AEW: Rise to the Top Reviews

The game is fun. Looking forward to more in the future from it. Its 100% a gotcha game (throw as much money as possible to do better) but it can still be fine as of now as ftp. One issue I keep seeing with it is at times it just will not load content after connecting to server. Something to look into.

There needs to be more added for a reason to actually play the game vs set up and check later. Yes I understand it’s a idle game but there also has to be some perk for idling with the game open vs just set up auto and log out to check later. Where it be things running slightly faster or something anything really that benifits anyone whom chooses to actually be in the game playing and not set up and log out.

As an this app fan, I’d already preordered this game. As of this review im on episode 4- and this game has MAJOR potential! It’s very fun but I see some issues. Granted, the game just came out, but some suggestions:
- Add in wrestler themes when the music queues!
- Add some expressions for wrestlers!!! It’d make the story depth so much better
- Fix the quality issue with the wrestler’s PNGs!!
Asides from that I LOVE this game. My special interest is wrestling and im hyper fixated on the BCC. This is an amazing game and I recommend it to everyone!

The UI alone is enough to be mad at this game but, the definitions of skills, the spread of resources to be pay to win immediately or grind aimlessly as the progression isn’t money based. Oh no, it’s objective based. So even if you’re making a bunch of money, if you don’t have the cards or secondary resources to level up cards then you can stay stuck. You can’t even level or collect your people without them already being a level of strong to face the whales for a good turn out. Pay money:Instant wins:waste of time for non whales.

As an this app fan their video game attempts hurt to sit through. Now call that hate.

As I said in the title, it’s a great game. But there is ONE thing that makes the game hard to understand. Listen, I don’t know if this happens to everyone or just me but when wrestlers are talking, it only shows half of the speech bubble so I can’t see what they’re saying. Other than that it’s a great game and I’m happy they’ve finally made a great for this app fans.

Too much over priced items in this game literally they want you to pay five dollars for each character and then there elite pass is $20 They have a legendary Bryan Danielson for $100 and at this point they will never even get a Dollar from me just because these prices are too insane and it makes me feel like they’re all about the money instead of player experience. And they have 12 avatars, and not one is a representation of a black character. 👎🏽

First few boards are fun as you can progress then when you get to episode 8 everything comes to a screeching hault and it takes you forrrrreverrrrr to do anything. You have to upgrade everything to make progress and you need tons of them protein bars to upgrade. Which they give few out. U have to gain fans to get the bars and that eventually costs a ton. And it only gives out the bars for every 100 fans. And then it only gives 1-2. And u need 2-300 bars to upgrade 1 thing

There’s a foundation here that can be fun. However, the amount of ads you have to watch to get bonuses is insane. I spend more time on ads then the game itself. Of course it’s also a “pay to win” style game that has unfortunately become the norm of this genre. The grind to get the items to upgrade the matches and crew are sparse and beg the player to spend money to get the upgrades.

Trying to play this game without spending money and not constantly watching ads is impossible. Just know what you’re getting into here.

It’s basically just another one of those games that you upgrade areas and they generate money while you sit there. But then, since it’s free, they ask for ridiculous amounts of money to be able to unlock cards or items to help you get through the monotony of waiting. Like I’ve seen a bunch that want $40. For a free game. That’s almost as much as buying an Xbox Series X or PS5 game. No mobile game should be asking for that much money for one tiny in game item.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with the game and would give it a five star but I’m 99% sure the leaderboard is fake after getting my friend to download it and seeing we have fully diffrent leaderboards. I also noticed that after a couple days of playing it feels like it slows down and takes forever to progress in the game. Has this happened to anyone else?

I’m beginning to worry about this app games as a whole. This is by far one of the most mindless click and point wrestling games I’ve ever played. With such features as “book a female match”. Something that Tony himself barely remembers to do. On top of seeing Brit baker more on this mobile game than I have on my television in over a year. If you’re looking for engaging, fun and entertaining wrestling content look somewhere else. This is an absolute joke of a game even for mobile with the wrestlers looking like pale Samson’s characters. What a waste of time this was and I honestly looked forward to playing it

I love how this game isn’t like those other tap and upgrade games where you just complete the task and move on to the next level. This game has some action and a decent storyline to it and being a wrestling fan makes it all the more fun. Keep up the good work.

