Easy to use yes, handy presets, and easy to create custom ranges or max temp alarms.
HOWEVER- the graphing function is basically useless. Go out of range for a split second, graph history lost. Put app in background and lock your phone to open up a little later, graph history lost. I’m currently 6 hours into an 8lb shoulder which I would have liked to see the entire cook profile. I have a spare phone I have sitting near the grill so there’s no chance of losing connection or accidentally closing EasyBBQ - yet still THREE separate times now I opened my phone to check on progress and for whatever reason the graph reset, losing the entire history to that point. I never write reviews but this has me annoyed enough to warn against what I though would be a very handy ‘feature’. Hopefully developer reads this and offers some sort of update to allow graph history to be saved for at least a 24hr period so you can actually follow the entire cook even if connection is lost briefly.

C'mon man. You've got a great probe tool. Easy to follow and use App. Modern day outside cooking. You're there. BUT, It's like you quit before finishing EasyBBQ . Everybody has commented on it. 1) keep the temp rise history until the cook is complete. 2) fix the scaling so it's more visually useful. 3) add smart watch app so you can see the temp without carrying the phone. Dude, increase sales and brag to your friends how you've got the best in class probes and app in the world. Price is right to own the market. Get bought by Traeger. Go buy a ranch in Hawaii. But first, finish the dang app! And really, fixing just number 1 would make a lot of people happy. Fix all three, start planning retirement.

So this is a great app to work with my multi probe thermometer.

The only real problem I see here is the history of your smoker. As stated in a previous review, you lose all your history including your graft the second your Bluetooth is interrupted which happens quite frequently. Sometimes just sitting within range, because of this defect in EasyBBQ program, the graft feature in EasyBBQ is totally useless.

If it weren’t for that one issue I would give this five stars. However I was even considering giving it only three stars because of this simple issue that could easily be fixed with a firmware update

If the graph function could show data for the whole cook time I would give it a 5 star review. It seems like EasyBBQ needs a background app refresh option or some other fix because every time my phone goes to sleep EasyBBQ stops collecting data. When you wake your phone to look at EasyBBQ the graph starts all over again from the new time that you just woke up your phone from. It doesn’t show previous history from earlier times in the same cook session.
I bought this Bluetooth thermometer because I cook a brisket for 18 hours and I want to see a gradual climb in temperature and also see when the temperature increase stalls. EasyBBQ is not good for that only because of the graph history problem.

I use EasyBBQ a lot. However as others have said, when you lose bluetooth you lose the chart. When doing long form cooking (such as smoking meats) this means I not only lose the meat temp (where the slope of the line is useful) but I also lose the smoke temp history, which is needed for tracking flavor. I hope the developer will fix this so that missing data is just missing from the chart, rather than resetting the whole chart.

I have a basic MasterBuilt smoker that I use probably every other week and use this app to monitor my time and temp. As Scrabble2012 pointed out - when you get out of range, you lose the cooking history. That's one thing that would be great to fix. Plus being able to shift the temp at various cooking times, but I can set multiple timers using different 6 different probes based on temp or time, so I can get it done that way. The loss of cooking data is the only gap in EasyBBQ if the goal is to keep it simple (as the name "Easy" implies).

I’m being a little harsh on a 1 star review as I love the general product but if history disappears and the alarms never go off unless you have EasyBBQ open on your phone it’s kind of pointless. If this is user error, please reach out, explain to me and I will update my rating. I shouldn’t ever loose blue tooth connection I’m 50’ from the pit and it never appears to happen but I can’t keep history or ever get an alarm to come through. At the very least I’d expect an alarm if it disconnected (sometimes I get those but not when I go to bed expecting to get an alarm if the unit is out of temperature bounds).

I have a 6 input wireless thermometer that recommends EasyBBQ. Unfortunately, EasyBBQ has some terrible features. You can’t change the scale or zoom in on either the time scale or the temperature when viewing the graphs. A vertical scale with ticks for 0, 41, and 141° is not useful at all for determine how fast the temp is rising. Also, only showing time ticks every 10-30 minutes is pretty useless for deterring rise rates too.

Also, if you EVER disconnect, EasyBBQ erases all of the logging history.

Developers, please add the ability to zoom in and change the scales on the graphs. Also, do not erase the entire temperature log every time the probe disconnects.

I purchase one of these over a year ago. I have 4 probes. The device connects to my phone flawlessly. The probes are easy to identify and manage. I liked this system so much, I just ordered another system with 2 extra probes for my Yacht. The interface is easy to use and has an intuitive set up. With 6 separately programed probes, cooking multiple dinners to individual liking is easy.

EasyBBQ has a lot of good features and the connectivity is good for home use. However there are definitely some shortcomings.

For example, I LOVE the graph function as it is super helpful when doing long low and slow smokes. However, the chart doesn’t save and will often reset mid session. You should be able to save your graphs and graphs should not clear mid session.

There should also be a quick way to modify temperature targets without having to modify the entire preset.

I would also love to have multiple temperature targets. I like to get alerted around 145 degrees when doing smoking so I can pay attention and identify the stall. Then I have to change the target again for my final temperature. It would be nice to be able to set multiple target temperatures as the cook moves along.

Works basically like it should with no major issues. Connects fine, all probes work, at least for me. As long as you set a range or final temp, the graph works well. Let’s you put in custom ranges and temperatures.

Improvements:
1) ability to save cooking sessions, at least temporarily. This is needed for both reference next time and in case it disconnects, which happens if EasyBBQ freezes, which it does from time to time. It’ll reconnect in a second but you can’t see the graph anymore if it freezes or you walk out of range.
2) ability to zoom in and out of the graph would be helpful for long cooks

Can’t stress enough that it needs at least a temporary memory of the current cooking session, but saving it forever would be even better.

