I love this simple and beautiful app!

I really love StepsAppPedometer- easy to use, simple, and very well designed! I love the different views- daily, weekly, monthly - makes it easy to track my progress across a long period of time, and helps motivate me to do more. Since downloading StepsAppPedometer I've used it everyday. The best part is I don't have to "turn it on" to use it- it just starts recording steps on its own. I always have my phone with me anyway, so tracking my steps with my phone is an added benefit- and made very easy and intuitive with the StepsApp!! **Update** I've been using StepsAppPedometer for 7 weeks now and I still LOVE it!! Seeing my number of steps each day makes me want to push myself to do more. Great app!!! **Update 2** I've now been using StepsAppPedometer for 8 months and I still LOVE it. I use his app everyday and it's helped really push me to exercise much more this year than I would've w/o it. Very reliable and user friendly app and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their fitness. **Update 3** I've now been using StepsAppPedometer for 15 months and I still LOVE it and use it everyday. StepsAppPedometer has really helped me improve my fitness level over the past year and it's great to be able to see the tremendous progress I've made from a year ago. Thanks again to the developers for a fantastic app!

A Great Motivator

I have been using the Apple Watch and iPhone for a number of years, but then, I came across the Steps App, and once installed, I was quite impressed! The makers had a unique way of creating an app that is centered on the one thing that I, along with a LOT of other people look to see when using the Activity app: Steps.... The only thing I would recommend for improvement is that when we use StepsAppPedometer to actually record an actual walk, we should be able to see how many miles we have walked instead of yardage.... Other than that, very impressive app! The graphics, colors, and data breakdowns in days, weeks and months are all very helpful. Lastly, the “motivation” of it in helping you to achieve at least 10,000 steps daily (or whatever other steps goal you would like to achieve) through a series of notifications, along with your weekly progress on Wednesdays and Sunday’s is also very informative and helpful! All in all: If you want to have a good motivation tool for achieving new steps goals, and ultimately a more active lifestyle, I highly recommend that you have this in your app Arsenal!

Really good step counter

First off... StepsAppPedometer isn’t a subscription type app. It does work with your Apple Watch. Have mine running on a Series 4. It uses mostly the data that your watch and iPhone already collect... your steps. The only difference is how that data is used and presented. StepsAppPedometer allows you to set your own daily goals, including calories burned goals for the day. The Activities app that Apple includes with the Apple Watch doesn’t allow you to alter your goals in any way. Not even the daily calorie goal. Which I think is kinda stupid. I work at a desk most of the day and I was finding it really difficult to meet the default 5000 daily steps the Activities app sets for you. Or the 460 daily calorie goal from activity. With StepsAppPedometer, I can set my daily goal to whatever step count I want, and even the daily activity calorie goals, to something more realistic for me personally that I can achieve... but I do push to exceed those goals as much as I can. All the other apps I came across with similar features were all subscription based services... many costing upwards of $100/yr. I hate subscription services... especially for an app I’m buying. Just stupid. Save your money and just pay the $2.99 for a simple to use app and be done with it.

This app is everything to me than anything other step counter

My family mostly uses a Fitbit and I didn't have one because I don’t like wearing things around my wrist and StepsAppPedometer doesn’t make me put something around my wrist. I downloaded StepsAppPedometer for free half a year ago and so ever since then StepsAppPedometer really kept me motivated because I like the sense of pride and reaching step, calories, mile, and hour goals give me that sense of pride I love. I eventually “bought” the pro version of StepsAppPedometer and I am more addicted to StepsAppPedometer I had ever been. I really love how efficient, simple, and easy to use. It is also visually pleasing to me and love the 6 different colors. I honestly would say StepsAppPedometer is worth more to me than any other step count app or brand. It’s so easy and cheap. I love StepsAppPedometer so much. Even my friend was interested in it and showed her what StepsAppPedometer does for free and the perks of the pro version of StepsAppPedometer .

If you’re looking for a step counter that is easy, efficient, simple, visually pleasing, and cheap I recommend StepsAppPedometer to you!

