sonnen is terrible. If you go backwards in time to make comparisons it will not let you then go forwards again
Also— it skips data!!!! If you are looking at 2023 and scroll backwards it goes to 2021 and then 2019. No way to look at 2022 and 2020. Horrible. Does same thing with weeks and months.
sonnen used to work before an update. Now sonnen doesn’t work at all. It always says I’m not using any energy when I’m always using energy. It says my battery is being always at 100 percent. I hope sonnen is wrong and I’m not pulling from the grid. Overall this battery is a waste of money. Not worth the money at all more worries than there should be.
Way better
The old my this app app had a simple interface - almost minimalistic. The Live State view was easy to look at and understand. At a quick glance, you were able to see how the energy was flowing and how much. With this new app, not so much. I don’t care for the huge colorful icons. Now to see any metric, I need to glance down the screen. I’ll be using the old app until I can’t anymore.
my this app, the previous app, was a picture of elegant simplicity, showing system information in two quickly viewed windows (Live state & Energy Analysis). No scrolling, no multiple taps, easily understood even on a smaller iPhone screen. Do NOT sunset what is now the older app. The new app may be cute, but to a knowledgeable user or an engineer it is a step backwards.
sonnen is very useful when it is working. Locks up frequently and the only option is to delete and download again. Have reinstalled about 8 times over the course of a few months.
Wife still has the old version on her phone and I love it much better than the new one. I already read another review that states what I am saying.
The views were decent and with each update, the data I want to see requires more and more clicks to find. You are not focusing on the important things from a user perspective.
Can’t easily get to former day history with all data at a glance.
Constantly having to renter my password information. Sometimes it will remember me sometimes it won’t, and that is if it lets me on sonnen at all after I have tried to log in.
App should send you a notification when there is a grid power failure.
I actually like the interface for the most part and don’t mind the changes but the new live view isn’t my favorite. At a glance I could see the energy numbers, power flow, percentages, and more. This one it seems like I have to look around, scroll around, and that it’s designed more to look fancy than to give information. The graphic doesn’t give any numbers anymore.
Would also love if you made it native to the iPad (and macOS) so I could use it there. It’s be amazing on a bigger screen. A way to integrate other circuits into it with sensors so I could monitor energy usage not on the battery would be great too.
I love the layout of the new app. There’s a lot more information at my fingertips now.
I really like the color scheme as well. It makes it much easier for my old eyes to see it.
