When I first saw this game, I was like “this looks like one of those town building games where you grind to grow, only to be attacked and have all your stuff stolen, unless you pay to play’.

But something about it seemed different. It felt like I could actually grow my town and build up, and engage in the multiplayer fray on my terms. And for weeks I built up my town and it was good.

But now - I feel like a sucker. It IS one of those games. I’ve been in hard grind mode for the last two weeks, trying to build up enough supplies to just complete the next campaign battle. But now, I’m regularly being attacked by players who are stealing all my resources. I don’t even have enough resources to heal my troops. All my work over the past month - for nothing.

Which is why I’m claiming bulls*** on all the positive reviews on here. There is no way the bulk of them are legit. This is just the same old, re-skinned, pay to play, world building abusive multiplayer game we’ve seen for years.

Update: this game is now unplayable. Don’t waste your time or your money here. IGG has unbalanced this game to the point where long time players are quitting. Do yourself a favor and find another game to play.

This game used to be very fun and competitive. However, the last 2 updates have made it very clear that this is now a pay to win game. The customer service in this game is also non-existent. It doesn’t matter what your concern or complaint is; you will always receive the exact same form email with no actual resolution of your concern. I do not think anyone actually monitors the customer service channels. They just wait a day and send the same email. Don’t play this game if you want something fun. It’s gotten boring and predictable with its pay to win

Loved the game starting out. Tons of missions to do. Fun and engaging. Then at some point and time a clan decided to attack me and just won’t stop. Can’t move away from them. No matter how many times I relocate. I’m attacked all over again. So I can’t gather resources or even replenish my army. Some people have a night of 24 million. Which means if they decide to attack you. Kiss everything goodbye. It takes a long time to get a might of a million and then a higher person wipes you to nothing and then farms you so you can’t get any resources. You just get stuck. Nothing to do. No where to go. Base attacked non stop. So I went from spending money daily and having fun. To now there is no point of checking my base. I can’t even gather a resource with out an incoming attack. So new players be warned before spending money like I did.

Overall, the game was fun. However, I took a break from May 2024 for up until August 2024 and upon my login there was a message that stated my login was expired and I had to re-login again once I logged in again through my Apple ID, everything was a erased and all my progress was deleted. After speaking with a live chat support, they said it was through a guest account, which makes zero sense since I logged in with the Apple ID and face ID option. I was told I had to show multiple receipts of purchases which I do have and I did send in one screenshot and they said I had to show an additional 6-7 receipts plus the country I logged in from and the ID I logged in from along with other steps to prove it’s my account, I understand high-security, but I also understand that my information should not have been deleted if I spent money on an game app. My information should not have been deleted just because I haven’t played in a few months.

So I play faithfully… like everyday… I have an 80+ day streak… I LOVE this game and I LOVE my tribe mates. HOWEVER, I HATE bullies and my entire server is OVERRUN with them. The top tribe has like 10-15 different “sub tribes” that bully you and relentless attack you until you join their clan. Having to keep a shield up so my city doesn’t get attacked but then if my troops are out gathering they can still be attacked.. I have literally lost half of my original tribe due to these bullies.

I understand it’s a war game but there should be more balance to the servers and give a PvE option. I wouldn’t have continued like I have if I knew right from the get go that it was this bad… especially with the server I’m in. And trying to talk to Customer Service is a JOKE.

Game lags sometimes and you press over and over to get something to happen, I have a IPHONE 14 pro max its the game.

In addition this company is all about collecting data, To ask them to delete your account they want all the IP addresses you have used, Pictures of any transactions with the game / Receipts etc. They also asked me for my home information just to delete. Do not trust them they are more about stealing or trying to steal your information that information is not needed to delete an account.
I am not about to give more private info to delete something. Apple should not allow companies like this on their app store.

I have had a lot of fun playing the game. However, as with a lot of mobile games, you would expect that you could play with your friends. Unfortunately, it’s just not the case at the moment. The game places you into a server when you get to a certain stage of development, but what they don’t tell you is that you cannot change servers or request server change to play with your real life friends. So kids don’t be like me and spend money on a game that doesn’t allow you to do such a simple thing like enjoy companionship of your local friends. Until there is a fix for this I will not be removing this review. Thank you for reading.

