So far I like it… but there’s 2 major things

I like the programs so far, but there’s a couple of things I noticed right away that I wished were different. First, I’d like to be able to exit the workout and look at the workout overview to remind myself of what workouts I’ll be doing later. Right now you have to end your workout to leave and I don’t want to end it, just pause so I can review. Second, I’d like the option to substitute workouts if certain equipment isn’t available. I know you have that option but when you click on equipment unavailable it makes you take that piece of equipment off of your list of available equipment which will change all your workouts throughout Grounds , not just that single day when that piece of equipment wasn’t available. I don’t want to say I never have access to an incline bench because sometimes I do, just not that day. This is a pretty major thing I like to be able to do in my workout programs- thus me taking 2 stars away. I don’t want to limit all of my workouts just because I didn’t have something that single day. Another thing I don’t like is how I don’t have the option to log my workouts if I do something independently instead of one of their programs. Like if I decided to run for 15 minutes then stretch there’s no option to record that I did that.

Good but could be better

The day I saw the announcement of Grounds releasing, I literally told someone earlier that day that I wish I had one app to track all my things. I was using a fitness app for workouts, a app to track my macros, one for water, one for my steps, and another for my menstrual cycle. So to say the least, I was excited for this. Not to mention I’m a big fan of all the trainers and wanted to show them support.

With that being said, there are some things I would change with Grounds. First, I wish the timers would continue counting down when I lock my phone or need to do something else like respond to a text. Second, I wish I could edit the food I log. For example, I put 4oz of chicken but only end up eating 3oz. I can’t edit the serving but instead have to delete the log and out on a new one. As someone who enters macros the night before for breakfast and lunch, this is a little annoying. Lastly, I wish I could see a bigger breakdown of my macros because I like to keep an eye on fiber intake and saturated fats.

I know this is a brand new launch so there will probably be some updates but I wanted to give my feedback early on. All in all, Grounds is a step in the right direction!

New & Amazing

Absolutely love Grounds so far. I recently discovered Heidi on IG and was intrigued when I saw she was releasing a workout app. I have been wanting to get back into working out (I’m a 30f)and the fact that Grounds will help me with workouts + nutrition + community and implementing healthy habits. I had a slight issue getting signed in & support replied within half an hour! It truly is an all-in-one app special to women. I love the feature to be able to scan in the barcode from my snacks. Makes it so easy. I am so excited to witness the launch and cannot wait to see where Grounds goes. I am looking forward to having my best body. Women supporting women.<3 Thank you, Heidi & team!!!

Disappointing

I’m really bummed about Grounds. I really wanted it to be the one stop shop for my fitness needs like it was advertised but it just isn’t. My Fitbit app does everything here better except for the social aspect. I’m also frustrated that there wasn’t a free trial option. I’m sure Grounds will improve with feedback and future updates but in its current state it feels half baked and like a beta that didn’t get enough user testing.

Since I’m unable to get a refund I’ll try and make the best of it for the year and hope some updates over time improve the experience but this just isn’t doing it for me and now I feel stuck. None of the features totally meet my needs within just Grounds.

To not be wholly negative though, I think that the layout and UI is all clean and intuitive and the social aspect is really awesome. I was hoping to make some accountability buddys and I see the potential for that here.

GROUNDS has CHANGED THE GAME!!!

I LOVE 🤎the this app Fitness App!! Utilizing all the features has been so easy; the period tracker is so easy to use and even educates you on the phases of your cycle. The macro tracker is 🔥! And being able to scan my food without an additional cost is AMAZING!! But my favorite feature is the water tracker, I’ve been able to hit my water goal with ease day to day. And don’t get me started on the programs! I’ve loved every day of Bailey’s Juicy challenge 🍑 and even tried a couple of the on-demand workouts!! this app App is all the girlies need to succeed on their health and wellness journeys!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love it!

