Great Idea, Poor Execution

This was originally recommended as an emergency warning system. It has my location (exact address). It has a loud warning signal when a message is sent. All good so far. In the approximately 3 years that I’ve had it I’ve received several alerts that didn’t pertain to me. I received an immediate evacuation alert at 2am that was a mistake, fortunately my wife called to verify the accuracy of the alert.
Now, along with emergency alerts I have started getting warnings. Last night I was woken at 10:20pm with a warning that rain was detected and could result in a debris flow. Then at 10:50pm I was awoken agin to receive the same warning in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish. It wasn’t even rainy at the time that I received this “emergency” warning. This possible debris flow had been discussed on the local news for two days thus I didn’t need to be woken twice on a week night with this information. I don’t understand why they can’t send the warning in English and Spanish at the same time.
I will be cancelling this service and don’t recommend it.

User-hating software

Was sent here by my county health department to register for alerts on CV19 vaccine distribution. I wasn’t told that I must download an app. The registration process is dismal, and NEVER was confirmed as being completed. I did every single thing that was asked of me, only to find that when I agreed to accept their terms of use (after acct/login info was entered), there was no further action of ANY kind available. The end results are just another ten minutes of my life wasted, another useless app loaded on my phone, my email info in the wind with a failed app developer, and now I’m another day further from inoculation (my wife is in a high risk category, and already inoculated).

At one point, I was able to determine from a map, that there is something health related which is happening approximately 1300 miles away, but I don’t know what it might be.

The county is probably going to regret sending me here when their offices open tomorrow morning. This was supposed to be a simple registration for vaccine availability alerts. Before the maker replies to this review with “you did it wrong”, I want to know where their help was when I was struggling to set this up! If setup help is available at all, it is obscure.

Not as helpful as nixle texts

I admit I’ve only used it for three days, but the nixle texts that I’ve gotten have been much more helpful. Everbridge opens to the map and requires that I allow it to know my location all the time in order for that map to be any use. I would rather not give it that permission. So I signed up for the alerts like I had via text. It still opens to the map, even though I’m not sharing my location. I am not getting the same alerts as I was on text, have had to use both text and app (how can I get a text for Anchorage Water, but not be able to find it anywhere in Everbridge ?). My employer uses this app; couldn’t find them on Everbridge at all either. I gave up. Hoping texts will work again now that I deleted it.

Completely useless, could get you killed.

It’s wildfire season up here. We get evacuated all the time. Alerts get to us in every way BUT Everbridge. Email directly from the OES? Sure. Texts from Nixle? You got it. Watching the police and fire departments on Twitter? All day and all night. This junk? Silent as a mouse. Yes, I created an account, allowed notifications, subscribed to every available service for my location, connected my Nixle account (same company,) the whole shebamg.

Given that this is meant to be a literal lifeline for people in their most dire hour of need, that silence is downright dangerous. Seconds count. Push notifications exist and people’s mental models are tuned to expect them. Providing them an app that claims they’ll get push notifications about events that might literally decide if they live or die, then just... never sending any data? Irresponsible. Deleting this, and will keep relying on more traditional means.

Could not login and no support

I registered an account on the this app website but was unable to log i to Everbridge with the same credentials and when I tried to make a new account through Everbridge it prevented me from doing so because an account already existed. Help files only point to maybe not needing an account but when I select my local agency (NOCOAlert) it required me to either login or create an account. Big bug that just takes me in circles. No way to contact support. For such an important service it is surprising that the most basic step cannot be completed.

I think I’ll still receive notifications as Im registered through the website but I’m not sure if that will be specific to my registered home address or to my current location. I wanted this service as I travel frequently and would like my alerts to be relevant to where I am. Bummer.

Useless for monitoring for friends and family danger zones

I wanted to be able to monitor fires near friends, but it doesn’t show incidents on the map unless you enroll personally. I don’t want notifications for where I am. I want to see them for my friends who can’t get a strong enough cell signal to get internet information. Why can’t Everbridge do that like other services? Deleting, since my community doesn’t use this notification service, and I can’t check info for friends as I had hoped.

Doesn’t work , so why the public services connection?

Everbridge is so consistently, astonishingly bad, it’s baffling. I get the text messages from Nixle just fine, but because they don’t provide a map of where the wildfires are, I thought I’d install and subscribe to Everbridge . Except when I do that, not only does Everbridge not work, but the texts stop and I have to manually request they continue. There’s a wildfire just a couple of miles north, and because I have attempted to install Everbridge again, my husband knows to alert me if he gets a warning because I just don’t trust this system. So why do our public services like the health department (vaccine info) fire department and police department have contracts only with this company? Cronyism? Bad public management? Time to contact my congressman.

Start over.

