Great service, flat shipping fee but..

I was recently recommended Tavour by a friend.
They have a great selection of beer that are hard to find. The flat fee is great too. Unfortunately I needed to change my shipping date to a Saturday. I didn’t care what date, even if it was 2 weeks away. The customer service didn’t respond to my first email. The second email I mentioned I got no response, so they responded then. After going back and forth they said I had a Wednesday delivery and they could only deliver on a Wednesday. (Tavour said a Friday delivery date) due to a signature needed I requested it be moved to Saturday so I can be home to sign for this. They refused my request. They said they could deliver to the nearest wine spirit store for me to pick up. Which isn’t what I requested. All I wanted was it to be bumped up one day or the following weekend. So for that simple request they couldn’t do, I would not recommend buying if you work 9-5 Monday to Friday and can’t be home for a delivery on a workday. Most places wouldn’t mind changing a simple request like that. And all couriers deliver on Saturday's. I also had part of my order canceled due to no stock available. Even though I already paid. So not sure if they benefit certain accounts and give a priority or not either.
so now I have to change my shipping address to my job site and pray they don’t deliver to the wrong address. haha

Craft Beer Community Rejoice!

If you consider yourself a part of the ever growing Craft Beer Community, then this is app is your vehicle. Every day new beers are added and the variety is unlike any inventory that you could ever build on your own. this app keeps it simple, AND chock full of information about every beer that is featured! The Hops that are used, the flavor profile that can be expected, the “canning date” which guarantees the freshness of the product, they even give you a little background about the Breweries AND my favorite part - a freshly poured beer so that you can see exactly what you are getting! For me, I absolutely love N.E. hazy IPAs. Tavour has broadened my horizons to so many other styles of beer, Stouts, Porters, Sours, Saison, you name it... they got it covered! Again, if beer is your thing, you’d be crazy not to give it a shot, at least once. But I also guarantee that when that first beer crate arrives, you’ll already start loading up your next one!

Some delivery issues.

So I was stoked to get Tavour and start getting some craft beers. Well I jumped in head first and dropped $300+ on Tavour the first month. Unfortunately nothing was delivered even though the tracking says “delivered and signed for.” So I guess someone’s just faking the signature because it wasn’t me. I also tried contacting them and their delivery partners. Delivery “GLS” wouldn’t help and said I have to speak to this app. So far no reply from this app. Complete scam. Don’t be sucker like me. Even my friend had the same experience. It’s not a fluke. This is a scam app. Be warned!

Update: It took 5 days for someone to get back to me. Not unreasonable but for what I spent I was fairly panicked. After a couple days of communication they offered to refund my order. I agreed and received my refund. The customer service was polite and professional (this is the redeeming factor for this app). I actually had some beers ordered this month prior to last months package being misplaced. I will wait to see how this months delivery goes before I decide if Tavour is worth using or not. We’ll see.

Great App and Awesome Service

I have been using Tavour for several years and it has become more accessible using VoiceOver, Apple's proprietary screen reader. This service has given my partner and I the opportunity to try new and unique beers from across the country. He enjoys the IPAS, I enjoy sours, and we both enjoy stouts, and with two new selections coming up for grabs each day, our crate is always brimming with a varied and interesting selection each time we request a shipment. I also appreciate that this app has a phone number that can be reached if there are any questions, concerns, or changes. I'm glad that I found this service. Now, my only quibble (but it's not this app's fault), is that I work for the government, can't get packages at the office, and so have to pay a friend to stay at our place to sign for our crates. Thankfully, my friend is happy to receive payment in beer!

Terrible customer service

Edit: They blamed it on Covid and did nothing to make it right. All the beers I did receive were damaged and flat. Ive had to deal with delays in shipping multiple times for no reason. First Tavour not doing what it’s supposed to do when I reached out to the company’s customer support they acted like I was doing something wrong by telling them what the problem what. They then put the blame on something out of their control and acted as if I was being unreasonable. Secondly I reached out again the following week and after they said they had shipped it out they sent me a mass email telling me their would be delays beginning that week because of a Covid 19 scare. Then I reached out again because they hadn’t fixed the problem and They shuffled me around thru different employees until I landed on the lead of marketing Megan B who was so unhelpful and incompetent that I had them cancel my order give me a full refund and terminate my account. They then replied to this bad review to try and save face to spin it like it was out of their control. Even though I told them exactly what to do to make it right and they refused.

Great App, horrible shipping.