I love Grounds so far! The most stressful part of my gym routine is figuring out what I want to do each day, and this allows me to “turn my brain off” during my workout. Plus they have so many workouts to choose from, which comes in handy when i travel and have minimal gym equipment available!! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish there was a warm-up/ cool-down/stretching portion to the workouts or just in general (I might just not know where to find it tho). Also the workout pauses anytime you leave Grounds , which can be a little annoying. Overall though, I love it so far and highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

By

Loving Grounds App!

I am loving Grounds! The thought and planning that went into this to deliver an app that takes into consideration the many things needed for a gym or home workout or a hybrid. That plus bringing into one place workouts as a program or on demand, meal tracking and other functions we would use separate apps for....love this!

I look forward to the continued growth of Grounds, this company and this women focused safe space! Fantastic job Heidi and all of the trainers and designers...the entire team who delivered this app to us and for use.

By

Obsessed

I’m thoroughly impressed. It offers a wide range of workouts, from mindfulness to high-intensity interval training, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate, and the instructional videos are clear and informative. The progress tracking feature keeps me motivated, and the community support is fantastic. I’ve already seen improvements in my fitness level, and I can’t wait to continue my journey with Grounds!

By

Great app!

Easy to use, lots of features for tracking. Very detailed workouts - shows proper form with explanations for beginners. Several substitutions available if equipment is not available. The workouts are on par with the difficulty level that my trainer provided when we worked together. Definitely worth the cost and much cheaper than a trainer if you’re new to fitness or just looking for general weight loss, maintenance, or strength building.

By

Sculpt workout

I finished day one of sculpt program. I enjoyed it, it was just the right amount of time to where I could carry-on and get to work on time. However, I would I was a little lost on whether I should switch legs during each rep time between rest periods, or do only one leg at that time. Rest and then switch to the other leg. I also ended up pausing the stretches to switch to each leg not knowing that we would do them all over again for the opposite leg. Some info on leg switching could be helpful.

The fitness app of all fitness apps

Grounds has it all! Truly! I’ve always wanted something that had videos showing me how to complete workouts- Grounds has it AND explanations attached. It also gives you the options to customize the workouts in case one is too hard or you don’t have the equipment needed. It’s your one stop shop for everything you could want in a fitness app. I cannot recommend it enough!

By

So far better than any app I’ve used before!

Honestly I’ve payed for a couple different work out programs before and they have always been hour long work outs. I just can’t do that anymore I love that it has so many options for work outs that don’t take up so much time in a day. As a mom it’s something I’ve been looking for in a program and I’m so happy to have found one finally!

By

Everything is here!

I love Grounds! It has everything I need to track my progress and other heath data! I can delete all the other apps and simplify in this app! I love how easy it is to navigate. The layout is very well thought out. The workout options for equipment and if you workout from home or the gym is amazing! This is Grounds I have been waiting for!!

By

Love it!!!

It’s amazing! Best fitness app. Combination of workout plans and challenges, period tracker, macro calculator (that actually tells me to eat enough?!?!!!!), food diary/log, water tracker, plus a community page where you can share. Amazing.
The ONLY thing I would change about it is I really wish it would run in the “background”…like if my phone locks or I’m answering a text, etc. it pauses the workout/rest time. Other than that, 10/10. Seriously.

By

If you’re thinking about buying this app, do it!

I can’t say enough about Grounds! It’s like having a personal trainer, a nutritionist, and all your best friends in your pocket. Super easy to use super easy to adjust and make it tailored to you. I love that I got to delete about six other apps from my phone, everything you need healthwise is in the this app app!

By

All the love for buff bunny

I feel like I’m working out with a trainer! I have worked out in the gym for years and felt like I was loosing my spark and this feels like a new challenge. Something to help hold me accountable. I recommend for anyone who is just rating on their fitness journey or has been going to the gym for years. It’s perfect for anyone and everyone in their fitness journey.

By

Something for everyone

Grounds is clean, easy to navigate and has something for everyone. Whether you want a structured program or to mix up your current routine there is a pathway for that!
Grounds allows you to track the WHOLE HEALTH picture. From nutrition to rest to sweat and recovery, mental and physical tracking options. One stop shop.

