Audio Only Mode

We have been using this camera and specifically this audio feature since our son was born in November. We leave the audio on at night while we sleep so we are woken up by any crying or fussing. Our bedroom is on the edge of our WiFi network so it regularly disconnects and reconnects.

Lollipop update has made it so when it disconnects the alarm is triggered and doesn’t attempt to reconnect without closing the audio only screen and reopening the connection. This has made the audio function unusable for us at night and will cause us to buy an audio monitor. We purchased this camera so we wouldn’t have to do this. We are greatly disappointed in the update and are unable to monitor our child tonight as we have for the last 6 months.

Used to be the best

I have used two of your cameras now for four years. One with my son and the other with my daughter.

When we first purchased our cameras, a few fixes needed to happen, but other than that, Lollipop and camera in their simplest form were flawless. I have recommended these cameras to anyone and everyone who asks us what camera to use.

If we do not see any fixes happen with Lollipop and camera functionality, we will not be recommending this camera to anyone, and we will be getting new ones.

Since the last few updates, we have not had any microphone capability to talk with our kids; we have entirely lost the ability to look back at our timeline to see recorded crying events or look back at any events. We have lost the ability for our family to share cameras even with full permissions tuned on. We have also lost hundreds of pictures stored on our camera roll before the update that put photos on the phone camera roll.

After looking at the reviews online, it seems this is not a troubleshooting issue; this is an application issue. I am begging you to please fix these issues. Go back to a previous version. Lollipop used to be functional and straightforward; now, it might as well be a paperweight.

Unreliable

This baby monitor has everything I want in a baby monitor...when it works. It disconnects from our internet daily, even though our WiFi connection is very strong throughout the house. I have to open and close Lollipop over and over to finally get it to connect, or completely reconnect to the network all together. Not to mention, how awful it is when it disconnects in the middle of the night and won’t reconnect (as it did last night). How annoying! I just want to simply be able to open up our this app app and know that I can safely monitor our child. I mean...isn’t that the point of a baby monitor? We are expecting baby #2 and I am so very frustrated that I will have to buy not only one new camera, but two because this one is not reliable.

Frustrating updates and time consuming

When the camera actually works, it’s great. The quality and features and beautiful. Have had this for five years-in the last couple months, the new updates have made in almost inoperable. The amount of time it takes to unplug, replug, disconnect, reset, sit there and wait for connection, restart WiFi, reset WiFi, etc is BEYOND FRUSTRATING. I used to get these problems once or twice every couple of months, and now it seems like I need to reset it every week. All of a sudden it just says “WiFi unavailable” ??? It’s in the same spot, with the same WiFi, with the same everything as it has been. Only now is it a problem after multiple years. Please fix!

App very unreliable and slow load time

Wanted to love this but very disappointed. We have fiber optic high speed internet and brand new iPhones. The live video feed takes forever to load (even when on same WiFi) and is horrible if trying to view it outside the home over the cloud. I took a business trip and trying to check in on my baby and nanny was a frustrating nightmare. Only worked 50% of the time and took minutes to load if ever. And if you exit Lollipop (to check a text or email) and go back into Lollipop the waiting game starts all over again. I’ve reset the cameras, updated software, updated Lollipop , unplugged it more times than I can count. Some app updates are better than others. Really regretting buying 2 of these cameras 10 months ago. Not worth the hassle.

Very disappointed

We were very excited about this monitor when we first got it. We loved the look of it as well as the ability to watch the monitor from our cell phone. However, we’ve been extremely disappointed by the real-time function of this monitor especially with the new app update. We can no longer look back on any of the live feed videos we used to be able to, the camera disconnects from our WiFi constantly, and we are unable to connect to the camera from Lollipop to play any music/sound. I’ve tried contacting support with no help. We’ve considered getting a new monitor, but this one cost $150. That is a lot of money to be wasted on this product that does not work the way it says it will. I would not recommend this product to any current or expecting parents.

Zero stars for the App and subscription

Camera is adorable and quality is superb. That’s the only good thing about this app though.

Lollipop crashes constantly. I subscribe to the full membership but have never gotten a successful connection with the BPM monitor [after 4 months of trying daily] most days it doesn’t even attempt to connect just sends an error to try again later. VERY irritating considering how much I’m paying for this service. Camera is placed at the recommended height, baby sleeps in tight pajamas with no blankets, toys, pillows etc. there is no reason is shouldn’t be able to find her.

Works well as a general baby monitor but in my experience doesn’t accurately or consistently provide any of the services that would make it worth the price— I will not be renewed g the subscriptions when it expires but I paid for the year so I’m stuck for now.

