Inconvenient! Horrible! Not iPhone Friendly!

This application only resizes images that are jpeg formatted. Any option selected within the application one is prompted immediately to purchase the full version at $4.99. This is rude, and abrupt to the user's experience. One is only to use the most recent 50 pictures in one's photo library. The application looks at the dates to verify the recent 50 pictures validity. One can deviate from this inconvenience by taking a screenshot of the picture in question. I was not able to find any settings to edit my picture format on my iPhone 7 Plus. Thus, making the application appear, at the least, not iPhone 7 Plus friendly. I am not aware if changing the photo format is possible on the iPhone 7 Plus. It is horrible, that the application is not equipped with the ability to change the photo format. It's is an inconvenience, and possibly a feature they must only offer in the full version. It's in short a consumerist ploy to take people's money.

Didn't work

I downloaded PhotoCompress on iOS 10 and it didn't work.

I created a new album but it was named U instead of the name I chose.

I selected the 7 most recent screen shots to compress but when PhotoCompress finished working the folder was still empty.

Sure showed me a lot of ads though.

Added:

The developer sent me a nice note pointing out that buried at the bottom of the description it mentions that this tool is only designed to work on jpeg photos and not PNG, which is the format the iPhone takes screen shots in. He suggested that I try compressing photos.

Well, I downloaded PhotoCompress specifically to compress screen shots; if I want to manipulate photos in more detail I upload them to my Mac. I simply have no use for PhotoCompress as it was designed, and had already deleted it from my device. Still, I upgraded my rating from one star to two. Still no explanation for the album naming bug, after all.

I wouldn’t pay to remove ads…

Its an ok app.. it does what it says… but to remove ads for $3 for something an online website can do better then this can?…. First when you use PhotoCompress it can only do one thing.. and tht one thing not so good… i shrinks your images.. *BUT* if they are background-less it adds a white background….. then shows u ads every time you convert a photo
Where as sites like optimizilla will let you batch convert your images while preserving the background-less images.. ^^” my review will stay a 1* unless these things change…..

Doesn’t work

This is a lame app. After downloading it because it was recommended by Apple, it doesn’t list the photos in my photo album in order. The one I needed was the last one saved and it’s nowhere to be found on PhotoCompress. So I choose another identical one, but then PhotoCompress flags it and says that because it’s not in the first 50 photos, I’ll have to pay to upload it onto PhotoCompress. THUMBS DOWN. I will now delete PhotoCompress and find another alternative to reduce the file size of another picture without all this unnecessary jumping through hoops fanfare.

Doesn’t work with iCloud Photos

If you select a photo that isn’t already downloaded to your device locally, it just locks up. Had to go to the Photos app first, make sure it was downloaded, and then it worked as expected. Big bummer considering PhotoCompress has the ability to trigger the download, show it’s status as downloading, then continue onto compression.

If you fix that, 5 stars. App does what it says it will do.

Soooo easy

I love PhotoCompress. Now I can easily shrink my images for use on the internet or so I can send them to my computer from my phone. PhotoCompress works as intended and I am thrilled with the results.

Did Not Compress or Save. Bummer Ads Need 2nd Purchase to Disappear

I downloaded this, and paid the $4.whatever right away to access an older than 50 days photo. The photo said it compressed, and I selected to save it to my Dropbox. But it was nowhere to be found.

The pictures loaded really slowly. I thought it was my phone, so I deleted over 600 photos that were already in my computer, hoping that would speed up the apps ability to access my pictures. It didn't.

Today I tried compressing a new photo. It wouldn't even Preview, and could t tell me the estimated size.

Additionally, it's a real bummer that after you spend the simple $4, you need to pay $2.99 extra to turn off the ads. Which are really aggressive, btw, not just ones that run along the bottom.

This app analyses “traffic” and shares it with third parties. Beware!

This is nothing but an AD MACHIINE. Building revenues off of the data leached from logging app usage and god knows what else. They claim it’s to fix bugs; that’s funny, I usually submit bug reports manually to devs unless PhotoCompress is ghosted by an automated logger. Im almost compelled to re-download this fraud of an app just so I can view exactly the shenanigans going on through Console.

Guys, don’t be fooled by this BS. Use at your own risk. This isn’t an app for the good of the users, it’s for the revenue and data commerce.

Unreliable App with Terrible adds

PhotoCompress only works on about half of the photos I select. It also has almost constant and aggressive adds. It also hasn't been working for me, I can't tell a difference on the quality of compressed photos even at 1% image quality. Honestly I don't think it's been doing anything to reduce the image quality, at least on my phone. It also can only resize photos in jpeg photos, so definitely no screenshots. Don't download it, it's a waste of time.

Destroys chronological search

Definitely some annoying glitches. The worst of all though, is it removes the date of the original photo so they are no longer in chronological order which is pretty frustrating when searching though a couple thousand images.

Can’t get App Support link to work

I can’t get PhotoCompress Support link to work in PhotoCompress Store.
Here is my problem:
I have compressed a photo.
Now I want to insert that photo into an e-mail in Outlook for iOS. However, when I go to that album and try to Select that image, nothing seems to happen. Nothing gets inserted. Select works on all my other albums.

Simple and works

I use this to resize screenshots to post on discord. The only thing missing is that it doesn’t save your settings, but it’s only two sliders so it’s not a big deal

Great app!

Works PERFECTLY!
Would be nice to have an option to see image size when selecting ones to add, this way I could find all that need compressed 😊

By

Worth it!

Much better than other similar apps. So easy to use.

Worst Photo Compression App on the Market

So, after I compress the photos, to be 25% of the original file size, it still doesn’t change it. The file remains its original size when using on other applications and says that it is much smaller than it actually is on PhotoCompress . I think this is just a dummy app to get money honestly because it doesn’t function nearly as it is supposed to

By

Ok except

Works good but I preferred it when I could place images in it’s own folder. Now everything gets jumbled with my original images.

By

Works great when it works

Never had any trouble until recently (this week). App doesn't recognize all my photos or albums. . . and then it does???

By

Me

This worked great on iPhone
When you need to send pictures files on the go

By

Amazing

I would really buy it even I don't need more features but just to return the favorite to them

Great app!

I'm a Luddite and PhotoCompress makes me look like a genius. Easy to use and it works. Oh yeah, pay the extra $3 and get rid of the adds.