By

So far it’s GROUND breaking!

I have downloaded many fitness apps before and they are just ehhh. This one so far is fantastic, it’s made for women and it helps with everything we could need! It’s also very easy to use/navigate, with a clean simple esthetic! I love it and am excited to keep using it!

By

Great, BUT

I would recommend a voice over during the home based workouts at least. Someone announcing the name of the next workout coming or the option of syncing your music through Grounds .

During rest period, the seconds pause if you close out of Grounds to go to your music app. Would be nice if seconds continued going..

By

OBSESSED. IMPRESSED. ELITE.

Grounds is extremely user friendly and has everything a woman is looking for to conquer her wellness goals each day! From the period tracker, macro counter, and all challenges it is truly ELITE! I’m extremely impressed by the this app team! Creating an app that functions this flawlessly is not an easy thing to do! THANK YOU!

Not perfect but still Awesome App

Not perfect but still Awesome App. I know they are listening to feedback and improving Grounds so I will continue to use it.
My suggestions for improvement:
- Let user exit Grounds without pausing the workout.
- Let user swap a move while in the workout and not just before.
- Let user mark days on the calendar as Rest Days or Active Rest Days (include some active rest day activity ideas for the true newbies).

By

An awesome app, but could use improvements

Updating my review to include more suggestions - Grounds could use improvements, but this is a brand new app and is being updated very often! Very user friendly. I wish i wasn’t stuck on the workout screen and could go back to the summary to see what I have left. I also wish we could swap during the workout instead of only being able to before you start the workout. Sometimes the equipment is not available so I have to skip back and forth through workouts so being able to reorder exercises would be awesome. I wish there wasn’t a timer on the actual workout, I often take longer than allowed so I have to press back all the time. This also is an issue with the last exercise as it will automatically end your workout even if you aren’t finished, they should put in an option where it asks you to end the workout or to continue. We should be able to edit the weight used during sets, I accidentally typed the wrong weight used and was unable to edit or delete the last entry. Also, what is the point of tracking weight history if we don’t have the option to go back and look at our progress without having to start a workout?? There should be somewhere we can see the entire weight history for each workout. Overall I really enjoy Grounds and can’t wait to see what is to come!

Truly the ALL IN ONE app 🙌🏻

I’ve tried numerous fitness apps over the years, but this app truly stands out! As a part of the exclusive women’s fitness community, I feel genuinely motivated every day. Grounds offers a vast array of challenging yet attainable workout programs that cater to my ever-evolving fitness goals. Whether you’re training at home or the gym, there’s something for everyone. What I adore the most is the holistic approach this app adopts, ensuring a seamless blend of strength, conditioning, and even low-impact training.

The detailed exercise descriptions, coupled with video demonstrations, are a game-changer, especially for beginners. And the integration with Apple Health? Perfect for keeping all my health stats in one place. Connecting with like-minded women globally, sharing achievements, and drawing inspiration from certified trainers like Heidi and Bailey has transformed my fitness journey. Highly recommended for those who seek a well-rounded fitness experience!

By

Amazing!

This might actually be my new favorite fitness app. I love that I can listen to my own music while working out (some apps won’t let you). I love that I can track my cycle in Grounds & it tracks what phase I am in. I love that I can track my food without being forced to be on a meal plan. I love love LOVE that I can switch exercises if I don’t have equipment needed or if something is too difficult for me still. This is an all around amazing app. Only thing I wish is that it would automatically track on my Apple Watch. But it’s not a big deal that it doesn’t, I’ll just have to record it separately before I start. 😁

A few critiques

Overall for the first launch Grounds is not bad. I'm not new to weightlifting so I can say that the programs do seem to be well organized and it is quite user-friendly. I do wish they had incorporated warm ups in the workouts for beginners, I can imagine someone new to this attempting to get through some of the more advanced workouts and not getting the full benefit or being set up for optimal success.

