Login continuously fails

I can’t log into OtterLife despite trying multiple times and uninstalling and reinstalling. There’s also no website or FAQ section anywhere.

Apple only

They say it will take info from the health app with other smart watches. That’s not true as all apps are up to date but the information never gets to OtterLife. The smart watch updates the health app rapidly but OtterLife does not connect to anything. It promotes Apple Watch extras so OtterLife must be based on Apple product to be full accessible. I love the otter and then motivation but it was a great waste of money unless you have the Apple Watch

Used to think it was helpful

However the last two weeks I kept being told I was sitting for over an hour when I was being active or that I slept when I was awake. It wasn’t one or two times it was at least 6-10 times a day. I have lost all faith in OtterLife and wish I had never spent the money on the lifetime subscription.

Wish I could give it 5 stars

Very cute app, but doesn’t really work. It freezes up won’t keep custom food I made and won’t even allow me to make new ones because it just keeps loading. Waste of money if you ask me.

sync issues

Theres issues with the sleep syncing and the calorie tracking. I clearly logged my calories and perfectly synced to my health app however when i check this app it somehow magically says i ate an extra couple hundred of calories? It suddenly says i am burning like 400 calories overnight even though my apple watch was not on exercise mode? And sometimes when i go to sleep the sleep data disappears. Please fix the sync issue. The apple watch gets off too, my apple watch would not sync my calories consumed and can take hours to sync. I love how cute OtterLife is but its not very convenient with syncing. It bugs me very much. My health app is up to date and the data is up to date but on OtterLife, it puts so much incorrect information.

Looks cute but not applicable

They don’t even let you put in a weight higher than 240…and you have to pay for this. I was so excited to have something to motivate better habits and raising a little otter would be so cute but you can’t even use it if you’re >240lbs LOL like what?

Super cute!

I’ve had OtterLife for a couple days now and here’s what I think so far.

I like the layout. It’s nice and easy to find things, and the display is super cute! I’m using the free version right now so I’m not sure if that changes anything, but I just wish there was a way to look up what all the wording and labels mean. Like if you put in a meal it might have a orange label that says “deficient” at the top but a little lower it could still say “balanced”. So if the meal is balanced what’s deficient about it? And then you can’t click to find out what the label means. I checked Q&A but it’s mostly about Apple Watch compatibility and I couldn’t see a way to actually ask a question or a link to a website for more options.

I think it’s really cute and i hope to see more improvements later!

Cute app, needs improvement

I bought a lifetime membership thinking this could be my new calorie counting app due to the cute otter and the other wellness features.

I quickly learned that the calorie counting is not user friendly. I am using another app for calorie counting right now. I would love to see this feature expand, or allow importing from other calorie counting apps.

When I tap on my otter she says certain things, but her first sentence is partly cut off at the top of my I Phone :(

I do love the tasks feature; I need something to keep me focused on my to do lists and OtterLife keeps me engaged with it. I love that I can level my otter up by completing tasks.

I also love the health features on the home page to break down how the day is going with sleep, activity and stress levels.

I am hoping for more customization options for my otter and possibly activities to do with her as well.

I am excited to see where OtterLife goes with improvements in the future and will change my rating as it merits.

Great Idea, Needs A Lot Of Work!

For starters, OtterLife is a genius idea but there are a few things that definitely need to be improved!

The calorie counter is very difficult to use since it does not have really ANY brands! All of the foods are generics (like “sushi” or “steak bowl”), if you have any food you’ll most likely have to add the macros in yourself which is time consuming. If you primarily want to use OtterLife to count calories, best to go with older apps like myFitness.

Another thing is that certain things take a while to update like changing your pets name or changing goals, they take a long while to load or update which can be frustrating.
(I’ve tried changing my height 5 different times and it keeps putting me at 5’1!)

Overall, it’s a very cute app that can help you understand your body and habits for beginners BUT (if you don’t have an Apple Watch or) if you want something with a little more information, OtterLife may not be the best choice.

Bad compared to other apps

Other apps have an open web for calorie tracking so other users can put in macros and nutritions for food or snacks, other apps also have barcode scanners which makes recording things yourself a lot easier. The thing that bothers me the most was you cant put exercises down, I dont have any smart wtach to track my burnt calories so OtterLife assumes im inactive. I wish there was a way so that a smart watch isnt so necessary for this.

Great Potential

Finding food when entering the meals are pretty difficult. But the widgets and all are super cute!

Really great, but

Really great app. Love that everything is in one but. BUT, the food portion. Hate it. There is no barcode scanner and it’s really hard to track your food correctly in there. I would say if they can upgrade how you track your food, OtterLife is a complete winner. I love that it shows you your weekly progress. But also your yearly. How amazing to see that.

LOVED IT BUT….

OtterLife is beautiful and its an amazing Idea! But unfortunately I had to leave due to the food tracking! Its so hard to add stuff and you cant scan anything. If OtterLife fixes that IM SOLD!

Sync is off

I like most of the features, but the one that is most frustrating is on my phone I have units all set for US, but on the watch… it is giving me ml instead of fl oz. I can’t seem to fix it.

Great potential, few minor issues

I really love the interface of OtterLife , and the way data is presented is in a way that makes it interesting and easy to understand. However there are a few minor issues. For one, when importing food data from Apple Health, it shows incorrect macronutrient levels. I generally have above 100g of protein daily for example, but it only shows me having 3g. On the sleep data analysis tab, the graph considers my sleep duration to be in the low range which could make sense, but what it considers to be low is anywhere between 6.1 and 34.4 hours. When looking at the stress page, all the charts (including Today) have their labels “Yesterday Status.” Again, OtterLife is entirely usable and helpful but there’s a few minor bugs that need to be worked out.

Adorable

OtterLife is very adorable. I love the various things you can track in cute ways. Especially love how you can customize HRV complication. Things I hope to see in future updates.. 1. give the option to scan your food barcodes to track intake. 2. Customize task for “every X Amount of days” instead of only certain days of the week. 3. Add more otter outfit prizes!

Just One Question

Why is the earliest birth year 1970?

The cutest and easiest tracking app

I just wanna say this is one of my favorite tracking apps and the way the little bear makes cute faces everytime u track food and water!

Great app

I tried many HRV apps, I give this one 5 stars as the dev keep updating and improving OtterLife . Lot of things added since the launch of OtterLife. I would love to have choices for the color pallet hopefully something can be added and changing the icon.

I like the concept, but pretty useless for weight loss. The app seems to think I need to eat over 4000 calories per day to lose weight which is obviously far too many calories for anyone to eat. I didn't understand the calorie budget display, but the AI wasn't able to explain it to me and the FAQs don't cover it. The AI has different personalities, most of which are incredibly annoying and one is downright rude (called me an idiot for asking reasonable questions). The AI doesn't have access to any of your information and so can't actually give any tailored advice - I had yoghurt, fruit and seeds for lunch one day and asked why it was rated deficient, the AI said it needed more protein and suggested adding yoghurt - infuriating. I also couldn't get the heart rate data to sync and there's no support for making it work. All in all I wouldn't recommend.