Please don’t make the same mistake as us.

Hopefully you still have a chance to return the this app. Overall my wife and I have not been pleased with the device. We’ve had it almost a year and time after time it’s failed to load without physically unplugging the device (which means walking into the nursery and usually waking the baby). The night vision is very temperamental e.g., if any light source comes on when it’s in night mode it goes black and requires you unplug it to force it to reset (I.e., hallway light gets turned on and it senses that light, it goes back to day time mode which means you can’t see your baby).
If you don’t have another monitor to watch through it will eat your phone battery. Additionally it’s not a live feed, it can be several seconds delayed even if you happen to have 500mbps download speed. Oh and none of the other features work with any reliability (at least on Apple products) such as using the microphone. There is no wireless option.
My suggestion is just to get a different brand that doesn’t look as aesthetically pleasing as this. Be practical and don’t make the same mistake as us.

Have to remove and reinstall the app to active the notifications pushing

I’ve used this camera for 11 months. Everything are great in the beginning, the night screen quality is good, Lollipop is easy to operate and the sleep tracking is amazing. But since I stop subscribing the premium plan everything are changed. When I open Lollipop to check the live screen it always take 10 seconds for connection and my wifi speed is good and was updated to the fastest speed. One day Lollipop stop to sending me the notifications, I didn’t know my son was crying until I walk by his room. I contacted the customer service and their response is ask me to remove and reinstall Lollipop . I did and the notifications pushing is back but stop after couple hours, I told them the issue is not resolved they never respond me.

Needs improvement

The camera and quality are good to start out with. I like that you can have different notifications.
However there are connectivity issues. Sometimes the live view just won’t work, it won’t load and the camera needs to be turned off then on. This is a baby camera, I need to be able to rely on it always working.
Another feature I wish it had was the ability to do noise alerts above a certain threshold. The camera tells you the decibel level but I can’t use it. I have white noise playing and I can’t trust the noise notification so I have to rely on crying alerts which aren’t always accurate.
Fix the connectivity problem please

Not Reliable Anymore (Was a Big Fan!)

I was an ardent fan of this app and was using it for 2 years since my kid was born. Lollipop had some connectivity issues all along but was manageable.

Off late, it’s become so unreliable that I cannot trust this device anymore. The position of the this app and my router hasn’t changed for over 18 months and now we are constantly facing network issues. After couple of hours of play or so, we are seeing the “Click play to continue viewing” or so message. This is so scary since we cannot hear the child anymore after we are asleep. When Lollipop was glitching like this, I could at least turn on background play to only hear the audio, but now the audio doesn’t work at all. It keeps saying that “background play is only available in the same WiFi network with camera” - even after the device and my iPad are on the same WiFi and the necessary Local Network access is granted. Reinstalling Lollipop doesn’t help either.

I’m so frustrated by this app since I cannot trust that it will actually alert me if my kid is screaming. And trust goes a long way for a device to monitor a child’s sleep.

New update has some major flaws

The original app was fine, not amazing. While I like certain aspects of the new update like the timeline and crying events, I HATE that you have to move off the live screen to go into the audio and then it’s an additional step to then get it to play. It makes me want to not use Lollipop . Please, put the audio button back on the live view!!

The photo of the day no longer saves to Lollipop , only the camera roll. I take a photo almost daily but my app stopped saving them back in April. What happened??

I wish you could add an extra dot or two to the crossing detection feature. When the camera is mounted on the side of the crib, the view is not one that can be covered by only 4 points since it’s skewed. This would work for a camera mounted directly above the crib, but I can’t imagine many people are doing that. I would turn this feature on if I were able to actually draw boundaries around our crib properly.

Other than these frustrating things we in general are happy with the monitor and Lollipop . Haven’t been able to successfully get it installed and working yet on babysitter’s phones, though.... Hopefully these change in an upcoming update (ASAP).

Want to love this but too inconsistent

I have two cameras. I have one that moves for naps and travel with it to grandmas. The other camera is at my bedside in the bassinet and doesn’t move. The cameras will go offline for no particular reason and need to be unplugged and plugged back in. Troubleshooting just tells you to move it closer to the router and take other things away from the camera (really? My whole house is a smart home). The Alexa show app works sometimes, others it fails to connect with the camera or just shuts off. It’s so inconsistent that I ordered an old vtech audio only monitor for backup and peace of mind.

Great technology when it works, just not quite there yet. Wish I would have gone with eufy.