I also question how they calculated the estimated calories burned for their workouts. I understand fitness watches aren't always the most accurate at measuring this, but I don't burn even half of what they project on the workouts. I don't like it's likely many people are going to burn 400 calories on a 45 minute moderate upper body day.

By

Not worth it

I paid for the introductory rate only to realize Grounds is like a peloton app that did not allow you to enter your personal workouts or create plans for yourself amongst other things. I reached out within minutes of purchases after realizing this doesn’t encompass anything I need in a fitness app, bad UI/UX experience and they told me they don’t give refunds even though I had cancelled and deleted my membership already. I’m out $70+ and will have to dispute with my bank. This is poor business practices that they’re stating they can’t refund due to their terms and conditions…even when I reached out within minutes after purchase. Unfair and don’t support this. I wouldn’t expect this from a company Heidi created. It’s not like I messaged you after hours or days or weeks after having Grounds , it was minutes.

Awesome all-in-one fitness app

The this app app provides a great variety of workouts to follow along with for any fitness level, at home or at the gym.
Trainers show via videos how to do every exercise. Multiple trainers to choose from. Written descriptions are included for each exercise also, and a timer to count for you…there are no excuses to be found now!
AND Grounds allows you to scan barcodes on foods to track calories, has adjustable macros (protein, fats, carbs), water tracking, period tracking…like I said - an awesome all-in-one fitness app!!
Great job on Grounds!!

Kara’s ForeverFIT

Not only has Grounds been everything I’ve been looking for AND more. I have been excited to see some new splits that have gotten me out of my comfort zone. I am 21 and have been doing weightlifting since my senior year of high school now a senior in college and I haven’t had a challenge bring my back to my weightlifting days until this. Kara is an excellent trainer and I cannot wait to see what else she will throw my way. KEEP HER!!

In regards to Grounds , it predicted my period perfectly. Better than my period app and better then my period/birth control app. I stopped using both apps and now solely use this app.

The community is great, especially if you like the style of discord. I would like an option to direct message I think that could build a stronger sense of community but overall I’m
nowhere complaining.

If you’re hesitant, make the purchase. It’s worth it.

Love it so far!

I’ve had a personal online coach for a year and that contract just ended so I needed a program to follow and so glad I chose this app! Love it so far! A little glitchy. I wish you could do .5 with weights (like 22.5, 27.5 etc). Also my keyboard keeps getting stuck in position during the workout which is very frustrating because I have to close out of Grounds and restart my entire workout to get it to go away. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars! I do love cycle tracking too!

By

Intuitive App, Excellent Workouts

If you’re looking for a lifting app that doesn’t make you feel like you have to Parkour for a warm up but still actually works you out, this is it. The workout format is great and the exercises themselves make you feel stronger (and not just confused and sweaty). The water, food, and cycle trackers are also fabulous. It’s nice to have all the information right there on Grounds ’s home page.

By

LOVE!

Okay, so Grounds is ALL encompassing. And I love love love Heidi and her message to women. She really did put so much thought into Grounds. That being said I would love to see certain things in some of the update pushes. First, I’d love the option of built in warm ups and stretches in the workouts. Just some body weight moves to start and a few stretches to end. It could be optional, skip it if you want. Next, I would loveeeeee workout suggestions based on where I am in my cycle. Having a cycle tracker in a workout app is HUGE. But incorporating workout suggestions based on the tracker would be life changing. Like hey, you started your period, here are some workouts that your body would love right now, like some yoga or gentle workouts. My last thing is to turn off the timer on workouts? Idk if I’m missing something here, but workouts that say 12 reps each side and then randomly just goes to my rest period without me hitting that I’m done. Unless it’s a timed exercise it shouldn’t do that. Like I said idk if I’m missing a setting there or something.
Grounds is such a game changer for the industry and so empowering for women. I will love to see how it evolves with all the updates coming through and the input from all the women using it.

Love this app!!

