I can’t always hear the calls for some reason, and whenever I answer they can’t hear me. Whenever this happens, I don’t even have the option to recall or anything which makes it even worse. There’s been countless times I’ve answered and the person isn’t able to hear me, which makes it just seem like I’m ignoring the call. Furthermore, I’ve recently been getting called at 9:00 AM. I’m sleeping and it’s terrible when I have to turn my camera on and answer the questions (that they can find the answers to on the sheets I filled out at the airport) right when I wake up. It’s such a terrible start to the day and you can’t always sleep in.

MySOS is not for RANDOM PEOPLE to download. Its for people who go to Japan to download. MySOS gives random calls and notifications to make sure you are in quarantine during covid for 14 days in Japan. The calls are to make sure you are in your quarantine location. These calls are coming from the government, to make sure foreigners who came to Japan are in quarantine.

MySOS is buggy and the entire process of checking in is flawed. I left my phone by myself at all times and I would not hear any calls or see any notifications even though I clearly have everything turned on. I was also told by someone working at the call centers to delete and reinstall MySOS , now my quarantine date is gone and I’m not able to check in or click on the “i’m here” button… There has to be a better way to do this…

Had a pleasant time not being able to step away from my phone or listen to music/TV for 14 days. Due to jet lag, for the first week I had to have my phone stuck to my ear while napping. MySOS itself is good but I think they need to improve the notifications to occur more than just once and change it from a short ding to something more noticeable. Fortunately I only missed a couple but I can understand individuals struggling to hear the notifications.

MySOS is horrible. As others have mentioned is it incredibly buggy. I was just notified to check in on my 3rd day of quarantine. Open MySOS and it it totally unresponsive. My Home Screen details don’t shop up. I can’t open the settings because it won’t respond. I have closed it and reopened it several times and still, won’t respond. Checked for an update, nothing. For a government to be using this as an official app is ludicrous.

While I don’t object to the border controls, MySOS is the most frustrating part of my process. I downloaded it in advance of my trip, and it is impossible to use. It opens, I hit one button, and MySOS shuts itself down.
You would think with all the time and money supposedly being spent on this, and Japan’s claim of “hospitality” they would try to make an app that was even vaguely user-friendly.
Apparently not.

I am staying home and quarantining as I have been instructed. MySOS was working correctly for the first few days but suddenly it doesn’t work at all. I can’t check in and when my husband (who is also in quarantine with me) received a call a few minutes ago, MySOS immediately terminated.

I am doing my part to observe the quarantine, but I worry that this malfunctioning app is going to cause problems for me.

Two days ago I started my quarantine! Accidentally I tapped”im here” before arriving to my quarantine hotel destination (I didn’t know how to use it). And even tho it was 2 days ago, on my app it still says “todays location ... and then not my location... I’m really worried that there will be a problem... please fix it... I apoligize

Checked in quarantine hotel with MySOS . When reporting my location being in that hotel, app telling me that I was not at designated quarantine location, breaking the rule, and should go back immediately.
Since then, couple of times when robocalled to check on my location, not connecting.
And there is no contact number or mail or any other way to contact anyone about it.
Dreadful

Doesn’t work efficiently and is more of a stressful than helpful app. Calls come at random unreliable times, sometimes too early in the morning and others too late at night. Can’t take a bath or listen to music too loud, you might miss their call. They also call me and video chat me several times in a day sometimes. It should only be once a day. Needs work and it’s a bad idea.

I had my phone always in the room I was at but yet, I missed notification for “I'm here”.
It was too late by the time I click. My volume is normal, I didn’t mute anything.
Well, I didn’t get in trouble so I’m ok with that. I was stressed for missing notification when I was right there and got very worried for the trouble I was going to get in.
Thank you for the uneasy 14 days quarantine.

We are having some terrible bug issues with MySOS. It doesn’t work at all. We can’t interact with the screen or receive many of the phone calls.

And whoever gave that 5 star review: MySOS isn’t ONLY for foreigners, nor would anyone have reason to download it outside of Japan. Also notice that Japanese people are saying that same thing.

It was easy to install and use MySOS to check in daily during the quarantine

This entire system is so bad, and this is the worst way to track people.
I wish it can auto track people so I don’t need to answer the stupid calls. And if I missed a call, there is no way to call back.
I’ve missed a bunch of calls, because I’m living in US time zone, and they are telling me I have not honored the pledge. Can the bot call me at night?

And I can’t tap the I’m here button sometimes. It gives me an error.

Well, now I know why Japan couldn’t stop the COVID cuz they think this is the best way.
So bad, this system is so bad.

Call and ping you incessantly and randomly while you sleep or work? Threaten you with deportation if you don’t pick up while you’re on the toilet? Buggy and intrusive app that has you under constant surveillance? Check check check

Update: I finally deleted MySOS (after like 2 weeks of my last rating) Also, it bugs a LOT. I don’t really liked the automatic video call, should have added a message thing so people can see what time they are gonna get a call

This won't help your lives at all just annoy you. I would suggest Japanese people to review how much your tax has been waisted.
Domestic situation is getting worse but less care even if people got positive. Japanese government still believe varients flew with Travelers but who have confirmed?

Preparing for my trip from the US to the Philippines. Difficult to pass the pre-questionnaire section regarding lodging. I am just passing through and there is no way to indicate it. Hopefully, this hiccup will not keep me from passing through to the Philippines.

In addition to this notifications don’t reliably push to Apple Watch

last few times they called, i answered but they cut off right after i press button. I WAS IN MY ROOM. MySOS does nothing but give big stress to kikokusha. very buggy and unreliable.
