Samsung SMART CAMERA App Reviews

Ok, I so I use both Samsung gear, NX series DSLR and their Galaxy 2 cameras. Have their 12” and 8” tablets w pens. Then I also have the old Note 3 which is a backup ph. However ai primarily use iPad Pro’s 12 and 10 and my daily IPhone 8 along w a Nikon and Canon DSLR. THOUGHT wouldn’t it be cool to have SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp to automatically load photos onto my iPad or even my phone when I’m doing travel shoots. I can sync w Bluetooth to my galaxy gear and I believe a cloud. But this would have been so nice IF IT WORKED!

Now bottom line.... doesn’t even LOAD! I had to crack up laughing! After a good laugh I realized that if this where my company and something with my name on it performed as problematic as this, whoever was responsible would truly be fired. To think it doesn’t reflect poorly is a real lack of good common business sense. Of course it does! Not as much on end of Apple as it does with Samsung!

This is a real embarrassment to Samsung if they can’t see that, they need some changes. Man the growth potential of this had it been launched correctly! A little imagination goes along way! This was a bomb explosion in the face of Samsung. Fire the idiot who allows SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp to ever see the light of day!

Since iOS 13...I can no longer use my trusted WB800F WiFi Camera. I really liked the WiFi connection my Samsung had through this camera app to transfer pictures and videos to iPAD, I EVEN BOUGHT A SECOND WB800 F and gave my first one to my daughter! We travel extensively and there are always hundreds and hundreds of pix and vids to transfer and edit, but now these cameras are useless UNTIL THIS CAMERA APP IS UPDATED. As a Samsung loyalty customer—our TV is also SAMSUNG! —I am now losing hope in Samsung, if they choose to throw their good customers “ under the bus” and drop their support to the WiFi transfer app. PLEASE UPDATE!

Awesome! awesome! Awesome! This is a FANTASTIC camera app. It is loaded with features. Thank you, Samsung for fixing the incompatibility issue with iOS 8. My faith in Samsung has been restored. SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp, together with my Samsung WB800F is an engineering feat of technology and so much fun to use. I can't say enough about this feature-loaded camera when paired through this camera app.

I usually don’t write reviews for apps or much of anything but I’m just so upset with SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp and Samsung. Ever since updating my iphone past ios 11, I have not been able to transfer any photos from my Samsung smart camera to my iphone or any other device. It is extremely frustrating as I have over 500 photos I would have liked to edit and print. I spent so much time trying to transfer them via usd and wifi but no luck. As the other comments say they have tried sim card and sd card transfers and no luck. I’m honestly so upset and not sure what to do next because it doesn’t seem like the creators of SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp will ever update it again to be able to work for iphone users past ios 11, which in 2022 is so extremely rare if there are any at all. If you see this before purchasing a Samsung camera, keep this in mind for methods of transfer.

The only reason I gave SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp a one star rating is because I don’t have an option to give it a lesser rating. It worked fine at first but it doesn’t any longer because Samsung won’t upgrade SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp or create a new one that supports iPhone upgrades above iOS 11.

“Create it and Forget it“ must be their motto because they do nothing to keep their customers satisfied. This feature is one of the reasons why I purchased my expensive Samsung camera. Takes great photos but if I can’t use SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp , it’s pretty much useless. I used to have a Samsung smart phone, but I had problems with it and had to switch to Apple because I can’t afford to keep purchasing new phones every year. Better to pay the extra money for Apple because it lasts longer and they actually stand behind their products.

“FYI Samsung, if you want to try to keep up with Apple, it would be a good idea to keep Apple customers happy as well as your own!!!!”

This will be my last Samsung purchase because it’s quite obvious they don’t care about their customers or even their own reputation because I’m seeing tons of bad reviews regarding SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp and other Samsung products that prove this theory.

I had my fingers crossed when I seen the update. And just like I thought, they still can’t get it right. SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp is worthless on any apple device. It takes a few steps of going back and forth between devices to connect. Once it connects, it will take pictures, but if you try to zoom in, it immediately crashes. It just reminds me of why everyone I know only use apple. After 8 years of leaving Samsung/android products, I know I made the right choice. Samsung products were worthless then and still are today. Samsung app developers, please stay working for Samsung. Don’t ever come over to Apple.

Shame on you Samsung. Two years ago (today is September 2018) SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp worked flawlessly. (I’m using the iPhone 6 and NX300The latest update is so bad. I used to be able to do all the tasks in the WiFi feature. Now, I can only use “Remote Viewfinder” (self-explanatory) and “auto-share” which allows you to immediately send a captured photo directly to your phone after the shot has been taken. Don’t let your phone time out or the camera time out, or you will have to reconnect your camera and phone again, from the beginning.

Extremely disappointed in SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp. Haven’t used my camera in a while, only to find out it’s no longer compatible with my iPhone version. Why have SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp if you’re not going to keep up with the software to be able to benefit the consumers of the product. This camera was a waste of money.

SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp was great before I updated my phone. Hadn’t used the camera in a while so I took it out and took some cute pictures of my dog but now I have to take them off the SIM card and put them on a laptop and send them to myself to get them into my phone which is really dumb. There needs to be an update or new app to use this with as it takes way longer to connect the SIM card to the computer and do it that way than it does to send them through my phone.

Why would Apple have an app that is not compatible with my Samsung NX300? When I had a Samsung phone it was perfect for transferring pictures to my phone for sharing my sessions with clients via Facebook etc. I have tried SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp several times and it just doesn’t work. If you could somehow fix this I would be so grateful. I’m growling increasingly frustrated with Apple. If my whole family didn’t own an iPhone, I would go back to Samsung!

SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp got stuck in the network settings. There’s no way to connect to the network even though you chose the connection stated on the camera itself. I noticed that the last update on this was 3y ago from today Nov2021. Probably a discontinued app no longer being serviced. It’s too bad.
I love my camera and it still work but the Wi-Fi feature never worked for me because SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp never worked the way it’s supposed to.

I bought an NX300 and regret it. It was an expensive camera at the time and WiFi connectivity was relatively new. At the time the camera always connected immediately to my iPhone without issue. I used the remote feature constantly. Now I’m lucky if I get my phone to connect to SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp at all, and even when I do the remote capture feature doesn’t work at all. It makes my camera freeze and the image isn’t mirrored on my phone. What a disaster.

A few years ago, I bought the Samsung NX300 and have loved the wi-fi feature to transfer my photos seamlessly to my iPad or iPhone. Recently I decided to buy the NX Mini that is supposed to have the same feature but the mobile app doesn’t work anymore. I know Samsung has discontinued making cameras but they should at least continue to support SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp for their customers who spent a lot of money on them.

SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp was basic at best but with each Apple update, it becomes more and more useless. First it was difficult to connect to my WIFI network or even my phones hotspot, now the camera will attempt to transfer my photos and says “Transfer complete” but nothing shows up on my phone. Very disappointed to have bought a relatively expensive camera for these features that gradually stop working. Please update SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp!

SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp had issues since beginning. It was always hard to connect my smart camera to iPhone. Couple years this function doesn’t work at all. I bought Samsung camera because of features to control it from my phone through WiFi . Thats why I choose your product all over another. Although I cannot use this function! I’m so disappointed with Samsung.

I have an iPhone 6s and it connects perfectly fine to the camera but when I go to download the images, I have to wait at least 5 minutes for them to download. That isn’t why I’m mad. I’m mad because I can’t find my photos or videos ANYWHERE on my iPhone. WHAT THE HECK! I sat here for 45 minutes waiting for a video to download and it didn’t even go into my camera roll. Trash app.

Update: So I was excited to see that there was finally a new update after 2 years, supposedly compatible with iOS 10. Well the ViewFinder and AutoShare work better when I try to use the mobile link SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp continues to crash. Good update but still needs some work.

Original: Worked great a few months ago, now whenever I try to connect it to my camera it crashes, so inconvenient. Please fix!

Not sure why there’s such negative reviews. I use this to send pics from my NX3000 to my iPhone after I take them (I’m a professional photographer) and they transfer over in good time and in full quality

Honestly at first SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp wouldn’t let me open I but after a day it was working completely fine and I got all of my pictures and videos on my phone! It’s a really good app and I really suggest it!

This camera takes fantastic wonderful amazing incredible images do not provide support for the new operating system is terrible god awful. Again the camera is excellent SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp still works ya 😀

Honestly, SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp works exactly as I expected, and as it has been advertised to, overall. There are some things I would like to see in the future is possible, such as an automatic connection to the camera via WiFi (since the NFC chip seems to be reserved for Apple Pay now), but these do not necessarily impede the functionality of SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp .

It’s been a year, and thought I would try again. Camera has sat in a drawer. Still unable to connect the camera to the iPad using SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp , WiFi, Bluetooth or camera adapter. Chatted with Samsung tech and told the only way to connect is Bluetooth. Still doe not connect. Then told it isn’t compatible with Apple. Useless app and camera for me. I know it isn’t an Apple product, but why have an app for it?

This is my first review, but I felt strongly enough about the poor performance of SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp to write one. I have the samsung ek-gc200 camera. I also use an iPad Pro. Unable to get my pictures onto the pro. I bought the micro to sd card camera reader, and nothing. I downloaded SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp, and just continues to tell me to connect to the cameras WiFi network (no network detected). I just chatted with Samsung tech, and the results were not good. I was told that SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp is not compatible with apple. What? I downloaded SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp via Apple App Store onto my iPad Pro. How can it not be compatible with Apple. Then I was told I just have to wait for an update to SamsungSMARTCAMERAApp , making my Samsung camera useless. I have a Kodak camera that does just fine. No problems using the card reader to download. Not an Apple issue, not a Kodak issue, strictly Samsung. Very disappointed.

I have had my camera connected to my iPhone for the longest time and now it will not work at all. I can’t get it to connect. I don’t understand why it stopped working.

I have tried all that I know to try to get it to work and can not figure it out. I even tried it on my wife’s phone also when it was connected to hers also.
