I’m writing this review as a last ditch effort to get some help. I have been trying to link my credit card and my bank card to RideYellow so that I can take advantage of the 25% discount on right order through RideYellow . It constantly says that my payment method cannot be verified. I’ve deleted RideYellow twice. I’ve restarted my device multiple times, I’ve deleted all the cards. I even happen to have wiped my phone and reset it today at the Apple store and I keep getting the same message. I called you guys the other day and was told by a customer service rep that her supervisor was saying there was nothing that could be done and I just had to order in cab and pay extra. Please contact me to help. I’m frustrated I’m gonna stop using you guys and start using Lyft instead.

I made a reservation online to go home from LAX. I got an email confirmation and several texts. I called me driver and spoke with him. An hour later, no one showed up. I finally reach a live person on the phone. He put me on hold and I finally spoke to a supervisor. He told me that they can't take reservations from the airport. So I wasted an hour I've been in poor health and I can't go through this

Save money but puts your safety at risk. Let’s start with RideYellow . Don’t expect to know when your driver will show up. RideYellow doesn’t tell you. I’n fact RideYellow told me “ride in progress” when in fact I was waiting for the ride. But hey, for 25% off the ride maybe they can’t afford app developers. But here’s the meat of the review. Besides a dirty cab, these drivers are old school speeders. They are in a hurry to get to the next fare. For example, my driver was going 55 mph on a 40 mph street and 40 mph on a 25 mph street. What’s the rush? Uber and Lyft might have their issues, but these yellow cabs are living in another era when they didn’t have competition and safety wasn’t a priority. Long story short, stay safe and don’t ride with company.

app errors on gps location. app does not allow manually address entry.
after adjusting app setting from install default regarding location . an address could ben entered. App assigned driver 10 after requested pick up. after is showed 10 cabs in the area while it was started dinging a driver 15 minutes before pick up time.
So note you must plan for tardiness with RideYellow.

My brother and I just waited 2 1/2 hours for a yellow cab and no one showed up to the dialysis center where we were. Really ?!? ??? And they tried to blame it on me regarding canceling the ride which I didn’t do. So I called back and was told that I should have called back in fifteen minutes.??? Fix your system and your customer service also.

I pre-ordered a Taxi around 3pm for a 6:30pm pick up. Received a text about the order around 5:35pm and by 6:30pm-6:50pm still no taxi. I called dispatch and they said they were still looking for a driver- for over 3 hours they couldn't find one driver? RideYellow is horrible- you never know if your order went through- how close the driver is, etc. Don't expect RideYellow to be intuitive or reliable. No wonder Lyft and Uber are taking over the taxi business. I want to support Yellow Cab- but they aren't doing enough to try and make their service equal or superior when competing with the other ride share apps.

Every time I try to use RideYellow leaving LAX, the yellow cab drivers all act like they’ve never heard of RideYellow and the codes. They know that the fair will be cheaper and their tip will be less. It’s shameful that the company either hasn’t educated them or doesn’t care about customer service. And, to make it worse, there is no customer service available through RideYellow . No number. No email. No chat. Cab companies are benefitting now from overpriced Uber and Lyft, but with this kind of poor service, that won’t last long.

I booked a cab 4 hours in advance. They never showed up, never called. They started to charge my credit card upon booking. When I called to ask why they were 10 minutes late, the agent merely kept repeating that they are still looking for an available taxi.
Um, you had 4 hours to locate one. Unbelievably bad service. I cancelled the ride and got a Lyft in less than 5 minutes. This was near downtown Los Angeles. So there’s no excuse for this. Don’t risk being late by using RideYellow. I would give zero stars if I could. What a complete waste of time.

We scheduled a ride for the next morning to the airport. We got a confirmation text an hour before the cab was scheduled to arrive. But it never came. At it’s scheduled time, RideYellow said it was searching for a driver. One hadn’t even been assigned yet! Worse, I tried to call dispatch, but there is no way to even talk to a human! A bot comes on and says it’s still looking for a driver and to call back in ten minutes.

This was the first time I had tried to use a taxi (as opposed to Uber or Lyft) in years. No wonder taxis are done.

RideYellow is terrible UI, like genuinely whoever they hired for this really phoned it in. There’s not even a HELP option in the entire app, how absurd is that considering you might need immediate help when using a taxi service. I gave it a chance and they never showed up even though on the map there was over 20 of the yellow taxis within a 2 minute drive of my house and one of the yellow taxis even DROVE PAST MY HOUSE, but apparently they’re still looking for a driver. Someone please make this make sense.

