25+ min downloading over roaming data and setting up with credit card, trying to book ahead (120 minute minimum), and then just waiting until the needful moment, and it failed with an opaque error. Tried another app that was similarly nonfunctional. Just walked outside and hailed a cab in less than two minutes instead. Deleted.

A total waste of time. It gets all the way to past payment preauthorization, then a dialog come saying it needs to switch to another app Yes/No. No matter how I answer this, the booking is lost. (I assume. There's no confirmation either way, but nothing shows up in Bookings.) Perhaps the developers have never heard of Software QA.

We were traveling in florence and had several issues. From having issues making a reservation and then when calling for help were hung up on several times. It all ended with us taking a cab to the airport. appTaxi said 28 for the trip. When we arrived the cab driver tried to charge us 58 because we had bags with us and it was the morning. We had to call the cab company and have them dispute the price with him. He then screamed at us and threw our luggage into the road and drove off after we agreed to pay him 35 just to get out of the situation.

Worst app ever. Downloaded it, and then tried to book a taxi in advanced. It wouldn’t let me. Tried to book again as it got closer to our time to leave, it still wouldn’t let me. Then, I tried deleting my profile altogether, and it wouldn’t let me. Tried deleting my credit card information, since I don’t want appTaxi to hold onto that information, and it won’t let me. So, can’t book a taxi with appTaxi and now I can’t delete any of my personal information along with credit card info from appTaxi . Seriously the worst, don’t bother.

I see other users have had similar experiences. Booked a taxi and kept getting an error message that my payment did not go through, however, there are charges on my bank account for the fares. The booking does not show in my history or bookings to be able to cancel or request a refund.

Used appTaxi once last week. Worked like a charm. Last night attempted to pre book and it continued to say my card did not go through. I have 4 charges and no booking. Unacceptable performance from an app on something that needs to be reliable. (I did notice that between this week and last I had to select black or red based on residence/business. It seemed to be a bit of a loop-maybe it is a new function and causing the problem?) Hopefully you will resolve. I have to make calls today about the charges and still have no booking.

Despite booking a taxi through appTaxi the night before my trip to Florence train station, it failed to secure my ride. The following morning, I urgently booked another taxi, which was supposedly arriving at my location within 4 minutes. However, it never showed up. Fortunately, I had planned for extra time and was forced to speed walk to the station. Halfway through my walk, I checked appTaxi again, and disappointingly, the taxi still hadn’t arrived.

appTaxi when you are trying to book a taxi any where always has to verify payment. Even if your card is fine, many times it will fail to verify which in turn will not allow you to book a taxi. Also if you book the night before they may decide to cancel the day of. Making it impossible to get a taxi. I do not recommend.

The UI on this application is mot good because once you order the taxi you can no longer access the map functionality to see where the taxi is and where you are. If you swipe down on the pop up screen after ordering it will cancel the order, or at least the apps UI displays like you have cancelled the order. Having to a separate authorization for CC in a web browser is poor development and should be taken care of in-app.

Its hard and almost impossible to get a cab with appTaxi specially in rome , florence or Venice. the problem is not appTaxi . Its just that taxis most of the time do not accept the request. You will have better shot at finding taxi at the taxi stand than appTaxi. On our 3 weeks to italy we tried appTaxi to find taxi prolly 20 times but could never get one. No taxis accepted the request. Therefore I highly warn against relying on this or any taxi app in italy.

Trying to get a taxi in Florence with appTaxi has been extremely frustrating. Constantly getting a “wrong house number” error when the address is pasted directly from Google. Being a solo female traveler, the unreliability of appTaxi has put me in danger and ruffled my travel plans on many occasions. Would not recommend.

I use Uber and Lyft very often in other countries when I travel. So I’m not a novice to rideshare app use.

My first attempt to schedule a taxi in Florence went smoothly. I created an account, added my payment method, and scheduled a pickup at our apartment. We needed to be somewhere at 7am and the taxi was scheduled the night before and arrived promptly. Then, every other attempt failed. Regardless of whether I was trying to “call” a taxi right then or schedule a few hours in the future, attempts always failed. I’d enter the exact address used the first time and it would not recognize, or it would default to an address down the street and not let me change it. Or I’d attempt from a restaurant and it would never accept the address. Or sometimes it would allow me to nearly compete the entire schedule and cancel on me.

When it works, it’s great. The driver can generate payment from appTaxi which is super convenient but it needs to work better and more often.

The payment was confusing. Even though I had my cc as a payment method, you had to pay the taxi after the ride and apparently the pending pre-authorization on the cc gets refunded. Prefer Uber where no money exchange has to happen real time.

Catching a train on time is nerve wracking. Driver arrived on time, took the quickest way to the station, helped with luggage. Sad to leave Firenze but driver made our last minutes easy.

Our driver was on time and very helpful.
He was calm and collected when we were stuck behind a delivery truck and he even jumped out to assist with that driver. He is a great representative of this wonderful city.

I used this app to book my ride for the following morning. appTaxi notified me when the driver was 2 minutes away and also the model of vehicle to watch for. The driver already knew the destination and took us straight to the train station. The price matched what was estimated by appTaxi when I booked the ride. The driver was professional and courteous and arrived at the time I requested.
You can only book a ride no more than 1 day in advance. But this was not an issue and the whole experience was very good.

appTaxi works! I always think that I have confirmed the wrong location, but every time the cab shows up , usual wait +- 4 minutes. Thank you!

We used this app while visiting Lucca. They were pretty reliable, with there only being one time we couldn’t get one when we called but then we were connected to one within a minute or two of the second request. It worked inside and outside of the city and the taxi drivers were friendly and fair.

This was the best app I downloaded while in Florence. Although it was an expensive ride most of the time, it helped immensely since I was outside of the city.

Driver was right on time for our very early morning pickup to go the airport. Got us to the airport quickly. Paying via app was a snap. Great experience!
