HESI Reviews

I bought HESI and used it to prepare for the this app along with the Elsevier practice book. I felt so confident going into the test as I studied quite a bit and was getting in the 90s consistently in the bio and chem areas(I aced the other required areas and passed bio the first time in the high 80s). Took the test again this morning and did the science sections first. The practice questions for bio were in no way an indication of what would be on the test. I missed it by 3 points. Chem was slightly better; I passed, but did not do as well as expected. If the company that makes pocketprep also develops the exams, I don’t understand how there is such a discrepancy in what is covered. There were questions in both sections that were in no way touched upon. Super disappointed.

HESI is functional but not effective. The anatomy and physiology portion is NOTHING like what is on the this app. I took my this app today and thank god I retained my anatomy 1 and 2 classes because HESI did not help at all. The questions are not formed at all like they are on the real test and the information is much more specific than what is on HESI . The Vocab. and reading comp. portions were helpful but you can find the exact same information for free on a quizlet. One category for my this app wasn’t even on HESI . My advice is do not waste your money on this and if you do, don’t use this as your only study source. I used several different sources and managed to score a 92 cumulative on my this app but HESI did not help me. Also, HESI begins to crash heavily after a lot of data is stored in it. After I hit the 500 question mark HESI became very very slow.

SURE HESI crashes and isn’t developed to his greatest potential. But why critique it when it can literally GUIDE you into your future? Be appreciative that HESI is available in whichever form! Yes it has its tweaks but the content is there and worth it to bypass and pay that 15$. I agree it did help me for my math, vocab, reading, chem, and biology. However for the A&P there were about 2-3 questions on the test from HESI but everything else was derived elsewhere. It’s more specific on the test. I suggest going on google and actually typing out “ A&P this app practice tests “ and studying that way. It’s not super specific but more specific than the elsvier book and HESI.

I don’t usually write reviews but this is the first time I actually paid for an app, so I had to! I like how the material is presented and it’s definitely easy to use. Explanations are concise and very helpful. But unfortunately, HESI itself is problematic. It crashes constantly and doesn’t load your progress properly. I ended up using the website on my desktop for the most part, which defeats the purpose of getting HESI on my phone in the first place. Material wise it seems very good (will update once I take my exam on Thursday), but HESI itself needs work. UPDATE: I got an 87 on the overall exam. Vocab, grammar, reading comprehension and math are spot on. But Biology and A&P are NOTHING like the questions on HESI so be aware.

So, I only needed to take the Reading, Math, Biology, and Chemistry portions of the this app exam. HESI in conjunction with the this app prep book by Elsevier really helped me a lot. I ended up getting a 94.5 cumulative score. 100 on the Biology, 92 on the Chemistry, 96 on the math, and 90 on the reading.
That being said do not expect to see the questions on HESI on the exam. The exam tests your critical thinking so, HESI combined with the book gives you all the basic knowledge you need but, you need to apply that knowledge on the test. It is also important to note that if you took bio and chem (or whatever courses match with the exam sections you are taking) and then you study with the prep book and app, you should be fine. But, be warned the chemistry section was very random and the prep was only slightly helpful. I highly recommend going over the periodic table properties thoroughly. I knew the biology so well because I just took Microbio prior to the test and had a huge biology review in the course. The prep and app are GREAT for the math and reading though.
All the being said, I studied for only 2 weeks and got these scores so, this is a great resource!

Used HESI to help me prep for my this app exam for Nursing. I was really having a hard time with anatomy because the test would pull really random questions for just 30 questions on our exam. HESI helped to cover most of the different anatomy questions. Any questions I really had trouble with I just screenshot and memorized. Another suggestion: screen shot any questions you really had trouble with or had no idea what it was. Overall HESI was easy to use and helped me gauge which subject I had trouble with which was anatomy and Math. English and Vocab was also on my test and HESI helped since the physical prep book a friend gave me was pretty outdated and like 60% reliable when it came to Anatomy and Math...

I love HESI. I take my this app in a little over a week from now. HESI has helped me to study but it keeps on crashing. I’ll be in the middle of taking a practice quiz and it will just crash it of the blue and I’ll lose my progress. Other than that, HESI is a great study tool.

Update: I took my this app today and I passed with a 92 overall! Reading was an 88, grammar was a 90, math was a 94 (most similar to test), and A&P was a 96 (somewhat similar to the test). HESI definitely works😊😊😊

Overall, I love HESI. This was my only way of studying (along with a few other resources online) since I scheduled my exam too early before I could order a book to study by. I passed math with a B (the main thing I was worried about), and I feel that it was the most on point with the actual this app exam. However, the A&P I made a 72 on and the passing requirement is a 75. However, I do know that most colleges only require a 70, so if you’re in my position you will most likely pass! Once again, I love HESI. I do wish the A&P was a detailed as the exam though. Will definitely keep using it until my second exam day.

With the purchase of HESI , you’re given over a thousand practice problems that are very useful and give explanations for answers. I like how you can even create your own custom exams of up to 100 questions given any subject that you would expect on the this app as well. My only problem with HESI is that the screen would occasionally freeze, and I would constantly have to close and reopen HESI . Please fix this because it’s SUPER annoying.