Very disappointed. I scheduled a ride in advance and they waited until shortly before my desired pickup time to find a driver. I live about ten minutes from LAX. I saw the drivers at the airport, but no one would come get me. A short ride isn't worth their time (which is too bad because I tip in cash on top of the original tip in these cases). I was left stranded at the last moment and had to use Lyft in a rush. I try to give my business to the cabs instead of a ride share, and get left stranded.

App was easy enough to use. Booked a ride. Driver went to wrong location. Got a text saying to touch the Fleet info button and call back. No Fleet info button exists. Ride ended and I was charged before I had a chance to call driver to help him. Texted number back and never had a response. Uber driver had no problem getting there. Will dispute charge. I would not link a card to pay via app, you’ll risk getting robbed. 0 stars if possible.

I’ve been using RideYellow for a few months and it worked fantastic but two days ago I updated my credit car on RideYellow and since then I have not been able to request a ride because it says that my credit card has expired but my card expires on 2026. I’ve tried to find some help and no one is able to do it. I wish they would have agents a bit more informed and updated to help costumers.

As Uber and Lyft face shortages, I really thought RideYellow would be the throwback alternative. What I mean by that is drivers who were paid fairly and made tips on top of that, thanks to unions and personal agreements within drivers in certain areas. You know. Anyway. Didn’t happen and they’re too quickly authorize your carrot on the stick. You know what I mean. They definitely do it Hollywood high School style.

It’s impossible for me to get a ride on MCB Camp Pendleton even though the company says it’s one of their service areas. RideYellow doesn’t work at all. Every time I try to request a ride it either says “Request Failed: Pickup street number is required.” if I’m trying to pay in cab, or “request failed: we failed to verify your payment info…” when trying to pay through RideYellow . Then I call, request a ride through the agent, I give him all the info, he says the cab is on its way, but then I get a call from the cab asking me where I’m going and where I need to be picked up. Then proceeds to tell me that it’ll be 30 minutes before he gets there. Extremely frustrating. I would go with Uber but they can’t get on base.

I had a grocery cart filled to the top. Without asking he unloaded my bags, he was very nice. Then i noticed he was not wearing a mask. He said he had several & since i had mine on he felt he didn't need one! I believe i said you put on a mask or let me off. He put one on!!!

We used it in LA. It worked ok for our trip from our hotel to a show but it didn’t work when we needed a ride back to our hotel. We had to get Uber which was a little more expensive but more reliable. I’m glad we used cash instead of them having our credit card information.

Used RideYellow once before while I was away from home. Had to pay cash/credit card for trip. Attempted to use a second time today here in Orange County CA with Ride Sync option so app would link to payment card in my settings. However app could not identify my GPS location and did not accept manual update of my current address.

I’ve had zero issues with RideYellow . Really like the book ahead feature. 100% reliability on taxi being at pick up spot as requested.

We use them all the time now to go from Manhattan Beach to the airport. You can book it ahead of time which is nice or on the same day and they always show up on time unlike Uber and Lyft who cancel constantly. I’m not sure why they have so many bad reviews but we use them quite a bit and have never had a problem and they are much cheaper than any of the other ones.

Crash apps no discount paid driver over price no more cab unless needed world going to end soon can’t wait won’t take my debit card so I have to paid cash worst apps and company ever hope the world end soon government don’t care about us when works going to end I just hate taxi

Will never use RideYellow or yellow cab again.
I used RideYellow on New Year’s Eve and had to pay twice because the driver didn’t know about RideYellow and demanded that I pay for the ride. I was then changed in RideYellow for the same ride.
Now yellow cab is not even returning my calls or emails.
I’ll stick to Uber and Lyft.

Cab driver was not aware of RideYellow therefore has no idea how it worked. It was a disaster getting to our location and he thought we were shorting him when RideYellow took out a discount. He did not want us to leave. RideYellow charges you without you giving the OK! So my husband almost paid twice! RideYellow does not work!

I will never use this service again. Failed to show up on time and 45 min after scheduled appt had no phone or update. This was a ride to a post op appt and I nearly missed it. I wonder if they realize that when you need a ride somewhere that it might be important. They will not get my business again. Lucky for me Lyft got here in 5 minutes and got to my appt 15 min late but at least they helped me keep it. I can see why Uber and Lyft are so popular.

