Syncing Between Services

2022-11-22

Pathetic attempt at an app that is required to use Wacom devices. At the very least, please please PLEASE provide a way to auto-sync notes with Evernote or Dropbox. The advertising makes it seem like this is easy, but you soon discover that syncing notes is a manual process. Select each note and export; oh, and the user will have to keep track of which notes have already been synced.

You make great hardware, Wacom! Leave the software development to companies that know what they’re doing!

App needs better note management capabilities

2022-12-23

App is far too basic. There is no way to combine notes. So if you sync and then want to add something to the same page --> impossible!

This can not be by design but must be an error. Please fix asap.

Cannot sync my slate to iphone

2023-01-24

I have iOs 15.5 SE
Should be compatible but cant sync my device to my phone.
Think i have to return and just get an ipad

I don’t have the devices you want me to pair

2023-02-25

I have an older Wacom product add all the Wacom products

Wish it would work with my Wacom Intuos pro

2023-03-26

As the title suggests I was expecting WacomInkspaceApp to work with my Wacom intuos pro like WacomInkspaceApp suggested but it won’t connect with it. Might connect with other Wacom products but I hope WacomInkspaceApp would of work for my tablet like I wanted to since my computer died and I wanted to make digital art again with my tablet.

Execution too poor to even bother

2023-04-27

My boyfriend bought me the bamboo slate. I do a lot of art, lots of physical with/and digital. He was thinking I could lay out a drawing with pen using the slate's provided notepad, then edit it digitally with WacomInkspaceApp .

WacomInkspaceApp was useless for anything useful. I have a paid digital art/editing app I could upload the original image to in order to do anything beyond semi-decent, but wasn't worth it...

First, to clear up what many have mentioned: no, you really can't do much useful editing at all to your work once you've uploaded to WacomInkspaceApp .

Second, why I don't even use the tablet and what I was leading to initially: linework uploads misaligned. I'm very careful to keep the notepaper that was provided in place while working; no matter what, linework uploads completely astray. Drawings are butchered using WacomInkspaceApp...

Finally, In truth, WacomInkspaceApp and device isn't really much any better than taking a photo of handwritten notes/drawings and editing them with your basic phone photo editing features. If the linework uploaded properly, I could save the media from WacomInkspaceApp and transfer it to my digital media/art app. But it's not worth it.

Notebook View and Page Skim Feature

2023-05-28

Bamboo slate smart pad is good. WacomInkspaceApp is bad. WacomInkspaceApp functionality for storing and revisiting your prior notes is extremely poor. (1)First, MAKE INKSPACE THUMBNAIL VIEW REGTANGULAR INSTEAD OF SQARE! The note we take and save is rectangular in shape. I do not understand why the thumbnail page view in Wacom inkspace is all square shape with only the view of the center part of each page. You cannot see the complete note page by looking at the thumbnail page view, making it extremely difficult to identify and locate the note you want. You have to literally open up each page in order to find the page you want. (2) Second, ADD SLIDE BAR QUICK PAGE VIEW. The current notebook browsing function is poor. You have to open up each page and flip each page one by one to browse the notes you take and locate the page you need. When at full page view, why can’t you add a slide bar at the bottom, so people can slide the bar to quickly browse all pages in full page view, just like Kindle app book browsing function. Generally, I feel WacomInkspaceApp is designed to work on individual pages, not designed for people who needs to take real notes. You need to make note storing and browsing more functional and make the digital notebook in Inkspace more useful like a real notebook, in order to make WacomInkspaceApp and the Bamboo Slate more useful and meaningful.

App needs some work

2023-06-29

WacomInkspaceApp has limited features. Unlike videos that Wacom shows to buyers purchasing bamboo spark, WacomInkspaceApp has no feature to highlight written text in multi colors. No feature to file the images under different topics, or tag them for easy classification.

Registering for Inkspace cloud with google is not working. The page just lands up nowhere.

The menu/help section shows a link to download another app called bamboo paper. Again, when u click on it, it reaches a dead link on Wacom and u get a 404 not found.

Poor

2023-07-30

I agree with previous reviewer. I am writing notes on Bamboo Paper app on surface and there is no way on WacomInkspaceApp to revisit these same notes on my phone at all. Terrible

MULTIPLE SELECT FOR TAGS

2023-08-31

PLEASE PLEASE make an update for WacomInkspaceApp that would add ONE THING: that one could have the ability to select MULTIPLE pages within a selected tag-group of pages!!! With this, I will be able to export my pages in organized groups to my one drive waaaay faster than I would have to now. I am aware that you can select multiple pages to export when on the home screen, BUT, when viewing my home screen, I cannot always tell the difference between a page of my notes that is tagged under one thing and another page that is tagged under something else. The tag groups are sufficient enough organization for my needs, however, I need to export these pages to an app that is compatible with the Apple Watch (one drive) without having to re-organize every single page I export to my one drive one by one.

PLEASE MAKE THIS SMALL ADDITION IN AN UPDATE ASAP! IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Don't really get the point

2023-10-02

To use WacomInkspaceApp, you have to purchase a device manufactured by Wacom that costs about $150.

This device consists of a pad of regular paper and a regular ballpoint pen plus configuration that allows you to sync a drawing made (with the regular ballpoint on the regular paper) to the Bamboo Spark Web site.

From there you can export your drawings to apps (like Bamboo Paper)color the drawings in the apps, export them elsewhere, email them, etc.

