Could not connect

We’ve used our ScanSnap ix500 for years connected wirelessly on our home network to my MacBook Pro laptop and an iPad. Unfortunately, the ScanSnap Home App could not find our ix500 on our home network using my iPhone 13 Pro Max (with latest iOS updates). ScanSnapHome is too poorly constructed to resolve whatever conflict is causing the problem.

No Connectiin

I had one brief connection then nothing after multiples attempts to search for my scanner. SnapScan Home says the scanner is connected by Wi-Fi but my phone and iPad will not connect. I have to say this reminds me of life back when networking issues could eat up days of your life. I lost one more today. If you’re buying this brand of scanner due to mobile connectivity features, you may be sorely disappointed. I am running this scanner in a tech heavy graphics studio. We have no other connectivity problems and we’re running a lot of software. Please keep your beta ware on the shelf until it’s ready.

Password system totally screwed up

I’m desperately trying to set up an account. I reset the password six times. This is an awful awful experience.

Too complicated, no landscape

IF YOU HAVE AN IX100 don’t use this!!!!! If you are traveling and try to connect through hotel WiFi, the Ix100 will lock onto the hotel WiFi but your iPad cannot see the scansnap. And there is no way to reset the scansnap to direct connect mode until you leave that wifi environment. I am hoping I will be able to reset it at my next stop otherwise I have a brick!

And, no landscape mode? Very stupid!

In short, don’t download this. Stay with the old app as long as you can!

Unable to connect to ix500

I have been using legacy ScanSnap but it now locks up when you sync to OneDrive. So I tried this version. It doesn’t connect to the ix500 at all.

Expensify Connection Broken

Just says “missing connection” when attempting to do from iOS smartphone or Mac. Unclear who or how to contact support. Virtual agent just said “sorry.”

Nearly Useless in Portrait Mode

The old ScanSnap app allowed for landscape mode - which is the ONLY orientation I use with my iPad Pro. It’s the only orientation with which I can use the physical Apple keyboard.

What a terrible experience ScanSnapHome provides because of this. Landscape mode should ALWAYS be supported.

Unable to manually specify IP

The desktop app requires me to manually input the scanner’s IP. The mobile app has nowhere to input this, so it doesn’t work for me.

iPad please...LANDSCAPE MODE

Please allow ScanSnapHome to be used in LANDSCAPE MODE. Thanks.

The response was simply, it doesn't work in Landscape mode....well, your older version did and for many of us who use the ipad as a mini laptop w/ Logitech keyboard.....it's super useful.

This App is Really Really Close

I’ve been using ScanSnap products for more than 10 years and they have always be the best out there, but always also missing something for my use cases. This is no different.

The utility of being able to scan something without needing to have the computer awake and ready to receive it is awesome. The utility of being able to push documents directly to the cloud is awesome.

The challenge has always been with what those documents get named. Pushing the GoogleDrive or Dropbox button on the printer is awesome, but the file just gets a generic name and date. But by leveraging the iOS app, you can now name the files as you scan them. Incredible!!!

But…there is a huge but… you can’t name the files in ScanSnapHome as your scan them if they are going to the cloud. You have to manually scan and then “share” the file with google drive and remember to manually change the name of the file. It works, but could work so much better.

So, I recently stopped using Google Drive and instead have been using the scan to iPhone feature, but this also misses the mark because you can’t customize what folder on your iPhone you want to save to. So the ScanSnap app creates a “ScanSnap Home” folder on your iPhone, but you can switch it to a folder in your iCloud, or have both.

Please fix this both of these issues. When you do, your printer and app solution will finally be all that it can be!

Great App

More than expected

Great features and easy to use!

Highly recommend!

I love the LANDSCAPE mode

Now I can work it on my iPad. You've done the best thing.

Better than all the rest!

I have used another scanner and it drove me crazy. This scan snap is absolutely amazing! Worth every penny. Don’t hesitate. Buy it now.
