Seems Roadie is missing the point these days. I’ve used Roadie successfully since they began this service but not any more simply because of one very bad change. It used to be you post a gig and drivers apply. That gave me a chance to interview the applicant and determine the best fit for my needs. My gigs always involve high-end furniture so protecting my asset is important. Yesterday my gig was automatically scheduled by Roadie without my ability to select my best fit. The driver showed up with my new coffee table badly damaged and unrepairable as the gouges are deep past the finish and into the wood. The truck used was owned by an construction worker. I know this because his truck has advertising on it saying he does insulation and the truck was filthy with construction materials, very large metal construction tools and so on. He arrived to pick up my coffee table at 1:55pm and arrived at 4:40pm yet the drive is only 40 minutes. When I reported this to Roadie they claimed he had no other Roadie deliveries scheduled. My guess is he made other work related tasks possibly taking my coffee table in and out of his truck thus damaging it. I will never use Roadie again therefore they lost a steady customer. The point Roadie should understand is their clients care who handles their merchandise. Leaving us in the blind leaves us vulnerable and at risk. Bad decision Roadie.

If you happen to have any issues while picking up a gig don’t think that roadie can help any time soon. I had an issue picking up an item that wasn’t correctly described, contacted support and didn’t get a call back till 45 min later. By that time the gig was completed and all I heard on the other end was a defensive “customer support” person that basically told me what I did wrong and kept me on the phone for 15minutes to explain why I was wrong and what I should have done. If you didn’t spend 15 minutes explaining to your drivers what they do wrong maybe you would have the time to answer phone calls and get back to people faster than 45 min. Your company needs to re-evaluate their customer service employees and listen in to phone calls. If it wasn’t for the drivers you wouldn’t have a company.

I have no problem with pulling a background check on drivers but to give some unknown group of folks access to my credit report, DMV and anything else they "see useful in determining my credit and trustworthiness" seems a potential for identity theft. I am on other shipping sites and have not been asked for access to my credit report. With the extremely high rate of identity theft these days, not a risk I'm willing to take. Be careful who you allow to pull your credit report, gives them EVERYTHING they need to steal your identity. If they are going to be the "employer" then information would be appropriate BUT if they are only basically a lead generation website like uShip then providing all the information they ask for is not only inappropriate it is a risk potential.

I posted a job and several drivers were eager and willing to take the gig. They all put in requests and I received no matches. I tried changing the comp, the delivery pick up and drop off time, everything. When I finally got fed up and contacted Roadie by phone to ask for help and say how there seemed to be some major issues with how jobs are given out and accepted, I was told me “this is how it works and we’ve never had a problem before.” However, looks like many people have complained about matching drivers and the confusion about how to time things so drivers can get jobs. Maybe customer service should learn to listen to the customer and pass on our feedback rather than get defensive.

It took Roadie about three weeks to JUST complete my background check. I would call & call, over again - just for them to tell me to wait. Finally once my background check had been cleared, I never had a successful gig. I would be receiving notifications all day & night .. & being a college student that needs a little pocket change - I would be sure to apply for every gig notification. After a month of applying , not ONCE had I ever been accepted to drive or make any money via Roadie app. Complete waste of time & energy. After my 60th or 70th decline .. I just deleted RoadieDelivery off of my phone & applied for a REAL delivery job locally. Please if you are interested in making cash .. RoadieDelivery is not RoadieDelivery for you. Shameful

I used to love this's app and used it on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, when I tried using it today I noticed I was unable to select the driver. I needed a large and expensive couch delivered so I stated I preferred a box truck and a driver with help. You matched me with a driver who has a small pick up truck, no help, and an attitude. When I asked him if he had extra help with him he said with attitude "no I don't need help". The item was very large so he would indeed need 2 sets of hands. I ended up canceling the gig and noticed the assignment had been given to a driver I had used in the past who arrived at my location with a drop off that took extremely too long because he had brought his inexperienced wife to help him. He was an amateur delivery man for the size of the furniture he was delivering during my first interaction. Why on earth would you select him to pick up another oversized delivery??? Big FAIL. It is very unfortunate you changed your process. I imagine you will loose many users by taking our ability to choose drivers away. Good luck... you will need it. PS hire someone to answer your customer service phones. Happy to comeback as a user if you switch back to your previous protocol.

