Video Compress - Shrink Vids Reviews

It’s great to be able to compress those massively oversized native iPhone videos to a size that’s storage friendly and easy to email. My mother’s cell data plan is punishing on large files, but now I can send her more videos of my dog — her favorite of our family.

Why isn’t the ability to chose bitrate an option with iPhone’s app? I suspect it’s to “encourage” users to buy Apple’s cloud storage services. I’m so grateful for VideoCompress. The free version is worth it and the ads aren’t even very annoying. Get it people!

I paid $4.99 for the upgrade because VideoCompress was useless without it. Then I paid $0.99 to get rid of the ads. A few minutes later VideoCompress stopped working. I would choose a video to compress then it would “compress” it but the newly compressed video would not show up anywhere in my camera roll or in the album I selected. After 4 more failed attempts I deleted VideoCompress and downloaded it again, hoping to give it a chance to refresh or restart. Just like the first time, it tried to charge me $4.99 in order to compress even a small video. And I would have had to pay $0.99 again to make the ads go away. Really??? Seems like a total scam to me. I gave it 2 stars because the five videos I compressed before it stopped working turned out great. But I’ve never been so disappointed with a purchase on VideoCompress Store before. I want my money back.

We are shooting videos that are good enough for the big screen but also so big you can't message or email them. Even one step down to 720P reduces the file to maybe 1/5th yet is totally sharp. Crunch it even more for mobile no problem. Also good for making more room on your drive. Of course anything super important should be downloaded to your computer full size.
It's free but I will gladly pay the $.99 to get rid of the ads and put the money in the pockets of the creators.

VideoCompress let's you choose the compression you want, offering standards such as 480p and 720 hd. You can even preview the result. Very handy. It costs $0.99 to remove ads and $4.99 to unlock ability to select more than 1 video and longer than 3-minutes videos. I did that since it is so handy. It makes emailing a video much more practical.

I don’t understand what VideoCompress wants. 2.99 to remove ads, and in another screen says you can pay 6.99 for full version, but it says it won’t remove ads. Some reviews here says it’s 0.99 to remove ads! And there’s a “support VideoCompress ” screen with multiple buying options too!
I gave up on buying it because I don’t know which is which and because of all the tracking VideoCompress will do.

Two stars because the interface was decent and it supported landscape mode on iPad.

I understand quality is depleted the more the video shrinks, which is why I won’t complain about that. However, when I try compressing screenrecordings it cuts a chunk of my video off? The video is pushed to the left, leaving a black box to fill it. This doesn’t work too well for me, since I need the full screen of my video! I hope this is something that can be fixed, because overall it is an easy to use app.

Although visually a simple app, it reduces video file size to allow transmission through email and other file transfer services for which an uncompressed file may be too large. The fact that it’s free, with purchase options, is amazing on its own.

VideoCompress is great, I mainly use it to compress memes for they could look more “funny” but I run into a issue when I try to compress Minecraft screen recording, It either makes the Minecraft gameplay small or it’s just a black screen, please fix this bug. Other then that, VideoCompress is awesome and free... keep up the good work

The converted video quality is amazing compare to other app. And the compress rate is very good. I use default setting for 480.
I wish there are more features can be added to VideoCompress . The feature I wish to see are rotate, merge and able to choose output file format.

If your device is full, this is VideoCompress you might want. Pay $8 to be able to compress large videos. I want to get the 13 minute video and compress. I want to keep videos and save storage.

VideoCompress is great, it compresses the videos far beyond any software I’ve seen and I swear that I am not a fake account. VideoCompress saved me from failing a class, because my portfolio file was to big to be send to the teacher. The only bad thing is the adds, but with a very small purchase, you can get rid of them.

Updating my original review after working out an early problem. It can’t compress videos that have been edited. I tried to trim a video before compressing and it distorted the picture. But it did fine with compressing the original and then I trimmed afterward. Very good quality and easy interface.

I bought the full version of this software, and I was able to compress a lot of my videos. Now I’m getting the black screen more and more after I compress a video. This is extremely frustrating, and there hasn’t been an update in over 7 months. What are you waiting on? UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE PLEASE! All I get is stupid ads after I try to compress. You’re obviously making money off the ads, so do the right thing and fix these issues or you’re going to continue getting bad reviews!

I use videos a lot to communicate on Twitter and in other venues and got frustrated with never being able to email what I'd record. VideoCompress has helped so much. It works very quickly and is simple. Great stuff!

If you want to sell VideoCompress , do it with some descent business ethics. Free app to download, then .99 cents to remove the ads. Then again, another $4.99 to get unlimited version. What kind of business model is this? Why don’t you just make the customers buy it with a fair price the first time without trying these cheap gimmicks?
Also, only just few recent videos are available to compress. No option to see all videos in the camera role.

VideoCompress used to be the best. I even paid for the premium version. And now anytime you try to upload a video to have it compressed it shuts down the entire app and just won’t work. I have even deleted VideoCompress off of my phone and reinstalled it several times and it won’t work. It seems as though nobody is doing any updates on VideoCompress anymore so I do not recommend downloading it at all.

It was intuitive and worked well for a person with limited patience on such things. I’ll probably buy the full version.

I was so surprised by how fast and easy it was to shrink a 1KB file on VideoCompress without losing quality. Literally took me less than 30 seconds I believe. Thanks a lot!

I bought remove ads, thinking I was supporting VideoCompress and unlocking it. Nope, after using it several months for short videos, I finally try to use it on a long video only to discover that the “free” app I paid for wasn’t paid for at all! Who the heck pays to remove ads with no change in functionality? What a rip off.

Great app but don’t delete the originals until you see the new version because some of the videos turn to complete blackness losing the image when compressed.

Messed up completely the sound!
And ads still appearing in spite of the separate purchase to get rid of them!

The apps does exactly what you want it to do, compress videos down to a smaller size so you can email them. It’s fast and easy too.

Works great. One improvement might be to have an easier way to send to email. Still a good app though.