Hey guys any off these games now are rip offs. I've tried them all and they are designed for those to win who can throw the most money at them. AND THAT GOES FOR ALL OF THEM. Like this piece of human offal game here that just lost my account. No way I'm spending another dime on these maggots game, or any other. Do yourself a favor and put your money into something you can touch, like property, resources for your family, defense of your family and belongs, a good solid truck or car, etc... My point is these games bring you nothing in return, they are entertainment, and not even good entertainment at that! Why? Because if they're bot stealing from you? Then the people in the russian, asian or middle eastern countries are. If it were just people speaking english that would be different, but it's not is it? And they look at Americans as mark, meaning they are out to take whatever they can. And these games purposely put us with these parasites! They could route us to areas of the game where it's mostly Americans, or whatever country you come from in europe or north america. But they don't because you would work together with your own countrymen and probably spend less. They don't want that! And most of the developers are from some country in asia. Usually China these days. I'm really surprised they are even allowed to operate in America personally. Shows the state of our country huh?

Stronger players can attack you relentlessly and send you death wish wishes and tell you they’re going to make you quit the game. They won’t do anything to help, blocking the player doesn’t stop them from attacking you. If you seek help through their support, you’re wasting your time because they won’t help you while you’re being bullied out of game. They tell you to wait for n email, I guess that how they get you to spend money. I really liked this game until now. Im really disappointed

This is a pay to win game. After you reach tier 2 characters it takes over 36 hours to advance and researching new developments in this game also takes far too long 12+ hrs per research item at level T2 unless you purchase gems or skips. This is not a free game in any way they give good support up until chief hall level 7 but after that it’s a major drag and takes way too long to build. In order to play this game enjoyably it will cost some serious $$$. Game function is great and very similar to AoE but the wait times are far too much reduce those to reasonable times and this game would be awesome.

This game is great in many areas but unfortunately there are things that ruin a player experience.

The game recently launched KvK. We have been endlessly bullied by a player who has the funds to keep himself well armed. To win KvK mist times the same kingdom must cooperate to compete against the opposing side. In our end its not the same.

If a tribe member is not following rules set by leadership, we have the option to remove them. During KvK you are unable to do so. Which in result the player can do as he/she pleases. In our case, a player is breaking all rules taking advantage of his ability to do so. In a way its cheating since he is aiding the opposing kingdom.

Customer service sees this as a Okay strategy and the game is designed to be PvP. So I share my review with 1 star since its a frustrating situation when I am also competitive and cheating is allowed in a game. This game was extremely fun until this happened. I wont come back to it and I will request a full refund despite what their policy states. This game is no longer what it used to be.

I hope one day the game is balanced correctly.

EXTREMELY fun at first: great graphics, very generous with gold, resources, and space; LOTS of different things to do that keeps the game fresh and interesting; HOWEVER, after some time everything becomes repetitious. E.G. tasks to send workers on, fun to look for at first, then after just the right amount of time they begin pointing out all the different tasks. You think ‘great! Good move by the game-maker’s, I was starting to bore of looking around (albeit the rewards are substantial). But then that gets old: they take you around the streets to all the errands needing done, you point, click, then click gather-for EACH task. JUST HAVE a sign to click once: SEND WORKERS ON ERRANDS! Ugh! And it’s that way with Eagle Scout discoveries (I forget what it’s called, but again, it pays great dividends—just gets old after a while, sigh. And there is an attack map that gets old, too, after a while. You’re having to do all this clicking that originally was beautiful in order to collect enough goods to build buildings and make troops. I’m a geek who enjoys keeping files, but choosing AND equipping the leaders with the correct skills is way too much studying/research if you’re going to do the job right. I made mistakes BOTH times I played the game: and I keep notes. I’d like to love it, but I’m quitting. And it’s a shame because I feel the makers put a lot more effort into this game than most of the other game makers.

