This sounds like a great app. I don't know if it actually is because it crashed after I entered my first footprint and now it crashes as soon as it opens every time I try. Deleting and reinstalling didn't help. I guess I'm off to find a travel journal app that actually works.

When I do the foot print the location should be automatic

I’ve tried many travel journaling apps, FP has a nice interface and is easy to use. Don’t mind paying for an app of this quality, but the subscription model for premium is a real drag. If I want to pay a monthly fee, I’d go with DO. There are other similar apps with one time fees. I’ll go with one of them. Too bad, this is a nice app and I like the logo.

So far; I haven’t been able to upload photos from google or external hard drive to create past trips. I’m disappointed by that. Hopefully someone has advice or help. Without that feature, I wouldn’t see upgrading to pay for premium. I have photos from a camera I would like to use. 😕

FindPenguins is far from intuitive. You can figure it out but it takes some doing to understand the flow. Trying to find how this thing works is time consuming and frustrating at times. The interface is quite beautiful and the functions are commendable but FindPenguins should be a no-brainer. I look forward to the team updating their support and maybe a how-to walk-through will show up along the development timeline.

So I have been testing FindPenguins out because I am planning to use it to record our travels for the next 9 months. FindPenguins is so far so good! Thought I must do a reviews to support these guys!

I chose FindPenguins so my family and friends could follow me if they choose to. It is working great for me.

I am a first time user of the Find Penguins app, using it to document my transatlantic crossing. FindPenguins does a great job of helping you time-stamp and memorialize waypoints along your journey. I wish I could post more than six pictures at each “footprint”, but the premium product does that (and more) for a cost. The standard version has a position tracker, which automatically geolocates you! I have not found this to be the big power-drain others have complained about. It would be really great if it allowed me to post my footprints on Instagram (hint hint) as it does for Twitter and Facebook users. FindPenguins is very intuitive and easy to use, I think you might like it too.

FindPenguins is fairly easy to use. Easy to upload pictures and share with friends. I take notes on my trips and then write text and add photos later. Even with the upgrade you can only have 10 photos per footprint. Wish you could add more. I ordered a book of my last trip. It looks good but is quite expensive.

I have downloaded and tested about 10 travel journal apps, and by far this is one of my fave’s.

The interface is clean and modern. Love the statistics, it shows the number of trips, footprints (Events or Moments), countries visited, etc. it’s also shows the percentage of the world you have visited. It list the flags of countries you visited. There is a beautiful 3d spinning globe that shows the countries you have been to. The above features are awesome.

Once I figured out how everything works, which was fairly easy, I got addicted and immediately started to add a lot of past trips. I have so many past trips and find that this app made it very easy to start adding these past trips. It’s so easy to search for my photos in my massive photo collection. Also, you click on a photo after you upload it in your footprint and the date and location adjusts, this simple easy to use feature allows my footprints to remain in order. Most of the other apps did not have geo tag on photos, and scrolling through thousands of photos to get to your past trip was not feasible.

Why the four stars and not the five, because the number of photos allowed to upload to a footprints is limited to only 12 as a Premium member, and 10 for basic members. This is a huge flaw, since nowadays users take 100s of picture at any given moment. I literally have thousands of photos. Sometimes for one day on a trip, I’ll have over 50 photos.

For example, if I’m at an event I’m taking a crazy amount of photos. I would love to keep those same photos in One Footprints. I hate the fact that I may have 30 photos I took, for example in a Zoo, and have to create 3 Footprints. I would love to have the ability to upload all my 30 Zoo photos in that one Footprint to keep them all together.

The other feature which I’m not happy amount is the cost for the photo albums, I find that the cost is higher in this app that most other apps.

FindPenguins would have my 100% approval rating and a 5 STAR rating if the number of photos to a Footprint was raised to 30-50, or even better unlimited!!!!

Overall, this app is totally worth it.

I used Wordpress for my last blog, and even though I was an experienced user, it was so involved the blog threatened to take more time than the trip itself. this app is simple to set up, simple to use, and has works seamlessly from both my iPhone and my Mac. I absolutely love the map feature that lets everyone see exactly where we are writing from. It’s a snap to dash off quick posts with photos in the middle of the day, as events happen.

From all the travel journals I downloaded and tested this has to be my favorite. It does have basics you can use for free but even the yearly cost to upgrade it is not expensive. (I upgraded!)

Play with and set up ahead of time and invite all your friends to watch. I look forward to the book we will make at the end of our travels.

One request: maybe I haven’t found it but is there a way to organize your journal entries? All I see is oldest or newest first. I’d love to customize my entries to the times they were taken.

I’ve tried several Apps to track my travels seamlessly. FindPenguins does it all. I highly recommend it.

This is the first time I’ve tried this. I really like the auto tracking. It’s really easy to use. Great job!

I am using this free app for the 3rd time. I find it to be very user friend. Easy to upload and to edit. If I want more than 6 photos in a day I post separate posts but you also have the option to upgrade

We are 3 brothers planning, preparing and ultimately taking a one month tour in three sports cars. Our goal is to document and publish this trip in specialized car publications. I tried many apps and found this app to best for our needs.

5 stars. I love FindPenguins. However recently the version on iPad has a bug where if you write more than a couple of paragraphs it will no longer show you everything you’ve written. I’ve resorted to writing my footprints in a separate editor and pasting them in ice I’m done. Hope this issue gets fixed soon!

I’ve blogged some 6 trips with this so far and it just keeps getting better. Developer keeps improving it and support is excellent. I’ve tried many travel diaries and this one just works. Nice to be able to post entries while offline. I recommend the pro version for the ability to post videos and more photos per footprint.

Such a cool way to track a trip and share it with friends and family.

under dark mode. cannot see anything. If you don't plan on support it quickly, just add some key in info.plist to using light mode.

FindPenguins creates great photo books derived from the user's posts, but they are only available to European users.

FindPenguins was working fine, but now it only has my new footprints offline and when I try to sync them it freezes up and shuts down...
