I’ve been using the original “Lite” application for quite some time, and despite the unacceptable learning curve (due to poor documentation and deficient Chinese programming), managed to get it to work quite reasonably for many months.

This latest update is an absolute travesty. Not only did the upgrade result in all my favorites being lost, it keeps prompting me to update to the new “Plus” version, which I did. But none of the settings from the “Lite” version were transferred over! So now I have to suffer through setting up all that complicated nonsense again, using an application that is decidedly worse than the previous iteration.

Why can’t an American company create something on par with this Chinese garbage so we can at least understand how it works? An absolute shame that this Chinese app is all we have available for this purpose.

iDMSSPlus used to work okay but after the last few updates, it’s been almost useless. I rely on the motion detection recording and notification but that function is completely broken. For example, I’ll get a notification at 3pm on 6/20 that there is motion on camera 3 but when I try to view the recording, it’ll show me a recording from 6/15 at 7am on camera 2. The motion recordings no longer save. What is the point of having iDMSSPlus if it’s not going to work? The motion detection notification function is one of the things that sets the paid version of iDMSSPlus over the free version. At this point, there is no difference between the two versions.

The latest app broke the ability to choose the time range for reviewing video. Can only select the day and can not alter the time range. It’s been that way for over a month. How long does it take to fix an app. We have over 36 Dahua cameras at our business. Won’t be using this company for our next location.

Whatever the opposite of “user friendly” is, iDMSSPlus is it.

Everything has more steps than should be necessary making any little thing I want to do on iDMSSPlus confusing and tedious. Even my IT guy struggled.

The most ridiculous part is video playback. You can’t effectively search for a specific event if you don’t have the exact time. You have to sit there and wait as the video is played back at only 8x speed hoping to catch whatever it is you want to see. BIG waste of my time!

Since the last app update I am unable to connect to my cameras from my iPhone. It says login timeout error. I’ve been using iDMSSPlus for over a year with no issues. I don’t know how to fix this. All the documentation/help info for iDMSSPlus is for the old interface and not updated for this version. There is no way to contact your company for assistance. If this error is on the developer’s end, then they need to fix it immediately. I can’t be the only person having this problem.

iDMSSPlus has a problem to choose Start time for playback videos ! There is no option to choose any start time and its not fixed!! Start time is big problem you are not able to adjust any Start time because app its not working properly!!! Start time has to be fixed so we can can choose any start time, if we want to playback videos

When I updated my phone to IOS 13 I stopped receiving notifications from iDMSSPlus. I have tried everything possible to restore this function to no avail. The notifications are very important, was the primary reason for utilizing iDMSSPlus and this security system. The notifications work on my Samsung but iDMSSPlus constantly crashes on that platform. I need to be able to receive the notifications. Customer please contact me if you have a way to fix this.

Just spent $1200 in getting 2 cameras installed and was told to use iDMSSPlus for all services. If I am not near my home WiFi there is no live feed on my phone and constant message of connection failed is a serious concern as the whole point of getting cameras installed was to have immediate access to recordings and live feeds. Would like the developer to fix this issue ASAP.

No my phone internet works just fine...

Push notifications have been sporadic since several versions go and each update seems to make iDMSSPlus more useless. Live view window is smaller in the most recent update. Takes longer to load then before. They need to work on the ongoing issues and stop pushing out updates without fixing known issues.

The major feature I wanted for this updated app was support for iPad/iPhone landscape mode. I, like most humans, keep my iPad docked next to my computer in landscape mode, so it would be great if iDMSSPlus would let me see my cameras in that orientation. Alas, still no support for this, so I must tilt my head to see what’s going on. Ugh.

Th app isn’t super user friendly. It commonly forgets settings too. But the most annoying thing is there is no option to snooze notifications. In the morning when my employees are walking around outside loading trucks it blows up my phone unless I turn off all notifications. That means before I leave for the night I have to remember to turn them on. There needs to be an option to snooze for 30 minutes to an hour. If I’m in a meeting I also want to snooze rather than have it buzz my phone non stop. Delivery quietly doesn’t work either because it means I have to remember to turn it back on.

Works well for remotely viewing cameras. The push notifications could be better. I wish the notifications would send the image or video directly to my iPhone home screen and Apple Watch instead of a link that takes you to iDMSSPlus .

***Since last update, remote connection to cameras is much slower.

I have used iDMSSPlus for many years. It’s a great tool. I am struggling on the new push notifications. Some times it works and most of the time it doesn’t. I see others have comments of the same issues. Any update when the bugs are going to be fixed?

- The time is reset to year 2000 frequently, i guess after power shut down. And there’s no automatic time update.

- I’m no longer able to playback any footage. When I want to playback I can choose the year but I cannot choose the time. It’s stuck to the current time for start and end and cannot be changed.

- Sometimes I’m getting a pop-up ad once I lunch iDMSSPlus telling me to download another app that is not associated with the current company or developer to use instead of iDMSSPlus.
Please clear out this confusion.

After setting the password, it asks when I connect to the internet and sometimes it doesn’t ask when I don’t connect to the internet. When I enter iDMSSPlus with no internet at the first time, it asks the password. But after immediately removing the recent app and immediately open iDMSSPlus , it doesn’t ask and it only shows the Network error and then skip the asking password step. So, I enter iDMSSPlus with no internet and then reconnect to the internet when I reach inside iDMSSPlus . And if I do like this, iDMSSPlus doesn’t ask the password and I can watch live without typing password. I hope you can get what I meant and recommend you to fix that problem.

App works well but motion push notifications always seem to play back live video instead of the time from the actual notification. Please fix this and it would be a 5 star app!

I really like iDMSSPlus .
But it would help if there was a way to block someone from it as well that isn’t part of the household anymore. Would it suffice with just changing the password on iDMSSPlus ? Modify device password? (There is only one user account)

The last update did something to the time section when trying to review a video from a prior date/time. When you get to the time portion you are unable to change the time. Can someone please look in to this. Thank you

Idk why iDMSSPlus has such low ratings, but it works well for me and does what I need it to do. iDMSSPlus doesn’t force quit or anything, and with the recent feature (Memory Play), it works even better. My cameras load up relatively fast, and that’s really all I need iDMSSPlus for (to check my cameras when I’m not home).

I expected something to work better with the latest update. It seemed to be working fine before the update, I should have left it alone. Now the favorites does not work. I hope it gets fixed soon. This program works great normally I have used it for 1 1/2 years and it usually improves with updates.

This is pretty important to me. When reviewing footage, I may need to skip ahead to the next recorded event however the skip forward button doesn’t do anything, and if you try to slide the timeline forward or back it just restarts the entire video from the beginning again. The only thing that works is fast forward and rewind, which is slow.

I came from using a Geovision camera and their GV-Eye mobile app....I had no idea how nice I had it. iDMSSPlus would open with a preset live camera view and by double clicking a single camera you could with one button pull up all motion capture events in a list with time stamps - this was so convenient to access and scroll through!

The one significant advantage iDMSS has is the ability to export video. That feature alone is really nice, it would be nice if you could disable the audio in the exported video if needed though.

It would be great if I could actually use any of the facial recognition/detection search capabilities through iDMSSPlus as well...that’s why I bought the cameras in the first place.
