Good idea! Horrible Execution!

CakePay and process is confusing. It prompts you for payment before you even do anything. It then charges $0.01. The menu isn't a part of the "to go" payment option and when you exit back to view the menu and then return to pay, it again authorizes $0.01. The person at the store we ordered from aren't trained well and dismissed our questions and didn't explain anything when we said we were trying to use this app. CakePay told us we qualified for a complimentary slice of cheesecake when we signed up to use it the first time, but the store wouldn't honor it, even after asking to talk to management. The manager simply relayed a message back through the person taking the order that they knew nothing about the promotion, weren't going to honor the promotion, and said to call corporate. The manager didn't even get on the call. You can tell employees hate cake pay and don't want to support it. It's probably cumbersome on their side also.

Still have to call though

I wanted to use this because it's way easier for me to order in CakePay then just pick up my food. Especially when I'm exhausted and just do the want to talk to anyone. Plus that way I can see a total and decide if there's something I dont want based on the total cost of the meal. CakePay makes you pre-authorize a payment then call to order. If I wanted to call to order I'd save the room on my phone's home screen and just call the number myself. Wish this was like other mobile ordering apps that let you order in CakePay and not just a glorified 411. Plus the pre-authorization is a rip off. Basically you're charged a penny to view the menu. I guess it's another way for them to make money.
Try door dash or uber eats instead.

Cake Pay

I like CakePay but you shouldn’t be forced to tip for a take out order! Also, you should be able to order without calling, directly from CakePay menu itself.

CakePay is Awesome - Saved my Meal

I got caught outside the house at a business meeting without my wallet. However, I did have my iPhone and my Apple Pay. I started calling restaurants to see who accepted Apple Pay, and was surprised to find none until I called Cheesecake Factory. The this app app allowed me to tie my bill to my Apple Pay and easily add on a tip. The email was mailed to me, so I have a convenient way to add the invoice to my expense account. Love CakePay I’ll probably be using Cheesecake Factory more often as a result.

What's the point

CakePay is very weak. If I ran Cheesecake Factory, I would remove CakePay until it offered something valuable to my customers. Allow me to order online at the very least. Explain to the customer the process. I called and held on the phone for 16 minutes before someone picked up to take my order. And after ordering, when I said I wanted to give my cake pay number, the woman taking my order he no idea what I was talking about. So I guess it would help to also let the staff know about it as well. In all, I found CakePay useless. And it should offer regular customers some sort of benefit or loyalty program.

Product Owner for this app should be unemployed

I’ve used CakePay successfully only one time because I was lucky to have gotten a server who actually knew how to use it. Since then, it’s been pointless to even mention it because staff is not properly trained to use it. I like the idea of being able to pay without waiting for the server to bring me the bill, then wait for them to pick up credit card to process, and then returning the final bill for me to sign.

It’s unexcusable to make a product, and then not offer any training on how to use, or promote the benefits such as faster service and reduction of wait times.

Poorly designed app

Looks like it’s from the 19th century, and feels like it when you scroll through as well. The interface is clunky and undesirable to use. Additionally forces you to use Apple Pay or PayPal to pay for things and does not simply let you use a credit card like 99% of other restaurants out there. Not sure why it is designed like this. Tried going about ordering by email to pickup the food and it forced doordash into the prices even when we were picking up? Added a significant amount to the total. Ended up deleting the application very irritated and just calling. Back to the 20th century we go

App is a confusing mess

I love the Cheesecake Factory and wanted to start using CakePay . I tried to use it for the first time. 1st CakePay opens and has a big checkin button. When I hit it - it made me process my credit card. No other restaurant app does this and it shouldn’t. Then CakePay gave me a checkin number and told me to show to the front desk. When I did, they told me they don’t have a restaurant checkin. Get to the back of the line to check in for a table. Just a mess. And I still don’t know why I had my credit card processed without being at my table??

I’ll delete it today after I finish eating.

Great idea - wonderful convenience!

I have been using the this app app since it was introduced. I find it very easy to use and extremely convenient. Place you order, pay via CakePay , and pick up your food and you’re on you way home. Saves a lot of time if the bakery register is busy...they just hand you your bagged food and you go.

CakePay Rocks!

We eat at Cheesecake Factory about once every six weeks and always order our food to go and use this app to pay for our order. It is lightening fast and super user-friendly. Now if we could just get the people to bring our food out to our car a little quicker that would be even better.

PERFECT!

I love Cheesecake Factory. As a business I respect their move towards an app. It is in the beginning, which means if you got it you are ahead of the game. Everything new takes time and I hope there will be updates on the way to improve what needs to be improved; as of now, I’m getting a chocolate milkshake and I’m smiling :). You need to get it... a tout à l’heure!

Really Saves A Lot of Time

This gives you the ability to pay without waiting for the check. You run a tab, and when you are ready to go, you can see your bill and check out with Apple Pay.

Downloaded an App just to tell me must call restaurant anyway

What a lame idea... creating an App with no option to see the menu until you pay 01 cent and you have to call anyway.

I tried to see the menu from the list but disk show properly on my IPhone 8 plus, maybe this is just for Ipad. Oh no, wait! Once you pay “checking amount to see if you are worthy” the. You receive a message saying you have to call the restaurant to place your order 😃! How great is that!?

Regards 😒😒

Slow, Clunky, Outdated, Not Very Useful

CakePay is very outdated, slow, and clunky to navigate. It does not respond quickly. There is no way to add gift cards so that they can be used when paying, which, for a payment app, is basically the worst thing it could be missing.

The only saving grace is that there are photos for each menu item. Helpful when shifting through all thousand of them.

Easy

CakePay is very user friendly. It just won’t accept Apple Pay payment. I’ve tried twice and unable to pay. I’ve had to pay with credit card or PayPal. Overall I like it. I wish it would take my Apple Pay.
