After setting up the mobile app I was trying to generate MMID and am getting constant message that the service is temporarily available and this is happening for the past 3 days. Today I called the customer service contact number and this is juat horrible. The person answering the call just assumes that I know Hindi and starts the conversation in the language. When I admonish her how she can assume that then comes the apology saying that she would transfer the call to an English speaking agent but just disconnected the call. Next time another person said the same and then came back after couple of minutes saying that there is mo one available and asked me to call later. I just don’t understand how can this happen at the so called ‘reputable bank’ link IOB or is it happening just because it is IOB where customer is just another commodity? Secondly the MMID generation process issue - how can this be a temporary issue if the issue is not resolved for 3 days?

This app is poorly made to handle the registered phone number. It is hard coded to validate 10 digit phone numbers only perhaps IOB supports international number and they do charge every month for international text messages. However, few times the app crashes when attempting to register with the US number. Now sometime back I had the validation part completed but it fails to register with my US number. Looks like this bank is behind the technology, probably learning at the kindergarten class. Poor customer support and hanging a huge manual KYC form instead of an online form… poor service. Good to move to better online banks…

The app and the bank are setting up common customers to struggle with accessing our own funds. The most non user friendly banking app I’ve ever used. They set their own limits for the user and it’s impossible to change it without contacting a branch for help.