Good app

I got the free version of StepsApp in summer while I was desperately wanting to do an exercise outside. You know, it’s 2020. I chose StepsAppPedometer for its simplicity. I just needed to know how much I walked and the distance.

With this free app, I set my daily goal of 10,000 steps a day at first, then quickly realized it was just too much for me and eased back to 6,000 steps a day. Changing the goal is easy. I love to watch the shining circle when I reach my goal. With my free version, it seems I cannot keep my record more than a week or so, so if you want to keep it longer, then you’ll want the Premium version I guess.

It counts your steps by feeling the vibration you make while walking, so sometimes I see some discrepancies with my feeling ( ex. I walked longer than yesterday but the count is about same). I try to keep it in my pocket, not in my hand, and it could be a problem when I Zoom walk with the mic on. I wish StepsAppPedometer is a bit more sensitive for this. But overall, I like StepsAppPedometer, it’s been a great incentive for me to walk, and I’m glad I use it. Recommend to a walker who doesn’t need detailed fancy tool.

A standing ovation for one of the best step counter apps out there

I have been an avid Fitbit user for the last 2 years. But I had a problem with the wristband and whilst having it fixed, I figured I should get a step counter on my phone, something to use in the interim. I am however proud to say I haven’t gone back to my Fitbit ever since. Steps App has done a brilliant job of keeping track of my step counts (and even better it doesn’t do that annoying thing Fitbit does when sometimes the band can’t tell whether you are walking or you are in a cab. StepsAppPedometer only counts the actual steps you take). I love how I can set goals for my steps and the stairs I want to climb, plus the amount of activity I want to do. I even love how it also registers the calories I am burning when I walk, and how accurate it is to. Using Steps has been a wonderful experience and I totally recommend it to anyone else. Also, you get most of the nifty features with the free version. But I love the change of colour the pro gives me.

Worthy of a review!

I don’t take the time to write a lot of reviews. Today it just seems like we are inundated with requests to review products or fill out surveys! Who has time for all of that? Every now and then however, a product comes along that particularly impresses me - and I feel compelled to recognize its excellence.

StepsApp is one such app! At it’s core, you may be tempted to say “it’s just a pedometer…no biggie!” While that may be essentially true, it is the elegance and presentation of my data that makes StepsAppPedometer a winner to me.

Along with tracking my steps, duration, distance, calories and floors, StepsAppPedometer also gives me a variety of ways to analyze my data. Trends, averages, totals and records for various time frames including daily, weekly, last 7 days, monthly and yearly allow me to get a great look “inside” my data to really see how my performance is improving.

On top of a nice app with wonderful dark mode and Apple Watch support, StepsApp also has a great development team that is very supportive and responsive. A recent bug I reported received email response within 24 hours and the bug was patched and StepsAppPedometer updated within 5 days of my report! That was simply incredible!

Walking is a major part of my fitness regimen and I depend on StepsApp to help keep me motivated to push ever harder!

Unnecessary, inaccurate and annoying!

I was so excited when I got my new Apple Watch that I searched for apps that I could include and purchased this one. I was so new to the Watch that I didn’t realize it did everything StepsAppPedometer does only does it correctly. One reviewer wrote that you couldn’t edit the goals on the Apple Watch, which is ridiculous because it’s extremely easy to do on the Watch. Fortunately I didn’t spend too much money on this but regret every penny I did. Frequently in the middle of my daily 4 mile walk, the steps app will send an alert saying I’ve been sitting too long and have to move around. This happens often during the day, usually when I’m walking. It’s really garbage and I don’t understand why it’s been rated so highly. Perhaps if people use this solely as a pedometer and not link it to a phone or watch it could be helpful, but that doesn’t explain the annoying alerts that’s tell me to move when I’m already moving. Can’t wait to get rid of it!

Response to developer:
I did have this synced with Apple Health from the start. Always sent me annoying alerts that I’ve been sitting too long while I’m out walking. Much happier since I deleted this!