Other people have pointed this out, but I wanted to mention it again. The temperature charting is very helpful, until the temp gets to 250 or so, but it does track down to 0 degrees, so you can tell if your grill is freezing. The lack of memory is also baffling. If and when EasyBBQ closes in the background, you lose your history.

It would be a 5 star app, if these features are added.

There’s quite a bit of bad reviews but I have had nothing but great luck with the device and iPhone app.

I’m always somewhat near my smoker or because of other reviews I’ll leave my phone within distance. I love the charts which help me predict when I need to act on the food and provide my wife an estimate for other side dishes she’s working on. The presets are helpful and custom ones are even more awesome.

My only requests for future updates are:
1. Retain history if a connection is lost
2. Add Apple Watch feature

I would pay for a pro version that includes those features.

EasyBBQ is great! Simple to use and simple layout design. What I am hoping for next in an update is really for this to be able to display on my Apple Watch. Simple display options would be great...have it cycle thru the probes with color designation or even have option to show 3 at a time on the watch then swipe left to see the remaining 3.

I don't know if this works with more than one of the thermometer type, but I am very pleased with the thermometer and EasyBBQ .
- It comes with several temperature presets.
- I can have my own peak temperature or temperature range.
- I am usually 150 feet from my kitchen and have no problems communicating between my phone and the device.
- Since I've had this I have not burned ANYTHING.

All the graph data disappears after awhile and is lost. Need to restart app when this happens. Also the alarms do not go off on my iPhone. I only see the notification on the screen. The base unit alarm does sound but that doesn’t help when I’m away from it.

Works as advertised. Would be nice if user could set the graph x-axis like a timer, starting at 0, and start and stop graphing with a button. Also would be nice if the chart would not truncate top of curve when no preset temperature is being used. Lastly, would be great to name and save the recorded charts and retrieve them later.

Am using EasyBBQ to measure exhaust temperature from home coffee roaster using Habor wireless thermometer.

Two glaring problems:
The first is that EasyBBQ locks a little more than an hour after starting. This happens essentially 100% of the time for me. I have an iPhone XR with up to date iOS.
When EasyBBQ reboots, you lose all temp history. Very annoying if you are smoking something that takes hours.
The second problem is that the temperature graph goes from zero to ~300 degrees (top not labeled), and there is no way (that I can find at least) to adjust the scale.
I have had EasyBBQ for a year or two and it has been updated a couple of times during that time. There is no excuse for not fixing the lock up problem.
I just bought a new smoker thermometer that uses EasyBBQ, although pictures it should looked like a different app. I will be returning that thermometer.

Easy to set up and use. Similar complaint with other review that the graph resets if you get out of Bluetooth range and then come back.

The bigger issue for me is that the alarms are not ringing on my phone while the screen is locked. This is going to be troublesome when it comes to big cuts of meat that I’ll need to be woken up in the middle of the night for. Currently I can only see the alarm when I go back into my phone.

EasyBBQ isn’t updated to support phones with faceID yet so major UI features are hidden. The graphs are useless. If you don’t set a temp initially, and then set a temperature, the previous graph is erased. It should remember the temp from while the device is turned on and the probe is plugged into that port. It’s almost impossible to edit existing presets and you can’t reorder them manually or alphabetically or any other way.

I use EasyBBQ with my Opral smart wireless thermometer set. I like the temperature tracking, temperature presets, and alarms. It makes smoking foods easier. The one thing I don’t like about EasyBBQ is if you close out EasyBBQ or go out of range from the physical thermometer station, all of the graph data is lost and cannot see how the cooking/smoking trend goes.

The product is great, 6 temperature proves to play with. Highly recommend this and have told a number of friends.

EasyBBQ does have some limits that other reviewers have mentioned. Scaling on the graph is low. Great range for food but if you use a probe to monitor the grate temp, it’s too low. It doesn’t store data so lost connection means lost graph data.

On the plus side, the Bluetooth connection is great, I don’t lose connection anywhere around my house, so if your device is close the graphs are good.

In all, I still recommend the product and EasyBBQ . Some changes, however, would make EasyBBQ even better.

2 of the biggest issues people seem to be having that I find super annoying as well

1. The phone seems to disconnect from device randomly and therefor alarm won’t sound

2. All history is lost upon disconnection

Regarding the first issue the only thing I was able to do to workaround it was leave the phone open and unlocked near my bed and it would remain connected as well as alarm as needed . You do need to turn off auto lock in device so it doesn’t go into sleep mode(that seems to disconnect it as well

Regarding the second issue I have no workaround except take screen shots as often as possible .

Other then that device is fine. Good luck and I hope the developers see this and make necessary changes!

I bought it mainly to monitor overnight cooks on my smoker but EasyBBQ will crash after a certain period of time and will not notify you if your barrel temp drops below your set point. I went to bed thinking it would alarm if the temp dropped below my set point. Man was I wrong...EasyBBQ froze and my smoker ended up having a flame out and I had to throw out 30 lbs worth of pork shoulder because the stupid thing froze up and didn’t alarm out on the low temp set point. Worthless app...

Great product but does not keep any info and if you lose connection does not have any info for that time. Would give better review if it would work on iPad. If you have to get out of range, someone else needs to download app on their phone and be closer to the sensors. If you are smoking with it can get a little inconvenient. Would prefer to use on iPad.
It has presets for all sorts of meats and doneness.
