At first I really liked using Sentry because it was so convenient to use when I don’t have quarters. Now, even if I add time on my phone, it would glitch and say that I have no active sessions left. This happened many times and I have to spend extra money to add time which I already paid for.

Confusing process to set up. Couldn’t use Sentry because the spot was already occupied by my vehicle. Then I went to the station paid an hour and it only gave me 46 min, stating the spot was in use previously? I had been there less than 5 min trying to get Sentry to work. Then I could not add more time on the meter and Sentry says I have no active session. Really frustrating, and really hoping I don’t get a ticket. I’ll be talking to the city next on why they purchased this new system! ParkMobile worked great. This seems buggy, expensive, and not intuitive.

Check the privacy policy. Company claims they own all the data collected using their hardware and software (including Sentry) and that they “share” data with advertisers. Can’t believe our city sold our data, plus half the parking fees revenue, to this company. Our city claims they own all the data collected by this system, so either they are lying or they got duped.

Even after all the money we’re giving them, the company still can’t develop a decent app.

Sentry kept telling me that the space I was using already had an active session and wouldn’t let me create a new one with my car. I ended up getting a ticket 5 minutes after parking 😡

I now have $10 stuck in my account that I don’t plan to use because I’m not coming back and risking another ticket. I’m going to have quarters on hand for Royal Oak moving forward.

The user interface is crappy and ugly as well.

Between the meter and Sentry it took me 30 minutes to pay for parking ridiculous

The machine was jammed with quarters. Sentry didn’t find my spot properly at first then charged my card but didn’t start the time. Then when it finally charged again and took the post remained red and wasn’t green like the other ones around me. Sentry needs a revamped on design and functionality / user friendly.

Sentry fails every single time. This seems like it was intentionally meant to rob users and cause them to get parking tickets. If you don’t stand next to the pay station for 10 minutes, your session will not activate. Save money and just pay directly at the terminal. This way you will not get a ticket and you can drive this app out of business. This company doesn’t deserve to exist both for robbing people.

Useless application I downloaded just a few minutes ago tried to pay for the parking it give me all sort of error of the location and time so I move the car and tried again and was the same waited 15minutes and tried again it was the same so I had to pay with Coin after application took 10 dollars for this purpose so I don’t know what is the use of this application?

In all of my many years of using and developing software I have never encountered such a terrible user experience. It’s comically bad, as if the developers were challenged to create the ultimate example of what *not* to do when making a mobile application. If that was in fact the goal, they have succeeded with flying colors. Congrats. I hate my city for making me use this.

Sentry is not nearly as slick or user friendly as our prior app. Plus we have to keep money loaded vs. charging our credit card every use. How you search for your parking space isn’t as easy. There is no way to create a nick name for each license plate you have stored.

Sentry was good at first when i was trying to pay my meter without coins handy, a few months later it doesn’t work at all. I put in $10 in Sentry that can’t even be used because Sentry keeps telling me they can’t find my parking meter which is the whole purpose of Sentry ....

I had this app for years. Had 10.00$ left in Sentry . Could not find the meter any longer so I deleted Sentry from my phone.
Now I am going to install it again will my $10.00 balance show up again?

Not easy to use, was not clear that the “star” pinpoints your location to find your spot. Also is buggy and doesn’t update. I paid for my spot and it remained red. I refreshed a couple times and made sure it took my payment. Remained red and sure enough when I returned I was issued a ticket. What a joke.

I have never been able to successfully use Sentry to pay for parking. It took my money to add to my account but won’t let me use it to pay for parking. I can select my lot but then nothing - no button to push to purchase time! The most useless app ever.

Really - there’s no easy way to increase the time on a spot after your time has started? And worse yet if you let it lapse one minute you get an error on Sentry and on the meter saying it’s already expired and there’s a ticket in the mail. Seems almost illegal…

I just loaded this on my phone for the third time. I just “registered”. It is still “loading” my log in info. It is taking a rather long time. It has been 10 minutes. I guess they don’t want my $ after all. Good bye this app.

Does not send push notifications even though they claim it was sent. This happened to a bunch of me and my friends multiple times and we all got tickets.

Every time i open Sentry it hits a loading screen….. and never loads. Then you get charged for sitting in a parking space while trying to make Sentry work… ridiculous. Get it together

Can’t even login when you create an account. Once you register and attempt to login again, all that you receive is a loading screen. Can’t register your vehicle or add funds. Sentry is terrible.

Sentry is a complete disaster.

It is like walking on broken glass.

It will not work at all without location services enabled.

Trying to purchase a monthly parking permit requires you to jump through half a dozen hoops. And the monthly permit only covers 28 days so they can scam you out of 3 days of parking.

Want to buy multiple months at once? Sorry. You have to login within a 1 day window or you’ll get a ticket.

Wish my school never embraced this piece of hot garbage.

After trying for 15 mins I used the meter.

Like others i downloaded Sentry and paid my $10 and then only got “failure to communicate with meter” error message and then had to find quarters to feed rhe meter

How easy would it be to pay and not have to manually type in credit card numbers on my 47th parking app?

Installed Sentry b/c I didn’t have spare change. Was unable to locate meter in use. Sentry withdrew $100 for account deposit which I never authorized. Users beware.
