I was surprised how many items are cruel

Great app that everyone needs! Save animals while you shop how cool is that? I always ask “is that cruelty free” and besides some strange looks, sales people say “oh YES”! I use CrueltyCutter on that product and find out they are not at all.

Only issue is that I am spending more time shopping because I’m scanning every item to make sure I’m doing my part. It also starts some interesting conversations with people wondering why you’re taking photos of the items you are buying LOL! It’s so easy to interest others to download and do their part.

Works very well, no hitches, and is very quick with responses. Thanks to Beagle Freedom Project (I believe they are Rescue + Freedom Project now) for this amazing tool to save animals.

Great app! Cruel parent companies included !

I downloaded this free app as I recently decided on living a vegan lifestyle. I love how if allows you to email the animal testing company right then and there in the store after scanning their product. It lets them know why you didn't purchase their product . Great ethical app as just because the product says its cruelty free, the patent company is not and will then tell you that's is not cruelty free. Also if a product is cruelty free in the U.S, but they sell in China , it will tell you it's not cruelty free as ALL cosmetics/personal products HAVE TO be animal testing if being sold inside China . I never had issues w CrueltyCutter unless I had poor wifi connection. Love it !!!

So far pretty good

I am liking CrueltyCutter so far. The only issue I have been having is that when something g scans and is not verified in the system. I try to select the option to have it reviewed but my iPhone won’t allow the option to send the email that pops up and I’m not sure how to fix that? I looked in troubleshooting and found nothing, then tried sending this as a question through the troubleshooting support and the submit button won’t work so I can’t get the question to submit. I double checked my app settings to see if I had something blocked but from what I can see it doesn’t look like it

Read before you download

I was very excited once I downloaded CrueltyCutter. I very strongly believe in animal rights and will do anything to take a stand against animal cruelty. Everything was in working order. I scanned every product in my house, shocked at how many test on animals! I began a pile of brands I would boycott. But when I scanned my philosophy miracle eye cream, it told me they were not cruelty free. I had a very hard time believing that, so I went to their website. On their website it clearly states that they do not test on animals. So what's the deal?

As a summary, I had to delete CrueltyCutter because of the confusion. I wasn't sure if I could trust anything it said. Although, I believe a couple updates could fix this problem. CrueltyCutter is very out of date anyways.

Help the animals!!

CrueltyCutter is legitimate. Some companies will say on their website something like they don’t test on animals when they just test on animals in other countries. Like China where it’s mandatory. They will say something like this...

philosophy is fully committed to using alternatives to animal testing to ensure the safety of our products. please be assured that we do not perform, nor do we ever commission any third parties on our behalf to perform, animal testing on our products or ingredients except when required by law. (Philosophy’s website)

Don’t be fooled.. Use CrueltyCutter to help you and the animals!! 🐶 🐰

Easy & Quick to Use; Sent it to all my friends who love it too!

THANK GOD for CrueltyCutter! Finally, there is an app that quickly tells you if a product is cruelty-free or not!! It is easy to use, clear, and eliminates so much time I used to spend reading fine print on the label or googling the product company.
I also LOVE how you can scan a barcode or search by company name or search by product category!! THIS IS A MUST-HAVE APP!
I love CrueltyCutter so much that I recommended it to all my friends and they are obsessed with it too!!

Love this app

Please note that just because a companies website says they are cruelty free, doesn't mean they actually are. A lot of websites will word it to make you think they are. If a brand sells in china, they are not cruelty free and that is where a lot of confusion comes from between CrueltyCutter and websites. This is by far one of the best apps I have used to find products that are cruelty free because it is updated frequently as products change. I also like that it tells you if a products parent company tests on animals to give you a more informed decision.

Scanner doesn't work

Every time I try to use the scanner it tells me the "Due to a network issue, we are unable to process your request". Since I've tried to use it in multiple locations, I can say with certainty that it isn't a problem on my end. Still, it's nice that there is an entire list of brands you can look through to see if they are tested on animals. Just wish the scanner worked

Completely and Totally an Amazing app!!