If you are a girl that wants to do weightlifting and doesn’t know where to start, I highly recommend Grounds! As a girl that used to always run to the cardio section in the gym and spend hours on the arc trainer and treadmill Grounds has completely changed up my fitness routine. I am 24 and have had a gym membership since 16 but until having Grounds as a guide I rarely touched weights. I loved the gym but weights were always so intimidating to me because I didn’t know where to begin. Didn’t want to look silly or do a workout wrong in front of others…etc. Feeling so much more confident in the gym now thanks to Heidi and the girls creating these workouts, showing step by step guides. Love the period tracker and macro tracker as well! Great job creating Grounds and thank you so much this app team for putting Grounds out there for all the fitness girlies. <3

Amazing App!

I’ve had other workout plan apps before but I love that there’s a community within Grounds . It makes me feel like if I can’t stay accountable to myself, that I need to stay accountable to my community. I love seeing what everyone else is up to as well and see their progress. I’ve lost 6lbs already in 3 weeks and it wasn’t all working out because I have 2 babies that keep me busy and I just had to have emergency surgery, so I can’t workout at the moment, but Grounds offers a way to keep you accountable with water intake and I feel like I need to stay accountable with my eating habits as well because there’s a feature to log in your food. Also seeing all the other wonderful women in Grounds and how positive they are and excited to workout makes me excited to get back at it when I’m fully recovered. Love love love Grounds!!

By

Incredible App!

Grounds is absolutely incredible. I used to be incredibly into weight lifting but really fell off the wagon over the last few years and got to the point where I had no idea where to even start or what to do. this app gave me the framework and flexibility I desperately needed to finally start again and feel confident. I’m so thankful. I have some equipment at home, but also a gym membership. I love the flexibility of being able to swap out exercises based on where I’m working out that day. There are a few small things I’d love to see improved or added but honestly in the short time that it’s been out, there have been SO many updates so I know it will continue to get better and better over time!

By

Hands down best app EVER.

Grounds has completely transformed my fitness journey. I hate going into the gym and working out alone, I feel so lost the moment I step into the gym, since using Grounds it has completely changed all that. Grounds is incredibly user-friendly, offering a wide range of workouts and personalized training plans depending on your goals. I love all the challenges options that are available. I love how there is video demonstrations on form since it’s super important to have good form. What sets Grounds apart is its comprehensive tracking and analytics, allowing me to monitor my progress and set new goals. Also, a period tracker?! Come on! I can't recommend this fitness app enough – it's a game-changer!

Grounds has brought a whole new level of fitness

I have been working out for the last 7 years & my fitness journey has helped me grow so much not just physically but mentally. But since joining this app just in 3 weeks I have noticed how much it has pushed me to achieve so much more than I ever thought I could. I’ve built up so much strength & feel so much more confident within each workout. It has pushed me to a whole new level! I’m so thankful to be on this journey and I absolutely love Grounds. It holds me accountable and pushes me to grow each and every day when I’m in the gym. 🤍 cannot say enough how wonderful Grounds is!

By

Accountability in your pocket!!!

I absolutely love Grounds for so many reasons but my favorite is that it holds me accountable for my fitness / health goals all in one location. I love the menstrual cycle feature and I love the community feature! Thanks to the this app app I’m also hitting my daily water intake and have a better workout flow rather than just doing whatever without a plan. I love that it gives workouts for home and in the gym along with the vast variety of workouts it features on all levels and types! You can see how much love was put in Grounds for us!!! Thank you!!!

By

Hands down the best

Hands down one of the best apps for fitness I have ever used. I have been working out for years and just maintained where I have been. Thinking to myself let’s give Grounds a try and just see but I’m sure I’m to advanced for it. Needless to say…. I’m sore literally every other day or even every day till my recovery days. I have seen more progress in the 3 weeks I have been using it than I have in 3 months! Hands down one of the best. Also gives you many different ways to workout plus from ANYWHERE. How awesome is that. The food tacking is on point, water in take, period tracker. I can keep going. A must try for sure for everyone!