Not only did RideYellow not work, the driver had no idea that there even was an app. Even though there were advertisements for it all over the 'inside' of his taxi and on the roof! Then he couldn't figure out how to use the credit card machine. Had to go to an ATM (after flying for 11 hours, going through customs and waiting for 20 minutes for a taxi) I've been avoiding UBER since they're a horrible company but after last night, no more Yellow Cabs for me!!!

So I got this after speaking with a promo team at an event. Got the codes registered and myself thinking boom let’s go. I decide to try it out and see the estimate is the same as Lyft and Uber. I say cool let’s go. I get in meter is running and I notice that it is getting high fast. So I ask hey I did RideYellow and I’m supposed to get a discount and he says I’m sorry it says pay in cab so I am unable to apply the discount. The rate for not even a quarter of the way and was already at 12$. The price estimate is complete bs and RideYellow doesn’t work correctly. I deleted and won’t use again.

I’ve been trying to get a cab since 3:25 and it’s now 4:07. RideYellow shows 3 drivers that have passed by my residence and/or have been sitting less then 2 miles away without even moving(cab 106) yet RideYellow says finding a driver. The same driver ciguey in Coral Springs, FL has accepted my ride twice and cancelled it twice while passing by my place twice. I have been using their service almost everyday and not once have I gotten a cab within 40mins. This is a company that has no respect for its passengers so please beware

Trying to support the men and women who operate cabs in the world of lyft and Uber. RideYellow was heavily advertised in LA. We hailed a cab, downloaded RideYellow , gave all of our information and couldn't get it to attach to the ride we were in.

We don't think RideYellow was broken but think the driver was declining the requests for the connection. Tried at least 6 times with no success. Suspect it's because they lose a % to the service and didn't want to do that.

Ironically, this forced us to pay with credit card and the cabs reader doesn't allow for tips. So the cabbie got a $6 tip (available cash) on a $78 ride to airport from Hollywood.

App deleted. You gotta get the first experience right. If you're going to spend a ton of cash advertising in cabs then the experience of paying from a ride already underway should be flawless.

And, there should be an obvious way to contact the service rather than being forced to leave a crappy review. I'd like to see a good alternative that we can choose for cabs.

Actually worked perfectly the first time I used RideYellow . I used it the same day for a return trip - booked and payed for trip on RideYellow . The next morning tried to book another ride and my account was suspended because it claimed I didn’t pay ...I booked and paid with RideYellow ...so there is a disconnect with the cabs and RideYellow .
Tried to call to resolve , on hold for a supervisor for a long time only to find out there was nothing she could do. I need to call the corporate office. They have my trip and credit card on file-no idea why it is an issue ....so I was over an hour late for my appointment- ended up just using Uber...I guess I won’t be supporting the taxi business while on business in LA.

I thought getting the $15 discount for my first app ride would be great!! N-O-T!! My driver talked about tipping the entire 20 minute drive and then he processed a 20% tip for almost $7 when I told him $2.. $7 is almost half of my discount.. What a rip off!! Then I called the number on the invoice and they refused to take a complaint stating they only booked the rides.. Plus my driver was loading different passengers into his vehicle when I came out of my hotel - probably because they were going on a longer trip. What a CROCK. This driver just lost this company all of my business and all of my co-workers.. Thousands of fares a year. I even talked to the driver about additional business from my co-workers.. Extremely short sided business practices. There better not be any more unauthorized charges.

Doesn't work. Mad I wasted my time downloading RideYellow and making an account. After waiting more then 20 min for them to "Find a driver" I cancelled the ride and deleted RideYellow . There were 15 cars around us and none picked us up. Terrible app. They need to get their act together. Sticking with Uber.

Love RideYellow but your drivers hate it. They all prefer cash and get pushy to get it. Makes me uncomfortable.

Was traveling in LA, and needed a pick up at 3:50am to go to LAX. The driver arrived a bit early and everything was perfectly smooth. It worked for me!

I’ve used RideYellow a couple of times and it worked great. First, download RideYellow before your trip. Don’t try to use it for a street hail, not what it’s meant for.

Let’s you track the cabs progress and allows for easy payment. Doesn’t seem to be different from the uber app.

So what more do you want? A driver that has been background checked, a taxi that has been safety inspected, no surge pricing and real recourse in case something goes wrong, that being the cab company and/or the city/county authority that licenses the cab and the driver. A much better deal when you think about it.

Made arrangement on the app the day before a trip. Called and spoke to customer service to confirm pickup for ride to airport. No one ever appeared. 10 minutes after scheduled pickupI called again I received a message they were still looking for a driver. Missed my flight. Never again with this outfit.
