The stars I give represent not the reality but the idea behind EWGsFoodScores , which could be so amazing if given an ounce of effort on EWG’s part. I downloaded Skin Deep, EWGsFoodScores this came from, a few years ago but never got much use out of it — everything I scanned was not part of their database. I was excited to see they’d updated EWGsFoodScores and combined it with one for food items. I’m really disappointed to see it’s no better than it was before. It has info for maybe one in ten items in my house, and not the ones I was most interested in seeing. These are common products from big-name brands purchased from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and the like. What the hell is in your database if not those? Seriously, what? Who do you think is using this product if not people who shop at Whole Foods, the nation’s top retailer of natural products? I wonder if I would have better luck scanning crappy Revlon products at CVS or Kmart? Come on, EWG, show a little effort. It could be such an amazing resource with a little work updating your database. Until then, two stars is me being generous.