By

Good start, but please change a few things.

I’ve used quite a few fitness apps the last few years and I love that this has so many things incorporated into one space, but there are a couple of things that I think need to be addressed. I don’t think the sets need to be timed. Everyone completes sets at their own pace and I found my rest time starting before I had even completed the set on several occasions. I don’t want to have to leave Grounds every time to pause as the pause for the set doesn’t seem to last that long.
I also think it would be helpful to be able to change what exercise is up next on the fly. Sometimes the equipment that I need for a certain exercise isn’t available and it would be nice to move on to something else and then circle back around to the other one when the equipment becomes available.
Lastly, the reps count needs the ability to be altered. I like to know how many reps I completed at a certain weight and there doesn’t seem to be a way to change that.

By

Great for beginners

I was super excited about Grounds but after the first week I can say Grounds is wonderful, for beginners in the gym. It’s very structured and not much customization as I was hoping to. Grounds stresses me out at the gym and would really like to see update addressing the following things asap.
Being able to search workouts rather than have to scroll through all of them

Going back to main exercise list incase equipment isn’t available and switch if needed.

Make timer and rest timer optional

Create my own workout plan!!!! I love all the plans but I am so limited on how much I can customize my workout.

Some workouts you can’t add decimals. I used 22.5 and couldn’t log my .5

Weight history from ALL previous workouts, how am I to progressive overload if I can’t see what I lifted last?

Adding stuff for cardio days! There’s no way to track my off workouts on Grounds .

Macros and period tracking are great but Do macros increase or decrease depending on my tracked weigh?

Water goal resets everyday, should be constant.

Editing portions of meals rather then delete and reads

How to change calorie suggestion goal

Grounds has so much potential but it still needs a lot of work.

By

Was hoping it would stand out from other workout apps

To be honest I’m not super thrilled with Grounds . I was very excited to try it out but there was no option for a trial run even, so I forked out the $$ for it.
I wish that you could see each exercise from the side as well and not just the 45° angle. I also don’t really love the period tracking because it wouldn’t log things correctly for me (messed up timelines and wouldn’t let me add previous data—as someone who was tracking it with apple health before).
I also wish I could add in multiple weights (EX: started with 10 lbs then 15 and then 10 lbs again)
Overall I know Grounds is just starting out but I regret how much $$ I spent on this just to not like it 😩

By

Overall a phenomenal app

I am very experienced with fitness and have - on my own - gone from 235 lbs to 155lbs. Grounds was more just a fun switch of pace for me from my normal gym routine. That being said, I am EXTREMELY impressed with Grounds and all that it offers. I think anyone from beginner to extremely advanced can enjoy Grounds, whether its just learning the basic exercises or having a massive variety of options to integrate into your current fitness routine. There is little I would do to improve it as it has most of the features one would want: the only thing I really would like changed is the ability to input your own micro and macro nutrient trackers. I would really like to track my sugar intake specifically but carbs, protein, and fats are the only options for specific macros to track.

Unhappy…

They charged me a full month when I signed up for Grounds , almost 2 weeks before Grounds even went live. That kind of bugged me that I was being charged full price for half a month, but I enjoyed the workouts and was excited for the challenges. Although it was difficult not being able to leave the workout to see what exercises were coming up next. You’d have to quit the workout and then restart the whole thing- it wouldn’t take you back to where you were. Finally cancelled my subscription a couple weeks before the month’s renewal and of course…I can’t use my account any longer though I already paid for the rest of the whole month. At least let people finish using the months they paid for in full! My advice would be to cancel just before the renewal so they don’t kick you out early and you can get your moneys worth.

Wanted to love ..