The game "Rise to the Top" may mislead you with its name, suggesting a career mode, but it's actually more about engaging in storylines and using cards to battle others. While the storylines are decent, the gameplay boils down to the classic tap-for-money mechanic. After a day or two, the pace slows down, creating a push for in-app purchases. Considering the dated feel of the game, it doesn't quite capture the essence you'd expect from an this app game. Personally, I miss this app GM.

I really like this game. The idle aspect is pretty good. The PvP matches are good and the character designs are well done.

But the game really needs more to do. I know it’s new and I hope it’s coming but it desperately needs more PvP action.

As it stands the PvP bouts take forever to fill and you find yourself just waiting for time to pass so you can progress.

It’s a wrestling game and it needs more wrestling. A dedicated PvP mode or maybe a PvP event. As it stands you get to do about 8 fights a day between PvP mode and Episodes (after Episode 8) and that’s not good enough

This game is really fun and I see myself playing it a lot. My only issue is that a lot of the dialogue is being cut off . It’s not fitting with the iPad maybe ? I’m not sure , but most of the time I can’t see what they are saying . If that was fixed and the special events weren’t so hard to progress in it would be perfect. The characters are awesome.

Love the game, it’s a great combo of Idle with as dash of RPG. Easy enough for anyone to understand immediately. However, the best part is the Character Art and over all animation design kudos to the team! I might be a little biased though I know the developers 😉

I never write reviews bc I just never see a point buttttt as a big wrestling fan I just want to say if ur looking for a fun game that involves ur favorite wrestlers this is it. It’s so good, the story line is good, unlocking characters are fun. It’s not challenging. It’s such a good game.

Sometimes the text box at the top has the words cut off so I can’t tell what there saying sometimes during cutscenes because it’s zoomed in a little bit to far

Also sometimes the top of the wrestlers heads for the match screen sometimes get cut off as well

This game is most eventful game I have ever played. I would recommend, I do not write reviews a lot but I’m not joking, if you don’t like this game u have to go. I’m a pretty big this app fan so it was very nice that they came out with a this app game.

So much better then the other this app game that released a few years ago for phones! Just wish the console game was better to :/

So it’s your run of the mill idle tap grow game. The difference is it involves wrestling — so I’d play most anything at that station. Totally huge screw up that made me give it 2 stars instead of 4? If you want to play the game on another device and start where you’ve put so much time into getting to, you have to play the beginning of the game through until Episode freakin 5. Not being able to log into your account immediately is a giant faux pas — but making me play (when each episode takes a considerable amount of time) til the fifth level essentially is mind numbingly Greek, to say the least. So in the end, I’ll prolly end up deleting it cause I can’t play it on it big iPad, where the game would be a great upgrade due to its style from my iPhone. Developers: what were you thinking? Whoever implemented that should have their brains scanned. ✌🏻

UPDATE: So, I bluffed, I played to episode five on my iPad. LoL … not only did it reset me to the beginning of the game after on my iPad, it did so as well on my 30+ hours played original device. Heartbreaking to say the least … thank god I didn’t throw any cheese down on the game — I was very close many a time. Actually irritated badly … welp, in the name and words of Matthew Douglas Hardy: “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELETE.” It was mediocre getting to know ya, Rise to the Flop.

I enjoy the game. It is like all the other ‘pay to play’ games. I indulged a little bit (I don’t with other games). You can win currencies by careful planning.

I would like to see something where you can boost up ‘Rare’ wrestlers to be powerhouses against the ‘Epic’ wrestlers. It is like the only way to win the PVP Arena. I find myself using the same 3-5 Legendary and Epic Wrestlers.

Recently, the ads have been malfunctioning. After the ad plays and says Reward Granted, nothing happens. Clicking on the X doesn’t work; rather it allows the user to select text. This doesn’t happen with the ads for the King that keeps getting into trouble.

Bravo to Eastside Games on their achievement with Rise to the Top. AEW is fun, entertaining, and catchy. The realism within their artwork is top-notch and half the fun. After I learned a few tricks, I couldn’t put this game down.

Also, I needed Technical Support for one small issue and they were lightning quick in their response time. You’ll find me on the leaderboards for the weeks and months to come. Great work!

