Love the new features!

I love that I can see my statements, contact us messages and credit score info! I also noticed I can add a memo to my transfers and view that in my history now-that is awesome! And fast balances-yes please! I can’t wait to find even more new features to enjoy! Great upgrade!

New app is not as user friendly

We have multiple accounts and it is not as easy to navigate CapitolFederal as the old one. I would like to arrange the accounts in the order i prefer rather than w how you choose to list them. Also as I write this review, the words don’t show up on the screen. I am trusting it is typed correct. Also the transfer button isn’t as easily accessible as it was before. Not a fan. have

Poor Roll Out Communication

CapFed rolled out a new app that obsoleted their old one, but left you with a 3 day period with neither functional. No communication this was upcoming and CapitolFederal was not easy to find on CapitolFederal Store. Then who makes up some of their security questions? No new significant features or benefits yet quite a hassle to get this up and running. Feel sorry for their less patient and technical customers.

I love it

I love the new version so much, sometimes I sit and stare at it for 30 minutes in a row. It makes me want to have 27 separate accounts with 27 separate versions of CapitolFederal. #CapFedHasMyHeart

Not liking the new website. It taking steps backwards. It doesn’t appear we can customize our home page at all and I have to enter my password every time on mobile app instead of face recognition. Hoping changes are made soon on the “upgrade”

Nope, you’ll get your account hacked

My mothers entire bank account was hacked as soon as they launched this new app, which is supposedly “more secure.” And by hacked, they allowed someone to take out nearly $17,000 and didn’t even think to call her or maybe put a temporary block on the card.
Take your business far from cap fed.

Not Optimized for IPad

App my be great on an iOS hand held device (i.e. phone) but needs improvement to work well on an iPad as the displays seems to be only optimized for phone … or a secondary app specifically for iOS running on iPad devices developed and made available

A step backward

The new app is much less efficient and streamlined as the past app. There are unnecessary graphics and pictures that slow it down. It’s essentially a link to a website. Disappointing.

Once again, you fail a system upgrade. Locking customers out is unacceptable. Your online abd phone systems all get an F- for this transition. The board of directors needs to suspend all officers now and take action to fire.

While the previous app wasn’t anything special it did what it was supposed to do. CapitolFederal however is impossible to find. I even had to tell a customer service rep how I found it so she could relay it to other customers. It was very hard for me to get into with my username and password that I had to call into customer service. I’m not able to set up a pin or Face ID for this specific app like I had on the previous CapFed app so I’m having to put my password in every time. I do however like the update to show what is pending and what has already ran and the different balances for that. That’s a nice update. Hoping things will get better because this was a pretty rough start.

Not great

This new app is not that great. I like that you can see transaction sooner than you had previously been able to do to processing time meaning that you can see your pending transactions almost immediately. However, I didn’t like not being able to access my accounts or information for several days, so hopefully they never do this again. Additionally, no one seems to know anything about this new app or how it works or even how to do the old functions at the bank. Seems like there should’ve been more training for the staff on that end. As far as CapitolFederal goes it loads entirely too slow even with all the accelerated traffic, CapitolFederal could’ve been built in a way that it wouldn’t have been overwhelmed. Also, I don’t know why they would change things and then take away functions that people need. In this instance, they decided to unhide accounts that I have closed and not give me an option to hide them. Overall, this is the first time in the last few years that I have been completely disappointed with this bank. Their customer service through this transition has sucked and is not service at all. I was basically told at the branch that they couldn’t help me with issues that I was having and questions that I had on my accounts, and basically to leave without being helped.

Horrible for iPad!

As others have already said, CapitolFederal is almost unusable when running on an iPad. Contacted support and they were no help at all and seemingly do not understand or even recognize the problem. Talked with them about hiding accounts (as was available in the old system) and it seems that cannot happen. As far as I’m concerned, this new system is a huge step back in functionality. Since they said they beta tested the new new system before deployment, how in the heck did they miss these big issues! Now support says CapitolFederal isn’t supposed to be used on an iPad. They expect users to just use a tablet web browser and the regular TBO website. Sounds like an excuse, as other apps are built to take advantage of the larger screen. Someone is either lazy, lacking in programming skills, or too cheap to create an app that works well for all platforms.

iPad version?

Works great on the phone, but very hard to read on the iPad. The previous version worked much better on the iPad. For the iPad, I will go back to working online.

iPad App needs work!

