Fan Smart Sync Reviews

FanSmartSync works perfectly on my newly installed fan remote. Maybe others are doing it wrong. You can't be more than 40' from the fan- no further. You can't be off at work, or not home. If isn't a remote start app. It substitutes for the fan remote.
So if you can't find your remote or you're too lazy to get out of bed and your phone is in hand, just turn on blue tooth and control fan or its lite. So far so good. Sometimes slight delay on synch when opening app
But it works great. The thing I like best is you can see on slider bar how bright lite is rather than guessing with the remote. I am real. Over age 50 and this is simple.

The wall control works perfectly with the fan. FanSmartSync works even better. Problem is that FanSmartSync will lose connection with the fan and become useless. The only way to fix it is to kill the power to the fan and rediscover it when powering it back on. This means going downstairs, outside and flipping the breaker off, wait a minute and then back on. That isn’t all that bad but I have other devices on that same circuit, one being my cable. Now my fan works but I have to wait for my cable box to reboot along with other devices. Not the end of the world but inconvenient enough to give a one star rating. The only good thing is the handheld remote still works so I tend to use that on a regular basis. So the product gets a thumbs up from me but FanSmartSync ...more trouble than its worth.

Honestly, this was a great app until I bought a iPhone 14 Pro Max now all the other phones work and mine does not. I sent a message to the developer and received nothing in return. It seems to me like this is a glitch in the software when the unit tries to connect to the phone I have three fans that have modules inside one that the remote failed on and I can only use FanSmartSync to change so I had to use an old phone as a dedicated fan, remote PS it is an SX max and by the way, it is also running something is up with the iPhone 14 promax scaffolding in FanSmartSync. Would you mind replying and telling me you’re doing something about it? I would love to give you guys a five star review but unfortunately I cannot.

I just set up three fans with FanSmartSync. So far so good. I can actually control my fans that are upstairs from the bottom floor. The only reason can think people didn't like FanSmartSync or thought it was fake is that they didn't buy the Bluetooth fan remote. I normally don't write reviews, but I'm impressed that a $50 remote/receiver can also be controlled by my smart phone. I plan to do all my fans this way. If I run into any future issues I will be sure to amend this review.

We recently installed a new Hunter fan with a Bluetooth remote. Loaded FanSmartSync and it worked perfectly.

I’ll state the obvious here: ensure that there is power going to the fan (e.g., the wall switch is on). It’s also important that the lights are in the ON position, and the Fan is in the Max RUN position via the pull chains in order for FanSmartSync to control them. I am not using a wall controller, so that could also impact things.

We are using Apple phones/iPads with FanSmartSync .

One star because it does do the basic things like turn the light or the fan on and off. Anytime you go to set a timer, you have approximately 3 seconds to spin the wheel to set the amount of time on the timer and if you have not confirmed your selection at the end of 3 seconds FanSmartSync crashes and disconnects you from the device you were attempting to control. FanSmartSync has been this way for over a year. Numerous complaints have been ignored. No updates to FanSmartSync . Obviously, customer service is not a priority; though, they likely do not even have a customer service department judging by similar feedback left on here.

For those complaining about the error msg "make sure fan is in range". All you need to do is turn the fan off (at the wall switch)and the back on. Doing this "re-syncs" your phone to fan wireless connection and all will be good again.

Would like to see one feature added. Add a button to change/reverse fan rotation (from Summer "push") (to Winter "pull")

The AP works fine. It works in conjunction with the Bluetooth remote. No it won’t magically make your non-Bluetooth fan remote work on your phone. The AP is a bit cheesy when operating multiple fans. You have to go into settings and act like you are editing the fan names to switch between multiple enabled fans/lights. It needs a way to switch between enabled devices better.

I bought the Harbor Breeze universal Bluetooth receiver for my back patio fan (Hunter) and FanSmartSync is perfect for it. It saw the fan right away and controlled it without any effort on my part. Now I can control the patio's fan and lights while doing yard work without having to track dirt into the house to get to the switches or carry around the receiver's remote.

I have search for a long time, trying to find a app that would control my fan, JACKPOT!

If FanSmartSync does not work with your fan, don’t bad mouth it! Move on to the next app and see if it works. Again, thank you for making FanSmartSync!

As another user noted, app can lose connection and the need to reset electrical circuit.

After a few too many trips to the breaker box in the basement, I installed a GFI in the outlet box the fan fed from in the same room (kitchen). Now I just test and reset the nearby GFI.

I actually use this to control my downdraft cooktop exhaust AND under-counter and under-cabinet LED light strips. WORKS GREAT.

I had the fan and light professionally installed with the Remote receiver. I have found that I have received multiple warnings “Please confirm that the ceiling fan is within range”. I am sitting directly under the fan and it still gives me the message. After it gives me that message there is no way to rectify the lack of FanSmartSync working. The only thing I can do is to go to the wall unit turn off the power and then turn it back on. FanSmartSync is really poor.

Love the concept. Wall remote works great. FanSmartSync is excellent and convenient....when it connects. First week seemed ok and now only connects maybe 10-15% of the time. Keep checking for app update to no avail. Please fix.

Update: now connects less than 5% of the time on both my phone and my husband’s phone. Keep getting a timeout warning and an occasional in range warning- when I am right next to the fan it still won’t connect.

Just installed a Harbor Breeze Bluetooth remote controller on my ceiling fan. Downloaded FanSmartSync and it found the fan and worked flawlessly with no setup.

Worked so good in my bedroom that I went back and bought another one for the living room! Both rooms work on the same app!

On off function works great. When attempting to set a light or fan timer FanSmartSync frequently says disconnected from fan. However, the timer function does work some of the time without giving an error message.

To everyone who claims this is a fake app: you have to buy the hardware and install on your fan first...then FanSmartSync controls the hardware via Bluetooth. Nothing fake about it. ;)

I don't understand why two people wrote that this is a fake app. It's the real app for the Bluetooth-enabled ceiling fan remote control units I bought at Lowes and it works perfectly. Love it!

FanSmartSync found the fan without a problem. App seems to be stable. This is great when you're too lazy or can't find the remote. I wish there was an easier way to switch between multiple fans.

Just installed fan and FanSmartSync works great but the remote isn’t working. I tried cycling power on ceiling fan with receiver and then pushed the learn button on the remote and it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions?