RoadieDelivery has been a big disappointment for me. First, the developers required me to create a profile and supply them with my bank account info before I could even look at available jobs in my area and see if this is something I want to do. That is obviously totally backwards and not cool right from the start. Then once I supplied that info and opened the available jobs tab on RoadieDelivery , nothing showed but a blank screen- no “no jobs available”, or anything, just a blank screen. Then when I went to the support tab, there’s no phone number for anyone to talk to, just a support forum. So I tried to sign up for that forum, and when I tried to complete that process, I received a notification that my phone is not set up for e-mail, which is absolutely not true. I have no idea how to move forward with the process of using RoadieDelivery. It looks like it’s a pretty well-designed app and it should be a good one for me to use and make money, thus I’m not giving it a one star review. But already, I’m at a dead end. Hopefully the makers of RoadieDelivery will see this comment and reach out to help me straighten this problem out.

*UPDATE*
Watching the reviews the last few months. This gig app indeed is pointless if your working full time.
Seems only worthwhile if your part of the lyft/Uber crowd or some other profession where your already driving around all day possibly with a large vehicle.
Don’t dream you’ll be delivering things during your commute and errands. Won’t happen.
——————————————————————
I live next to a populated business hub in north Orange County and pass by John Wayne airport on the way to work and on the way back and through a whole corridor of many businesses the whole 25 miles.
Weeks have passed and nothing has shown up. Just Home Depot deliveries and airline lost bag deliveries for ASAP delivery right in the middle of the day, deep in the heart of Los Angeles and San Diego.
While the intent of the application is citizens and small businesses casually delivering things during commutes that’s not how it’s being used. Seems more like large corporations using it to dash deliveries across cities ASAP for “pennies on the dollar” instead of a delivery service or having their own employed driver.

Hello,
I really like the concept of RoadieDelivery. I can find it very useful to acquire a few trips at once to make some extra cash.
Flaws?
1. Payout - RoadieDelivery needs some kind of payout system where the drivers can track their money owed to them. After you complete a trip, it just says that you completed it with the amount owed. I believe that if RoadieDelivery had a section dedicated to payouts and have control over when they get paid, more people would use RoadieDelivery. It takes over 4 days to get any money done from the trips. Please make this a quicker, if not, instant transaction.
2. Ratings - Senders are allowed to rate drivers before the delivery is complete. Please update RoadieDelivery to where senders are allowed to rate once the delivery is complete.
3. Navigation - Roadie needs to have some kind of navigation in RoadieDelivery or a way to open up navigation from RoadieDelivery . We have to copy the address and then open up a navigation app for it to begin. A quicker exchange would help make deliveries easier.
Like I said, it’s a great app and I like using it, but it could still use some good updates.

I used roadie as a driver this past week while I was driving from Colorado to Pennsylvania visiting family. I highly recommend it! I was able to pick up rides along my route that paid for my gas/tolls/hotels. I do wish they would fix the glitches. I noticed for example when you click on a past conversation it says that the gig is no longer available even when it is. Also there's no notification when someone answers a question that you had.
I also wish you could sort the gigs by location, or how far off your route it is, or by the item's size. Also there should be a way to report senders for intentionally mislabeling the size of the item or what the item is. I noticed there were lots of gigs where the sender would mark a live animal as an object so they didn't have to pay the pet fee and there was no way to report them. Or there were also people labeling large pieces of furniture as "small" items so they wouldn't have to pay accordingly. I wish roadie would police that sort of thing more.
Other than that, RoadieDelivery is great and has TONS of potential. I hope the word gets spread so that more people know about this!

I have drove a few gigs around town and have had nothing but good! I did have one instance where when I got to the pickup location the gig had been transferred to another store. I contacted Roadie and they made sure I was still compensated for the gig even though I did not deliver it since I was accepted for it and arrived to get it.
I have also had to call with questions on what to do for a delivery that required a signature but there was no one home to deliver to, I left a message and got a call back within 5 minutes with an answer on exactly what to do!
This is a great way to make a few extra bucks if you are headed to/from work or on a trip! I have even went out on my day off and made a quick $70 for just driving around in my car delivering luggage!

1. RoadieDelivery . Why the gigs 20 miles away from me asking to drive 40 miles even further considered local? Why there are no filters for local gigs to narrow the distance from my location? It is really annoying to have tons of notifications for irrelevant remote requests.
2. The service for drivers. Roadie claims that only “minimal state required insurance is needed” and “driver is responsible for all claims and contacts with insurance carrier”. My insurance company (Geico) does not agree: if you want to make deliveries - you need to buy a commercial insurance. Getting into accident while driving with a Gig will nullify your personal insurance. And it doesn’t even matter if you were “already heading that way”. So Roadie is lying about that.
So no thank you, deleting RoadieDelivery .

Ive tried over 100 gigs and rendered 20 new roadies with this platform and ended with very rude, poor, unsupportive pit crews and unfair rates, non-profitable, unfair judgment using my own vehicle and gas as well as you time. My suggestion is to stay away from this platform or app. Totally worthless, time consuming, and non-profitable. Just another app customized based on open source platform, and using other people’s source codes and integrated into their poor idea to take advantage on both senders and drivers.