My school uses this is an indicator for students and faculty to determine if it is safe for them to come to the campus. I can’t even login with my school credentials, therefore can’t access my school’s public facilities like to use the library or laboratory. I tried deleting and redownloading about 5 times, still nothing. Everbridge is buggy and it crashes way too easily, and the fact that I won’t be able to even enter my school because I can’t get it to work just says how incompetent this entire check-in system is on both ends. The devs need to just take Everbridge apart and start again from scratch. Why release a product and keep it as so with all these bad reviews without even an attempt for major improvements in the future.

Reluctant to download app

After reading the reviews from today back to the beginning of April 2021 I’m not so sure I want to undertake the hassle of Everbridge . Currently I am getting the alerts on an iPad via email. Installing Everbridge with push notifications is going to add to the battery drain issues that have become problematic with the installation of IOS 14.6. Go ahead and update etc but please keep the email notification option available for those of us that do not need absolutely every notification that is sent out. I’m able to sort through the emails and figure out if the event happening 15 miles away is going to be a problem in my driveway, or wherever else I might be. In other words not all notifications need to be immediate.

Nice idea, but doesn’t work

I stopped getting ALL Nixles I had set for zones around friends and family. It is vital I have their alerts so I can support them. But I cannot get this app to give me a fraction of those alerts. Furthermore, for the alerts in my region, I receive MAYBE 1/4 of the alerts my friends and family receive via Nixle for the same areas. I’ve missed MANY important alerts. And finally, this app REFUSES to give me phone alerts (icon, banner, locked screen, audible alert), NOTHING. I have done everything support recommends and NOTHING works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Everbridge countless times. I am an essential worker in a high risk area. I REQUIRE a reliable system and this app is NOT that platform.

What a joke! Would be funny if lives weren’t at stake

You have to leave Everbridge open to get notifications? Have the developers not heard of push notifications? There is a setting in Everbridge to enable push notifications, which I have enabled, I have background app refresh on, and I have my alert subscriptions set up correctly because I get the messages in Everbridge when I open it, but I’ve never gotten a single push notification from this EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION app because I don’t leave apps open on my phone (because I’m not a sociopath). When you go to close Everbridge it has a huge message saying not to swipe it closed. 😂😭 Amateur hour.

Update

Everbridge is extremely frustrating to navigate. I’ve already had to delete it and start over and it’s still squirrelly.
Deleting messages needs a one-swipe motion.
All of a sudden I’m getting phone calls from Civil Defense instead of texts! There is no easy path to change that preference.
Very repetitive modes of delivery: email, text and phone call. I don’t need that.
Everbridge needs a quick fix. Right now it’s a one star wonder.
I want my Nixle back but this app has taken over Nixle. I’ve sent an email to the support folks. Hope they can help.
Update
**** I finally called my local Civil Defense and they told me how to fix the issues. I also received an email response from Everbridge support folks.
The first time I signed up I didn’t find the option to create a profile and use settings. The second time I signed up I did. I still hope they streamline Everbridge a bit****

Worst messaging app on the market

I thought Hipaabridge was bad. But Everbridge is the worst messaging app I have used. First, you cannot see who is sending you a message. Then when you go to check you have to wait while trying Everbridge retrieves all the messages. It spends considerable time fetching prior messages. Next, you do not have the ability to send short voice messages as you did in Hipaabridge. Finally, the interface appears extremely primitive/dated. I cannot fathom how any major company would pay this app for this service. There are far better products available in the marketplace.

Please fix this app

The worst medical messaging system I’ve ever used. Notifications of messages are not shown on Everbridge …if you are away from your phone and get a message. You’ll never know it’s there. Messages extremely delayed. You have to start a chat with a person before actually messaging them. But I’m the time of a pandemic. Nursing shortages. Doctor burn out…why not go ahead and add the worst possible medical messaging system fathomable. Please fix Everbridge. My hospital just switched and probably paid a ton of money for everyone to use it, so please fix it. I doubt we can get rid of it.

Mostly good

I’ve been using Everbridge for several years now. It generally gives me the details I need quickly. My biggest issue are alerts at night but it’s device related not app related. I previously registered with my local emergency departments and the information carried over. My only complaint is sometimes alerts come after the event has already happened.

Waste of time

I was so excited to see my county used this for weather alerts. Thought it would be more functional than the county website.

I was wrong. Signing up was easy…but from there just went downhill. The alerts I signed up for weren’t on Everbridge and said I had no subscriptions. So I found my county again and tried to login….which I did only to be told “that account already exists” and refused to sign me into my account.

I deleted 5 minutes after downloading. Not worth the time and effort in supplying all my personal information.

Completely useless

Apparently, there was an emergency in my town yesterday. I’m signed up for notifications and didn’t receive anything. Went to the website to make sure I was signed up properly (I was) and then saw I was to be like naked with this horrible app. I downloaded Everbridge , added my zip, and subscribed to my subscription. I entered my phone number and received an error saying .... I’m not subscribed?!?! Everbridge also takes you into these loops of blank pages and the only way to get out is by killing Everbridge . So - I killed it by uninstalling. iPhone 11.

