UPDATE: with NO HELP from anyone at Jensen I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
1. Hold settings button on your radio until Bluetooth shows on the screen.
2. Turn Bluetooth off. And press any button to move away from that screen.
3. Then hold settings button on your radio again until Bluetooth shows again and turn it back on.
4. Then press and hold the Bluetooth pair button on the unit to make it discoverable for 120 seconds.
5. Go to your phones Bluetooth and you should see your radio within a few seconds.

That’s the only thing that works every time for us now. We have the JWM70A (but not for long! We’re ripping this junk out!)

Never stays connected. Always alway always takes 30-40 mins turning radio off and on, forgetting and deleting my device with Bluetooth and trying to reconnect. I am about to rip this garbage out of my ridiculously expensive toyhauler and buy a real stereo! How did they manage to even con their way in to getting this stereo in our rig! Not to mention where it’s place I can’t even SEE the display so I HAVE to use jControl to use the radio! I’m 5’6 and the screen can only be seen if you are at exact eye level with the radio an inch up or down and it’s blank. It’s like the old “big screen projector TV’s”. Jensen is taking you back to the 90’s with this junk!

Horrible bluetooth connectivity. Yeah it works, but obnoxiously. There is no reason for all the connection messaging interruptions while you attempt to use other programs listening to the radio. Most of us have numerous device apps that make this look clunky. The interface makes no sense from a use ability standpoint. It’s like someone had a list of features and stuck buttons on a screen layout in the list order with no thought to how and what combinations are frequently used. For that matter their own remote for the RV radios is lame. They really need to get a good human interface designer instead of a programmer to plan these items.

Update: What a piece of crap. Constantly fighting with connectivity. App should be taken off store till it works effectively.

Yes, I can control the stereo with jControl , but it has a few shortcomings. One of the biggest issues is the inability to control the volume unless streaming audio from the phone. When streaming from the phone the phones volume buttons will change the stereo volume. When just using to control the stereo, the volume buttons in jControl have no effect on the stereo volume.
The other issue is I wish it wouldn't try to stream all of the phone audio to the stereo unless you are specifically Bluetooth streaming audio from the phone to the stereo.

jControl works fine for me on an iphone 6 and an ipad mini. Bluetooth connected seamlessly and has not dropped out. The functions all work and I can also control the various zones, making this a better remote than the one supplied with the JWM90A I have in my RV. Very happy with it so far, they must have worked out the bugs other reviewers have been complaining about.

Seldom connects. You have to open Bluetooth settings and “forget this device”, then, they. The iPhone off. Start the vehicle, then turn the iPhone back on. Then, and only then, turn the vehicle off. This is the only way to occasionally get a message requesting this app access pops up which then allows you to select the device in the Bluetooth setting. jControl is just terrible. On the few occasions it randomly does connect-few of the controls work. I have an iPhone 8 with current iOS updates installed. jControl is just useless.

jControl is super simple but also completely functional and intuitive. A previous reviewer had trouble with volume control and apparently Jensen has fixed that as I can control everything from jControl . It’s way easier to use than the hand held remote that came with the unit (a JWM 60A RV unit). I wish all apps were this easy to use.

I had jControl working on my iPhone X in March. It only was connected for a day and a half, then didn’t connect at all afterwards. I tried all fixes, even did research to try to get it working. After trying everything I could I just accept that I only have a choice of listening to the radio stations available in the area, which aren’t always great. I really wish someone could fix these issues because it would be really amazing to play my Apple Music through the Jensen radio and control it by the campfire.

Set this up with new camper and worked great while showing it to family, now that it is permanently setup NEVER connects to jControl . I can turn Bluetooth on the radio and listen to music but control is non existent unless I forget my device, delete it off radio then reconnect. Trying to control the volume of multiple zones is easier on jControl especially when outside, guess I’ll stick to my portable Alexa speaker when I want to listen to music outside while camping!

If you pair your phone to the stereo to play something, all seems well. Then you use jControl or the button to turn the stereo off. Yet the phone stays connected and tries to play any audio through the stereo. Even if you click Disconnect on the Bluetooth menu. Only way to stop this is to forget the device. Every single time. So useless.

this app version 4.3 is garbage. I spent weeks troubleshooting why my MS2A radio was unexpectedly powering ON when mounted in a waterproof BOSS housing in my gazebo.

Anytime my wife’s or my iPhones were just *barely* within Bluetooth range of the MS2A (in our bedroom), the this app app would wake our phones and prompt to be allowed to run (Ignore/Allow prompt).

NIGHTLY, the radio would unexpectedly power ON and switch from BT Audio to FM, usually VERY early in the morning.

After deleting the this app app off our phones, the unexpected power ON problem went away.

I can imagine how many dead RV and boat batteries were caused by this app.

This never connects to the unit, when I want it to, even after multiple pairing attempts. Then all of a sudden out of the blue I will get a request on my iPhone that the unit wants to pair (our trailer is parked next to our house). Then it works for a little while (if I am actually in the trailer) and then forgets again.

As other have said, the Bluetooth connection ALWAYS drops and misbehaves. Today I spend 30 minutes trying to reconnect my phone to the stereo. I’ve given up. This stereo and or app needs a complete overhaul to be functional as Jensen claims. Like others I’m ready to rip this out of our rig and replace with a dependable stereo.

Radio and App are compete crap. Lance should be embarrassed to install this in their top of the line units!
If you ever get connected, and you walk away more than 30 feet it disconnects. Good luck trying to reconnect. If my wife’s phone is in range, it will sometimes connect to t her iPhone and I will never be able to connect. Many other issues!

Just buy a name brand!

Jensen - jControl needs a serious update! My boat is only 4 years old but jControl feels so antiquated and slow! Every other time I use it I have to force close and it ends up dropping the Bluetooth connection. Please maintain and update jControl so I don’t have to install an up to date head unit in my boat!

I like the layout and it's easy to use...if it feels like connecting via Bluetooth.

It's hit and miss...and usually a miss. Constantly need to forget device and start the pairing all over again...almost every time.

Why develop an app if you're satisfied with 2 star ratings? Have some pride in your work and make stuff that works.

Getting the bluetooth to connect is more effort than its worth. When it randomly connects it kind of works. Well below todays standards in ease of use and quality. I still grab my portable bluetooth speaker when listening to music outside. This will be removed from my Rv.
Hopefully new will render this equipment more useable for future customers.

Doesn’t let me control the zones in my trailer with jControl . Needs a lot of work.

I was able to pair jControl with the head unit in my new Lance camper. Now for the last month it fails every time I try. Totally worthless. I’ll just enjoy the rest of my camper and forget about this worthless piece of Jensen crap.

A very easy to use app. Controlling this radio on our Holiday Rambler from my IPhone is a great addition to my enjoyment of Glamping.

This is just an okay app. Was very disappointed! Would rather use my other Bluetooth devices!

Ok fix jControl please ..
Bluetooth will take over in the middle of the night and start playing music on its own .. apparently it’ll turn on my stereo and play by it self ?!
Also app will constantly ask permission to open ..

We have a brand new trailer that this Jensen 70 whatever radio/DVD. I don’t mind the quality and I can play things off my iphone using Bluetooth but have yet to pair jControl. It’s very frustrating, I’ve read and tried all the troubleshooting and nothing.

Basically the Bluetooth connection is spotty and weak at best. It always drops connection. Many times I launch jControl and it says not connected yet the iPhone says it is. Countless forget device and reconnects are required.
