Where is all the data?

I have a system that also includes a battery back up system. The fact I can’t see any battery data or panel level information on Sunrun is very disappointing. If I’m forced to use Sunrun, I expect to be able to monitor the health of the system myself since I did after all pay for it. Sunrun needs feature parity to at least the mySolarEdge app, which I cannot get access to through this app.

Worthless

Sunrun looks pretty but it’s data is sadly lacking. I thought the old app was bad, this is worse. All the numbers are rounded off except the current day making accuracy next to impossible. No way to get a downloadable file. The only improvement was being able to see what’s going on in real time. Don’t disable the old app!!!! The daily production never added up to the monthly bill and now you’ve made tracking production worthless.

Why take away the ability to see year over year comparisons on the same graph? This is good for gauging is efficiency of your system is degrading - for example a sign you need to wash panels.

The new app is slick - looks like it was put together by the marketing team. The old app looked like it was put together by the engineering team. Wasn’t as pretty, sure, but gave a more info. :-/

Needs alerts

Lack of alerts cost me over $2500 in lost energy, payments for a system that was not functional and company waits months to call/email you to let you know. On top of that when they do they don’t make it seem important or urgent, it’s written off as a communication issue with your system. The apps basic function should be alerts and monitoring and it is an epic fail on this

First, I appreciate your support in restoring my system.

However, I was surprised by the lack of knowledge your screener and live-chat persons displayed. I encourage management review both of those encounters in order to better prepare them to pay attention to what your customers are experiencing. Examples: Chat person emailed me instructions to “recycle” my system to restore the “green” led on my inverter. I never said the green LED was off. Donney, challenged me when I told her I was able to monitor production hourly.

My intent is to improve understanding between your employees and customers.

Sunrun looks 100x better and is user friendly.

However, the thing I liked most about the old app was being able to see how much energy the system generated versus usage. Now you have to view those on two different pages. I’d think it a relatively simple add, but until then I kept the old app.

Why??

Why couldn’t this app just update their old app instead of creating a whole new one? Creates more confusion and distress for customers yet this app will say “we’re son glad you’re happy” even though it’s clear that customers ARE NOT HAPPY. Just reading the other reviews & seeing the low stars show that they don’t care what you have to say they will continue to believe they are doing a great job when they are not. So again why did this app make us customer go through the pain of downloading a whollynew app and ignore the content of the comments? The blatant disregard of customer’s complaints being spun into self gratification is sickening. It’s one big scam from the moment they knock on your door for high pressure sales tactics, the agonizing process of the addition of solar service to this new app. Hello? Can you hear us now? Personal think there’s a huge disconnection.
Why should we have to email them in addition to our clear communication in our comments? Waste of our time & energy just escalating every step. Why don’t they just listen the first time & go back to the old app & fix that?!?!?!

Improved Interface but Data Discrepancies

In the previous app (mySunrun), there's a discrepancy in production data between the old and new versions. For instance, yesterday's production in the old app shows 53 kWh, while in the new app, it's 54.6 kWh. When totaling this year's production, there's a difference of over 200 kWh. However, I appreciate the addition of today's production feature, which wasn't available in the old app. the new app is much easier to use compared to the old one.

The new this app app is much improved over the prior one. It’s closer to real time and provides hourly and daily production results. However there could still be improvements. There is no information available on individual panel production, just overall system performance. Also, Sunrun doesn’t monitor usage so there is no way to know if more energy is being used than generated.

I gave Sunrun four stars because when Sunrun worked it was clear in revealing the energy production and battery data I sought in real time. However, Sunrun lagged the current real time data sometimes by several hours. When I called customer service, I was informed that the data lag was due to cellular service issues. Hopefully, those issues will be addressed and I can give a sterling 5-star review.

I have found Sunrun very helpful in allowing me to keep an eye on daily energy values. I’m aware that certain numbers are estimates but when I’ve checked further they are very accurate. I would recommend Sunrun without hesitation. Matt

Long Time to Turn On

It sure took a long time before it was finally activated, but the saving since have been really great, I should be getting a nice check from Edson next month!

Good app. Slow to load the data at times. I believe it refreshes the new data every 15 mins. I wish they would have carried over from the old app the % of clouds. I also wish you could put in your billing cycle from your energy supplier and be able to pull up that data. It allows day, week, month and year. Having the ability to add custom report for your billing cycle would help us understand what was produced. But, other wise it is a useful app.

Thank you for updating Sunrun . This revision seems to be easier to navigate & provides real-time data, unlike the previous version.
It also seem to be more stable. It hasn’t required me (yet) to go thru the first time logon as the previous version often did. That was very frustrating time after time.

Sunrun has definitely improved but there is still room for improvement. It would be nice to have real time data feedback.

What’s it saying?

The system seems to be producing well. My frustration is with the utilitybill. I have been on average billing for some time and have just about paid off my last winter extra usage. I am anticipating seeing smaller bills now but not sure that will happen. The utility bill takes an engineer to read and understand it. I almost think that’s the way they want it. I honestly have to just trust that I did the right thing because I can’t see it in my billing. If there is a tutorial on reading the bills produced by my power company in Colorado I for one would read it.

Worth the wait

Finally! Great job guys. This is beautiful. Finally get to see estimated KW generated during the day. We don’t have to wait until the next day to find out.
We have been waiting for this for a while. Simple and clean UI. Still super easy to use.

The new app

Sunrun is a vast improvement to the old one. We love that we don’t have to wait a day to see how much power our panels are generating. We check it every day and feel great that we are saving on our electricity.

Really Like This Sunrun App

One year after moving into our purchased home with a now four year-installed 36 panel this app solar system, I really like and appreciate Sunrun! It encourages me to keep the panels rinsed…so fun to watch the sun crank up the electricity. I like helping the environment and being a power baron! Thanks this app!!
