paying a subscription, very lame. this should have at least been a feature that existing users should have been grandfathered into. i would be willing to entertain a one time fee per new feature but simply will never pay a monthly subscription and this will sadly result in me using HYPERSPEKTIV less and less until i just delete it. i really hope that you all reconsider these bad moves or at least do something like grandfather already existing users into this. make saving in hd a core part of the free service as it was previously. add one time fees for unlimited saving of wildcards etc. i would be fine if you charged a subscription for updated and new filters (i wouldn’t probably ever do this but i am sure some would) but it would be better to just constantly create new filters that people could pay one time fees for if they want them without angering your older loyal users. again hope you all reconsider because i really do like HYPERSPEKTIV.

WORST UPDATE EVER TO ANY APP!

Anyone looking to buy this, please do not. Boycott subscription based apps! This was a beautiful app that most of us actually PAID for. There were so many awesome hi quality filters that was deleted to make room for a subscription platform. This is bait and switch, and its so sad.

Developers- You all are a major disappointment. I upgraded to the newest version and LOST all the filters I loved from the original. I get that you wanted to offer a subscription option to make more money, but to do it by removing filters I loved using? Subscription options, seriously, that should be a different page entirely. To remove your best filters from the original paid version, which I bought I complete and utter BS!

You want more money, then be smart and have an in app option that allows users to buy all these new filters and features at one simple price. The subscription platform is the kiss of death, and being that I was an early adopter and supporter of your impressive work...I do hope this apps life is threatened due to this greedy and amateurish, move.

If cant get the version of your app that I fell in love with, Back, soon in a new update, I’m gonna accept the investment loss and delete your app.

My words are harsh and brutal for one reason and one reason ONLY! I really loved your work and what HYPERSPEKTIV was.

There isn’t another app that does what this app can do.

Get rid of all your other glitch apps. HYPERSPEKTIV goes beyond filters and AR. It takes what you put in front of the camera and makes it a whole new world experience on another planet or some fairy tale secret place. And still somehow it does mint take away from your skills as a photographer or over shadow your ability to capture the subject. It inspires you and makes you want to find subjects and locations and different lighting to play with and enhances them creating illusions that defy physics and the natural world. It’s magic made real. It’s this app and its all you’ll ever need for a photography filter app.

VR! Also add more effects+more (EDIT: DON’T GET)

UPDATE:
Don’t get this at all. The developers turned into leeches and implemented PAID subscription. I bought this awhile back (for about $4 I believe...) and I’m sad that this is the route you guys took. Please get rid of it, and maybe make the overall price for HYPERSPEKTIV higher if you want some more money.

Old Review (ignore...)
I know asking for more is heard a-lot. But can you add a feature that we can use VR in HYPERSPEKTIV . Just like the other review, to immerse ourselves in HYPERSPEKTIV . Also, can you add a feature where we can make our own crazy filters and save them. The ability to save the random filters too. Maybe y’all can add more filters in the future! HYPERSPEKTIV is great! Only complaint is I can’t choose photos to edit. Nor will photos save. HYPERSPEKTIV just updated, and you said you fixed it. However it wasn’t fixed for me. I’m on an Ipad air. I’ll check again.

Absolute beast

This software pushes the boundaries of FX capabilities in a real-time photo engine. The UI plays like a synthesizer - with exposed parameters, an XY pad, and single-button process randomization. The devs essentially took all your most-beloved DSP algorithms (and then some), and rigged them with high-level controls for tweaking & layering them... while the camera is still rolling. If you have extensive experience in VFX or compositing, prepare to be blown away.

Feature request for the devs:
Allow us to “record” additional XY inputs while scrubbing through a pre-recorded file. This would bring the post-process capabilities onto equal footing with the real-time capabilities of this app.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

My only complaint about this killer app over the past few years had been that there was no way to save or recall the wildcard settings, which are often some of the best effects you’ll find.

This recent update finally incorporated that ability and then some. I’m not quite sure what’s up with the legacy filters and the monthly subbing option, but so far the update is awesome!