I played this game for a couple of days. You will have to watch A LOT of ads. It’s pretty repetitive and mindless but good if you have little going on in your life and you just want to pass time. Did I mention it involves watching A LOT of ads? I was considering deleting AEW after feeling like my time could be much better spent when the decision was made for me. I logged on in the morning and it got stuck on 25% loading so I deleted it. Time to become a productive member of society again.

The latest update changed the music and I have to say I don’t like this new track. The launch track was a banger and this one just isn’t. At least give us the option to use the original song. I left the game running just to listen to the music…

Love the game. The only problem I have with it is that it reset me to episode 1 after I finished ep 25. It did the same thing to my wife before me. This was after y’all did the update and said you fixed the problem. Other than that, I’m loving everything else about it.

I am an this app fan. I enjoy the effort they put into the gameplay, where you build up your favorite wrestlers and follow some storylines and fight pvp. There are ads, but they’re not as bad as other games that have made me un-download them. The part that bothers me, however, is how much they’re charging for wrestler/upgrade packs and the backstage pass!!! I’m the kind of person to spend $1-5 at a time on games I like, and asking over $50 for some legendary wrestler cards is insulting. I would even be interested in the backstage pass if it wasn’t $20! I think y'all should lower your prices so that your fans can get more out of the game that they desire, and will stay loyal enough to play for a long time….

Title says it all. Don’t even try to compete in events unless you’re willing to shell out heavy money. You can go a while competition without getting characters you need to auto collect and advance unless, of course, you pay. And if you cave and pay for a lower tier, you won’t get characters for the next match until….. you guessed it, you pay some more. Most of these idle games atleast let you advance if you have the time and patience to wait around clicking to collect for hours, but this game makes it pointless when the next tier up that someone else paid for can advance you 3 alphabets and they can auto collect and walk away making 100,000x what you’re collecting.

some cards can only be unlocked by paying $99 😭 it’s kinda possible to play without paying money or watching ads but watching ads is unavoidable as it’s a main function within the game, and as stated in the title of this review the game is purely pay to win; mini in game “shows” that have leaderboards based off money produced and prizes are given out based on your placement at the end of the “show” event, it’s always very clear within all those events that the top 6 or so people ALWAYS pay real money to boost there placement, it’s impossible to complete as a free to play player. Game would be awesome, maybe even my favorite game if this app & The developers weren’t greedier then the ghost of walt disney. (0 stars if i could)

I love a good idle game. And I also love my soap operas, I mean wrestling :-) So this game is a great combo for me. F2P isn’t punished. Good opportunity to spend if you want. And their support has been fast and extremely helpful. Sounds like they are listening when we have a complaint. And those have been very few. If you think you might like this, you will most likely love it. Download today!

Having lots of fun playing it. However I paid for some stuff that uploaded then the game froze and the items disappeared. It has happened to me a few times with the free items as well. Not sure why it has happened but other than that the game is fun. I would give 5 starts for not that issue. I’m actually like it more fight forever which should be the other way around!

This game is pretty fun. It is one of those you turn on every couple of hours (or more often if you wish) and your collection of wrestlers and upgrades build and build over time. Seems like it will have playability for a long period of time. A great app for any this app fan!

I love the animation style and the way the wrestlers look. But it’s not a game and you don’t wrestle. The goal is to make money by automating matches that you don’t watch by pressing an icon on the screen. For the main event you click an icon that says “start match” and watch simple stock animation of them bopping each other. And then it’s over and you set up another. Unlocking characters and a bunch of other nonsense as you go. Its redundant and boring. I wish they’d just make a game where you’re actually WRESTLING. Fans don’t want “fantasy booking”. I don’t want to dress up wrestlers, book them, feed them like tamagotchi etc. I want them to wrestle in a game just like on Xbox. Simple. Another case of the owner thinking that everyone likes the same things he does, like fantasy booking and NJPW.

I don't usually play idle games, but any time there's a mobile wrestling game, I'm interested. When I downloaded this and saw it was yet another idle game, I almost deleted it. But I'm glad I gave it a second chance. It's fun to pass the time and i really like the art style. My only gripe is the prices of stuff. $20 for a mobile game battle pass is ridiculous. Console games battle passes don't even cost that much!
