What is Visorando Walking Routes? Visorando is a mobile app that turns your phone into a walking GPS. It offers a wide range of walking routes throughout the UK and around the world, with each track being checked by a team of moderators before being published and shared with the community. The app allows you to know your position in real-time, be guided on the right route with detailed and verified directions, record your own track, share your routes with the community, and create your own track using the free walking planner available on the website.

- Be guided: The app will safely guide you on the right route with detailed and verified directions, even offline.
- Record your tracks: You have the possibility to record your own track while following the guidance, and then analyse it, compare it, share it or simply redo it later.
- Share: You can share your routes with the community, and GPX export is also possible for those who want to use their tracks on other types of devices.
- Create your own track: You can create your own route using the free walking planner available on the website via PC (and also on mobile if you subscribe to Club Visorando).
- Access to licensed maps: The paid version of the app offers access to a wide range of licensed maps such as OS Explorer, IGN, Swisstopo, etc. for free for 3 days following your first log in to the app. After that, you should subscribe to the Club Visorando to keep access to them.
- OpenStreetMap map layer: The OpenStreetMap map layer remains completely free, and you can continue to use the application for free with this map layer, even if you have passed the trial period for OS Explorer and IGN maps.
- Subscription: Quarterly subscription costs £4,99 and annual subscription costs £21,49. The subscription will automatically renew unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be billed within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for an amount of £21,49 for an annual subscription to the Club Visorando or £4,99 for a quarterly subscription. Subscriptions can be managed through iTunes account settings after purchase.

Downloaded VisorandoWalkingRoutes and found it reasonably useful, given that there doesn’t seem to be any comprehensive better option for someone looking for hiking info for France, (glad to hear of others).
I then opted to subscribe for the offline detailed maps (IGN) . However VisorandoWalkingRoutes never recognized the subscription (Apple store shows is at active ) . Every time I tried to active map view - VisorandoWalkingRoutes asked me to subscribe . I tried to email and posted on the forum for help - nothing , no reply, not even an acknowledgement that my request for help was received . I hence have to strongly advise against the usage and specifically the subscription ! Zero stars for no existing customer service.

VisorandoWalkingRoutes is great for finding hikes, the IGN maps, etc. It has one huge flaw: it doesn’t save your state within VisorandoWalkingRoutes when you switch away from it (e.g., put the phone to sleep, switch apps, etc.) so that when you come back to VisorandoWalkingRoutes , you end up at its home screen and not where you were before. This is verrrrrrry annoying if you’re tying to consult the directions for a hike, or a map, and have to then navigate through several screens each time.
Otherwise, this would be a 5-star app.

VisorandoWalkingRoutes blocked my phone
Popping up and blocking asking me to constantly share my position. You have literally 1 second to go to option and recede it’s functionality before finding it to kill.
Stay away from this.

Toutes les fonctionnalités ont été améliorées. Un très grand choix de randos graces à toutes les contributions, et une vraie fiabilité de l’application incluant un téléchargement des cartes pour une utilisation hors ligne.
La recherche par nom pourrait être améliorée en étant une recherche de type « contient » plutôt que de type « commence par ».