Nice job, KOMRADES!

below is my previous review -
☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭

really great app.

given that the wildcard option gives the best results, i would ask the developers to allow the saving of these settings that are randomly generated. it seems like every time i find a great setting i'm bummed out that i can't reuse it. there is always another setting around the corner, but 20 in between that are kinda worthless for what i'm doing.

that would bring it to 5 stars - no doubt.

(Update - it’s totally worth 5 stars even without the ability to save the randomly generated settings)

Fall from Grace during COVID

I was a happy subscriber to HYPERSPEKTIV about a year ago. I didn’t mind the price to create truly beautiful pieces. Although it did have some stability issues and occasionally crashed altogether, I would still spend hours using it. Fast forward to COVID-19 times and one shall find greed has found its way to the developers. No longer worth the (increased) price. We had some great times and I found myself truly emotional as I long-pressed the icon and watched it jiggle.
However, I’ve gained a new—perspektiv—due to the recent issues not being resolved though claiming they were. With that and a quick social media/financial background check of HYPERSPEKTIV developers, it’s time to say goodbye for moral and ethical reasons.

Misleading

I used Mirrorgram (which turned into SparkMode, which itself no longer exists) in the past and loved it, but now it has mysteriously disappeared from not only HYPERSPEKTIV Store, but my iTunes library as well. After some digging, I found this app, which is apparently the new focus/model of the former two apps. And so after purchasing, I was expecting to use the old functions that Mirrorgram/SparkMode included. But unlike the description (and The Wall Street Journal review, and the The Creators Project review) claims, it DOES NOT have photo support. Only video. And this is incredibly frustrating to me because not only is that downright blatant false advertising, but now I have no app that functions the way Mirrorgram used to. Which is just great, because I don't work much with video... I'm a photographer.

Easy to use and reality-transcending results!!!

I’ve used a variety of video and photo editing apps over the years, but this one really raises the bar. In addition to having intuitive controls and a seamless UI, I love the straight up psychedelic results you can create. Having the ability to see the effects in real-time inspires me while I’m in the creative flow. HYPERSPEKTIV will take you as deep as you want to go when creating video and amazing photo art. I’ve even used it when shooting professional video. this app is truly revolutionary and fun.

Subscriptions but not updated regularly?

I heard about HYPERSPEKTIV not long after it was released and took a chance buying it. Was really pleased and used it for a few days until the novelty ran out. Then it was fun to show off to people here and there, semi annually at best.

They did a few updates at first, even added a few filters, but over time the releases were just bug fixes. Then a year passed without updates until this recent one with a switch to a subscription model.

I’m not here to complain. What I’ve always wanted were more filters. So here is a better monitization idea: make HYPERSPEKTIV free with a handful of sample filters, sell each filter for 99 cents, and offer a bundle of all filters forever for $9.99. Also add a tip jar so that loyal users can give you tips as you release new filters. This model gets you new users, gets you paid based on the coolness of the product, and does not upset your fans.

For now, I just won’t update HYPERSPEKTIV to 2.0 and enjoy the last version. I do hope this gets sorted because based on the update history I don’t foresee new filters being released monthly to justify a subscription.

Super powerful and accessible

I’m constantly making super cool edits of images I come across online, pictures and videos I take, and stuff my friends share

this app makes it a few clicks between seeing an interesting image and applying crazy powerful filters and effects that I haven’t seen topped in other “filter your photos” kinda apps

It’s a deceptively simple “image filter app” filled with production quality effects that folks create everything from music videos to visionary art with 🌞

Trippy fun

No surprises that HYPERSPEKTIV was created by musicians. As a pro drummer myself, I can relate to HYPERSPEKTIV on a multitude of levels. I can also see potential for using it as a self-promotion tool, filtering and toying with a group video or musician headshot.

Most of the negative reviews I’ve seen here seem almost whiny to me. Folks, if you want a really serious photo manipulation program you need to learn Photoshop or some other pro-level program. I see this as primarily for play, for having fun sharing crazy images with friends and through social media. Bravo, guys, I love it.