I started off having fun since I was excited to play this game. They wanted you to join a clan, so I decided to pay and make my own so that way I don’t have to worry about getting kicked out for inactive or not doing what the clan wants. Instead the game decided, since I hadn’t logged in for a week due to life, to remove my leadership/owner of the clan and give it to someone else. Once again I was excited to play this game but it now lost all value to me. Will not be recommending this game at all

I started playing Viking rise and was doing good so far and I started my own clan. I was playing everyday right before Mother’s Day and I didn’t play for one day when I was demoted from my own clan and someone else was made leader. That is not right. I do have a life so I can’t be on every second. I was hoping this game would be something I could take my time on and play at my pace. I can’t believe I spent money on this game just to have this happen to me. The devs make playing games like this undesirable.

Normally I’d just Star up from laziness/complacency. But after having an entire server(the big $ HOK was first) quitting due to toxic behavior and the kingdom chat it need said. There is no active moderation in chat. So while the game was worth me finding a new server be ready to give up and lose your $ and time because the developers do not care if they are talking like pedophiles for “laughs” or simply chasing you across server’s via the English chat to harass you. Do they spend yes..but not all of them and let’s be real HOK has tribes/alliances/guilds in all of these games..yet it’s too toxic for them? Sad a great game is abused by children mascarading as adults.

At 1st I loved this game. But after a while it has gotten much harder to build and research. 6 days to upgrade village hall is just way too long. Same with training and research. I have spent over $100 of my own real money only to be raided by much larger and stronger tribes. They came during the night and camped outside of our villages and just hit us time and time again. Took most of our resources. We are a small tribe and not very strong. So it seems unfair that they could do this. Strong tribes should only be able to hit other strong tribes. I will not spend any more of my own money on this game. So not it is boring and we are afraid to do much at risk of being attacked again. Also in game resources take too much time to gather. The game forces you to spend gobs of $$$$. I was playing for hours every night. Now I’m just doing the bare min because it takes so long to collect items for building and I will not spend real money to be stolen by bullies in game

While,I love this game I do not Ike the paywall at all. Each week or season you entice players with the next best things (like the 3 heroes now in kvk) and put them behind a paywall. While you can grind for these items it is exceedingly difficult to achieve unless you throw money at it. Glitched events occur often like rat eradication which shut off 24 hours too early, kvk battle day that was a real cluster with lag and game crashes, and the list goes on. I have played from the beginning and still find it a struggle to complete everything……I unless I drop money. I will not. I understand cash is needed to run the servers and pay the help but make event attainable if you wish to sustain current player levels.

This is a game not of strategy or skill it’s who has the most money and who can spend the fastest. The competitions are all about spending money. If you don’t spend money, you’re not gonna win. Every day is the same thing spend as much as you can to be rewarded Little. If you don’t have money your just wasting your time you’ll never win and no matter how much you play and how strong you make your city someone with money can take one march and 0 you make you have to start all over and you can put a $1,000 to rebuild and you still will be no Match for the Wales of this game this has to be atleast a $10,000 min game so if your only looking to spend money this is the game for u no strategy or skill needed good luck to you

First, for potential players: that video they show you in the corner, no, the game looks nothing like that so if you like those graphics, don’t expect them anywhere but VikingRise store

Second, if you plan to play on an iPad, do not expect smooth game play. You will be dropped regularly, usually at critical moments. This is a multiple times a day, every day occurrence.

Third, this game is expensive if you want to be decent without playing for a year to get there. I wouldn’t mind it if the above issues were actually being addressed, but so far, the developers seem to just not care a lick.

With that being said though, I do enjoy this game a lot. There is much to do, from character and city building, quests, tribes, and events. The events are all geared towards the spenders, so the rich keep getting richer and the power gap just grows though, which is a shame. Still, I am a regular player, but until the glitches get fixed, I won’t be a regular contributor to the paychecks. Could easily be a 5* and my favorite game.