Please fix so we don’t have to keep the App open!

this app I love your service but you are the only App that I have to keep open at all times in order to get notifications. It’s ridiculous. It’s always in the way. Please learn from the best app builders and fix this problem! Your service is very important . You are not going to properly reach your users with critical safety info when they accidentally close Everbridge all the time

By

Needs improvements

Some improvements can be added:
-After adding a subscription, Everbridge should be automatically launched on the “Feed”instead of the first-time user page “find an organization or subscription or explore the map”. It makes for an easier, user-friendly experience.
-Should be a toggle option for each organization or subscription for badges.

How Do I Delete an Account?

I can see NOTHING useful with Everbridge, but was directed by my state to download it for COVID updates. Somehow ended up with two accounts (shouldn’t there be done cross reference to tell me that when signing up?).
My profile says I have a subscription, but the dashboard lists nothing, and when I try to add and sign in, I am told I have no account. I see a viscous circle and no way to remove my contact information from Everbridge . FAQs are useless and support requires yet ANOTHER account.
Waste of time and space. I’d give it negative stars if I could.

By

Helpful but

The way to delete messages is cumbersome. It would better to allow deletion by swiping a message or messages instead of having to leave the Feed page, choosing Select and Delete, returning to the Feed and having to individually select messages.

6am wake up every day!

It’s an absolutely flawless way for a company to contact (call/email) all their employees at 6am every day, so they immediately report in for the day, including unpaid weekends and holidays. Alternatively they can wait an hour to reply, after being notified via four other methods. Accountability in action every day of the year, 24-7!

Helpful

Helpful info from my company and city - was alerted when a shooting occurred near my home and was able to avoid driving into the area during active police activity. Nice to be able to connect with where I live and work in the same app.

Too many texts/notifications

UPDATE: Made the original review in Sept. It's now midway through Nov. with no solution. I gave it four stars then because I honestly love everything else about Everbridge except having to choose between getting texts and/or emails for EVERY call in addition to Everbridge alerts. So annoying! I'm dropping my rating to 3 stars. I have a new app installed that I like better for now because I don't have to get emails or texts in addition to Everbridge alerts. What's the point of having an this app app when you could just get text alerts instead? If there's no solution soon, I'm uninstalling the this app app and just using the other app.

Sept: Dang man! I tried to turn off emails and texts since I'm obviously already getting everything in Everbridge , but it requires you to keep one on. I turned off email since I don't want it spamming up my email. I'd like a way to turn off text too. I already get notifications, so please make a way for notifications only for Everbridge , not having to get texts or emails too.

.

Utterly useless app. Never receive any notifications even when friends and family are receiving multiple notifications on the old nixle app when local events (fires) are in progress. Have double checked profile, all info is correct and alerts are turned on. I would get more up to date info if it were being delivered by the USPS.

Where is support? Where are settings

Based on a developer’s answer to a review, I TRIED to go to Profile, to fix some of the duplicate settings. But, there is NO Profile in the this app iOS app.

So I tried coming to Everbridge Store, to contact the developer - that site is aimed at the communities, not the residents.

So - where do we find support, help, settings, profile, whatever you want to call it?

Also - is there an easier way to delete read messages, other than select each 1 (4 on a screen) and tapping delete? Swiping (either way) doesn’t work.

Very Useful

Great update! I’m now able to seach for my local organizations and sign up for alerts. Finally!

By

Messed up

I looked at my info, all correct, then I went into location. The location was our old address 100 miles away. I went back into my info, & all it would give me was my subscription.

By

Not impressed

It wouldn’t let me select the town I live in so how can it do me any good? I give 2 stars because it is a good concept but if the program doesn’t work it’s not helpful

By

Confusing

I just downloaded Everbridge and it’s very confusing to use, it’s not simple at all. I wish Everbridge would be revamped to be made user friendly.

By

Worst designed app ever

Too many steps to delete messages

Won't open as local feed, you have to go through a couple of steps to see info

Overall poorly designed

By

Crashes

Have a notification for new message but crashes every time while trying to load it.

Doesn’t work anymore.

Doesn’t work anymore. I’ve had Everbridge for years. Is the developer no longer doing updates or are they defunct?

Needs a delete all button

I’m sick of having to delete many individual messages. Where is the DELETE ALL button?

I have jumped through fiery hoops trying to connect with Everbridge nixle. Please do not patronize me with all the questions regarding set up. I've done them all and then some. I've tried several times to join to no avail. Ive received a thank you for signing up but that's it.This app and message bs gives people a false sense of security. I have all the things to make this work but I'm waiting on "you". I've given my name, email, etc. Where did my info go? Hire someone who knows how to tackle these issues so they can fix them. Stop leading people on. It's all rather upsetting. I was satisfied with nixle before the change. Signed, Bumbed Alaskan

I am signed up for the alerts with zip code 83801 which covers a lot of towns both n and s of me. I continue to get notifications in which they say there is an incident at such and such an intersection but they don't provide the town.