Been a fan since the beginning but the subscription was a let down

I downloaded this way back In the day and then it wasn’t on HYPERSPEKTIV Store until it came back and I purchased it because I loved it but now I also have to pay for a subscription to use the filters? I love HYPERSPEKTIV and the filters are awesome I just don’t believe it’s fair for us who paid to get HYPERSPEKTIV and now have to pay to use HYPERSPEKTIV because we all know the best filters are the ones who require the subscription to unlock.

Totally Ruined A Good Thing For $$$

I’ve had HYPERSPEKTIV for a few years and really enjoyed it. Today, I noticed there was an upgrade and low and behold, there’s new premium features, complete with a watermark that require a subscription to use and remove. I can understand a one time upgrade that would remove ads or unlock extras but no, the developers took the money route. Unfortunately I don’t use HYPERSPEKTIV everyday and it’s not worth paying a subscription for. There are still other apps that do similar features or I can just drag the files to my pc and do some of same effects for free, if not, I can live without it. Some things aren’t worth the money and this is clearly one. Guess it’ll soon be time to clean house.

absolutely AMAZING!

I had seen HYPERSPEKTIV being used on a TikTok recently, and was captured by the aura looking effect that was being used in the video. Being interested by glitch effects and colorful, trippy, acid looking effects, i immediately went to HYPERSPEKTIV store. Was not disappointed by what i saw. I absolutely love the filters. I do edits and love to delve into unusual and psychedelic type of videos, and HYPERSPEKTIV was perfect for what i was looking for. Excited to use HYPERSPEKTIV in the near future!

Nothing like it!

I’ve been using HYPERSPEKTIV for years, and as far as weird, high quality, easy, and interesting video and photo effects, it’s far above anything else I’ve seen. I’m a subscriber now and the new filters coming out constantly are amazing. It’s just a really fun tool to reach for to add a little touch of alternate reality to whatever you see around you. And the quality has been constantly improving since they launched!

Awesome, but....

This is an awesome app with enormous flexibility and intuitive controls for photo/video mangling, but as usual the upgrade revolves around a “monthly or annual” bill instead of a “one time fee”... I literally delete every app that uses this payment model. It’s horrible.

I get that devs are struggling, and I actually want to support them and pay for the software - but, I disagree that this is the correct approach, and I don’t think I’m alone on this.

Also, examine the times we are in.
Even before the pandemic when more than 1/2 the country was not jobless this was a poor business model.

I pay for enough monthly reoccurring utilities as it is, mortgage, electricity, food, water, etc. To use the same reoccurring billing strategy as if this is the same type of good makes absolutely no sense to me. I’ll happily pay you $40 for the software if that’s what it costs. But each year??? Come on... no thanks.

Plummeting review score

I can afford and like to support devs by buying add on packs, particularly ones that match my needs. It’s a model used by most music apps to enrich functionality.

With this, devs win but it’s not a fair deal for users. The developer gets to collect their cash and we hope we can justify the expense over the next year. Hopefully they create enhancements you like and are still committed to it but there’s no guarantee. And I get to pay double if I want to offer conservative financial support (ie, results driven) by paying monthly?

Their treatment of long term users who paid is why their score is tanking. You’ve been warned though it’s more than I can say for us who were the seed money and reviews for this new cash grab.

Inspirational

This is the most inspirational piece of video editing software I have ever owned. I use it as a visual tool for audio that I produce. I typically work in the audio first and then come up with something in HYPERSPEKTIV to fit but it’s not uncommon for me to come up with something visually appealing in HYPERSPEKTIV first and then design the audio around the imagery. I can sit for hours in the studio listening to tracks I’m working on and just play with filters in HYPERSPEKTIV and get lost in both. It’s brilliant.

Best purchase of my life

Thanks guys! HYPERSPEKTIV is awesome. The fact that I can engage with these real time video effects through a device that fits in my pocket blows my mind. It is truly amazing how accessible magic can be. I’ve only started playing with it and already it’s opening new pathways of thought. Really very cool. I tried to view HYPERSPEKTIV through my Apple TV via airplay but it didn’t seem to work. If this feature is added some day that would be fantastic.