Steps to Success

Very good app. I’m 68 y/o and I’m slowing down. StepsAppPedometer lets me know how many more steps to reach my goal of 5,000 steps per day. I’m a busy Teacher/Nurse. When I first started this, I was disappointed with how few steps I was taking when I thought I was walking a marathon...ok...a half marathon. Seriously, I was just trying to get 5,000 steps. I found that by walking the long hall instead of the short one I could get in 500 more steps. Then I would add on another longer route to where I was going and add a few more steps, etc. After 3 weeks, I finally conquered 5,300 steps today! Yessss! Now that I’m taking my classes to clinical, I won’t have to worry about reaching my goal for the remainder of the semester since I will exceed 5,000+ each day. Then I start over for the Spring Semester. Excellent app...is helping me a lot. Maybe I’ll try for 6,000 steps. : )

Great App

I use StepsAppPedometer every day for general step count and Outdoor walking. I found it to be very accurate until recently. When I walk outdoors my steps are tracked separately from my general steps until I stop the Outdoor Walk, then it combines the total steps in the general count. Recently I have noticed a difference in the counts. As an example, today I had already walked about 3654 general steps and then turned on Outdoor Walk. When the Outdoor walk was finished, I was showing that Walk at 10,642 steps, yet my total step count is only 6,539, when I thought it would be 17,281. This is the second time I have noticed this type discrepancy in the past two weeks. Also, would much prefer a way to reach out to Steps APP support, other than doing a review. If it is in StepsAppPedometer , then please make it easier to find. I don’t do social media...

Great Application Focused on Health.

My wife has been using the StepsApp for months. It took only days to realize the Pro Version was going to be well worth the extremely reasonable yearly subscription. A total win. Last month a had a very rough full open heart surgery and StepsAppPedometer has been a blessing. Together with Apple Health and StepsApp I have everything on my rest that keeps my walking up to date, which makes my Cardiologist happy. Additionally, we have needed to call for support and also contacted them for a bit of guidance. Simply said the folks at StepsApp they have responded extremely quickly and are extremely helpful. StepsApp in coordination with Apple Health, a win win. I highly recommend StepsAppPedometer. And look forward to what they bring next that will add to the Excellent Apple Health applications.

Steps App

If you have a pocket, put your phone in it when you go for a walk. Not only will your phone keep you safe if you need to contact someone because you have fallen, been hit by a car, etc. -your phone can also tell you how many steps you have taken. StepsAppPedometer can also tell you how far you’ve gone, and provide other facts about your daily exercise. At the end of the week it will give you a report and suggestions. In addition it is VERY simple to operate because you don’t have to do anything. I also have a watch which I find VERY difficult to use. I have friends who quickly mastered the intricacies of their watches. The watches were designed by millennials for millennials…people who love technology and quickly grasp it. That’s not me.

Good App for anyone who walks

I started walking at the being of the CoronaVirus March 2020. I’ve have has 3 back surgeries but thanks to a great chiropractor he got me to walk again! Each day I walked a little more & a little more & realized I needed to keep track of my steps. Ex: in October 2020 I walked 155 miles & it counted every step of it.

I needed a step counter that was easy to use & offered me other options also. This one is so easy, it counts my steps, gives me a goal, does daily counts, weekly breakdowns & overall monthly stats, anyone can use StepsAppPedometer without a problem. It set my goal step count for height & weight & I can easily adjust if I wanted to. This has been an outstanding app for me & I truly recommend it highly. Thanks my life has certainly changed for the better…

Great Motivator

Being 65 y/o I wanted to start back slowly into walking & eventually back to the elliptical. I thought about buying a pedometer but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on one that would track more than just steps. Fitbit is just too out of my price range so I figured let’s look at some apps. I read the reviews of a lot of different ones but this one caught my eye. What can I say? After less than a week I bought the full version. It motivates and challenges me to meet my daily goal. Which is great because it gets me on my feet and moving! I adjusted the daily goal to fit my needs so not to get discouraged if I didn’t reach 10,000 steps. I’m determined to work my way to the 10k daily as a long term goal. Thank you for this great motivational app! Love it!

