Zero Stars - App is Awful

I hope the Food Network app team are reading these reviews. One star ratings across-the-board is a very good indicator that your application is not working well. Ever since the application was "upgraded", it is basically been rendered useless. Most pages take minutes to load or don't load at all and what was once a very simple application to navigate is now cumbersome, unfriendly, and the changes were pointless. It is now January 1, and the January issue is not even available to download -- not that it really matters because I would only be able to read about 70% of it. I am just cancel my subscription as of today and will not be renewing online. Fix the issues now or you are going to continue to lose your subscribers. You should also consider replacing your technical team and application developers.

Magazine

I bought digital subscription it did not allow me to use my own password prompted me to use the one indicated so screen shot the password to use it to login. When I try to login after it has said thank you for purchase, it now indicates incorrect password or Email. From what I also see to support to fix this so I feel I’ve been jacked my money. Would like to use what I paid for.

Newest version works! And customer service was very helpful

After a few days of communication with customer service, my subscription has been restored and I was even given a few other issues a no charge. Thank you!

Update! The new update is AWFUL! I've lost my subscription. Fix this now! I'm only allowed to view issues I've already purchased as a "free" 5 minute preview.

I will not renew when it's time.

I'm not thrilled. I can't get it to work on my iPad. I've done everything FoodNetworkMagazineUS tells you to do and it's still not working. I called customer service, the guy was nice but couldn't figure it out so in 1-2 days I'll hear from a manager.

I have the print version

But your “info page” doesn’t really say whether the online version is accessible with a paid print sub. I’m to believe it doesn’t but... would like to know for SURE if that is a perk or not. Secondly, looks like you have MAJOR issues with accessing the content anyway, therefore, I wouldn’t spend any extra money in getting it. If I thought I DID have an online account and tried logging in... the site does not have a forgot password link. Very strange setup for sure. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT... and I haven’t even accessed any content. SMH

Hate the update!

I've been a digital subscriber for more than two years. The latest update is hard to navigate, can't easily read and save recipes, moving around is not intuitive. Why oh why do the developer trolls feel the need to fix what isn't broken!? Fix it back!!!

Navigation is a challenge

I have found that navigation of each issue is as confounding as any website I have used. Absolutely love the content, but after blundering my way through a single issue and a search for just two recipes that I saw on the cover, the magazine is either dedicated to misleading customers or guiding them to some kind of advertisement, or they simply haven’t managed to find a cogent process for guiding customers to the content. Again, great material, just poor or misguided execution.

Problem with previously paid issues

I have used the Food Network digital magazine for over a year and after the latest updates I now have to pay for my previously paid subscription. There are recipes from the previous issues that I liked and wanted to keep.

I called customer service and was told that those issues are expired and will have to pay to access them again. What’s the point of paying for digital if you can’t access it? I’m going back to print for this magazine.

Always helps with ideas

This magazine always gives me ideas of new things to try. It covers all types of foods and easy to follow recipes.

WTH happened?

I just came back to the after about a year. Have to unlock an issue before you can leave a bookmark (how is that done, by the way?), no list of issues owned - have to scroll through everything to which ones say ‘available offline’. This makes it almost worth it taking up space on bookshelves or magazine racks & going back to the physical issues. Please fix FoodNetworkMagazineUS & put it back the way it was.

ETA: have no idea how to find the bookmarks on my older issues from before the update.

Zero stars

I have subscribed digitally for a few years. Loved the old app and ease of use. The update has made it Impossible to save favorites without wifi and Facebook. I read mostly without wifi and I don't Facebook.... Also can't figure out how to print just the recipes that I want. Too complicated and wifi connected, I would cancel my subscription if I hadn't paid for the year. Will not renew. I love food network magazine but I Hate FoodNetworkMagazineUS

Jan 2018 issue

Yeah, so where’s our January 2018 issue? It’s already 01/08 and still nothing! Agreed with previous reviews about FoodNetworkMagazineUS update being garbage. I actually thought it might be my iPhone or iPad that was acting up but glad to know it was the shoddy tech.

Mostly...WHERE THE HELL IS MY JANUARY ISSUE?

02/18: So, just downloaded March’s issue and I can’t read it because I can’t turn the page. I try to swipe left and it just brings me right back to the cover page.

Worst Magazine App

I’ve paid for the digital subscription but after every app update any previous downloads are wiped out. Then you can’t log back in to redownload or access new editions. Have had to contact support three times already. And their response is poor at best. Make you feel like you shouldn’t ask for what you’ve paid for.

Messed up again

Like the other MAZ powered apps, can’t get past the cover on previous purchases that need to be downloaded again. In addition, I hate the top and bottom banding which removes a full inch of actual content. Hearst Magazines better get on these problems or they are going to lose a lot of subscribers. I’m tired of having issues ever time iOS is updated.

Food network magazine

I have been subscribing to the magazine since it started. I wait for each magazine and can’t wait to see what is new.

HORRIBLE UPDATE!

It doesn't work well on any of my mobile devices! The border on top and bottom is useless and detracting. I am also not able to view more than 2 pages in a row. I have numerous friends with same issues and unless this is fixed by next edition we will all be cancelling subscriptions and NOT buying print edition. If I could give zero stars I would.

I love these magazines......

The content is always different colorful and informative. When I have to entertain quests, this is my go to source..

Ongoing issues

As others have stated, with the latest update I lost my subscription and previous issues. However this is the 4th time this has happened. After 3 weeks customer service agreed to convert back to print version. Still previous versions are lost. I won't be renewing print or digital versions.

Terrible! Total waste of Money!

After several days of back and forth emails with them, FoodNetworkMagazineUS is a disaster and still doesn’t work. Supposedly subscribed, FoodNetworkMagazineUS still won’t let me access content. It gives me 4 minutes to look at content and wants me to purchase, at $4.99 a pop, each issue.
I’m done. I want my money back.

Don’t bother

FoodNetworkMagazineUS would not accept my my password, then when I tried to change my password using the “forgot password”, it didn’t send me the link to change it. After three tries, I gave up and canceled my subscription. Hopefully, it DID cancel my subscription. I’ve seen better apps written by high school students.

Waste of time and money

I agree with previous reviews; FoodNetworkMagazineUS has serious issues. I paid for both print and digital but it won't let me access the digital. Wasted a lot of time on this and I have just given up. Tried all of the suggestions from customer support and none of them work.
