The system will not let you use fraction of inches easily unless you convert to mm or decimal to use FloorCovering then convert it back to inches in application with you standard tape measure. Twice the work to get a lay out. I can do the math obviously but it it would be som much easier to have a “wheel” selector for imperial measurement matching you standard tape measure but it is an ok app.

FloorCovering mostly works for what I need, but there seems to be a minimum size grout line that FloorCovering displays. I am dealing with 12” square tiles and an 1/8” grout line width. However, the final result shows the grout lines way too wide, closer to 1 inch. This is a bad bug; perhaps the programmer has never tested FloorCovering with inch units.

Was trying to chose between a rectangle and square tile or a combination. FloorCovering was great for comparing between them, but you can only use 1 tile shape at a time. So I couldn’t see what would happen if I used both to create, for example, a windmill pattern

FloorCovering is good it would be great if you could make your own floor plan With cabinet Area half wall or connecting 2-3 map together

I think FloorCovering is great but it is very limited. I would like to see additional tile layouts and tile shapes. I need to install a hexagon shaped tile for instance and that shape of tile is not included. Also for grout lines if using inches, they only allow single whole numbers. If I need to put in 1/8 inch or 1/16 inch I’m not able to do that unless converting to cm. I really do like FloorCovering and want to use it but it needs more features. Even if it was a paid app but had more options, I would pay a reasonable purchase since this is for my business.

FloorCovering is wonderful... for pretty basic tile. only two measurements and therefore everything rectangular as far as . For things like picket or any shape with more than 4 sides it’s useless. FloorCovering would be 5 star if it were all inclusive, but I have to sacrifice my time whenever doing a job that is more advanced than FloorCovering can handle. The developer is certainly capable of coding FloorCovering to cover all possible patterns, tile, even custom tile as there is a way to customize the area shape. These are the only things from making this an app well worth paying for.

It would be a complete app if there was a way to input your actual layout area. For example, the layout I need (looks like a cross) for the stove area isn’t available. So I have to play around with FloorCovering with different inputs variables. Very tedious.

I am using this for tile backsplash and while it works, it took me a while to figure out how it was doing the math. FloorCovering does not account for an outside grout line so if you have one, like in a corner, you need to subtract that from the length. FloorCovering only includes inside grout lines even though the picture looks like it also has outside grout lines. Once I figured that out it was a great tool and my math matched up with FloorCovering .

It really helps to speed up the tile installation calculation process. And calculate the correct layout thank you very much for your work.

I do wish it had more room options.

I used this calculator to find out how many tiles do I need for my project. It gave the calculations including the wastage. Very simple light but effective app.