Daily Goals

I really love StepsApp. I will definitely change my star rating to 5 stars if StepsAppPedometer would allow daily goals to be individualized. When I set a daily goal for a certain amount of steps depending on what I’m doing that day then it changes my past daily goals to the current day. There are some days that I know I’m going to be very busy at work at my desk so I set my goals according to that. StepsAppPedometer helps me remember that I have a goal to meet. But then on a Sunday when my husband and I are going to be lazy I prefer to set my goals low and not worry about whether I meet them or not. Like I said then all of my other daily goals change to match. I was disappointed when I discovered what I consider a flaw in StepsAppPedometer . I did choose to buy StepsAppPedometer thinking maybe that would upgrade but it didn’t. I still love StepsAppPedometer but I wish the daily goals were separated.

Mostly good, but could be better

I like StepsAppPedometer, but it’s not accurate for flights of stairs. I live on the third floor of an old building with high ceilings. That’s 21 steps up, walk 15 steps down the hall to the next flight, and then another 18 steps up. StepsAppPedometer calls that 1 flight of stairs. I did laundry an went up those stairs 6 times, that’s 12 flights. StepsAppPedometer counted it as 5.

Also, what if I leave my phone behind as I walk down and in back to take out the trash? I know that’s at least 200 steps going down, out back and coming back up. But there’s no way to add those steps manually.

Also, StepsAppPedometer doesn’t let you decrease your goals always. I could with the steps, but not with the stairs.

Other than all that, I like using StepsAppPedometer. It makes counting my steps fun.

****

Reply to developer who attempted to “help.” READ MY REVIEW: I said how long/ tall the flights are here. This is an old bldg. with 10/12 ft. ceilings. And I ALREADY sync with my Apple Health app. And the rest of that crap about turn on or turn of the sensor? It’s gobbledegook. I want an easy app to count my steps. And I want to be able to manually correct it or add flights or steps that got missed. I do not want to program that myself and I shouldn’t have to. You are StepsAppPedometer developer. This is your app. Your job is to do the programming. So. Do. It.

The best gets better!

This is simply the best steps app on iOS!! The latest version makes it even better. Beautiful design and layouts. Always accurate.

EDIT: everything is great with the new update however the developers have chosen to include in app sounds that the only way you can disable is by turning your phones sounds off. To be sitting in a quiet room and check your steps only to hear a jungle when you reach your goal is not what I want. A simple in app option to disable sounds would be great, but they chose not to include that.

EDIT2: Wow! Fantastic response from the developers to include the option in StepsAppPedometer turn off sounds. Kudos and thank you. Back to 5 stars for sure!!

Stepping Up My Game

I enjoy StepsAppPedometer. My iPhone already has step tracking included in the health app, but with StepsApp it simplifies it and organizes it nicely. With the ease of use it allows me to see where I am throughout that day and allows me to push myself to make my goals. My only suggestion would be to have the option of working off of a 24-hour clock instead of a calendar. Reason being is that I travel internationally weekly and as I go back and forth between the time zones my steps get all thrown off and reorganized. Plus, I would like for StepsAppPedometer to allow for more colors to preset, maybe a color wheel for more customization other than a handful of colors. Other than that I’m in Love with StepsAppPedometer.

Steps notifications are inaccurate.

Overall, a nice beautiful app that functions well. But I feel like I won’t be using it as much now that I have the Fitness app on the Apple Watch. One huge annoyance about StepsAppPedometer though are the notifications. There is one in particular that is supposed to notify you when you’ve been sitting down for too much and you need to get up and walk... well that would be great if it worked! I can’t tell you now many times I’ve been walking around or just finished a work out and then sit down only to receive a notification seconds later saying I’ve been sitting around too long and need to get up and move... REALLY?! I JUST sat down from walking... and you’re telling me I’ve been sitting too long and need to get up? That’s a joke. No thanks StepsApp.

Amazing!!!

StepsAppPedometer has saved me so much times. I am in 5th grade and StepsAppPedometer is very easy to use. Apple watches are not allowed at my school 😢 so I have to wear my old Garmin watch. It syncs with apple healh so I don't want to look at my phone every time I want to know how many steps I have taken, so I was on the hunt for an app that will sync apple healh data to my watch. I came across ActivityTracker, and that was $1.99, but still awesome. Then after about 3-4 months, StepsAppPedometer stopped working and wouldn't sync. I re-downloaded StepsAppPedometer and it still did not work!!! I was really angry😡😡! Then I found StepsApp! StepsAppPedometer is easy to use, and if you have an apple watch, I recommend buying StepsApp Pro! I have been using this since my other app died and it has been a rock star! It syncs AUTOMATICALLY which is a bigger deal than you think, because it will save you so much times!