I just started this game and it’s to early to tell if it’s one to remember,but as of right now I’m enjoying it the game hasn’t had a pop up yet to make a purchase so far so that’s always a good thing I am moderate spender on these types of game though if it like them keep your eye out for my updated review! So far it’s got a cool concept, unfortunately it makes the game a bit much. This is definitely for the person who has vast amounts of time to sit and be dedicated. Like other games , rise of kingdoms, call of dragons, etc… you manage your camp and scout the outside world. In Viking rise you have a camp and several other camps within your camp to manage making it a lot of click up-keeping.
Definitely for a multi-tasker.
Zooming out would be nice but only give you small portion of your camp before zooming out to real world cause you to zoom back in.
Lag seems to be an issue, constantly buffering on my new iPhone.
Overall I’ve played a few hours and it’s abit overwhelming. As a free to play father of 4 it’s not for those who don't have dedicated time otherwise your left behind and with so much more to manage vs other games listed above, it’s a definite possibility you will get kicked later on out of guild.

While the game is surprisingly complex, I highly doubt Ubisoft would look kindly on the fact you ripped off their main character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Not only is the name the same (Ivor) but the even the nickname of “wolf-kissed” was stolen as well as a large amount of the character design itself. Vikings were incredibly diverse peoples; the fact you couldn’t come up with one of your own does not speak well for your respect of existing characters and copyrights.

An imaginary 5 stars for the fact that this is a solid game which I really enjoyed until a drop for an offline “safety shield” showed up. Whoever came up with the concept of offline protection should be blood-eagled. This isn’t the first time I’ve run across this mechanic and unfortunately the devs for this otherwise fun game decided to use it. I cannot get into any game which uses these timed shields so a player may avoid getting pvp’d while off doing RL stuff. The sole purpose of this sort of ploy seems intended to keep one online as long as possible. If a game is worth the time investment, people will look forward to playing often without fear of attack while they’re at work, sleeping, or etc. A shame, really.

Overall it’s a good game, great graphics, ptw obviously.. but one major concern is I just watched a player feed himself with 100 level 5 “leaders” and he just keep kicking out and bring new ones into an alliance. This was going on for awhile just carts after carts feeding himself… it was interesting to watch but very concerning if it is allowed to continue on.

So I downloaded it and played it snd made pretty good progress. Then I didn’t play for like a half a month and I joined back, and it deleted all of my data and I had to start over. (Unless there was a save button that I didn’t see) overall, the game was kinda boring. I liked it a little bit, but nah.

I like this game. I’d give it a 8 outta 10 in fact. But I have some slight concerns. First thorny crowns, cute but way too rare. I finished the quest to do 18 bounties, out of all those maybe two or three dropped them and no nilflungs on world map have dropped them either. I have been able to upgrade my watchtower to 10 so far though so that’s great! My next thing is not a concern just a small critique ;) You guys named your battle pass Viking Horn and there’s not one Viking horn in the whole dang bp is what it looks like even if you purchase premium you don’t receive Viking horns. It’s like kfc being out of chicken you know ? Otherwise really like this game

So, I have only been playing the game for about 45 minutes to an hour now so I haven’t been able to see ALL the hidden cons of the game yet. But so far, so good. Love the storyline and graphics. Seems a bit too adolescent as it pertains to the language used in game. Would like it to be more rated R than PG like it is. Other than that, the game seems to be doing great. Although I’m pretty sure the free to play as I, won’t stand a chance against the pay to play players. Make that a level playing field and this game would be perfect!!

RoK clone just without passive resource generation. So it kills the free to play player base. Has its issues like constant crashes because of optimization even with a low graphics setting. Has a better hero customization than RoK but that’s about it. The game is only 6 months old so I’m investing for what they may change in fix. But I may be a fool..

I gave it a 4.9 in stead of a 5 because, you have to have internet to play it but there is still a lot more games that you need internet to play. But other than that I think that it’s a fun game.

To the developer(s): I love the game and I think you guy(s) should keep it up.

I have spent lots of money on this game. Battle of the ruins did not match any tribes properly, and my tribe [Raze] deserves a walkover in the event. The kingdoms are in an uproar about the intense mismatches of the battle of the ruins. Im leaving five stars because I genuinely love the game, but I’m leaving a bitter note because I was promised, by the developers, that my tribe would walk over the event if there were no tribes around mine’s power to match with. My 33 million might tribe was paired against a 172 million might tribe and I’m very disappointed that I’ve made so many preparations, used so many heals, and drained my tribespeople so much so that we need days to recover. $20-$30 worth of instant healing went down the drain today without a chance. I’ve stayed up all night until dawn I just celebrated someone’s birthday I’m so tired. But I forced myself to stay awake because I love this game so much just to get shot in the face with the worst pvp event algorithm I’ve ever seen in any game ever.