The formatting for the iPad app is atrocious. It doesn’t matter whether it is in landscape or portrait, expanded or not, it is very difficult to see and use. The iPhone app is slightly better. I have both, but this is not user friendly on the iPad.
Addendum 2 days later: I deleted the iPad app….simply not user friendly…formatting is awful. I will just go to the website on my iPad if I need to access my accounts. The iPhone app is disappointing . I am trying to like it but it just is not as good as the previous app.

Terrible for iPad

I haven’t seen it on my phone yet, but they need to improve how it displays on the iPad. Very difficult to see/navigate due to it’s glitches with size/orientation. It’s just not easy to get around. I don’t see the advantages. Looking forward to an update already.

This new updated app is awesome. It now has transfer and bill pay options, which I always wished it had and now does. CapitolFederal is a little slow but that’s ok.

Has a vision

CapitolFederal has a good start and many features, but isn’t very intuitive. There are unnecessary photos,that follow you to every page.

To me it’s nice but they could go back and clean up CapitolFederal a bit and consolidate.

This rollout is nothing short of a messing. Locking people out of their accounts with no notice. Login has been almost impossible and takes forever and CapitolFederal itself is slow and really not much of an improvement over the previous product.

Step backwards for user experience

It works, but is far from a delightful experience.

The previous UX felt and behaved like an app, this one feels like I’m trying to view a webpage on my phone. I think this may be pretty close to what is happening, actually. Not a problem in of itself, but the execution is pretty awful.

Navigation interactions are not responsive; tap an icon, it flashes, then a moment later a new view begins loading. (Sometimes a second tap is required). New views are janky when they load because some elements don’t appear immediately, so I’m thrown around the page as they come in. Very frustrating. Some navigation options take me out of CapitolFederal entirely without any indication.

Icons feel old and outdated in My Finances (why are they gifs?). Also, My Finances opens a new page? A popup? Definitely not app-like behavior.

App does not get full on Ipad Pro.

Good morning. I have an apple Ipad-Pro and when opening up, it does not fill the screen. I have to take ipad out of keyboard holder that the long side of it is Horizontal, place on table long side now going away from me to get the picture 75 percent on the screen. Letting is small and hard to see.

Not iPad Friendly

The latest version is not an improvement over the previous one, as applied specifically to iPad usage. The layout is too small for both landscape and portrait orientations. I hope CapFed provides an improved version soon.

All the aggravation some of the functionality

When they say compatible with the iPad you better hope you have a 12inch version or can cast to a 50 inch screen since CapitolFederal reduces the image down to something barely readable. Why developers can’t just leave things well enough alone is beyond me. If it’s not broken why keep messing around with it till you break it?

We Finally Have Transfers!

Definitely a major step forward but needs a couple tweaks.

The Good:

-Can now DO TRANSFERS FROM CapitolFederal !!!

-Bottom menu bar for quick navigation.

-Page will stay loaded after leaving app but not sure how long.

-Perhaps more info given on individual deposit/withdrawals but may just be the new design.

-Still has Face ID

-Option to save login info for faster access but I use Face ID so…

-Supposedly more secure.

The Bad:

-Zero warning new app was coming.

-Horrendous set-up time due to it being a whole new platform.

-Load times are much slower.

-Desperately needs a “back” button on every page, not just a few selected areas.

This is probably 5 stars if they add a back button and optimize the speed. I would float them that 5th star now if launch had been smoother.

Side Note:

Those paid/employee “I Love CapFed More Than Life Itself” reviews are just shameful.

Good and Bad

On an iPhone, the new app isn’t really any better, or worse than the old app. The BAL function, on the new app, is definitely a step back. Now you have to specify which account you want the balance for. You used to be able to get the balance on all accounts with one text.

On an iPad, CapitolFederal is pretty much worthless. It’s about 3 inches wide, and the text is so small, it’s annoying. It not as convenient, but it works better to just log into the web site. On an iPad, the old app was much better, and a lot more useable.

Excelsior!

Not that there were any problems with the older on line banking portal but this one is truly superior. Worth the weekend of transition and the new learning curve.

Cap Fed zMobile app

This mobile app is intuitive, laid out, very logically, and is accessible to those with blindness and low vision who utilize assistive technology. Nothing was lost when the website and mobile app were rebuilt. I am just waiting for Zelle, which will make the CapFed online banking experience complete.

Issue with logging-in

CapitolFederal works great when you can log in. No issues there. However, most of the time it won’t let me log in due to an error and it takes forever for someone to fix it. It’s a little frustrating if you need to transfer money or see your finances. Please fix this.
