I’ve actually been trying to chill myself before writing this review, because I don’t want my rage to confuse others. The simple fact for me is that, I trusted this app, but their terrible service caused me not only anxiety, but also economical lost.

Before I left U.S. for China, I checked different VPN companies, because I know that Chinese Fire Wall would cause me lost connection with the world outside. this app advertises itself, saying it has a team consistently working on breaking the Chinese Fire Wall, so I payed for a year’s service. However, the truth is that their servers do not response most of the time, and my MacBook this app does not even try to connect when I click the “Connect” button! I could not check my gmail, or my Messenger, which fact made me almost isolated from my friends and colleagues outside of China for two weeks until a friend in China helped me find another VPN service, free to use and much more reliable. During which time, I lost a check sent from the U.S. due to the fact that I could not update my address in China.

I really hope that no one else would fall into such terrible situation as I did. Please reconsider if you are planning to use this app for serious reasons. And do not pay them anything! Since I just learned that there are other VPN services that are free to use, and that, more importantly, really work!

Firstly when I got VyprVPN , I was not able to connect with it at all. Even when I was using the paid features it did not allow me to connect to any network that I normally would be able to on any of my other devices. On top of that VyprVPN would automatically connect me to the vpn whenever I connected to a different wifi and when it did that, I wasn't able to use that wifi until I went into VyprVPN to turn it off. It also would not let me tap the vpn off slider in the settings to turn it off, as I said before I had to go into VyprVPN and turn it off, on top of all that today I had an experience where it showed a random phone notification asking for my password. When I tried to hit cancel the notification opened up again and it would not stop, making my iPhone completely unable to use. I tried rebooting it and it still showed up. I had to quickly delete VyprVPN in the .5 seconds that I had between when I hit cancel and when it opened again. DO NOT DOWNLOAD VyprVPN. I've never reviewed an app before because I've never felt such a hatred or liking to any other app OTHER THAN THIS ONE. However if you are considering using vypr for your computer I wouldn't hesitate it's a great vpn but again, do not download VyprVPN

I’ve had this application for about 3+ years. It worked well, but can be slow. It started having problems in February where it would stop working. You had to disconnect and reconnect about every 15-30 minutes. This happens on multiple newer iPhones, XS Max and iPads. I’ve tried to get help from technical support. They have you try every conceivable configuration setting. Nothing they recommend works. Now they just want to close the ticket. They email me that without responding to them within two days they will close the ticket. They don’t care about fixing the problem, just closing the ticket. I’ve noticed other reviews note similar problems with the application and the company response is to contact customer service. If you do, you will be treated to a process that wastes your time, and includes not reading your comments and asking you to do everything you told them you already did. After retest, documenting and emailing, they want you to just go away when the application doesn’t work. Btw... don’t expect any money back if you cancel, and cancelling has its own challenges. I’d recommend using a different vpn provider.

I've always worried about my personal information being hacked so when I first heard about a vpn connection being The next best thing to lifelock security. I rushed right to the Internet to find one that would suit my needs as well as economically suitable. Not
Only is VyprVPN affordable and makes my knees, it's got features that will allow you to connect on demand which simply means every time connect to the Internet or to your banking site or website that would display your personal information, this VPN connection with automatically connect. There is a B settings that will allow you to see and get information from other countries that you will not be able to get with a regular and the connection.
Vyper is the word for me and I'm sure he would like it also.

If you have a subscription and already paid for the subscription for a year then cancel subscription (so it doesn’t auto renew) they will delete your account without refund.

Not sure if this happened to anybody else or just me and if so I don’t know why. I’ve been using this vpn for months with no problem, paid for a year subscription and my account somehow got “deleted”. I was still logged in to my account just nothing worked so I contacted support and they said it got deleted and no way to regain access to it. I had to sign up and make a new account. Try to make a new account I have to BUY IT AGAIN!! My previous purchase does NOT carry forward because my other account that I bought is linked to my Apple ID. They want me to buy it again!! I still have 10 months left on my subscription!!!! Soooo angry! They can’t even tell me how my account got “deleted”!!

Update: Made new account, got charged another full year and cannot log in to the new account because I have an account linked to my Apple ID already. So done with VyprVPN.