I think Grounds has great potential but has been overall disappointing. I absolutely love the buffbunny community and all the amazing women involved, so I was super excited for Grounds. But the macro tracking is weak, doesn’t come anywhere near my fitness pal. Not being able to exit your workout during or switch around any exercises or modify it in the least bit is not ideal at all or personable to users. And I know this is brand new, so I’m trying to grant grace, but my biggest issue is the fact that there are so many glitches that I don’t even bother opening Grounds half the time because it’s never correct. I’m constantly reaching out to the support email for fixes, and just overall makes Grounds unappealing to me. Hoping with time it gets better! But don’t see myself renewing this subscription.

Pleasantly surprised!!

I was actively working out 6 days a week on top of an already active lifestyle (hiking/biking/etc). We moved remotely for the winter and I needed an option for home workouts as I am limited on days I can spend in the gym. I was skeptical on how Grounds would work and if it would be challenging enough. I am on week 2 of the burn challenge and I am surprised at how sore I am from week 1! I also enjoy the period tracking and reminding me that it is normal to have low energy during certain “phases.” I also really love the detailed descriptions to perfect form as this is often an area people struggle in. Nice work ladies! Loving Grounds 🧡💛

By

Love it!

Overall, I am so happy with Grounds. I always struggled with consistent routines & this has been so helpful in providing me the actual exercise, how long/often to do them, and changes weekly!

Some things I hope to see changed/updated in the future:

1. The volume of my music lowers when watching a preview of the exercise or when starting the actual workout. I usually have to skip ahead to the rest & then go back for the volume to go back to normal.

2. I love that we have the ability to change out the exercises before starting the workout but it would be AMAZING to be able to do this DURING the workout. Sometimes I’m at a busy gym & can’t do a specific exercise because the machine is broken or I don’t have access to it.

3. Following up on the previous point, I would love it if we could see an “overview” of the full workout plan WHILE in the workout mode. As mentioned previously, certain machines might not be available at the time I’m “supposed” to do the exercise but I don’t know what exercises come after. Having this ability would help that way I can fill that time & then go back to that one specific exercise when I can.

Hopefully this all makes sense! If these were to update, I would be even happier with Grounds !

Okay for starters

I was very excited to try Grounds since I have always been inspired by Heidi when it comes to fitness. I do have two complaints though. I have noticed that I often have to add in food items such as anything with Oscar Meyer or Nestle coffee creamer, etc. Also a lot of the time the micros aren’t accurate and can be off by a good couple grams. I find this frustrating as other apps I’ve used have always been pretty spot on. The other thing is I wish there was a spot to document your own workout. I’m not always going to want to do a workout video with the trainers. I would love if I could just document that I weight lifted shoulders, bicep, etc for 30 minutes. I believe that this is a good app for brand new beginners who need help getting going, but for those who’ve been using other apps this might be not what you’re used to.

Pretty Good

Grounds has a ton to offer, and I so appreciate the time and effort that has gone into making this beast! There are a couple of improvements I’d like to see. The cycle tracking is great, except that it doesn’t actually let you track your cycle if you’re irregular. It will not let you update that you haven’t started your period, and for us PCOS people, that makes it really difficult. If I forget to log my first actual day, whenever that happens, then Grounds data will just confuse me. Also, please add the ability to add bowel movement info. I know it shows constipation and diarrhea, but just having the option of “pooped” would be awesome.

I’d also love to see other types of workouts (yoga, walking, etc.), and I imagine those are definitely coming in the future! Echoing another reviewer, having warm ups and cool downs would also be game changing.

Regarding nutrition, I’d love to see that built out to show additional nutrition info like sugar and fiber and also be able to see breakdowns of each meal and how they contributed to your overall day.

Grounds is such an incredible start, and I know it’s only going to get better from here!