Roadie offers great opportunities to make money, I just would love to see a system put in place where they look at the logistic and match drivers where they offer to drive gigs that go to similar areas and chose drivers as soon as the offer to drive not for the distance the driver is from the the pick up but from the faster driver to offer to drive. 10-15 minutes difference for me to get to the pick up is not a big deal when I can do several deliveries at the same time.

I have been doing roadie for a while now. For some reason when I offer to drive on the delta airport gigs here in Atlanta it doesn’t show my offers. I just so happen to be there one morning to see this for myself. It would be good if they could fix the glitches that the system has so that everyone has the same opportunity.
ROADIE BY UPS - MY EXPERIENCE Just tried ROADIE - a package delivery service last night. WILL NEVER EVER USE AGAIN. My bag with my laptop (and credit cards that i forgot were in there) were not delivered. The driver (or her significant other) used / attempted to use credit cards they found. It started by requesting a pickup that was assigned to Holly P. The app gave me a number in which I called to let the driver know they were close by and could pick up and continue on with their other delivery. After they hung up, they started driving toward the pickup location and eventually arriving at the location. They called and said my guy was not there, but he was in the backyard at the time. I had my guy deliver the package for pickup and that is where things went south. After picking up the package, the market for the car did not move or change locations. The package was never recorded as picked up. About 15 minutes later, i got a text asking for my address. They already had recited it back to me once, so I just resent without thinking twice about it. Looks like they needed the zip code to try the credit cards. They tried: Discover Credit One (2 cards - only one that approved 3 transactions before I cut it off) Mercury Card Best Egg They also got a laptop, notebooks, and peripheral devices. The thing that has me most upset is ROADIE'S lack of customer service. I have tried calling them and working with them on the chat room. The chat room guy told me he has deactivated the driver and that he escalated the case. Also stated to FILE A CLAIM. Fortunately, I do have a $ 500-value declaration but still have to get in touch with a live person to get the trip started. It just seems to me that I had to provide insurance for their app and customer service team not working or being helpful. The pickup had been assigned to the driver so they had or would have had the information they needed whether I gave it to them in a text / phone call. Just really sad to see this from a local based company. App started at the hub by Georgia Tech I believe, and UPS swooped it up. In my opinion, UPS needs to drop this thing like a hot potato. THEY HAVE THIEVES WORKING FOR THEM. BE CAREFULE USINIG THEM TO MOVE PACKAGES ETC.. UPDATE: I just posted this on YELP and they only had 1 STAR. Guess I should have looked there first. BAD LOOK FOR UPS
My account was disactivated around 5th Feb., I had so many family photos and memories on there. I search on apple community for a solution and the only suitable option I found was hiring a hacker from Hack forum ( Barrysanchez "hackermail" com) which turned out to be best thing. My account was recovered in just 8 hours after they told "exact" account info from me. The only problem I had at first was how expensive the process was, but I really needed my account back. I will always advise you to do you research before hiring hackers on HL
Zero advocacy for drivers. I’m a regular driver on multiple logistic accounts with 100% favorable ratings on all - including roadie. With over 50 100% favorable reviews on roadie and multiple badges it’s safe to say customer satisfaction has been stellar. One order I had a drop off to a secure high rise apt building with zero notes or way for me to get into the building. I called customer multiple times with no answer, so I placed the items in front of the door, took a picture at sent to recipients. Order must have been stolen or misplaced either way roadie blamed me and wanted me to resolve the issue days later and multiple gigs later with the recipient. As a regular drive on multiple apps doordash, ubereats etc. all of these companies will advocate for the driver and figure out a way to compensate the recipient or re deliver items. Not make the drive (whom was not his fault to begin with) resolve the issue. Use this story as a warning with Roadie. If you drive with them regardless of your driving status they will lock your account with one incident either your fault or not, there is zero driver advocacy. I will be copying this review on multiple platforms. Hopefully Roadie corrects this policy.
signed up for rodie over a month ago ap still says just a few more minutes
This is for Roadie.com in Charlotte, NC. They delivered a microwave from BestBuy and it was damaged. Box had holes, was crushed in one area, missing cardboard and ripped. The microwave itself was dented and bent. I have PICTURES from my home security cameras where you see the damage clearly and roadie.com, still trying to say it was done after he dropped off the package. I returned the item to Best Buy and will get refunded but I wanted roadie.com to know the package was delivered damaged and the guy I emailed, Wilbur, still is trying to say it is not roadie's fault or the driver. I'll never use them again and refuse any packages from them if a store uses them. It was supposed to be UPS not this company who I had never heard of before when I got a text saying they were delivering my BestBuy microwave