Works well. Protects you while you are online. Will reconnect if internet disconnects provided you tell it to. Price is reasonable and great if you pick the basic plan. The basic plan provides protection for up to three devices. The full plan gives you protection for up to five devices and provides more options. If you regularly connect to an unsecured network you can tell the vpn to always auto connect for that network. Recently this vpn has been inhanced. The speed has been approved. Overall you will not be disappointed with this vpn. Very functional and makes your internet experience safe from tracking and from those seeking to know your business online.

VyprVPN USED TO BE GREAT now it’s a barely usable annoyance at best. customer support was initially quasi-helpful BUT ultimately gave NO HELP AND CONNECTIVITY ISSUES WERE NEVER RESOLVED. see other 1 star reviews. this has been ongoing for the better part of 8 months. 8 MONTHS OF NO SUPPORT?! now i just get ignored and do not even get a response from support. NOTHING. not even a BS “we are aware and working on it “. NO RESPONSE FOR A PAYING PREMIUM LEVEL CUSTOMER?! i work in IT and VyprVPN AND customer support are useless and a terrible business model. not axe grinding just feeling taken advantage of. what am i/we paying for?!?

further, in a tragic comedy fashion, immediately after i log a ticket, VyprVPN works for a few minutes and then a pop up appears ASKING FOR A REVIEW?!!? are you guys high?! fix VyprVPN on macOS and iOS or get off VyprVPN store and stop fleecing customers. ZERO stars if i could. maybe 1 star IF i received some explanation. ultimately, i feel ripped off. kinda sorry for the negative review but to everyone reading this BEWARE.

After my own research and talking with a pen tester, it confirmed for me that this is a far better choice because of the Zero Log’s Policy and it’s also located in a Country my Government can’t monitor very easily, if at all? During the past 2 years of experience with them, I learned that the majority of my Customer Support came through the Application itself and my E-mail. I had a problem recently when the Application ran even when my devices were turned off and still draining my battery. I deleted and downloaded the Application again. Problem solved! The GUI in my experience is common sense, even for me who will soon be 65!!!

This is the real deal and have known it to be reliable and any issues easily resolved with Tech Support people. Bravo 5 years ago and even more so now! Well I have nothing to say differently than before. As of July 19 and this app is well serviced and reliable. This is a must have app! Thank to the Developers and the Tech Support staff. Bravo

Dec ‘21’ and I have nothing but accolades for this app. I stay with the service because they really do value your privacy. The service is reliable, updated, and functions as advertised! It just works.

Still with fatal bugs. I paid and got lots of problems and unstable connections. Every time when VyprVPN begins to make a VPN connection, it will firstly cut all your internet connection including WiFi and cellular network, and makes a long waiting before successfully connected. After this update, if you’re not lucky enough VyprVPN will remain a permanent “disconnecting” when it fails to connect to a sever, and your internet connections will also be permanently cut down even you restart your iPhone unless you delete VyprVPN. Btw VyprVPN doesn’t reconnect well, every time you unlock your iPhone, VyprVPN remains “connecting”... As a customer who admire your efforts to achieve a safe and open internet, I really hope you can solve these problems, so I give you 3 stars instead of 1.

The apps on iPhone and iPad have been trouble-free, though the time to establish a VPN connection is slower than the other VPN apps that I am trying out. However, the desktop version has been problematic on two different Mac laptops. The website has a page to address “General MacOS connection troubleshooting,” but none of those procedures helped. The website also says that there is a major upgrade in progress that may cause short disconnects. Perhaps my laptop issues could resolved through the website’s online Support Request, but I’ve nearly used up all three days of the trial subscription period, and there are other VPN clients that have worked from the start.

Been with this app for 4 years now. I’ve never had another VPN! Reliable, trustworthy, safe and they are at the front of this industry from top to bottom. They are more concerned with internet privacy than any company I have ever seen! They are concerned about the environment as well! (Golden frog) They share what’s new and ground breaking with us. And their security upgrades are always newer and better and ahead of everyone else! They always ask us what we think of New security feature ideas. Well worth the money 💵 for PRO package. I highly recommend!

I have been using this security system for all my personal business and travel in and out of Mexico constantly and never have a worry about being victimized on line to banks etc
I have tried quite a few others security programs but never felt quite secure until I tried this app and after a few months I felt very very comfortable recommending the GOLD FROG ! I signed up for this, naively thinking that their “money back guarantee” meant that they’d implement a free trial system before charging me. They do not. They charge your card immediately, then take possibly up to a week to issue a refund. This is absurd.