Tavour itself is amazing. Love having access to all of these amazing beers. Whoever writes the descriptions is an amazing marketer. I’ve bought beers I normally wouldn’t just because the description was so good. However, the local delivery service they use for Las Vegas (I believe it’s GSO) is horrible. I can’t have my beer delivered to my work, but am able to schedule my days off for the scheduled delivery date. After 4 months of using this app, I have had to waste an average of 5 days sitting at home only for the delivery person to never show up and the company send me a text saying I wasn’t there to sign. Other times I’ve heard them knock, and by the time I’ve opened the door (like 10 seconds) he’s already in his truck driving away. When I’ve called their customer service, they don’t even try and fix the situation. After my next open crate ships, I’ll be deleting this app. If you can ship your beer to your work, then so highly recommend Tavour. If you can’t like me, good luck getting your beer.

Update Refresh

Love Tavour and their service. The only issue preventing me from giving 5 stars is context switching when using Tavour . Every time I switch from the this app app to a different app and then go back to this app it refreshes and takes me back to the first beer on the featured beer list. This is annoying if I’m trying to view a beer in the middle of the list, then switch to the Untappd app to view the beer’s ratings for example, and then when I go back to this app I lose my spot on the beer list (i.e. sent back to the first featured beer rather than the beer I was viewing).

This might sound trivial but it is super annoying when I’m switching back and forth between this app and Untappd trying to decide if I should purchase the beer(s).

Please update Tavour to fix this bug. It almost discourages me from using the this app app all together.

A Great Service

Update: I feel as if the shipping has taken longer my last couple boxes.. by nearly a week compared to earlier boxes. My last box also had some "bad" beers that didn't seem to last the journey. The prices seem to have gone up as well for any of the IPAs which is disappointing. I've been getting a box a month for about a year now but am going to take a break and maybe try again in a few months.

I'll start by saying as a service I give 5 stars. I've been able to try so many good west coast beers on the east I never would have been able to try. Plus while their shipping can take a bit long, it's worth the price and wait. Tavour makes it easy, but glitches sometimes and needs to be restarted. I also suggest being able to deep link into the Untapped app right from a beers page, they have an API it's possible! I basically open untapped every time a new beer pops up.

Anyways keep it up! Got a few friends into it as well.

Great Craft Beer, Pay for What You Want

This concept is great, advertise craft beer of all styles and price ranges and let the customer choose what they want, unlike others that bundle beer boxes and you're stuck with a monthly surprise subscription. Add beers to your cart/ cellar as you see them and choose your shipping date for $15 flat rate shipping. Some high quality rare beers go as high as $22 and some core beers that you wouldn't normally have access to in another state go as low as $6 for 2 cans. The shipping itself is hit or miss, but that's the carriers fault. Just make sure you ship to an address where someone can sign for it Monday through Friday and you're all good.

Great beer, unbelievably crappy couriers / delivery services

Provides access to great beers, many of which I would not otherwise be able to find locally. They do tend to be on the pricey side, but usually I think it’s worth it. However the local delivery service that they use (in the Denver area at least) is beyond awful. You have to call them if you want to receive your shipment, otherwise they’ll ignore it - they don’t proactively contact you to schedule delivery. Also their delivery drivers are too lazy to walk up to the front door and actually ring the door bell, so you can sit around all day waiting for your delivery, only to find out at the end of the day that they took your shipment back to the warehouse with them. Given the summer heat, half my expensive my beers will probably be ruined by the time I actually manage to get my beers from them. this app - please find a better delivery service!

Use a third rate shipper...and you will have problems

this app has a great selection of beers and many are very rare. Tavour is easy to use and works to perfection. The problem is their decision to save costs by going with a third rate shipping company. If they used FedEx or UPS...even the USPS the entire thing would be great. But they use a shipper that no one has ever heard of and it ruins the entire experience. I was skeptical of this process and did it to see how well it would work...the answer? Terribly. One shipment went missing...and the other was severely damaged resulting in broken bottles. Once this app stops being cheapskates and goes with a first class shipper I will give them another chance...until then it is not worth it. I have many options within driving distance to get good beer so why go with an app that has missing packages or some of the beer is destroyed in the shipping? Not worth it. If they wise up and go with FedEx or UPS then give them a chance. Until then...I would pass.