Thank you StepsApp!! 😀👏🌟

Great Widget Integration

StepsAppPedometer is great. Be sure to take advantage of the widgets on the widget screen and by 3D touching (long press on any device come iOS 13) the home screen icon. Watch StepsAppPedometer or the widget update in near real time as you walk with a cool animation thrown in for extra polish.

Great app. Great system integration. Reward the great development and pay the modest price to upgrade to the paid version. I did and I’m just sitting on my couch most of the time.

The walking guy icon does not animate when your sitting on the couch. You will have to actually get up and walk around to see StepsAppPedometer in action. A demo mode so you can remain on the couch would be a nice feature. But for now you will have to actually get on your feet and move to see the step tracking features. So there’s room for improvement.

Keep stepping!

I love everything about StepsAppPedometer. I’ve used it faithfully for two years, and carried it with me through four phone upgrades. I utilize the premium service. The minimal cost is nothing compared to the benefit I get. I love how it syncs with my watch, and that I can choose the color I want to see in both my app and on my wrist. I have successfully gone from a size 26 to a size 10, and StepsAppPedometer is a tool I used everyday during that weight loss, and I’m still using it now. I would, and have, recommend(ed) StepsAppPedometer to anyone. It’s fun, easy to use, and I’m not sure I would have dropped that weight, in a healthy manner, without tracking my Stepz! 💜💜💜💜💜

Discouraging/ Discouraging, PART 2

At first I really liked StepsAppPedometer. Now, not so much. At times it does not count my stair climb. I have 12 foot high ceilings and therefore “proper “ height stairs. Sometimes I get credit other times I do not. Same flight of stairs. VERY discouraging. Is it because I’m elderly (72), have arthritis in both knees and do not dash up the stairs like a 30 year old?
Also, other reviewers have mentioned, the step count can be way off: I have a two acre property and I walk the perimeter at least once a day StepsAppPedometer will count only a couple 100 steps. That total is obviously way off.
I was hoping that your new update would fix these problems. Unfortunately it did not fix these bugs. This also is most discouraging. Please advise. Thank you, Jan

Part 2: my reply to the developer to the developer of Steps App:

I understand the difference between steps (horizontal) and flights (vertical); I also know how to find the number of “floors” in your app. My floors are almost five meters high. Therefore your app should count them. My complaint is that your app does not always count the number of flights that I climb accurately. Sometimes StepsAppPedometer does count them correctly sometimes it does not. I find this very frustrating.
Please advise. Thank you, Jan

Works really well and super helpful, however...

I gave it 4 *’s instead of 5 because it does count steps you’re not taking if you move your phone the wrong way... side to side/shaking type movements. If you’re looking for a spot on accurate step counter, fit bit type watches might be the better option... they are however 35-$150. If you you’re fine with a fairly accurate... maybe 50-70 off per 1000 at worst... that is also FREE (deluxe no ads etc version $2.99) then this ones is just great. I’m just looking to hit around 8-12k per day and want a reasonable idea of what I’m hitting. I do intend to get a fit bit eventually so I don’t have to have my phone with me to record steps. This is awesome for now though.

Work out app

So I got StepsAppPedometer and liked how it tells you your steps, how much you lost for calories, and how many miles u ran. The reason why I’m giving StepsAppPedometer 4 stars is because I got StepsAppPedometer two days ago. When I got it it showed that I used StepsAppPedometer already the whole week. Idk why it did this but at first I thought it was a public app for people to see what u have done and for u to see what they have done. I know I’m wrong but besides that it is much like a fit bit and maybe even better!! I recommend u getting StepsAppPedometer because I can see a change on what I look like, terrific job! Well done. I use it every day and it is a real improvement! 😆
