Stops working after a few days , stays on your local area and when you close out of it and then use it again to takes you back to the same day as when you closed it , does not refresh to next day or any other days , lack of controls , you can go out of state Chanel’s and they up date but your local channel will be stuck

All I have is a black screen, no sound, just a search bar in where I’ve entered the desired info and BLANK. Rubbish!!

Have an IPhone, it doesn’t save where you want to listen
If you minimize it, half the time it closes OpenMHz out once you choose a location to listen too…
Needs a lot of work, will stay with the web based ….

I downloaded app and was so excited that there was finally a police/fire/EMS scanner app that actually worked and had numerous agencies that worked. Until day 2-4, OpenMHz quit working. I deleted the entire app and redownloaded it, it worked again, but for less than 8 hours. Now, I’ve redownloaded it and it’s blank! Dead! Nothing! So disappointed.

It’s empty

Needs iPad landscape mode.. nobody uses their iPad in portrait all the time. I’m confused on stations .. either it only covers stations that are odd and not in my areas (Texas!) or I don’t understand how to find them? Interface is clunky. I like the idea of the archive.. but I don’t want to listen to some farmer’s emergency network in BFE…

Scrolling down the list of saved broadcasts, the list on the right just notes the time but not the day! If I wanted to check out what happened a week ago, that would be a lot of scrolling and impossible to keep track of the exact day I wanted. Maybe a way to jump from day to day would be helpful. I’d also like a way to favorite the location I listen to. Thank you. Also, does this not stay active in the background?

Great app, although it is hard to navigate. I do wish there was a feedback option as my local feed in Colorado Springs is down and I don’t my know who to contact so that they can get it fixed. OpenMHz and service is a valuable tool for the community.

Fantastic for listening without a radio, however the inability to save your "favorite" channels or systems requires extra time to find or input exactly what you want to listen to.

This thing could be incredible but there’s a gazillion choices with very difficult to decipher names.
A map of the sources with icons would be super helpful. Tags would also be awesome.
Please let me know if any of those are available so I can bump up my review.

OpenMHz was great! I could listen in to my town’s calls & everything worked great. Until I just opened it a bit ago to listen, and nothing is available. No talkgroups. But it says there are 2 listener’s? Not sure what happened, would’ve gave it 5 stars but it’s not working anymore.

OpenMHz and website are both very helpful, the live feed/audio feed is clearly heard through the playback, and finding past events is easy to find. I would have given it a 5 if there was a way to add frequencies/district numbers for local feeds. I really hope there’s a way to do this in the future! Good job all around though!

trunk-recorder and trunk-server are amazing contributions to the radio community (especially public safety). The website is still much more usable than OpenMHz (even on mobile), but this early version is much appreciated anyway.

If it had the ability to save your settings so that when you open it up you don’t have to select the talk groups every time. Also be able to search for specific talk groups instead of scrolling through hundreds of depts

Add a place where you can mark certain locations under your favorites at the search for them every time

Really great app that truly sets itself apart from all the other scanner apps. Being able to select specific talkgroups or agencies / “groups” (ie “All Fire/EMS”, “CFD Fire”, etc) is super valuable. The archive function is another notable feature — the ability to easily jump back to a certain day/time is awesome.
Those are just a few of the features that make this app ideal for more advanced listeners looking to customize their experience. On the other hand, everything is also very straightforward and easy to use, making it an ideal “plug & play” choice for beginners and advanced scanner enthusiasts alike.
I have used pretty much every scanner app offered on iOS, and to summarize in one sentence; this app is the future and makes all the other scanner apps feel like they are running Windows 95 in 2023.

This is the one you want. They have hard to find channels. Ones even broadcastify doesn’t have.

Excellent application and system. this app is a great tool for first responders. The ability to go back and listen to radio traffic is a nice feature for training and recaps. By the way it's free!
Thank you for all of the hard work and for making this available.

I work in Philadelphia and love listening to this in the background where I work. I used to bring in a Uniden BCD436HP scanner but there are a lot of simulcast issues in the area.
This is actually a lot better than using a scanner because it queues up the calls, so you don’t miss anything.
My only wishlist items would be a way to “favorite” a system so I don’t have to find it each time and CarPlay support.

Super useful. Glad to see that it’s available as a native app now.
It would be nice if you could bookmark some systems so you don’t have to search for them each time.

This scanner app is the best for local p25 phase 1&2 trunking systems. Can search by your state and city and listen in on your local PD/Fire/EMS/etc. You wont be restricted on only the big cities & counties systems like most of the scanner apps are.

I wish it was truly live in real time and not just a recording. I provide two feeds and use it a few times daily to make sure my feeds are good . I just wish it was truely live

Luke, just downloaded and started to play with this on iOS and Ventura/Mac/OS. Thanks for doing this. Had a couple of crashes already, but not to worry.... Do you have a support / funding link? Like to make a contribution to your noble effort.