I love the relaxing music it’s so fun😆 I see hard work put in it there’s no adds from what I’ve experienced so far it’s so fun!☺️😊 I love your game I love the battles! I love the gameplay this game ima admit it is the best game I’ve played so far you rly put hard work into this! I will say this for sure the game is great but there is something that I don’t like about it the game makes you buy stuff with the gems and it goes up too much and after a while it just becomes too frustrating to play but it is a really fun game experience. Another thing I would like to say is that when you go to battle it will say you have to have a certain amount of soldiers to win but it also says close to same strength but victory is uncertain. That kind of get annoying. I really love the game keep up the good work I have faith that you can make it happen. Thank you for your service.

This game is so much more than I ever thought! I figured it would be like farming along with the sims…. I was wrong! You must stay sharp, form alliances, battle other tribes, while increasing your might at all costs. KVK is literally a blood bath, your always plotting, or being plotted against! My favorite part is the bonds you make with people from all around the world. I couldn’t imagine not logging on every day, just to talk to them. There is a built in translator so you never have to guess what someone from another country and or language is conveying. This game is my addiction! I love it!

Beautiful collation of resource gathering, heroes with unique skills, and town building. The graphics are top notch; the attention to details in terms of structures, seasons, and heroes/armies is sublime and also artistic. The game gets slower as you advance; like any other similar game but when you get in to a Tribe it gets a lot more fun. You can rally to different creatures with your tribe members and build special abilities and structures that make your territory stronger. There are daily and weekly events that keep it exciting. The more you play the more enjoyable it gets.

This game is, and I’m not exaggerating, a perfect execution of a multi player hero game. In addition, you don’t have to pay for play, you can get a lot of resources and exp if you are part of a tribe. So make sure join one. The game is so much fun and quality and full of details that I actually bought few gems/bundles to support the developers.

Great game been playing it for a straight week now only issue is that it takes a couple of hours to make like troops at a high level but you can use speed ups awesome game no ads good graphics 10/10

Awesome game but game but it would be great if there was no limit of how much troops you are able to put on the fights in your kingdom against the neeflunges. It would also be great if you could go into first person mode you like be a troop or a hero. But like I said awesome game I love it but I would love it if you put that in.

Just started my game and already I enjoyed the storyline and gameplay all around. Extremely easy to learn and complete tasks while still finding new players and exciting new challenges.

I absolutely love this game and will likely play for several years to come, but as a tribe leader it is difficult to grow with being online 24/7. Worse, all the piers and beast lairs are controlled by the two major tribes, and have multiple tribes that ACTUALLY WORK FOR THEM, making them INVINCIBLE. It is also difficult because the kingdom stops getting that many new players after about a month, which sounds like a lot of time but it is really not enough, and only people like YouTubers and other influencers can get members.

I wonder why all war grubbing money games owned by Chinese?
Why they make unbalanced games that favor spending and not a real balanced game play, those games are the worst always start fun and then slowly you realize that there are some rich dictator in every server that destroy your gaming experience, played this game before left it about a year ago was hoping it won’t be money grubbing game like the last one I had, but in reality another money grubbing game and what a coincidence it’s Chinese again I wonder why all money grubbing war games are owned by China?
Feel like this Chinese financial scam needs and international committee and investigations about what exactly they are doing and possibly it time to put some regulations on those games since they also false advertising themselves for something they are not I bet all of you see they lying ads showing you one type of game on Facebook but totally different one when you download it.

I just started out on this game but so far it has proven to be fun and had engaging gameplay my only complaint is it will sometimes take like 1-3 minutes tii in load an action while playing a spinning wheel on my screen but this happens very infrequently and there is no adds overall a lot to love and not much to hate
