Good app for consolidating data

2022-05-21

If you prefer to use a certain app based on the activity this is RunGap for you. It pulls down the data from those and allows you to quickly compare the basic data points from each. The only thing I am missing is the ability to overlay the data in the graphs such as HR with Pace and Cadence. That would make it easier for me to see which segments I was efficient on or not. For instance, did my improvements to Cadence increase my Pace without negatively impacting Heart Rate, or did how did I do on that short hill.

Great response

I have to admit my first experience with this app was not great. I bought it to sync Garmin Strava and IFit (Garmin and Strava do seamlessly but iFit doesn’t seem to share the “sharing” ideology but I use all 3). this app hung endlessly with iFit and I got some weird additions to activities on my iFit account that may not have been related but occurred simultaneously. I sent in a grumpy complaint and was ready to delete RunGap and not renew but Kristian got back immediately. At first it seemed a bit defensive (“no problems on our end so it must be yours@) but thereafter Kristian stuck with it, kept communicating and I re-tried syncing and it worked. May have been an iFit issue who knows. Thanks to Kristian for great follow up. RunGap looks good and now ready to check it out more fully.

Consolidate your hard-earned records

2022-07-23

This is one of the few apps I’ve purchased that has exceeded my expectations. After 20 years, I recently switched from Polar to Garmin. That’s 20 years of detailed cycling and workout records marooned on a platform I no longer use, right? Wrong. I was looking for a way to export my Polar data and then import it into Garmin. this app looked like a tool I could use, and it did in fact convert my data successfully to Garmin. What I was surprised to see is how many sources and destinations this app supports.

In ditching my Polar, my plan was to use my Apple Watch for everything but cycling. I had resigned myself to having my exercise on two different platforms, but this app easily consolidates everything on Garmin for me. But I could consolidate everything on another or even additional platforms. This is a great app and I don’t mind paying the annual fee.

Absolutely PERFECT

2022-08-24

I have struggled to get all my data to sync seamlessly. To record workouts I use Garmin, Form, Zwift, and most recently Peloton. To track my progress I use Training Peaks, Strava, and Apple Health. Before RunGap I had to manually export and or delete activities to avoid duplicates. RunGap has made the process effortless. With RunGap ’s advanced rules I can control which workouts an app sends and where it sends that data. Well worth the subscription. On a side note RunGap also successfully imported over 5000 activities and I can’t find any significant errors!

Holy cow!

2022-09-25

For the last week I e been trying to find data from all my past running/walking/biking/weight loss endeavors. To say the least, it's been confusing, frustrating, and I was about to chuck the project all together when I found this app. this app did exactly that and it took...ready for this? FIVE MINUTES. Swear to God. It took only FIVE MINUTES to have my historical data from 6 different apps - from 2008 to today! - combined into my this app profile.
Unbelievably awesome. Thank you, RunGappers!

Best way to OWN your data if you use an Apple Watch

2022-10-26

In a nutshell, RunGap will pull your run data from any number of major platforms and then push it to other platforms in nearly any configuration you want. This big deal here is that it can pull data from or push data to HeakthKit.

In other words, RunGap makes it possible to use the built-in/native Apple Watch Workout app and still own your data either by extracting it in any of the standard formats (GPX, FIT, etc) or directly upload it to other platforms.

In my case, I’ve been logging runs on RunKeeper since 2010. The official RunKeeper Apple Watch app, however, omits cadence and elevation data, even when using a Series 4 Apple Watch. This puts me in a position where I prefer the native Workout app but still want my data on RunKeeper.

In other cases, I prefer to use my first-gen Tomtom Runner with a BT HR chest strap for logging serious runs. It’s just way more accurate that my Series 4 (better GPS sampling) and has infinitely better battery life. However, I also want the Apple Watch Move and Exercise credit for those runs without wearing an Apple Watch since I’ve already got the Tomtom on. this app will take my data from Tomtom and push it to HealthKit, which then shows up on my Apple Watch.

this app is perfect 👌

Great find for former Garmin owner/user

2022-11-27

I have found this to be a must-have app. It provides greater details with my move to Apple Watch 6 (from Garmin Fenix 5). This includes gear tracking (shoes) for runs. Apple’s health app is too limiting on the data review side.

