I booked Garuda flights for 4 persons using FlyGaruda only to know how poorly designed it is.
First, it doesn’t save your previously typed information. I made a mistake at the end of the form, and try to go back to the previous page. Instead, it took me to the home page and I have to refilled all of the information again.
Second, error in payment processing. I made it to the payment page and filled in my one time password for my credit card. It took a while for FlyGaruda to process. My bank notification even came faster telling that a payment had been made to Garuda. However, FlyGaruda said otherwise. So I called Garuda and told what happened, then they asked me to send proof of transaction by email. I sent them email with proof, but then they asked for a billing statement, which will take 7 days to process it with the bank. They could just apologize for their app mistakes and provide an alternative booking solution.
Third, it seems like Garuda doesn’t read the reviews of their app. Only 1 star rating for the 5 star airline? So, don’t waste your time using FlyGaruda or you’re gonna end up wasting your time writing a long review like me.

Looks decent although not consistent with their branding.

Cannot add booking to app.

My GarudaMiles tier is gold but the virtual card showed up as blue in FlyGaruda . Could cause headache to user since GA does not really update [some of] their skyteam partners about the status of their FF, so good luck getting free baggage on delta even though you’re entitled to it.

Still directs flight booking to html browser. Kinda annoying.

Idk what they’re really updating here other than the looks, functionality is still as bad. Go back to drawing board.

I had so many problems trying to book my ticket using the website then FlyGaruda … information would revert back without saving..l then you need to start over… so frustrating…

I tried to retrieve my booking to do online check in and doesnt work. It kept me on the loading screen and nothing showed up. At least get your web check in working. Like seriously invest on these servers and better software.

I’m super dissapointed by all these small trouble I’m experiencing as a passenger. You can’t even put up a decent app for people to use nicely! Please invest on better software quality to be part of a world class commercial airline!

FlyGaruda crashed all the time. When I was about to make my payment, it crashed. It also taken away the mileage that I use to add to the purchase of the ticket. Poor app, poor service. Garuda has to give my mileage back for unsuccessful reservation process.

FlyGaruda is very poor. I can’t select my seat often and many times it won’t credit your frequent flyer miles to your reservation. Now I can’t even add my reservations to my account through FlyGaruda. It is very tiresome. This is certainly not the service of a “Five Star” airline and more like “Three Star”. I often have to waste my time sending additional requests to credit my account for trips taken this is especially true if I use the Bid upgrade feature. Finally, they should allow you to use miles to upgrade instead to have to call the service center. Garuda has some good features but FlyGaruda and the frequent flyer program is not one of them

It’s so embarrassing that Garuda as a state owned company could not even afford to develop proper apps. Crashes all the time, does not work most of the time. Very useless!!

So many issues don't even want to write. FlyGaruda should have never been released. It doesn't remember my details, my flights etc etc.

I use FlyGaruda since the beginning (old app) and i dont know why until now they can’t make it right. So buggy. Even adding my trip is very hard thing to do. 🙁

I have had FlyGaruda partially working in the past but now it’s completely unusable. The Garuda website is also getting worse and worse. Disappointing as the airline itself is good, just seems to have a badly run IT department.

I am trying to register but cannot because the pull down menus do not work. It was fine until I came to Nationality. If you are not Indonesian, you cannot put in a country. The same problem continues for the address etc.

My husband also tried - when he put in his birth date, (he is retired) he could not go on because FlyGaruda said he had to be at least 2 years old.

With the volcano erupting and flights canceled, it would have been nice to register for notifications.

And I can’t register with FlyGaruda and on the computer either.

I have doubt how i can book a flight through FlyGaruda.

And Korean Agent is the worst place to reach. They never answer the phone while i have concerns what to do with change or cancellation before I purchase the ticket.

It is so frustrating to use FlyGaruda due to it constantly crashing when in the page where it display the flight schedules. I can't believe since the software dev team haven't done anything about it since 2015 (yes, the bad reviews of crashing issue dates back to 2015 and the problem still persist).