CrueltyCutter is filled with details and discounts, information and sites to back up their information and last but not least it helps you save your time at the store googling if you product if cruelty free or not which tends to lead to you buying the product because of phone issues and frustration. So, CrueltyCutter will save you tons of time before supporting terrible brands like Covergirl or Ulta and help you support great brands like Aveda or NYX. Please, get CrueltyCutter and maybe even donate some money too. :)

Suspect

Just downloaded (purchased) and tried to find information on the payment terms (one-time charge, monthly subscription, etc) and can't find anything.

Next I try to set up my account and click on the Terms of Use Agreement and am immediately kicked out of CrueltyCutter . I've tried multiple times now to click into the Terms before agreeing to them, the last step to setting up my account, but I keep getting kicked out of CrueltyCutter . I now feel like I must dispute the purchase since I can't access the Terms to agree to them, in order to use CrueltyCutter .

Disappointed. I was looking forward to using CrueltyCutter but now feel that it can't be trusted.

Great app

As someone who worked in the cosmetic business, you'd be shocked when you learn that a brand you think is cruelty free, is owned by a parent company that does animal testing. That's why some products you think are against animal testing, may still be, but your money goes to a company that still does test!( I notice someone's review saying their Philosophy product is cruelty free, but their parent company is not!!!)

Amazing idea

Hi guys! First of all, thank you for creating CrueltyCutter, this is so smart and everyone should be using it and push brands to make a change!
I specialize in web and app design, if you ever need a little refresh i would be so happy to help you and try to push this thing to its maximum potential ! (work voluntary of course!) Thanks again and I love using CrueltyCutter !

Great!

I downloaded CrueltyCutter because animals don’t deserve to be tortured for the benefits of humans. CrueltyCutter is great for finding companies that may be stretching the truth about their cruelty free status. While the product itself may not have been tested individual ingredients may have been.

The only problem I’ve had is recently when I try to add a product it doesn’t have in the database CrueltyCutter closes all on its own.

I wish it would say more

I just got CrueltyCutter, and it is good so far. I just wish that it would say more about the product and how it is cruel. But that would just make me sad more...

I want to know if the cruelty is something not bad like "dog gets hot by car outside of factory" compared to something bad like "factory kills dogs daily" because then I will know if it's really cruel

favorite app!

CrueltyCutter works great! I’ve become more conscientious about purchasing cruelty free products and CrueltyCutter is easy to use. You just scan the barcode and it quickly tells you if they test on animals or not. I always recommend this to my friends!!

Would love to use this app but..

I would love to use CrueltyCutter I love the idea of it but every time I try to open it and make an account it freezes for a few seconds and crashes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still hasn’t fixed the issue. Please fix this because I’d love to be able to use CrueltyCutter. It’s terrible that people would animal test, makes me sick even thinking about it.

Awesome App; Needs 2019 Updating

With many companies finally going cruelty free over the past year, I find myself relying less and less on this outdated, though otherwise wonderful app. CrueltyCutter hasn’t been updated in over a year; I hope the developer has updating plans on the horizon, so that this can once again become my go-to shopping companion.

Not working

CrueltyCutter worked okay for about 2 days before it stopped scanning all of the sudden. It says "Due to a network issue, we are unable to proceed with your request". I cannot for the life of me get it to work again. I have wifi/data so I know that's not the problem. My only other issue with CrueltyCutter was the inability to add any companies to favorites from the directory, despite it saying you can do so.

Network issues

I love the idea of CrueltyCutter but when I set up an account and tried to use it, it kept saying there were network issues and to try again. I'm assuming it's because there are probably a lot of people downloading it right now because I'm seeing it all over social media, so hopefully the issue is fixed soon because it seems like a pretty great app.

Cruelty Free is way to be

Companies that test on dogs or any innocent animal can go rot in hell! The US has plenty of inmates sitting in jail cells doing literally nothing. How about we use our brains for once and put those deadbeats to use rather than animals. Downloaded CrueltyCutter and glad I did. It'll make me more cognizant of my purchases