It also synchronizes data from various sources to/from this app. In my case, this is many years of Garmin data. I still push my data to Garmin too to finish up with existing gear tracking and since my wife is still on Garmin (she can see my info from her Garmin app still).

Fantastic App

2022-12-28

I have always used the built-in Activity app for one simple reason - only the Activity app and Polar Beat use HR for calorie calculation (of all the apps I have researched). I always wanted to use Strava because of all the additional analysis tools and segment tracking, but value more accurate calorie calculation based on HR more important. Run Gap gives me the most of both worlds allowing use of Activity app and Strava analysis.
App is very well done, easy to use and stable.
Given all my activity tracking this is one of the most useful and well-done apps I have use in 10 years of iPhone use.

Effortless Syncing

2023-01-29

Wow! RunGap does exactly what the developer said it would. My specific need was to sync Strava to Garmin. RunGap makes syncing a piece of cake. With a couple of taps, my activity is in my Garmin log.
**To send/share data to other sport platforms, you do need to buy ‘swag.’ At $7.99 a year, some may say it’s not worth the money but if you are a data junky and want to everything to be in line, the purchase is necessary. It just saves time. You can export the .gpx, .fit, etc for free if you prefer to create an activity manually in another platform**

Awesome customer support

2023-03-02

I was inexplicably unable to download RunGap after a recommendation from a friend. I reached out to their support and they were very quick to respond. They informed me that they were aware of the issue and had reached out to apple. They advised me that they would let me know as soon as they had something new to try. This morning they reached out to me to let me know that they had pushed a new update to RunGap Store and asked me to try to download again - this time it worked! I’m excited to start syncing up my workouts!

Essential & Regularly Updated

2023-03-31

this app is an essential part of making my watch and phone work for me as exercise tracking tools. I’ve never found a running or workout tracking service that does all that I want. With this app I can use what works best for any situation and know that I can port that data anywhere else. The developer is always on top if any changes the various services are constantly making. Happy to pay for the continued and timely development of RunGap!

Excellent app - only way to export data from Nike+

2023-05-02

Nike+ is a terrible app. It’s buggy and it makes it very difficult to export data. I kept using it just because it had all my runs logged on it. When it bugged out and restarted (also un-synced with my watch) in the middle of a marathon I decided to finally switch to another app. But Nike made it very, very difficult to transfer my data to another app. After trying different methods for days - none of which seemed to work - I tried this app. It did the trick in less than 5 mins. You cannot transfer data using the free version. But the $1.99 is totally worth it.

Essential App for Data Freaks!

2023-06-02

RunGap is seriously the best; it allows you to sync your Apple Watch runs across a myriad of services; plus, it automatically backups your GPX to runkeeper!

I love running with nothing but my Apple Watch, but my friends and family use a mix of Strava and Runkeeper. My dad, who lives in another country, was seriously bummed when I switched away from Runkeeer, since he could no longer follow my runs from afar 😢. With RunGap, I can once again stay in touch with my dad by automatically export every run to all social running platforms. Huzzah!

Thank you for your wonderful work.

The best app to collect and migrate activity into one place.

2023-07-04

From my original post I had an issue where I can not delete activities in a bulk and the developer reached out and described how to delete multiple activity using a filtering option. It worked really well. Thank you!

Original post:
I love RunGap but now I am done transferring my data from one app to other. I would like to delete all activity from Run Gap app in a bulk not an individual. I can’t find a way to do that. Other than not able to delete multiple activity once RunGap is the best in transferring activity from one app to other.

Great product / great support

2023-08-04

I’ve been using run gap for almost 2 weeks. I was having issues trying to post my Nike+ data into Final Surge. It was becoming too cumbersome moving the data from one app to the other.

