I had QuickBooks self-employment. My phone updated one night SelfEmployed changed the self-employment accounting and all the data that I had input for the entire year disappeared overnight. I tried to download SelfEmployed again and none of my transactions were there and now SelfEmployed is more difficult to maneuver. I tried to sign up for a different QuickBooks and when it downloaded my transactions, it would only go back three months and now I’m here in January 2025 having to go through all of my transactions for 2024 and put all of my information back in. Definitely giving you a one star and as soon as I get my information back in, I’ll be canceling my subscription and going with a different company. You’re extremely hard to get in touch with. I can’t get anyone to answer my calls or emails.

It looks great but keeps getting hung up and stuck and I have to close it down and reopen, same problem. I also keep getting a message saying “over quota limit” no idea why. This is a brand new 256 iPad 13 pro. It tracked zero of my miles today, although I drove about a hundred miles. I had given it all the permissions. Just doesn’t work. Wish it had, it looks like it would have been really helpful.

This mileage tracking is much less efficient than the QuickBooks self-employed app that I used to have and can no longer get. Also, I’ve asked repeatedly for help to link my bank account so I could just use one app and have not gotten it. Additionally, I’m only doing this review because it won’t let you choose to not review. You either have to close out of it every time or do the review so here you go . I’m not impressed.

Your receipt scanner doesn’t work. It’ll take the picture and auto crop, but it doesn’t actually scan and fill out the info from the receipt. Also, when typing in the amount purchased on the receipt, there’s no option for a decimal point, so I have to input 847 instead of 8.47.

Although SelfEmployed is user-friendly and easy to use, it needs to be updated with some different features. Please change it so that we can put decimal points when adding expenses and income. You can only add decimals if you edit the transaction after posting it. Changing the date of the transaction also seem to not work. You have to delete the transaction and start all over. Which is a pain. Also, sometimes receipts are digital because we buy things online, please add a feature where we can just upload the receipt instead of taking a picture of it. Forcing you make a review every time you do a transaction is also very annoying…

There is no way to attach a photo receipt if the receipt was sent through email. There is only a way to scan your receipt to save a receipt. When adding a transaction, it does not allow you to add cents because there is no button to add a decimal. The only way to do it is after you save your transaction, you would need to edit the transaction and in that you will find a .00 at the end of your amount. SelfEmployed can sometimes be slow too. I love how its user - friendly, large buttons, big and bold words are great.

This tracker used to be my go to for filing my business taxes. However, it abruptly stopped and I’m having to scramble to get another tracker. Also to top it off I’m still paying my monthly fee for quick books, what a disappointment.

Honestly, wouldn’t leave a review if it didn’t keep bugging me to leave one. I’ve encountered some minor bugs occasionally, and the functionality feels purposely limited to push you towards higher-end products, but the bare functionality is enough for the price and my level of expense/income tracking.

So far it seems good! Just a glitch that pops up as a notification everytime I switch screens that says quota exceeded? Not sure what that is about since I’m new to SelfEmployed .

Seems easy enough. Had to sign up online first - off they don’t offer that directly in SelfEmployed but that’s okay.

The things that you can do with SelfEmployed are incredible. Very simple, yet very effective for the self employed person. I recommend SelfEmployed to everyone.

Great tool and resource for those starting out or even well established small businesses. Tracks miles, track expenses, create receipts, and it’s so helpful.

Very easy to understand. You can track everything from how much you get paid to what service you provided and the mileage you drive

I love how easy it was to use and all the options they have to properly track your expenses for whatever 1099 job you work

Excellent app not challenging and has the essentials to start keeping track of your basic to most complicated financing for a non-accountant.

First time to use self employed tracking for my income and expenses. I don’t have a hard time to use it. This very good to keep all the receipts and income in one place and can check where ever I go using my phone. 👏👏👏

I find it easy to use and the price is good. It’s less overwhelming than the QuickBooks because it doesn’t put all your bank info in. At first I didn’t like it, but now I prefer doing to manually.

So simple and easy to use. Thank you for such a great tool to keep track of everything. Makes it super simple to track expenses and income for small business and not commonly stated but also for families when managing their home. It’s so good. thank you!

It won’t stop bugging me to write a review, however it is easy and simple for a small business such as me.
