Terrible for school

I am in grad school and want an alternative to OneNote for taking class notes. I thought this was going to be the perfect app, but I was so very wrong. First, this doesn’t let me arrange the notes in the order I want. I only have 3 options: date created, date modified, name. None of those work for me. Second, grouping notes is tedious and time consuming. With the number of slide sets I have to import for each class, it will take way too much time for me to keep them organized. I want an app that saves me time! Finally, WhinkNotes will not let me take notes outside of the slide space (I cannot scroll to the right, for example, to add info). This gives me way too little space in which to take notes for a slide. I’m sorry I ever purchased WhinkNotes and wish I could get my $5 back.

So close yet so far.

Pros:
Smooth writing experience
Notebook layout

Cons:
No specific Apple Pencil settings (double tap, pressure sensitivity, etc.)
Only three pen sizes (TINY, perfect, BLOB)
Only specific color palettes, no custom colors

And one REALLY annoying thing is: every time you tap undo it jumps straight to the TOP OF THE NOTEBOOK.
Believe me, when you have a notebook that’s 50 pages long, you don’t wanna be doing that multiple times while taking notes. 🙄😒

This is coming from someone who used WhinkNotes for 5 months to give it a shot.
If WhinkNotes had these features and also fixed undo hit box, I would be a happy camper.
Noteshelf it is for me until these are fixed!

Needs updates

Purchased for PDF editing. Doesn't have a native PDF import feature. Also PDF hyperlink's don't work. Other features seem to work well.

Ok, not good

WhinkNotes is ok, and maybe good depending on what you want it to do. I was hoping it could compete with those $10 note taking apps, but it doesn’t. It doesn’t use the speech to text feature like the pre-installed notes app on the device. This is critical when I use it to help with my dyslexic daughter. Also, it cannot convert handwriting to text. It would be nice if you could have pressure sensitivity for the Apple pen or more pen choices on board.

Ok

I expected handwriting recognition and was disappointed that my hand written notes were not converted to type written notes. However, the shapes work quite well, so I was pleased about that. There do not seem to be very good instructions, but you can get them if you go looking.

It’s Okay. Some features I love. Missing some I can’t live without

First off, I love the sleek design of WhinkNotes and the icon itself is gorgeous. I also LOVE that you can make all the menus basically invisible. This is sooo very nice. Also the “ink” is awesome in WhinkNotes. Those features make it really hard to say no to, but it’s missing some crucial things for me.

First of all, the organization/file tree needs some work. I don’t like that I can’t have a cover for my group. I don’t like that there is not list view.

The covers themselves are a little lack luster with no way to add a personalized one. Also, the fact that you can’t edit a cover once you create a note is a travesty.

The lines are too big as I prefer smaller writing. I have the same problem with the microscope

It also annoys me that whenever I enter a document it defaults to pen so I inevitably mark something on accident. It should default to view only as this is usually the first thing you do upon opening a note.

I feel like the design lent itself more to a page-turn design to I was a little disappointed by the infinite scroll. That’s just nit picky though.

I hope that these things are fixed in the future as I’d love to be using WhinkNotes.

Almost Perfect

This is the best reader/note app I have found on AppStore. Giving 4 stars because it is missing some features I think will be useful.

It's good!

It'd be nice if when it printed, it formatted to the page better, so I didn't have to waste so much paper, but I like it overall. Very fully featured in an unobtrusive way.

Highly recommend this app

Whink is a very convenient and reliable app that has made my life a lot easier. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a great note-taking app that's also visually appealing.

Decent note taking option

WhinkNotes has the potential to become a more compelling choice. Until then, it remains a good option for casual note-taking, but users seeking a more comprehensive and refined note-taking experience may want to explore other alternatives.

Cute but just one complaint

I like how easy WhinkNotes is to use and learn, and the audio recording is def helpful, but I just don’t like how there’s not more pens/pen colors. I also am not a fan of the fact that you can’t zoom in on the pages very far, but other than those things this is really an awesome app if you want something easy :)

Almost perfect.

Drop box not connecting. Would like additional pen sizes, the option to turn off pressure sensitivity, the option to not include the cover page or at least edit its format, support for additional backup services (such as google drive or one drive), the ability to move location of tool bar, the ability to add header and footers to documents, and the ability to create sub-folders.

My new favorite app for note taking

WhinkNotes is built for the IPad pro and the Apple Pencil! One of my favorite things is the ability to copy and paste text right onto the lines. The texts snaps to the lines, and you can make line or paragraph breaks and the edit with the Apple Pencil and write/annotate/notetake in between interacting with the type text.

SammyDuck

Whink is one of my favorite notetaking apps, and I use several. One of the most aesthetically pleasing apps I have.

Really like the text wrap around images—don’t see that in many notetakers. Also the drag and drop, cropping, and resizing of images are first rate as well.

Drawing with one’s finger or a simple capacitive stylus works well. Haven’t yet tried a smart stylus but should be smooth also.

Wish-fors? I’d like to see manual (drag and drop) list sorting of notes and drag-and-drop rearranging of list items within a note. Also merging or appending/prepending or compiling of notes in order to facilitate the structuring of longer manuscripts.

Quite pleased overall.

Great Application for GO!!!!

This is a fine and readily accessible application especially when you are on the go most of the time and ideas keep popping up that need writing down. Excellent resource.

Great app

Finally found a great app that would convert PowerPoint into pdf but I wish it had more pen colors and styles. Needs to allow the Apple Pencil support where you tap it and can change the tool your using.

Great app Plenty of Features

Great app. This is the best one I've tried, and I've tried several. Plenty of easy to use options.
For people who like to use there fingers just to write stuff fast.

So easy and fun to use!

This note taking app works very easily, clearly, understandably and is a lot of fun to use. Used as a journal for daily recording or note taking this application does it all!

All the good stuff, none of the dumb stuff

I’ve wanted to digitally hand write my journals for a long time, and WhinkNotes not only does that really well, it does everything else as well. I can type if I want, I can insert pictures, there are multiple paper types, I can make different notebooks - it’s good stuff. Really user friendly. Haven’t had any issues. I use it for basically everything, and I love it.

Whink- 'Must Have' App For School!

Whink is the most refreshing download in the recent times for me! I have literally scratched the surface of all the note-taking apps available for the iPad and came to the conclusion that this is the coolest new-age note taking app that also has a very easy and intuitive user interface. This is the single most important tool i carry to my school. To put it simply, it excels at all the necessary tasks that are expected from a note taking app and best of all is that at the end of the day, i can be rest assured that all my notes are safely backed up to the iCloud !!! What more could i ask for?! I highly recommend it. Go for it! Update 11/10 : The issue with WhinkNotes freezing is completely fixed now! Thanks for your immediate attention!