I ran across this app to bridge that gap and I thought I’d give it a try. Right from the start it worked great. I was having an issue with one of the metrics not coming over correctly. I reached out to support and they promptly looked at the issue. Within a couple of days they were able to address the issue and now I’m getting everything that I need into Final Surge.

Thank you for a great product and great support!

Foundational tracking application

2023-09-05

I’ve used this app for a few years now. It’s been foundational for me tracking my running. I’ve used a few apps previously and this app slurped that information from my accounts, making it available in a central location. The good thing is it is my information and not just another retail company’s way to track and process me. Another reason that I switched was because the other application started to get unstable after running 10 or 12 miles, so I rolled over to tracking things on Apple’s Workout app and storing the information in this app. It’s great! I track my shoes and look at my stats. Solid!

NRC and Runkeeper

2023-10-07

I’m a long time Garmin watch user but recently switched to the iWatch 5. I was bouncing back and forth with the native apple workout app and the Nike Run Club app. I use Runkeeper and NRC to log/view my runs. I found that syncing from NRC/Apple Workout to Runkeeper the data was off (Runkeeper’s fault). I found this pretty frustrating and took me a while to figure out the right system.. but I finally figured it out. If you use the apple workout app, sync to Garmin using this app. Then connect Runkeeper and NRC with Garmin (not with this app). Once synced with Garmin, it will auto update Runkeeper and NRC with accurate data. This works great now. I don’t even have to open RunGap .. and I get accurate data in both NRC and Runkeeper.

Works just like I expected. Totally worth the price.

2023-11-07

I was looking for something to get my Apple Watch runs to my Garmin account. I still use my Garmin for speed work, swims, and cycling, but I only wanted to wear one watch and not carry a phone (kids at home-have to be in contact) on my easy, uncomplicated morning runs and my Apple Watch fills that need. RunGap does exactly what I wanted. I can move workout data from the Apple platform into Garmin without any issue and all the data is there (pace, route, etc.). I also like that it’s not a subscription so I don’t have to keep track every month. I will be renewing when my current time period expires.

Only app to crack Nike+

2023-12-09

I recently downloaded Strava, my only hesitation in using it was loosing all my years of running with Nike+. After lots of googling I found RunGap to be the only one that could transfer all my data from Nike to Strava. Despite the warning when adding my Nike account to RunGap and the inconsistencies found with the article author for which I found it, all of my Nike data transferred over within a few minutes and was completely accurate, maps, times and all! I will continue using both Nike and Strava for each run till at least the end of the month or maybe my race in December but I see myself in the future transitioning to Strava only (especially now that I’ve learned how Nike locks down their data unlike other run apps).

Must have app for sharing workouts across services

2024-01-09

I regularly use a variety of workout and health apps (e.g., Strava, Runtastic, SWORKIT, MyFitnessPal) together with my Apple Watch, and this app integrates all the feeds into one easy to read dashboard. Other apps may look pretty, but this app’s integration with nearly every major fitness app makes it an easy winner. The wealth of information displayed is at least equal to Strava Premium, and easier to read.

On top of everything, this app support is top-notch. I submitted a feature request because I couldn’t understand why walking on a treadmill wasn’t considered a “walking” sport. Boom! New release with new functionality! A++++

A little klunky & not maintained

2024-12-15

Great initial idea. Not very intuitive. I often find myself having to do something two ways because instructions are unclear.
It’s also problematic that they have yet to add the Suunto app, when the older SportsTracker & Movescount Suunto options are being phased out.
Update: I just received a developer e-mail chastising me for a review and claiming that I was wrong, i.e. the Suunto App IS supported by Run Gap.
That is incorrect. I can neither “refresh” from or share to the Suunto app. Instead I must continue to maintain a separate app, Sports Tracker and wait for it to update the Suunto app, in it’s own time.
It’s not enough that you don’t keep your app up-to-date without sending me a nasty gram for posting a review that is correct.