It’s worth noting that their proxies have been blacklisted by netflix - at least, the ones I tested didn’t work. This isn’t entirely their fault, but I can’t excuse the lack of a trial. Also, their customer service person was pretty snotty and unpleasant, and didn’t it clear that I had been charged at all (or that I needed to request a refund explicitly), until I pressed the issue.

All in all, a shady and unprofessional experience.

I did a lot of research into VPN providers for my Mac. Was glad that the iOS app is just as great as the desktop app.

Took to an Apple Store and they couldn't even get the phone to release diagnostic info because the VPN was denying the tool they use to get access to the phone. They tried manually turning it off in settings but it kept reconnecting each time and refused to turn off (that's the auto reconnect feature in the VyperVpn app).

Really love VyprVPN. Found out you can use a VPN when on cellular as well!! Did not know that. Pretty cool.

I have to uninstall and reinstall VyprVPN more than any other app I have ever purchased. Literally hundreds of apps. Lately it has gotten, if possible, worse.

Despite multiple requests for help (and silence), it keeps hanging or being very slow with connection. The problem is that while it's doing that, no traffic in or out until VyprVPN starts behaving - if ever. It has hung for hours multiple times. Until it works right, nothing comes in or out. No messages, email, internet, home control, streaming music - nothing. I can't keep restarting my phone and uninstalling/reinstalling/re-logging in every time I wake my phone from sleep mode and check for messages. I want to love this service and app, but you're killing me Vypr.

The service has been fairly fast and consistent - some minor connection hiccups, but that’s to be expected with any VPN. Golden Frog seems to be a reputable, transparent, & trustworthy company, a major plus many competitors lack.

The only recurring issue I’ve had is an issue with IKEv2 connectivity - when I have protocol set to IKEv2 and attempt connecting to the US Washington server, VyprVPN gets stuck on establishing tunnel and never actually connects; canceling the connection and switching the protocol to WireGuard fixes this though and connections resume quickly with stellar server speeds.

Very simple and easy to understand GUI. Multiple protocols like OpenVPN 256bit or PPTP etc.... This VPN hardly has any bugs, I've been using this VPN for months now and I've never been unable to connect, and I've never experienced slow connection and I've never been disconnected. Vypr also has in option to cut connection if you get disconnected from the VPN. They have many countries and locations to connect to. Every time you connect you are put on a different IP address. I've never felt more secure after purchasing Vypr!

Easy to use, doesn't slow speeds very much (10% at the most...usually less). I ran a battery of security and dns leak tests, this app passed all of them with flying colors. I did contact support once (email) with a question, they replied with a complete answer in less than an hour. I can't find a negative about them. Best part...they OWN their servers, they don't lease space on someone else's equipment...that's very rare in the VPN market and critical for privacy.

I've had VyprVPN for a long time and found it to be reliable until recently. As others have e noted, here are times when it will either take a very long time to connect, or where it just gets stuck. I then. Have to exit VyprVPN , turn off wifi or the cellular signal, then start over. This almost always happens when resuming from locked mode.

Very frustrating because it used to work so well, I never had to think about-- it was so easy I installed it on my family's phones (I have the 4 connection account). However, because of he problems connecting, it either just flat out doesn't work, or it switches off wifi and connects on cellular. My daughter didn't realize this and this last month we had overages on cellular data because she thought she was on wifi, but VyprVPN got stuck on "Disconnecting" and was on cellular...

It's gotten to the point that I'm shopping around for other VPNs. Too bad too, because when connected, Vypr is first rate.

Long time user but at some point the software stopped working with iMac and mac book pro. Contacted technical support several times. I was told they are "aware and fixing the problem", well that's been a good long while. I'm at the point now I have to reboot in order to use the VPN. The IOS phone softy became buggy also. This isn't an apple issue it's gone on way to long, putting in tickets and getting nothing. No trouble shooting just delete and reinstall? That's not the problem. Previously this was the top of the line VPN in my opinion don't know what happened. No doubt time to get a new VPN.

The software has been updated!! Works very well now thank you for listening and responding to software issues. The mac and ios software are faster more servers it seems and the other issues have been resolved.
