Must Have!!!

PocketPrep definitely helped me prepare for the NREMT Exam. I took my exam today and passed😅😅😅. I strongly recommend biting the bullet and buying the full version with 800 practice questions. It’s definitely worth the money and it helped me develop my test-taking strategies. However, a large portion of the questions on PocketPrep were situational which wasn’t the case on my exam. For example, a question on EMTPocketPrep might say (and i am totally making this question up) “A 30 year old female patient presents with a sudden onset of dyspnea. Her symptoms are blah blah blah, Hx of blah blah blah. Your first action should be...” and then you would have a series of answer choices. My test today, though, didn’t have a lot of those so don’t expect NREMT to be exactly like the questions on EMTPocketPrep. That said, PocketPrep is still a lifesaving app that I would swear by. I felt infinitely more prepared for my test today and I give the makers of EMTPocketPrep my deepest thanks!!! I’ll definitely be using PocketPrep for my NCLEX next year!!! The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 was because EMTPocketPrep starting glitching and crashing as I got closer to completing all the questions, but that’s just a minor issue that shouldn’t deter you from using EMTPocketPrep. Thank you, PocketPrep!!!

Thank you, Pocket Prep!

Took my NREMT Cognitive (Written) Test today and, while my stomach was in complete knots waiting for the results, I just found out that I passed and am now nationally registered. I just have to say, EMTPocketPrep is/was an absolute lifesaver. The question format is extremely similar to that of the official test, and you can't beat the explanations provided with each question. They even cited where the answers came from, which just happened to be from the same book and edition my class used. There are plenty of questions and they cover just about anything you might see on the test. I used EMTPocketPrep for about an hour every day for the week before my test, and it really helped with my confidence walking into the exam. That test is no joke, but if you are prepared, you can trust your gut. I definitely suggest using EMTPocketPrep to help keep your knowledge fresh between your course completion and your exam date. I would recommend EMTPocketPrep to anyone who is about to take the test. I'd also like to add that I did NOT experience any of the glitches that other reviewers mentioned. Thank you, thank you, thank you, EMT Pocket Prep.

Two words: Worth it

I did a ton of research on different study materials for the NREMT and this one was the best rated/reviewed. I started with the trial, then did the cheapest upgrade. I completed all questions a few weeks before my test so I decided to upgrade to Ultimate to get more practice. I truly believe EMTPocketPrep helped me pass the exam on my first try, getting cut off at question 70.
Disclaimer: these are not exactly the same questions you will get on the exam because it CAN’T be. However, the questions are built similarly to the registry’s questions and it will help you learn how to answer them. I have recommended EMTPocketPrep to all of the students who were in my class and highly recommend it for anyone who is taking it in the future. I will come back to EMTPocketPrep when I go to school for Paramedic. Thank you!

Extremely Helpful App!

I bought EMTPocketPrep about two weeks before taking the NREMT cognitive exam. I had taken the NREMT cognitive exam once before in 2012, but since then I had let it expire. I can tell you that buying the 800 question version of EMTPocketPrep helped me immensely with passing the exam. The scenario questions are good, and the explanations for each question are even better. Be sure you review these explanations thoroughly, because learning why you missed a question and what each answer option actually means is vital. In my opinion, the information from the explanations, including the explanations to the wrong answers, were more important than the questions themselves. This is because the questions I had on the NREMT cognitive exam were not very similar to the questions in EMTPocketPrep . Because of the difference in question structure, I rated EMTPocketPrep 4 out of 5 stars.

EMTPocketPrep, used in conjunction with an EMT book and possibly another review source will help you pass the NREMT without a doubt. Also, I didn’t experience any of the bugs that other people have been complaining about on my iPhone 7.

Love the app but has lots of technical bugs

As far as study tools go for EMT review, this is the best one by far. EMTPocketPrep features close to a thousand questions (if you get the premium version) with full breakdowns of every question with why the answer is correct as well as why the other options were incorrect. Definitely helpful and I feel much more confident in my knowledge due to EMTPocketPrep. The reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is due to the software being buggy. I’ve been logged out many times randomly and as of recently I have trouble with EMTPocketPrep being slow and freezing. In the exam builder portion I have troubles with the screen where you select which Units you will be quizzed on not loading properly and making it unable to choose any of the options and not allow me to take anything other than the Quick 10 exam. This problem only started in the past few weeks and I’ve had EMTPocketPrep for months. I hope this doesn’t turn anyone away because it’s a great tool but it’s been slightly buggy recently

Content is fantastic, app needs a little work

I have very much enjoyed the content of EMTPocketPrep, questions are situational and challenging and content is accurate. The exam builder option is great, seeing a percentage metric based on my responses is a wonderful tool. There are some extreme glitches within EMTPocketPrep that I’m hoping can be fixed whenever the next update becomes available. They’re pretty frustrating for paying $25 for EMTPocketPrep. Most of the time I have to close out and restart EMTPocketPrep to resolve the problem. When clicking on the “Quick Ten Exam” option I frequently get a error box that opens prompting me to either click OK or Refresh: “Cannot find Questions”. And I have trouble with the Question of the Day (QOTD) loading...I often get a dialog box that opens that says “Loading Question if the Day...” with a spinning circle of death above it that requires I close out and reopen EMTPocketPrep . On 2 occasions now, I have been prompted to enter my email and password as if I’m a new user(?) prior to loading all of my information. Exam readiness section worked the first day I downloaded EMTPocketPrep but not after that.

