iSpyFire used to be the defacto standard in the industry. iSpy was fast, reliable, easy to use and user friendly. It was updated nearly 6 months ago and has been horrible since. Notifications are spotty, UI buttons don’t work, and iSpy frequently crashes at the worst times. Some users in my agency can’t see calls for our department, yet at the same time somehow get notified for *every* other call in the county. Some colleagues have managed to not update their app yet, and they are doing everything in their power to ensure it stays that way. Whether the this app team wants to admit it or not, this application falls under the umbrella of “safety-critical” software. With that comes the serious responsibility of rigorous bug testing. iSpy is a commercial product for public safety, bugs of this nature aren’t acceptable. Please fix your app.

I’ve been hesitant to leave a review out of respect for this app and their staff. Hoping fixes would come soon or we’d go back to iSpy we’ve come to love and rely upon to serve our communities. The recent change in layout combined with bugs, crashes, slow loading, is disappointing to say the least. iSpy is effectively unreliable in its current state. Why new features couldn’t have been added to the old layout and design is on many users minds. I encourage the developers to go back to the old design. Work in actual useful features slowly over time without changing existing work flow.

iSpy updated this morning and I think they are working diligently to fix it. Some issues I still have are: - not being able to switch to dark mode only in iSpy (meaning I don’t have to change my phone’s overall setting for the black background in this app) - being able to turn sound off from iSpy ’s navigation system. I hit a button in iSpy and it would not stop navigating out loud - app crashing randomly - app logging me out - being able to switch agency and not see calls from other agencies I’m affiliated with that use this app - being able to see closed calls. Even though I hit show closed calls, they’re not showing. This means I will need to call dispatch for address and times if they haven’t already been written down. The previous app honestly worked fine other than the occasional times it would go offline. The only thing I wish it had was being able to use google maps instead of the native phone map which for iPhone is Apple Maps. Some people may like Apple Maps, but I don’t and would like to have the option to use google. There have already been improvements from the update this morning, but still having issues.

iSpy was in the back end of my phone how do I delete it

Since the last update this has been terrible. I get a notification then when I open it. I have no information. On my other phone I get no notifications but sometimes I can see the calls when I go to the dashboard rarely and it takes forever to come through when one does come through. iSpy went down hill from a 5 star rating to less than a 1 because it can not be relied upon anymore.

After the update it is completely unreliable and doesn’t work at all. It glitches and crashes constantly. Will not show active calls or past calls. Our fire department went back to pagers.

I disable notifications when I am off duty and they still come through. Others I work with log out and log back in. I work for multiple departments and it’s easier to stay logged in. I really wish it was like the old version where you could turn notifications on and off as needed. The new version of iSpy is very glitchy.

iSpy was once user friendly, easy to navigate, and reliable. Due to the recent update, these terms no longer apply.
•Text size has been blown up x10, which is helpful you are a 90 year old with cataracts but detrimental to everyone else. The entire screen is now completely filled, making you scroll much more than before to view calls/information.
•the map units/map etc interface was completely redesigned to have symbols instead of boxes with their title, making you search harder for them. They are also slower in loading, and all the informational details on calls are all jammed together making it look horribly sloppy.
•iSpy now has a generally cheap, thrown-together look, and no longer resembles the professional, clean app many first responders have been relying on for years.

This update was horrible executed. The individual(s) responsible should be held accountable for such poor performance. this app desperately needs to return to its previous glory.

I loved this app until this update. The old app worked much better and was easier to access things like closed calls and district boundaries. The new update crashes regularly, the "Default" text is way too big and can't be reduced like the old one, it can only be made bigger.

The positives are few, main one is it being able to give an audible alert even while the phone is on silent. The old design looked better and worked better. It is a massive pain to use now, it's blocky and low definition.

The company itself is very low tier leadership in taking criticism about their product.

I’ve never left a review on an app before but one warrants it. iSpy was fine until it was updated recently. Since then, I can’t load calls (says there’s no active calls even when I am on one), notifications don’t ever come through even when the notifications are on, iSpy is incredibly slow, trying to launch my native map crashes iSpy , call history doesn’t work… the list goes on. iSpy has become completely unusable since the update. Fix it!

Bring back old this app! Mapping is harder to navigate, can’t see the road names as well. Notifications sometimes don’t happen and when they do it’s the default sound. Calls won’t update and iSpy will crash. I appreciate the attempt to update the system but bring back the old app!

iSpy worked perfectly fine for me and my agency up until the big update a month or so ago, since then it’s been nothing but problems, I get there’s going to be bugs but maybe test it out before releasing it. And just when it started to get better again and be somewhat okay, they do a minor update on it and now when we have a call go out, I don’t get notified or I get notified 5 mins after. Also I open up iSpy and it doesn’t even show there’s a call for my dept, and I can’t see the active call or the call details it sits there and says 0 calls when I know that’s not true, because I just got alerted and my dept issued pager went off. Please fix this newest bug of not being able to see the call that goes out or the details as we’d prefer to know what we are getting into before we get there. Thank you!

New version worked much better. New version glitches out when accessing through the notification bar on lock screens. New version won’t automatically refresh when in iSpy . The only thing that is an upgrade to the old version is the maps.

The new update is terrible. The user interface of iSpy has been fantastic for the last three years, and I appreciate that they want to add cool features like scene photos but please please please revert it back to the previous format. The simplicity of the old views were navigable in our sleep. Literally.

iSpy was working perfectly until about two weeks ago when it started toning out calls twice, then again when there was a nature change. When we’re actively responding and have three rigs for the whole county, it’s insanely frustrating to have it go off 3+ times only to find the same call. Fix this please!

Excellent app. Best one out there.

After their major V2 update there was definitely a quick minute of headache. Cy and his team have quickly resolved the major issues and continues to improve iSpy on a regular basis. this app is very open to ideas and making them a reality. Our agency recently tried their Alexa alerting system and it’s a fantastic addition to our organization. Keep up the great work this app!

Have been using iSpy since it’s inception.
this app brought our dispatch standard to that of modern society. We use our phones for everything today.
Over the last decade (ish) this app has continued to roll out new features and improvements. Some don’t like the changes and occasional issues however I use the opportunity to provide feedback and see their willingness to experiment as a strength. These guys are working hard to get the best tool in our hands.

Thanks for making our jobs easier.

I’m a beta tester and as of today, iSpy is getting back to its rock solid, old reliable self. I really appreciate how the developer listens to customers and has reacted to bugs immediately. Overall this new version is going to be even better than the old one based on what I’ve seen in 2.0.2.