FlyGaruda has many failings and bugs. It often cannot find my confirmed reservation. You cannot manage your booking as you can with most other airline apps. It also is poorly designed. I fly more than 50 Garuda trips a year and while the airline is decent with good cabin attendants, their app is just not very good.

Got the new app. Now cannot login at all.

Please prepare yourself, lower your expectations. Disappointment is common with FlyGaruda. Login failures and slow responses are among the usual issues. Even if you are already in, you have to sign out and sign in again to have your status updated. There is no automatic update for your milleage, very strangely!!
As a frequent traveller, this is one of the worst apps ever. I can’t believe this is Garuda’s app

Not only is GIA/GA’s website horrible, but also FlyGaruda is equally bad. Always crashing, and needing reinstalling very often. A simple task of finding a flight becomes a teeth grinding process as one never get any result! Placing an existing reservation under MyTrips is useless, because it is not a guarantee that one will see it again the next time one opens FlyGaruda . Garuda Indonesia should fire the person in charge of FlyGaruda tech and design.

Completely useless. The only reason I downloaded FlyGaruda was because their online website is also dysfunctional, stuck in a perpetual buffering. I was told to try to make my bookings through FlyGaruda instead, and every time I submit my log in information FlyGaruda crashes. Way to be a “world class” carrier, Garuda. How can you even compete with international carriers with this nightmare of an IT.

FlyGaruda is buggy AF..
1. Checked in via app yesterday, when i checked the “Past Trip” today, the tab shows no history whatsoever..

2. Points were not added instantly.. in a world connected with cloud based services, points should be added shortly after checking in or at least after the flight landed..

3. App crashes A LOT.. app closed twice when i showed my e-card to the check in crew from my phone.. now i have save a screenshot of my card to avoid the same thing happening again in the future..

I wrote this review because I am very happy with your airline services so far.. and let this review be a contribution to improve your services even more..

Will rewrite and re-rate if FlyGaruda improves significantly..

Garuda Airlines is one of my favorite airlines to fly with, I will choose it over any other airline in Indonesia.
It’s sucha shame that FlyGaruda is the complete opposite. It’s frustrating to navigate through, pressing back takes you all the way to the homepage where you have to input every single detail all over again.
I will fly Garuda Airlines as much as I can, but I will never use and recommend FlyGaruda ever!

One word can describe my experience with both Garuda’s app and their website: horrible. FlyGaruda constantly crashes. I try to reset my password with the “forgot password” on FlyGaruda and it tries to direct me to the website but I can never get there. FlyGaruda is in an endless loop. This airline really needs to start over with its website and app. I have a flight coming up with them in October and I hope this isn’t indicative of how they fly their planes and maintain them.

Laggy, not very easy to navigate, no linking to Google or Apple Pay and Wallet features. The GarudaMiles tab especially leaves much to be desired. It was not straightforward to find my activity history (hidden in Profile tab).

Pales in comparison to the apps of its regional rivals (SQ, MH) or the big Mideast carriers (EK, QR, EY)

The latest version still only able to show the card and do bookings, and nothing else. Please fix

Fix FlyGaruda. Too many delayed responses. Often things are just clunky. Don’t look like they’re native on iOS rather a website displayed via FlyGaruda . Not intuitive interface. Bad English (truly appalling)

I'm using the latest version 2.1.1. Frequent flyer function not working, can only show e-card. Despite of several attempt to fix the issues from the last several updates, several functions such as mileage statement and claim not working, online check-in also still not working. On the other hand, ticker purchase function is working fine. Hope Garuda fix the issue ASAP.

The apps works with basic features, like booking and checking in. But I would like Garuda to update their apps to better suited iPhone X screen, it’s a bit embarrassing for big airline like Garuda to not update their apps yet.

Also please consider supporting  Wallet for booking tickets and Garuda Miles cards. And while you’re at it, support electronic boarding pass using  Wallet too.

App keeps crashing when I try to log in to Garuda Miles. It’s not been fixed for the last 2 months!

Its a good app! Pretty eye catching, but still needs a bunch of improvements!

This all new version is alot faster and less buggy, thanks for the update capt!