Good but not great

The camera is good, built in white noise machine is great, and the option to talk to your baby through the camera is good. However, the recent updates to Lollipop are subpar. I like that as soon as you open Lollipop it’s a live feed and you click over and everything is right there, instead of before when you had to go to separate screens for each individual feature. But the fact that you have to have the sound on in order to use the background play is tedious. They changed the timer of the white noise feature from being completely customizable to only 5 choices, each hours long, not everyone wants the white noise on for hours and hours.

Frustrating Technology

The amount of time and effort that goes into constantly reconnecting the device to WiFi, unplugging the cord, uninstalling Lollipop , etc is too much. It’s great when it works but is HORRIBLE when it doesn’t. I love that it has background play for when you’re on the same WiFi or my husband can peek in from outside the house if we have the settings that way. Camera quality is good and device is aesthetically appealing. Wish it had more notification sound options and better human factors in Lollipop . Microphone is terrible. There are multiple settings screens- who decided that was a good idea? Lollipop is not user friendly at all and makes no sense. It is what it is. Most of the time I can see and hear my baby with it so that’s the main priority. But man, work out the connectivity bugs and fix your terrible app layout!

Disappointing

Update: Some of the disconnection problems were resolved, although it is annoying that their constant tinkering with Lollipop leads to these issues. In addition, the firmware update (which for some reason only pushes if you select for it to be done at a later time) does finally have the ability to toggle off the auto night mode. Still, I am not sure whether or not I would recommend the camera to others. It does have some good features, but Lollipop has gotten so bloated.

We have two cameras, one for our 3 year old that we have been using since she was born and one for our newborn. As others have mentioned, Lollipop is now bloated and the cameras disconnect constantly. We never used to have this problem when our older child was born. Same house, same internet. We are finally throwing in the towel and getting an audio only monitor for our older child. Her camera now crashes constantly and can only reconnect after being unplugged. I don’t need some fancy app. I just want a monitor that works. My wife also gets frustrated that if a room isn’t very dark that the camera will constantly switch back and forth between night mode and day. This causes the camera to make a very loud audible clicking noise. There is no way just to override it and tell it to stay in one mode rather than get stuck in a never ending oscillation of clicks. This review written at 4am while both of our monitors are down.

Almost...

The camera loses connection which is a big problem for a baby monitor. Ever since the last update I notice a big progress, but I still don’t trust this camera to work through the night... I had to buy a second audio-only monitor to for peace of mind.

The picture quality is decent, definitely not as good as the photo in the preview of Lollipop ... especially for night mode, which is 100% not a photo taken with a this app camera, but a regular photo turned in black and white... and it has the this app pictured inside the picture!? Like really 😞

Too many app updates

I love this camera and the clarity is very good but I am quite irritated with all of the updates and changes they make to Lollipop . I get improving it and fixing bugs is necessary but the updates tend to screw something up or change it so much you have to relearn how to navigate the options on the screen. While the live view is open on your phone the screen shouldn’t go to sleep yet in the past an update allowed my phone to go to sleep so meanwhile I thought I could hear my baby, when I came back it was quite bc the screen had went to sleep. They later fixed the problem. There is a new update on Lollipop right now that has made the live view significantly smaller on your screen so to see anything you have to zoom in. Please stop with all of the updates. It was working just fine also I paid about $200 for this camera I don’t want to pay for more options that still take up screen space even though I haven’t paid for them... if the cameras live view wasn’t constantly changing from updates I would give this 5 stars but considering the current update to Lollipop , I’m not completely happy with how it works and how difficult it is to see on the screen. I’ve also owned this camera for nearly 2.5 years.

Love some of the new features, but audio portion of the app needs bug fixes

I have loved my this app camera since we got it for my daughter a year ago. Best features for the price. My complaint with this new update is that the audio keeps crashing and the stupid alarm keeps going off. I know there a feature to not have the alarm, but I do want to know if it disconnects in the middle of the night so I leave it on. It wouldn’t be a problem if the audio didn’t crash every five seconds. Also, I used to be able to listen to my music and the monitor at the same time, or my white noise app and have the audio for the monitor in the background. Now it won’t let me play double audio for some reason. I can’t sleep with out my white noise! Give it an update that fixes these problems quick please!

Love it now

I have had this camera since June 2018 and loved it. Well now with the latest update it stops me from watching my child. I am on the same network as we only have one network in our home. Our daughter is on the other side of our house and the only way I can hear her wake is with the baby cam. So now I have to go buy another camera because this one changed....Why would you even make it puss if it’s on a different network?! That is just silly and unnecessary. Everything was great before the updates.

UPDATE: so the newest update is great being able to run the sound in the background of the phone is awesome!! I know don’t have to leave my screen on all night I just play the audio. Have had no issues with this new update.