BUY IT, TRY IT, it’s WORTH IT!

This is probably the best budget friendly investment you could make in studying for the NREMT. With how fast paced and on the go life is, pocket prep offers a way to study on your electronic devices that will help improve your score and your knowledge of the material. It provides in depth explanations for answers, on why it is correct and to why it is wrong. I also love that it kept track of my progress and gave me an idea on what areas I needed to improve in and what areas I was strongest in. I also loved that the questions, scenarios, and explanations came from my EMT textbook, so I knew they weren’t just drawn out of a random generator. I can honestly say that this will help you pass with flying colors (Just took my test and passed) and with confidence!

I say BUY IT, TRY IT, and find that it is WORTH IT!

Wonderful App!

I took a hybrid course in 8 weeks for EMT. The material was very fast paced, and I passsd the initial course, but was grossly underprepared for the NREMT. I bought the full version of EMTPocketPrep after my first failure, and went through the set of 800 questions 4 times completely. I flagged the ones I got wrong, and reviewed them at the end. I ended the last time with an 87% overall.

I passed the second time and it cut off at 70! I credit it to the material in EMTPocketPrep . The questions are NOT phrased the same as the NREMT. Not directly anyway. However, almost all the material from the exam was covered in EMTPocketPrep! If you dedicate to studying and know why the questions are right or wrong, you will pass!

Good way to study. Buggy app though.

I’ve been using EMTPocketPrep for a while now. Overall it stays up to date with the latest information on the NREMT exam. My only complaint is that it will randomly crash on me when I try to start it up. Or it’ll be supper slow to load everything up. It’s also overheated my phone before when it was the only app running, and yes I restart my phone and I keep it updated. I have paid for the entire thing. Overalls it is a great app. I only gave it 3 stars because of how buggy it is. But if you are wanting to be an EMT I strongly suggest you download EMTPocketPrep . But be warned that there are sometimes where you will need to be “patient” with EMTPocketPrep. Yes that was me trying to make a medical pun... I’m aware that it was not funny. Good luck to those who also desire to be an EMT. :) Highkey use your book and people more though. They more helpful. But this isn’t bad either. :p

Great app when it works

I will start with the good. EMTPocketPrep has 800 questions that prepare you to take the NREMT and breaks it down into categories for you to study, which is great. You can track your progress, get the answers to questions with definitions of why you got it wrong. All that is great for an on the go study guide, BUT, and a HUGE but... EMTPocketPrep IS TOO UNSTABLE! For the amount of money you pay, I expect EMTPocketPrep to work flawlessly, or at least the majority of the time. I’ve had EMTPocketPrep one week and have had to uninstall and reinstall multiple times; my scores randomly reset; You randomly can’t use report builder, and scores for previous tests randomly disappear. Super frustrating, especially when you take your test in one more week and really are using this as a study tool! If the developers can fix the bugs, this would be a perfect app.

Good tool for NREMT Prep

The first time I took the EMT basic exam I failed 2 of the 5 sections. I then decided I needed to study for the exam ( I did this in the wrong order, don’t do what I did). I bought the full version of pocket prep and discovered after going through all 800 questions, that the course I took was way out of date and teaching incorrect methods. EMTPocketPrep helped me learn correct practices for the EMT exam and I passed the second time. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because EMTPocketPrep itself is slow to respond and crashes often. Also on my national exam there were ~8 questions on sickle cell anemia, which wasn’t covered in my class or this exam. All I knew about it was what I retained from 8th grade biology (very little). Overall, a very useful app that helped me get a PASS! Thanks pocket prep!

Helped me pass my NREMT

After taking my EMT course I had a waiting period of roughly a week and a half to obtain my course completion from my school due to the scheduling of my ambulance ride alongs. Sitting down going through my notes and going through my book were not really cutting it for me and I needed something more challenging to shake my brain back up to get back in to test taking mode. EMTPocketPrep really helped and the questions are pretty similar to the registry test. The price tag is a little hard to swallow for an app but not having to pay $80 to retest made it worth it and I have a resource I can continue to go back to to keep my skills up to par.

