What I love about Gridplay is that it keeps tracks fairly well synchronized. It is very useful and has a lot of potential BUT...

I record on multi tracks and it sorta works IF you never ever have to do a retake and everything is just perfect. If you delete a track and retake, then it starts sounding like it overlayed a track with itself with a little delay. So if you do more retakes and you have a metronome track, each beat starts sounding like a drumroll. Now that is really bad.

Is there not one app that actually works properly and doesn’t have a gazillion bugs? Ugh!

I bought Gridplay because I play a number of different instruments and wanted an easy way to record myself on different tracks and combine them. Gridplay ONLY LETS YOU RECORD FOR 15 SECONDS. How is anyone supposed to record songs in only 15 second spurts? To record for 5 minutes, Gridplay tries to extort another 99¢ out of you on top of the existing price tag. The interface view is ugly and overcomplicated, and Gridplay starts out with a information video which fails at explaining the various icons and controls. Don't waste your money on this like I did. I regret it.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. I am a music major and have to do college class assignments using Gridplay, and I cannot count the number of times Gridplay has crashed after finishing a recording and deleting all of my work. I had to pay money for this garbage, and I feel like the makers of Gridplay owe me a complete refund and more from the time they have stolen from me. PLEASE do NOT get Gridplay, it is a nightmare that has me in tears every time I try to use it. 0/0 stars, your time is best spent elsewhere.

...Because if you ever delete a take to redo it, Gridplay will hose the audio from your previous takes. I wish I could get the hours back trying to make a simple two track recording that Gridplay kept corrupting. There is no way to save your work until all your takes are done. There is also no good way to control audio inputs. I wish there was an app that does what this one does, that actually worked.

I love the idea of being able to record while playing back previously recorded vids but Gridplay has numerous bugs that require work arounds. For example, If i load a recorded video from my picture library, the second video that I record to go with it is ALWAYS out of sync. Gridplay crashes, and certain vids for some reason won’t play back the sound.

I used to love using Gridplay but lately it always crashes when I try to play back anything I’ve recorded or try to make any edits. It’s very frustrating especially when you have recorded a lot of videos and they do not back up your work. Great app, just wish they would fix all the bugs.

I like Gridplay generally but why is it when I record the second track (with earbud to isolate the sound) when I play the two back there is a slap echo on the first track. My sneakers not on when I record the second track. Only the earbuds.

It’s either crashing or tripping out. If I record a take and don’t like it, it will still play after deleting. Or if you adjust the sound, it only adjusts on playback. Once you hit record again all levels are blaring. Used to use it before and it worked alright but now it’s useless.

Had Gridplay for years it’s been great.
Tried using it today and it crashes every time I hit play :( (I’m On I phone X)
I’ve sent multiple emails and messages to their social media’s asking for a fix, or an ETA on a fix. No response.

Update, it’s getting worse. Cannot complete more than 1 clip without it crashing. Please fix!

Gridplay is great for building and testing ur song. Needs to work on the duration since sometimes u may not know; great app

Just re-purchased this app. It doesn’t work with bluetooth headphones. I am trying to record a second clip and can’t hear what I recorded in the first one. Now I have to go buy the dongle just to use Gridplay . :(

I tried twice to record some stuff after spending the extra 99¢ for the time extension. Spending all of that time recording just to have it crash and lose everything is not worth the money I spent. Until they have a more stable app, this is a waste of time and money.

don’t know what’s wrong with Gridplay anymore. i’d be working on a project, listen to it, and it would force close. after reloading the last project it would have a delay and i would have to start everything from scratch. don’t by Gridplay. don’t even get the 15 sec version. it’s not worth the hassell.

Would like this a lot more if it supported use of playback sound on sound with an additional audio interface. Can you please add selection of audio routing?

Gridplay hasn’t been updated in 4 years!!!! I just want you to know that people DO still actually USE Gridplay! It’s been crashing & malfunctioning HORRIBLY since it hasn’t had an update since 2015! Its a great app but DEFINITELY NEEDS UPDATING to work PROPERLY on the latest iOS software!!

Records several tracks then crashes during playback, dumping all data....frustrating

This would be much better than the free acapella app if you could add things like reverb or pitch change and stuff like that. Please update, I would use this so much!

Recording freezes! It will not let me save my videos or even stop recording. Red light blinks but nothing working. I paid 3 bucks for Gridplay. Please fix the issue.

Don’t buy if your planing on using an audio interface or do t have a headphone jack it’s worthless.