3 Stars but Potential for 5!

workouts should not be on autotimer
option to view workout overview/summary after starting
not a lot of challenge options yet especially for “at home” each trainer only has 1
programs should auto populate or auto swap workouts based on my selected equipment.
for example: one challenge requires a long band so instead of forcing me to permanently swap out by exercise, should auto do it by equipment
Reps and weight at top of screen instead of small at the bottom
would be nice if each exercise description include which main and secondary muscles it works
ability to add meals once already selected
would be nice to structure it like myfitness pal since the idea is to replace it
if cant auto pop workouts/challenges by equipment add alternates in description: for example plate exercise sub
timed exercises need to have a 3-5 second pre start timer to allow you to get set.
should be able to adjust number of sets
be able to filter On Demand programs by “At home”. Even if u select minimal equipment that will still bring up gym equipment
All upper body days should include core
overall it’s a good app with great potential. In all honesty if they would add all the features FitBod and MyFitnessPal utilize, it would be the perfect app. At this time, I do not feel I am getting more value by leaving FitBod app however, I trust Heidi’s dedication to this app and I will try it again in 6 months to see the updates.

No customer service & not good workouts!!!

I would like to say that this is the middle of February and I have been trying to get in touch with the customer service department since the third day in January. I have tried emailing I have tried so many different ways to reach out to get help and I have not heard anything back. Keep in mind that we are now going on the eighth time I have tried to get in touch with them. also, when I was able to successfully get in for a whopping one hour to look at Grounds , I was severely disappointed, because not only is there only one home workout… But the workout is not one that comes with modifications, nor abilities to get in contact with anybody if you have any questions. The way that Grounds what came out of the gate was that it was going to be such an inclusive and helpful one and it has not lived up to that at all . But most of all… You cannot get in touch with anybody at this freaking organization. Do not waste your time. Now all I have to do is figure out how to cancel that and of course… Still can’t get any customer service.

Disappointing

I went all in and pre ordered Grounds mainly because of all the incredible women involved in the making of Grounds. I also was prepared to pay the price for Grounds because it’s a one stop shop for everything you need.
My problem with Grounds is the unfortunate difficulty using Grounds . Mainly the period tracker being an issue. Navigating the workouts can be frustrating especially if you have a home gym.
Now as of lately there was an update that completely cleared all data that had been saved. As someone who relies on the cycle tracker to ensure I don’t get pregnant and know when my period is, I’m incredibly frustrated and disappointed that all my info is gone.
I will try to continue to utilize the rest of the one year subscription that I already paid for. Hopefully they won’t clear all the data again.

Good idea but a lot of work

I love this idea having an all-in-one app, however Grounds needs a lot of improvements before it’s work paying $20/mo or a yearly subscription. There isn’t an Apple Watch app or any type of heart rate tracking feature. A generalized count of calories burned doesn’t work because everyone is different, even if we all weigh the same. Personally, I have a lower resting heart rate so it takes more to increase my HR and burn more calories. Also, there is no ability to move around exercises if something isn’t available. You can’t make adjustments (dumbbell RDL instead of barbell RDL) or look at the home page of the workout. This seems more like a push to get an app out vs making an app worth the money. There are many other features missing that other fitness apps have. I wanted to love Grounds I will be unsubscribing.

Wonderful app!

Last year I spent probably at least $1800 throughout the year on personal training/gym programs, and it was just not sustainable financially or wasn’t really helpful in the way I needed. I purchased this app when it first launched and then in January I started using it more religiously, and I gotta say, it’s been a game changer for me. It’s a fraction of the cost of what I spent last year, and it does all the thinking for me as far as workouts is concerned. I pick a program or an on-demand workout and just follow the prompts. I recently started tracking my diet as well on there to make sure I can see results. Make no mistake - you will still be in the driver’s seat of your results, you still have to show up, but once you show up, you just press “start” and follow the program. They’re consistently updating and adding new things. 10/10 do recommend

Love it…But there are some things…

Love Grounds and that there are so many different workouts to choose from! My reason to take one star off is when I pause the workout to get to another site temporarily, it doesn’t let me resume the workout to where I was, instead it restarts the whole app and I have to go searching through and swipe through exercises to get to where I was at in the workout. Also I would love to change the reps to show where I failed on the workout. Lastly, it would be nice to make notes during the workout and to change out the exercises during the workout should the original exercise become difficult to do. It’s minor things that would make Grounds go a long way. But overall, great material!