Be careful

I took the NREMT yesterday (Jan 5, 2019) and the questions in EMTPocketPrep are WAY easier than what you get on the real thing. It's still a helpful app but I highly recommend not to rely too much on it. I'd say, if you struggle with the questions in EMTPocketPrep then you're not ready for the NREMT. If you do well with the questions in EMTPocketPrep like me (i had consistent 90% averages) then you need to be cautious and continue being diligent with your studying!
What I really did NOT like about EMTPocketPrep is that the same questions repeated quite a bit, even questions I answered correctly from the get-go. (We're paying for the number of questions! Plus it wastes time)
What I DO like a lot about EMTPocketPrep are the explanations with detailed references (book, chapter, page). That way you can easily go back to the book and see for yourself what you missed.

Awesome App Awesome Customer Service

So I had purchased the premium version of EMTPocketPrep because I hear it is the best one out there and then my account wouldn’t let me upgrade and get the premium version benefits that I had already paid for with my credit card. I contacted app support (specifically Peter), and within a day he emailed me, and even after me not seeing it for a couple days, and then fixed the problem within literally a half hour of me contacting him back explaining my situation. Honestly shocked at this level of customer service in this day in age; aside from the high-quality content in EMTPocketPrep itself!!

Fully prepared - Passed my first try

Just wanted to write this on behalf of my personal experience with pocket prep. EMTPocketPrep helped me pass my national on my first try with absolute ease. The questions are worded almost identical to the national registry. My method for studying was that I initiated 100 question tests and wrote down the questions I missed so as to not forget them again. I learned what sections I needed the most work in and studied them in my book. This is a phenomenal app and I would highly recommend it for anyone aspiring to become an EMT and pass their National Registry first try. I will continue to use EMTPocketPrep to stay sharp in the future

Passed on first try

I got EMTPocketPrep as a cheap way to prepare for the NREMT. Studied all 800 questions over about two weeks and repeated some of them and reviewed what I got wrong. The explanation really help you learn and some of the questions were exactly the same as the ones on the exam. To relieve anyone a little bit about statistics and how you’re doing. I heard you need a 70% to pass. After 800 questions I averaged around a 71% on EMTPocketPrep (and I retook a few quizzes). Taking the actual exam, 82 questions and an hour later: I passed first try. EMTPocketPrep really does help if you’re willing to put a little bit of time into it!

PASS the registry with this app

EMTPocketPrep was a life saver for me! I didn’t pass the national registry the first time I took it. I found pocket prep as an alternative way to study and it is the best study app ever. I passed the second time I took the exam because of EMTPocketPrep. I highly recommend buying the full version of EMTPocketPrep . It comes with 800 practice questions very similar to the format of the actual exam and explains in detail the answer choices behind every question if you choose incorrectly. You can take small exams focusing on one or more subjects and EMTPocketPrep keeps your progress saved. The only reason I’m giving EMTPocketPrep a 4/5 stars is because it crashes occasionally.

Great way to stay on track with your studying!

I loved the reminder to study each day, and the 10-question quizzes were easy to do multiple times throughout the day! I downloaded EMTPocketPrep during the last month of my EMT course, and took the exam four weeks after finishing my class, which was yesterday. Got my results this morning, and passed on my first attempt! The 800 questions were a great way to identify my weak areas, and I used my text book to study more in those areas. EMTPocketPrep was a perfect compliment to the class and book! And very convenient to use!!!

Study hard, pass easily!!

I took an expedited course that was pretty intense as far as how fast things were taught. There was a lot of self study. A classmate suggested EMTPocketPrep and I got it. I like how it allows you to review the question whether you get it correct or wrong.
I ended up taking about 30 questions a day using the quick test button. That’s enough to get your brain working. The day before the NREMT I just stopped studying and cleared my head. I checked in to the testing center and passed the first time. I can say that EMTPocketPrep definitely gets you ready to pass.
Good luck!!

Passed:)

I never leave reviews for anything but EMTPocketPrep is truest worth every cent. Took the NREMT without studying and failed, so I bought EMTPocketPrep and the next time I passed:) Studied and practiced all 800 questions till I got them right. EMTPocketPrep was very helpful and it basically taught me all the vocab I needed to know - only downfall is that the format of the questions on NREMT are very different. EMTPocketPrep made me pass 100% but make sure you read tips on test taking skills for NREMT - questions can be very tricky. Key words are important and EMTPocketPrep covers all the info you need to know. I’m now going to purchase the NCLEX for RN app as well!!

I used this app for a few weeks before my exam. I did all 800 practice questions in addition to looking at the explanations and taking notes on the explanation as well. I felt really prepared for my exam, until it started...The exam questions were nothing like the pocketprep questions. Many times, the "correct" treatment wasn't even an option. The app prepares you for bottom line basics and may help you eliminate two of the 4 choices. The exam asked questions about certain things that weren't even mentioned in all of the 800 questions and weren't even emphasized in my class. I recommend going through your textbook, workbook, and maybe using this app in addition to other methods. I felt that I was not at all prepared. I haven't gotten my results yet, however, I am confident that I did not pass on this first attempt.