The feature is that you get to use paper for your original drawing, which is advertised as being more natural. You can then use the setup to share your work with others.

This does not particularly appeal to me. There are so many good drawing apps in WacomInkspaceApp Store, and you can use them just to share your work with everybody. I can forego the opportunity to spend $150 for the "more natural" experience of using paper. Even if I do decide to use paper, I can use the camera on my device to scan my drawings into any app that I choose.

Free conversion to Text

2023-11-02

Mixed thoughts on app since prior it would allow one to convert the written notes imported to text when emailing them. Now when trying it simply says Operation Failed. Their website says Bamoo Spark can do this and now their free 855 support line says it is a premium feature yet nothing said about that when you install WacomInkspaceApp plus no in-app purchase for that feature which, might be a inkspace purchase on the Wacom cloud account. Still trying to sort that now presently. Text conversion was not perfect though ok before that feature stopped working.

Usability issues and weak features

2023-12-04

Navigation has no indicator of how to move back, no arrows and no X's. Via ESP or magic you have to know to tap the plain black header.

Box of the Bamboo Slate shows color being used in app. I assumed this was in Inkspace because Bamboo Paper is not available on the phone. I was wrong or this functionality is hidden for some weird reason.

Still functions at a minimum level for me but it is rather disappointing. I am not sure how long I will continue to use it.

Great app for a great pen and paper

2024-01-04

I just bought the Bamboo Spark pen and accompanying paper folder. I love it. Because I rather write on paper than stylus on iPad. I have tried many many stylus'. None of them can give you the feel of the paper.

I am just hoping that Wacom continue improving WacomInkspaceApp to be able to set up folders, categories, and tags.

Awaiting Handwriting Text Recognition

2024-02-05

Hoping Wacom adds handwriting text recognition soon to WacomInkspaceApp and the Wacom Bamboo Spark. This would save a ton of time in not having to retype my notes. Also hope they offer Evernote integration as well. The device would be a killer for students and business alike if they added these features. Keep up the great work and hope to see these features soon.

I’d like to suggest a feature to add.

2024-03-08

Their should be an option to go back to a previous page and add more content. I organize my notes with a different topic on each page and will add an idea to the appropriate topic page as it comes to mind. It’s current setup has got me rethinking if the bamboo slate is right for me? Aside from that everything else has been fine.

Everything works finally! Except line thicknesses...

2024-04-07

Keep in mind I'm not using the subscription, I'm only using this with my bamboo slate. Everything I write down on my slate while I'm away from my iPad gets backed up painlessly through Bluetooth, ZERO backup issues all my notes have been saved, no weird crashes or problems. The slate stays on for 15 minutes without activity just perfect for meeting and conferences. Two Major issues, Number 1. Line thickness, all line thicknesses are the same, either really thick or just thick, almost no difference, it feels like the pen sensitivity is stuck between two settings "thick" and "very thick". Number 2. Resolution appears to be 300dpi, as an artist I find this unacceptable, I'd rather pay many times more to have my lines drawn exactly as they are on my pad. What does this mean if you are taking notes? It's ok and acceptable, but for artwork it's UNACCEPTABLE. Lines drawn at an angle show up jagged, circles and arcs look jagged too. This means that even with considerable skill the line work looks like it was drawn in MS Paint. Don't get me wrong, this is really good for students and note taking, I'm keeping my slate and I LOVE WacomInkspaceApp because it JUST WORKS! But as a tool for artists this is quite limited. It needs pen line weight sensitivity and higher dpi.

Please add ability to apply multiple tags at once

2024-05-09

Good update, would be nice to add multiple tags at once without the screen backing out after selecting one tag.

Great for writing

2024-06-09

I spend all day at work on a computer. When I want to write, the thought of spending even more time at the keyboard is not appealing at all. Increased risk of repetitive motion injuries is also a concern.

Writing in a notebook has been my alternative but that comes with its own issues - mainly transcribing my hand written notes onto a computer which is tedious and kind of defeats the purpose of hand writing in the first place.

So I bought a Bamboo Slate. I hand write on the Slate and the use WacomInkspaceApp to transform my handwritting into editable text. I then export text into a note in the Notes app on my phone. Inkspace lets me export new pages to an existing note so it’s easy to keep pages in order.

Inkspace does a good job of translating my handwriting into text. It is teaching me to be a little more careful - dotting my i’s etc. I can’t fault WacomInkspaceApp for errors where my handwritting would give a human reader trouble.

I sync to my phone after every page and it has worked flawlessly so far.

My one minor issue is that the editable text has a return at the end of each written line. So a little additional clean up required to get returns only at the end of paragraphs. It would be helpful if I could enable a mode where text was translated without returns unless I wrote a paragraph symbol - or something like that. Or just treat the page as a single line of text; it would be easier to add 2 or 3 returns than deleting a lot of extraneous returns. I’d give WacomInkspaceApp 5 stars with that feature.

So Bamboo Slate let’s me write my initial draft without typing and then easily convert it to editable text for further editing and archiving.

I do get the point!

2024-07-11

Working in a corporate environment I have to take notes. I am a career IT guy and I always end up back to pad and paper. It is the best medium for me. I have no less than 5 paid note taking apps and they are just too difficult I. Too many situations. The Bamboo Spark is very good tool for me and the OCR is rather amazing. It's worth every dollar.