Good Idea Horrible Execution

Tavour does offer some great beers that are hard to get. Their model really fails on the fact that they charge when you add items into your crate. Then when it ships, they use the most unreliable shippers they could possibly find. When something goes wrong as it almost always will with the shippers used they claim it’s a third party and not their delivery service. Like their customer had any choice in who they chose to use. I found this service to be highly suspect and was not able to get any beers actually delivered. The service was frustrating and overall a bad experience. I most money and received nothing and didn’t get any meaningful resolution. The US does have absurd laws over shipping booze but that’s no excuse for not providing a workable service. I suggest you use use Tavour with caution and if you do I hope you have better luck than I did with it.

Not flexible

Honestly, I haven’t received any beer yet. I’m sure the flavors are amazing. But after reading reviews of horrible shipping, I don’t ever expect to receive my first crate. My first order was by accident. I was hoping to be able to pick a delivery date (bc Friday is the only day I could receive order in person). But you can’t pick a ship date that lands on any other day besides Wednesday. Not to mention my discovery of how hard it is to cancel and refund ur order. I literally tried right after I made it. Only way is to send an email (which I did) but no reply back. It’s only like 30 bucks so I’m not too bummed about it. Wish Tavour was more flexible with pick a delivery date and cancel orders. Bc it’s almost a one click buy (which I wasn’t expecting). Was expecting more options to pop up will confirming order...nope haha. Maybe I’ll get lucky and get my first crate. If I do I’ll be more inclined to up my review and keep ordering. Fingers crossed

Garbage Delivery Service

Tavour and the beer are fantastic. However, the delivery service might be the worse thing ever. Between this app and the delivery service they can’t seem to tell you with any certainty what day your beer will be delivered. I stopped buying from them when the delivery service hit my car while completing a delivery, and guess what he wasn’t insured. I had to use my own insurance to fix my car. A year later I decided to give them another try. App told me beer was to be delivered today. Towards the end of the day I called the delivery service, and they said what beer. We don’t have your package check with this app. So I write this app and they were kind enough to say sorry. Your beer won’t be delivered before the weekend, looks like Monday. Sweet you are 0 for 4 on getting a delivery right. Yep, chill it’s only beer. Right, but I’m wasting my time writing this because it really is that bad. Be warned.

Great App, Horrible Shipping

I had Tavour for 2-3 months and I received two crates. I love Tavour and the selection that is provided. No knocks on Tavour itself, but the shipping is an absolute joke. It’s clearly not on this app as it shows on the tracking that it gets to the third party shipper for final delivery. I had issues both times. They don’t call to setup a delivery time as they say. When calling into the office they say they’ll get right on it, only to not hear from anyone for multiple days. Both crates I ordered were in shipping limbo for almost two weeks each. Due to the issues I won’t be placing another order. If a new shipping partner replaces the current one I’ll be back. For the amount you wind up spending you would expect better customer service from their partners. Hope they clear it up!

Very Cool Concept

My buddy turned me on to Tavour. The selections are very unique but be quick because they sell out fast. They offer a solid mix of beers which include IPAs, Sour IPAs, Mead, Barleywine, etc. Needed google to help figure out what exactly some of these were. If you aren’t sure about a beer beeradvocate and untappd are great sources. The one complaint I read about was the delivery service. We’re in the middle of a pandemic and I got my beers on the expected delivery date so no complaints. Also you can see what other people using Tavour scored your beer as well as leave your own review. Very fun and the updates keep you coming back.

Painfully slow delivery

Often times it’ll arrive at my local delivery service after waiting for days and I’ll still have to wait almost a week later to get my beer. On top of that they will not give you a delivery date. So if they show up and you are not home they won’t deliver since it’s alcohol and someone needs to sign for it.

My latest box was shipped early without notification/option to cancel my order because they are no longer shipping to my state. Shipping fee is a flat $15 so I always try to load up on beer to make the shipping worth it. If they are going to force your order to be shipped weeks early they should give you a chance to cancel your order.

I love the idea of Tavour, but it needs a lot of improvement.

A big letdown

I had ordered a few times last year and had a different experience every time. The last two shipments were forced to ship earlier than I was wanting to. Second I had a shipment said it was sent December 14 and just yesterday March 13 I finally received my credit back for the order that never came.

I’m not one to write reviews but this I had to let people know how bad my experience was. I tried to contact the support team and if I got a response and usually a general statement of it has shipped for 3 months. I contacted them about every two to three weeks with no real answer as to where my order was and or what would happen next. I had to initiate a refund just to put this order to rest! I have personally warned all my friends and hope this helps someone else.

