The UI would be fantastic, if the alert handling wasn’t so disruptive. No ability to dismiss them, or clear them, or snooze them. Every time you open VictronConnect to check charge state the entire screen is plastered with alert boxes in illogical order. You have to then click to raise the alert box from the bottom and then close it to see SOC.

Really? I’ve seen the alerts. VictronConnect has 10 of them, why do I need this anytime I open VictronConnect ? Seriously bad.

I upgraded my solar charger to the Victron SmartSolar 75/10 then downloaded VictronConnect on iPhone X. It works like a dream! It is great to have so much real time and historical data about how my system is working. The only issue for me is that there is no LiFePO4 battery setting as such. It has to be configured through VictronConnect which is fortunately easy and intuitive. Would be six stars if it had a default LiFePO4 setting. It would make it one of the few chargers made for (in my opinion ) the best domestic/camping/marine battery technology to date. Well done Victron! Excellent product which works seamlessly with VictronConnect!

I’m using this with the 712 battery monitor. One of the best features of VictronConnect is being able to graph voltage against current over time (the “Trends” tab). The frustrating part is that as soon as you exit VictronConnect and come back, the history is gone, and it starts all over. At least let VictronConnect log the last 24 hours and continue logging in the background. This would make it a five star app and it would be tremendously useful in understanding what’s going on with our batteries, devices that use power, and chargers putting power back into the batteries.

VictronConnect and its features are great when connected, however, there is zero support for when VictronConnect is backgrounded or when the device display sleeps. If you are trouble shooting or learning your system/setup, you have to babysit the device so that it doesn’t sleep so that you can see a graph over time. I’ve seen other reviews about this but with 4-stars, that’s terrible. This really is a huge downer about VictronConnect and needs attention from the product team. The core feature of VictronConnect are rendered pretty useless because of all the drama around connection loss and re-establishment.

Please invest the time to fix this and the system becomes 5-star.

VictronConnect gives the basic information I’m looking for, but is extremely frustrating to use because it has to reconnect to each device every time. Bluetooth doesn’t require this type of reconnect so this is really frustrating. Like other reviewers, this history charts are on of the list compelling g features, but history is only displayed if you’re connected and have the screen active. It would be SO MUCH BETTER if history was tracked even when I’m not connected to the device! A small memory chip in the device would be an easy thing to add that would solve this issue.

Easy changes:

1) The Trends tabs are currently pretty useless. Have devices save their history locally and load it into the UI when the user views the Trends tab. Keep at least a few days worth of data (at a reduced sample rate if necessary.)

2) History tab should be swipe le to see a few days of summaries.

3) Add better alarm notifications.

More difficult changes:

4) The UI could be overhauled to show the whole installation as a system. Connecting to individual units becomes problematic very quickly beyond just a few units.

5) Upgrades could be automatic and in the background

VictronConnect was surely not tested on the iPhone SE there are so many places where icons are obscured and screens don't fit to the display while scrolling does not work. For example the history tab does not fit into the display. The status page also does not fit but at least I can scroll. However the touch point is only at the lower part of the screen. Usability wise the update is quite a step backwards. At least on my iPhone SE.

In addition, since the latest firmware update my iPad Air 2 does not list my MPPT 75/15 charger. I can now only use my iPhone to connect to it, so be aware this may happen to you as well.

The new look is definitely easier to navigate and nicer to look at. I'm using with the SmartSolar 75/15.

One drawback, I can't find daily power consumption in the history screen anymore. Is this feature no longer supported? If not, how can I revert to the older app? Consumption tracking is one of three primary reasons I bought this controller.

Thank you Victron for making this app available on MacOS as well. You are doing a great job making you products compatible with modern day devices and easy for users to update. One request. Please update VictronConnect to be compatible with the iPhone X (ten) display!

Those of you who need more extending historical data than that which is offered via VictronConnect need to install a Venus device (can be done cheaply by installing the free Venus os on a raspberry pi) and upload data to victron’s excellent (and free) VRM service. The data available is virtually unlimited.

When switching to another app from Victron Connect, the Bluetooth connection to a Victron device closes and must be reestablished. Please include an option for background refresh.

[15 March 2021] Include option to disable measurement on the ‘Aux input’ of the SmartShunt if a voltage or temperature is not measured.

I use VictronConnect to connect to my SmartBMV and MPPT charge controller. Overall the UI is very nice and VictronConnect provides a lot of useful information. My only wishlist item is that Trends for the BMV could provide historical data, not just information beginning at the time I opened VictronConnect .

Great software. Love the firmware updates that are coming through. But lacking in carplay interface. It would just be a whole lot safer if all your readings can be displayed on a carplay unit than having to scroll through your phone to get to the interface you want

A bit ‘buggy’ used from my iPh. The software promises some useful functions and I am able to perform basic battery settings. I would rather have a dedicated display for information and settings. VictronConnect generally crashes after a few clicks into the battery setting and out to the live data.
VictronConnect pairs with the BT dongle in erratic ways as well. When it disconnects and fails you have no data, no adjustment capacity, and little idea about the cause of failure.

Great to have the data, but it’d be nice to be able to choose a default device that automatically connects every time app is opened. I suspect most users only have one Victron device.

Trending is not functioning correctly. It does not maintain/save data collected. Only user should have option to delete. Need to compare tracking across multiple uses. Useless otherwise. Also should add ability to keep tracking for a selected period (even if in background)

Thanks for VictronConnect , works great! I wish there was a watch app so I could customize my watch face to show me stats from my system, like state of charge, solar charging watts, etc

Love it! Sure beats social media! Lol

When does the Apple Watch app/widget come out? Really though.. if I could have SOC and current on my watch face while sailing….

VictronConnect is really good. There needs to be the ability to "name" devices in VictronConnect . I have multiple solar chargers and monitors attached. It gets confusing. If you add this, I'll change rating to a 5 star.

Why does the Trends data have to erase itself every time you leave VictronConnect ? So infuriating to let my phone sit there with VictronConnect open for an hour to see the data then forget and go answer a text and delete it all.

Love VictronConnect , but the trends chart should really be recorded. I’d like to be able to see the chart from the whole day but you can only see what’s happened while VictronConnect has been open.

BMV712 works great with my iPhone 6+. Very pleased with it. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again, if needed.

App just sits and hangs at 20% progress. Have downloaded several times, can connect from other devices just fine just not my iPhone XS. My wife’s XS connects just fine too. Have no Bluetooth issues since I can connect over Bluetooth just fine with other devices.

Rock solid app, well designed and very useful. Please, please, please add 1/10 percent increments to “State Of charge” % to bring up to parity with the hardware battery monitor display.

I would love access to a little more historical data but overall great

Should have never updated my app I always enjoyed going to the nicely laid-out white screen to see how my solar was doing, I'll probably never check it again. Certainly not ADA compliant with white text on all solid blue background. And forcing horizontal scrolling is an epic FAIL.

Historical data is useless. No graphs on the power meters. Not iPhone X compat. Pretty poor.

I'm setting up a system for my camper and wanted the option to be able to set the solar charge controller settings. Combining the V.E. Direct Bluetooth interface, this program, and VE's MPPT 75/15 controller gave me that option.

I haven't finished the final system (I'm currently using my existing flooded acid battery) but VictronConnect is well designed and gives me access to many of the settings I want to control.