The school I was applying for only tested on these 4 subjects to enter the program.
And I have to say that HESI is vital to passing the test. (Especially if you’ve been out of school for 2 decades or more!) Do yourself a favor and purchase HESI if your looking to pass the this app for a school that only test on these 4 subjects. You’ll pass, hands down! Sorry, didn’t have to take the other test so I don’t know. FYI

To be honest, I was hesitant to spend the money on HESI. I took the this app last month and while I did very well on most sections, I barely passed A&P.....75% was needed and I scored a 76%. You are allowed to take the exam twice for my school so I rescheduled and stumbled across pocket prep. Using HESI and only HESI, I went thru all 1,500+ questions over and over for about a month. Went in this week to retest and scored a 96%!!! Couldn’t be happier!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Passed my this app A2 today only using HESI. I feel like it prepared me enough to pass the exam with an 86.5! I only need a 75%. I underprepared for the grammar, vocab, and comprehension so that’s where I scored the lowest. The first time I took the this app i failed the chemistry part so thats what I focused on the most. HESI really does help you a lot. there were some questions on the actual this app that I did not see on HESI such as finding the right balanced equation for chemistry. Anyways its good

Used HESI religiously for about a month until it started to freeze on me. Fortunately I finished every question in the test banks before the freezing started to happen. Totally worth the money though, 90% on reading, 86% math, 86% grammar, and 86% on vocab! You will need the this app assessment version 4 for new vocab words! Use the book and HESI and you'll be fine! Do the reading test first so you're awake for it and your brain hasn't been fried from math and grammar!

So far I’ve been studying for 3 days from the in app purchase (which I also highly recommend) and it’s been amazing! At first I was freaking out because I had no clue (for the most part) what the answers were. I kept studying even though I felt discouraged. I studied the explanation(which they also provide) and now I’m scoring 85-91 average on the this app practice exams. So happy I stumbled across HESI. It’s not only a refresher but also gives me confidence and hope for the real thing.

Thank you thank you!!! HESI was so helpful in helping me pass along with other materials and classes! Best $14 I have ever spent. I took this test back in January and that was a mess, I studied with this program more and wrote down the notes from questions I got wrong and it taught me so much more. I felt so much better walking into this test than I did the first time and it showed!!!

The sections covered on my exam were math, reading, and AP. Is only used HESI for AP along with finishing AP2, this app help books, and anatomy books. Lots of hard work but it paid off!

I took the this app a total of two times. The first time I took the exam I was not prepared at all. Here are my scores the first time:

I needed an 80% to get into my schools nursing program and to see these scores really was painful. So I had a second opportunity to take this exam and it was my final shot. I only had to retake math, vocab, and A&P. I used HESI, plus a very special quizlet (this app A2 prep saint Thomas, ask to join) and the cliff notes quick guide for anatomy book plus a dash of crash course videos and as a result got
Math: 90
Vocab:94
A&P:100
HESI alone or any of the things I mentioned alone will not help you but them combined will guarantee you get high scores. HESI truly primed me on how to prepare for the exam and refreshed a lot of material I hadn’t seen. I will always recommend HESI in conjunction with other study materials to future pre nursing students.

I don’t typically write reviews, but I have to say I am extremely impressed with HESI . I only had to take the math and English composite parts of the this app A2, but with that being said I was able to score 100 on all sections. This is a wonderful way to review for the this app A2. I bought the lifetime access because it really isn’t expensive when you consider that buying a physical book would cost nearly the same. I like using the iPhone app, but I will say I found myself using the computer version more (it’s included!). I highly recommend HESI to all future nurses!

I really loved using HESI to review for the this app 2A. I focused on just answering these questions and looking at the answer explanations they provide then supplementing my reading with my own old text books or online searches. I was able to get a cumulative score of 92.4% after studying for about a month and a half (while working and taking classes).

HESI was really helpful because If I wanted to really sit down I could use the platform on the computer or if I was commuting I used it on my phone.

Love it so much that I am using their TEAS reviewer as well currently.

The program I’m applying to only requires the math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary sections of the this app. I used the Elsevier book to review (hadn’t had a math class since...let’s just say it’s been a long time) and purchased HESI to practice. I went all in and bought the Cadillac version with tons of questions and don’t regret it for a second. Between the book and HESI I scored a 99% cumulative on my this app.
Pocket Prep has been my constant companion since I registered to take my exam a few months ago and I’m a little sad to delete it from my phone, but I owe it a debt of gratitude. That’ll do, app. That’ll do.

I highly recommend HESI for this app A2 prep. I exclusively used HESI to study and I scored an average of 93.5. My highest score was in vocab, 98, and lowest in reading was 90. My A&P was 92, math 94. I may have studied a total of 4 hours. Because of my score I was chosen for an interview and continue the process of applying. If you have to take the test you have to try HESI. I downloaded it but didn’t pay for the upgrade until closer to my test. I used the version that only lasts for a certain amount of time. I don’t remember the details. Good luck!