Cool app but weird notifications

Tavour is awesome, gives me opportunities to drink some beer i never would’ve had the opportunity to. However, I’ve only had Tavour for a month and it’s starting to seem like they either have a list of people to notify first when a new beer drops or everyone doesn’t get notified at the same time. I’ve missed some pretty rare beers either due to late notifications or not being notified at all. Once i clicked on a new drop notification and it said the beer was already over 50% gone. IT HAD JUST DROPPED??? HOW?….i dunno man. If there is an “Exclusive list” please put me on it, that’d be nice. Overall app is worth it, watch out for the shipping i hear though.

Very convenient way to try new beers

I love craft beer, but to be honest, I'm kind of lazy about it. this app has really helped me out there. :) I get push notifications every now and then (not too many) telling me about interesting new beers for sale. All I have to do is hit the notification and say how much I want. At the end of the month everything I've ordered is boxed up and sent my way. Tavour makes it easy to see what the last few beers were in case I wasn't paying attention, and it will also show which one's I've already ordered (so I don't accidentally double order; or maybe I want to double order...).

Love this company!

I’ve gotten 2 shipments now with no issues. The beer selection is always great. Their customer service is AMAZING. I have e-mailed them with the most mundane problems and someone always responds very quickly, even long after traditional business hours. I am most impressed with their customer service. That being said, I am lucky enough to have a signer that works from home and so is always there at delivery time. I also have never needed mine on a particular time schedule. So I’m not sure about any issues with their carrier, but it looks like this has been a problem for some.

Excellent Service

Selection is excellent, service is on point. When the courier broke a bottle, this app took care of it. When I accidentally ordered 4 bottles instead of 2, they corrected it on the spot. They have a business model mentality of “do well by doing good.” I’ve been nothing but impressed by the way they run their program.

For those that haven’t celebrated the courier service, they cannot use Fed Ex, UPS or USPS either by policy or law. Delivery takes a bit longer because of this, but as mentioned before- any issues I’ve had with the courier this app has been exceptionally helpful.

Flawed service.

this app is an exciting concept. I've been able to try beers that would have otherwise been completely out of reach, either because of local distribution limitations, or limited quantities released. But what has influenced me to stop using the service is completely inept distribution, and frankly clueless customer support agents. After my first crate arrived damaged, I was given credit that didn't even cover the shipping cost. 2nd crate was delivered intact and on time. 3rd crate was delayed by a week, with no visibility into the package's whereabouts. My 4th crate is currently MIA, 2 weeks after it left this app HQ. I've been again offered credit, this time covering the $15 shipping but no accounting for the >$100 of missing beer. Spend your money locally, as I will be doing from now on.

Seem to be a very nice company due to reviews from my experience I placed an order did not receive my beer got in contact with customer service told them it’s 3 weeks plus they said they have no credit card on file to charge shipping I don’t understand if I paid for the product why wasn’t I not charge shipping at the time of purchase I then replied there’s a gentleman if it takes that long to get the beer please cancel my subscription he reply to me saying That it’ll be a 50% charge for restocking i said to the employee The Product Hasn’t been shipped out or prepared to be shipped out why are you charging me 50% restocking fee he replied that’s the policy I personally think that’s the wrong that’s not the way to do business I then told him your company needs the money more than me they can have have the money thank you

Wanted to like it

It’s a great concept. Sometimes they do have good beer that you can’t get locally so it’s nice to be able to grab something unknown. They still don’t have anything insane rare so don’t expect that. They also charge a lot more per bottle than you’d pay in a store if you have one that carries the beer you’re looking for. I mean A LOT more. Shipping works well but freshness is hit or miss. The beers come with god awful long emails that take you on an unnecessary journey down copywriter lane to actually get to the beer you might consider purchasing.

My biggest gripe right now tho is that Tavour just doesn’t work. It’s completely blank as of the latest iOS update and no amount of logging in/ out or uninstalling/reinstalling helps. There is also no way to let them know except this way. So hey - your app is broken.

Tavour Rocks (and so does the app)!

I've been a very happy customer for the last two+ years. I'm continually impressed by the quality and variety of the craft beers they offer, many of which I've never seen in the wild. I've never had a problem with an order being incomplete or late.

I signed up before they had an app. Tavour has made it much easier to keep current on the day's morning and evening offerings. The beer descriptions are thorough and helpful and the ordering process couldn't be simpler.

These guys are big-time beer enthusiasts and their passion is on display daily.
