Where are all the new and current reviews for GreenBooks?
I want to really like GreenBooks, but it’s missing a few key features. Example: How do you keep track of your checking account when you don’t have a entry location for the check number. Be nice to have options to change icons for bank types. I’m not very fond of the pig for my savings account.
Needs a few enhancements to be better.
I rely on GreenBooks daily to keep track of my accounts. I love GreenBooks does not connect to my bank accounts and that I have control to flag upcoming payments or deposits. I keep a running list all of my accounts - checking, savings, credit, HSA-all in one spot so I can quickly view when I need to.
I like the simple design and that I can add details and categorize my debits/credits. Plus I like the addition of weekly, monthly and yearly report function.
This is a solid app that gets the job done and doesn’t have unnecessary flashy interface. I’m glad I found it.
I really like that I can use this across my phone and computer. It’s simple to learn and works well (something I’ve learned not to assume or undervalue). It doesn’t have bells and whistles, but I neither need nor want those. And best was no subscription or upsell. Buy it once and use it.
Great way to keep track of your expenses and really see where your money is going. Gives you a clear perspective on your personal / business finance.

I used to track expenses on Numbers/Excel but using a phone was sometimes easier and faster. The great part is the phone app has virtually all the same features as the desktop!
I am a bookkeeper by trade and love GreenBooks for all my credit card accounts and bank accounts. I’ve never had any delays or problems with GreenBooks. I recommend it and guarantee you will be happy with it.
I have tried several financial apps over the years. No doubt this is the best yet. Very user friendly and completes all the tasks I require. Best part is it connects to all of my device, Mac Air, iPad and iPhone.
I have tried every other (ok, almost) finance apps on GreenBooks Store, and none of them had the simplicity and design of this app. The developer is super helpful in addressing my small problems. If you are looking for an app to help you keep your spending under control. This is the one !
It is a great. my only wish is if they would change the date that includes the fourth Wednesday of the month that’s when I get paid and I have to keep changing the date for every month. Maybe y’all will update that change for us retirees. Thank you.
I’ve been using this app daily for about a year now, and it’s been solid and reliable. The interface and feature set is straightforward and does just what I need. Scheduled transactions are particularly helpful, as is the syncing through iCloud. this app fits my needs perfectly.
I’ve been using checkbook. It didn’t have the ability to split categories in the transaction. this app has this feature. So far, I’m loving it. It will definitely help me track my spending in Walmart (so many categories on one receipt). I didn’t need all of the bells and whistles with the bigger bookkeeping applications. Just a check register that splits categories of each transaction.
After using the free version for a week or two, I purchased the unlimited version. Not had any issues. It does exactly what I expect. Highly recommend.
Love the interface and simplicity. Helps me keep track of income/expenses easily. Provides reports and the ability to import bank statements via vcf. Other formats are available. The only thing on the wish list would be a search field within reports. Thanks you!
this app is a simple, easy to use way of keeping track of household spending. The typical user will find this tool invaluable for monitoring and controlling their expenses and establishing a budget. I would not recommend it for small business owners. They would be better served by an application that uses double entry.
Simply said .... by far this is the most effective and simple yet accurate check book, savings etc app I have ever used. Other apps focus too much on many features that are really not needed. This is my daily “to go app” definitely a must have! No subscriptions fees, and excellent cloud interface between devices and security features.
I don’t want to use the janky website of my bank to categorize expenses. this app does just what I need - get my transactions from my bank, and let me categorize and note what they are. Let’s me see where my money is being spent, and makes it easy to make changes to the names the transactions come from my bank with. The developer is very responsive to any issues you may have, as well.
I had been using a spreadsheet as an account register, an app as an expense tracker, and another app as a bill reminder. this app combines all three in a simple, user friendly application. I like that you do not have to create an account, the developer does not collect personal information, and there isn't a subscription. I think the one time $9.99 purchase price is very reasonable considering how useful GreenBooks is.

I downloaded the Mac OS version and IOS version to my iMac and iPhones. I explored and experimented with the features for a couple weeks with various Transactions that I would need to use. For the price it does pretty good for a solid personal Money Manager between all my devices thru the iCloud. I went ahead and purchased GreenBooks for all my devices. However, it could use a few iOS enhancements as follows:
It would be nice to be able to edit a list of Payee’s to Add, Change, or Delete like you can the Categories’. This would apply to the Mac OS as well
It would be nice for a Transaction input field to capture a reference such as a Check#, or if a Card, ATM, Teller, or Online purchase was used. This would apply to the Mac OS as well
Should have a Backup feature similar to what Money Pro has. This would apply to the Mac OS as well.
I’ve been using this app for a while now, and it’s my favorite budgeting app. I’ve tried ALL of them over the years, but they all try to add so many extra features and charge so much money for them… I mean, come on! I’m using a budget app to help myself SAVE money… why do people pay huge subscription fees for this stuff??
this app is very simple, inexpensive, and does exactly what you need. Nothing more, nothing less. If you connect to the desktop version (I recommend it!) you can sync purchases as well.
